Second time coming here, we visited last July and came again due to the variety on their menu :) We had 5 adults and 4 kids and the menu does offer a decent variety which was why we came back. Here's everything we ordered I have pics of most of the food but not everything. Service was good. Our server was kind and helpful and food arrived quickly! Here's what we got as a group of 9 and everyone's thoughts 8/10 -Patty Melt *grilled onions great, meat was tough 7/10 -Bison Bacon Burger *patty was small, bacon overcooked (for a 24.00 burger I guess the expectation was a little higher) 7/10 -Chili Burger *would have lined more chili and Pattie was a little dry. 10/10 -Full each of ribs Ribs were tender, juicy and flavorful, fries were good and fresh 5/10 -Beef Dip *meet was in long pieces which made it hard To take bites, meat lacked flavor. Adding Swiss cheese made it taste better I think but wouldn't order again. 8/10 -Bacon Cheeseburger *Pattie was a little dry. 8/10 Kid Mac n' Cheese w/fries *came out cold and cheese a bit thick

Overall, great experience. We sat at the bar. We were greeted right away. I ordered a beer and their Bison Steak Burger. Restaurant was busy. Staff were friendly. They have an upstairs area as well as downstairs. Bison Steak Burger 10/10. The grilled onions on top were delicious with the steak. My only complaint would be about the baked potatoe. Super bummed about how it came out. My potatoe was on the hard side. It wasn't easy scraping it off the potatoe skin.

Yeah- thats the short rib melt. I had to lift the buns to look for the meat portion. This mgmt sucks man.

I have to say it's ridicules to pay $22 for a 1/4 pound burger. C'mon!!! I chose another option instead. It was not much more meat but at least the short rib melt was you know not a grounded meat. The place needs to stay true to what makes a highly favorable restaurant in Mammoth for years. The menu prices are just not right. Either provide a decent portion like 1/3 lbs or more, or go back under $20. Anyway, I don't feel compelled to try it again. It's bar food and it cost me over $40 after tip and tax.

Came here for a group dinner. We sat upstairs which has a really nice and spacious dining room. All the tables are well spaced and not crowded together so even when it's busy there is still room for everyone. I had the short rib melt which came with either salad or fries, or half and half which is a great option. Food is quite delicious although a bit pricey but that seems to be the going rate in Mammoth. If you are gluten free will need to be very specific - one of our gluten free friends asked for no croutons in the salad and they still brought it with a piece of garlic bread on it. Overall a nice restaurant with great atmosphere and friendly servers.

Got dinner here an a Saturday night. It was close to our hotel and we wanted something in walking distance. We ordered some lemonade, a local kolsch, the seared tuna salad and the bison burger. The salad size is ridiculously large. The tuna was good and the dressing too, but they basically give you two pounds of salad as a base which doesn't make any sense to me. The burger was ok, but there is so much lettuce and tomato is cut so thick that you can hardly taste the beef. You should probably get the double burger, but it's already 20 plus for the regular one. Fries were really disappointing, tasted like they're from the frozen section. Putting a little bit more love into the sides goes a long way. For desert we ordered a piece of the mud pie. Once again, ginormous. Easily enough for 3-4 people. I'd rather they give you a smaller piece and cut the price. It tasted good, especially the dark layer, but just way too big. Service was great and staff made sure we have everything we need. Overall, a bit disappointing and seriously overpriced for the quality of food. Three stars mostly for the staff.

We came here for dinner on a Thursday night for a group of 8 and there was no wait. They have plenty of seating with a downstairs and upstairs. The upstairs is more of a bar vibe, while the downstairs is more of a traditional restaurant. The staff members were friendly and helpful! I ordered a Cheeseburger with half salad and half fries. Unfortunately my burger was too raw. I'm usually okay with some redness, but this one was way too raw and uncooked. I asked the server if they could cook it longer, and they accommodated me with a brand new burger. It did take about 15 extra minutes to get the new one, but by then, I was full from other people's dishes. The rest of the dishes we ordered were good. The portions are pretty big so you get your money's worth. I'll give them a chance another time, but I'm sorry, if your restaurant is called burgers, I'd expect my burger to be pretty good. I appreciated the service though.

Just came up here early December for our first trip of the season. After a lovely sunny day on the slopes we came to burgers to fill our hungry appetites. Our server was very pleasant and friendly, our food was excellent. The meat was cooked perfectly medium and not overly salty, the fried onions were great. Good value especially in Mammoth!

This restaurant was very good. The food was! They have great service! Can't wait for them to re-open next season.

You can't beat this view! Restaurant is clean and very open.

My husband and I