    Pistachio crusted sea bass
    Andreas G.

Got dinner here on a Friday night. Place was pretty quiet so we got a table right away. We ordered some drinks and the grilled salmon and the pistachio crusted sea bass as mains. The sea bass was great, really buttery texture and perfectly cooked. Liked the lemon butter sauce as well. Salmon was topped with a mango salsa which was also good. Both dishes came with broccolini, mashed potatoes and red cabbage. Veggies were good, mashed potatoes could have been a bit creamier. If you're a baseball fan like me this place has an additional treat for you as it's full of memorabilia like signed jerseys and bats. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I would like to give it 5 stars, but I do feel it's a bit overpriced like many other restaurants in this area.

Steaks are super delicious here and food overall. They have a certain plate of the day, and was pleased with the options. Waitress was amazingly nice!

Probably one of the best dog friendly spots I've been too! We were able to bring our dog and sit inside instead of most places we have to sit outside - came in the winter so this helped a ton! Ordered the baked brie 4/5 great app if you want something sweet/savory. Bison meatloaf 4/5. This was super hearty, really filled me up plus extra to go home. Only downside was wish it came with more gravy. The Brussel sprouts that it came with were 5/5, not bitter at all. Our waitress was also really great! Super attentive brought our doggo a water bowl and checked up on us frequently The only con is the parking here as it's in the village so street parking is tough to find and paid parking is roughly $10 an hour. Tip: pay with cash as there's a discount

Food is consistently great! The staff is friendly, professional and add to the already pleasant atmosphere. Been there a few times and loved it each time! Excellent food! Loved our waitress and bartender. Don't miss going here! It was such a great an experience after our very terrible experience at Vulcania the night before!

Big restaurant in mammoth that missed the mark. Dirty ambiance with broken up seating inside and out. Seating and tables felt like cheap patio furniture. The service was fast and friendly thought. The menu was small and limited. The burger was nothing special, big but lacked flavor. The highlight of the meal were the French fries. This place had seen better days. Go somewhere else.

Pet friendly restaurant in heart of Mammoth. Good food, nice atmosphere, good service. Restaurant and sports bar attached. With pets we sat in sports bar part. Basic menu, nothing to shout about just nice place!

Good food selections and service. Little pricey but everything in Mammoth is pricey, so its equal to everyplace else. Fish and chips are great. Ribs are good.

A lot of the restaurants in the Mammoth ski village only have decent reviews, oftentimes because they are overpriced or have long waits or only average tasting food. We were staying really close to the village and wanted to do dinner somewhere that was walking distance, so I was looking up all the possible options. What caught my eye with Toomey's is that they are dog-friendly, even inside the restaurant! We were so excited to bring our dog with us for dinner so he could be with us in a warm place and not have to stay at our condo alone. Our server, Kevin, was extremely friendly and personable. He even brought out a water bowl for our dog! The interior has an odd seafoam green paint job on all the walls, looks like it has been that way for forever. It's more of a sports bar vibe on the inside but the menu does not consist of matching pub style food like you'd expect; they actually have some nice dishes that are more characteristic of a formal dinner restaurant. Prices are on the higher side, but that is to be expected in a ski village. Plus you at least get large portions here which is nice. We split a bowl of the clam chowder to start, they even divided it up into two separate cups for us which was really nice. I got the ribs for my meal and my husband got the buffalo meatloaf. The ribs were covered in a blackberry BBQ sauce which was actually really good. I wish it came with a little less sauce and that the ribs were more tender, but overall I was still pleased! My husband usually doesn't care for meatloaf but was intrigued by this one being made with lean buffalo meat. He ended up really liking it! We were both satisfied with our meals, everything was good but we didn't feel like it deserved 5 stars which we usually give to places that exceed our expectations. We will probably come back again next time we are in Mammoth, largely because of how dog-friendly they are compared to several other places in the village!

    Happy customers!

I had specifically asked to substitute the rice, but it was still served -- and there was a hair in it, which is absolutely unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint. The kids' burger was overcooked to the point of being dry like a cracker, and the fries looked and tasted like they were cooked in old, repeatedly used oil. This is unsafe and unacceptable, especially for children's food. The steak was ordered medium well, but was served well done -- completely overcooked. The chimichurri sauce was also misleading: instead of the classic green sauce, a red mixture was served that had nothing to do with it. The coleslaw was simply awful. Additionally, the staff showed no proper response -- we were not offered a replacement, a discount, or even a proper apology. This reflects a complete disregard for service standards and customer care. In its current state, this does not meet even basic restaurant standards.

We typically like sitting at the bar but bar seats were full so we opted for a table rather than wait. There are both high top and low top seating available as well as bar seating against the windows and fermentation silos. There is also seating outdoors if weather permits. The tables use a bar code scanning system to order food and drinks, then a person will deliver the food. I'm okay with this but I can see why some people would be frustrated with this process. For the appetizer we ordered the POBLANO ARTICHOKE DIP - $16 Artichoke, Poblano Chile, Corn, Cheddar, Colby Jack, Parmesan, Garlic, Mayonnaise, Sour Cream, Cream Cheese. Warmed and served with Pita bread or chips. We elected for the tortilla chips. This is a tasty appetizer and the perfect size for two people. For drinks we ordered two different hot cocktails served almost like a hot tea. Mulling it over - $17 Glass Creek Vodka, Mulled Spice Juice, Lemon. This was quite good and had a little bit of sweetness. The second was The Hot Toddy. $17. American Single Malt Whiskey, Lemon, Honey, Ginger. This tasted a little stronger and no sweetness. Do I think the drinks are a little expensive , yes. But sadly that is what you come across in a ski village. Personally I was a little shocked at how many families with young children were at the distillery but I've noticed that in almost every bar or brewery in Mammoth. Another good but different experience at Shelter Distilling.

I highly recommend waiting in their waiting area or downstairs for your table as they will come to find to if something opens up quicker. Everything we ordered was tasty. We were very hesitant to try the Asian sticky ribs but it actually ended up being really good. I can't remember what the vegetable dish (4th pic) was called but it was also very good if you got a bite with everything in it. It had sweet potato, beet, candied walnuts and pomegranate seeds! We also ordered some drinks. The curry drink (forgot the name) was surprisingly good despite the odd list of ingredients that went in. Their local black cherry soda was also very nice. Service is great and very helpful when it came to recommendations. The space is small and doesn't allow dogs which was a bummer but still a spot I would come back to try more of their seasonal items!

Super friendly, attentive, and took the time to walk us through the beer options while we already had our food picked out. Service like that makes a difference. We started with the mushroom soup (soup of the day). It was fully blended and smooth -- no big chunks -- and while it wasn't the most memorable soup ever, it definitely hit the spot after being out in the cold all day. The Oyster Rockefeller was the highlight. Perfectly done. The oysters tasted fresh, the spinach flavor came through nicely, and the crispy topping added the perfect crunch. I planned to have just one... ended up eating two. For the main, we ordered the steak medium well. It came out more charred on the outside than expected, so it wasn't amazing, but still solid. The fries were great though -- especially paired with beer. Overall, the food was good but not extraordinary. However, the service -- especially from Alonso -- really elevated the experience. Because of that, and the cozy post-snowboard vibe, this earns 5 stars.

We arrived and were greeted warmly by our host and seated at a table in front of the fireplace. The restaurant is very small and cozy. Our server took our drink orders and brought out a bread basket. We all ordered the following: - Soup of the day (loaded baked potato) - short rib fries - oven roasted Frenched chicken breast - chicken Parmesan - pan seared chinook salmon - shrimp scampi There was a small hiccup when my 10-year-old son noticed another table had been served chicken tenders and fries. We weren't offered a kids' menu, so he had ordered chicken Parmesan from the regular menu. Not a huge issue, but it would have been nice to know kid-friendly options were available. Unfortunately, service timing became more of a problem toward the end of the meal. After we had mostly finished eating, our server asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We said yes, and I gently reminded her we were celebrating a birthday. When she returned, she brought a complimentary birthday dessert with a candle (very thoughtful gesture!) but our dinner plates, empty glasses, and general table clutter were still in front of us. We also still hadn't seen the dessert menu we'd asked for, which made the moment feel rushed and a bit awkward. Needless to say, our server seemed to catch on that I was disappointed in the service towards the end of our meal. It seemed like she was the only server on the floor, too, which probably explained the lack of attentiveness and timing issues. Overall, the food was alright and everyone enjoyed their meals. It was an okay dining experience but the service could definitely use some improvement. For a restaurant with higher menu prices and a more upscale presentation (linen napkins, cozy ambiance, etc.), the level of service didn't quite match my expectations. I would still return as it could've just been an "off" night and their martinis were great!

The space itself is small, cozy, and intimate in the best way. It feels warm and inviting, especially after a long day in the cold, and sets the tone for a relaxed, linger-over-wine kind of dinner. The food was excellent across the board. We ordered elk, cod, and scallops and the scallops were the clear mic drop. Perfectly cooked, rich, and memorable. Our server recommended a bottle of wine that paired beautifully with everything and felt like someone actually listened instead of just pointing at the most expensive option. Service all around was warm, attentive, and unpretentious, which is not always a given in resort towns. Dessert was sorbet, simple but refreshing, and my girlfriend ordered a port she really enjoyed. Our starter salad was mostly iceberg lettuce, the lamb starter was undercooked, and while the scallops were very good, $8 per scallop felt excessive. The beef Wellington, which we were particularly excited about, was bland and the pastry was doughy. For a dinner that totaled over $300 for two people, we expected a much higher level of quality and creativity. Compared to our previous visits, the food felt like it had gone noticeably downhill.
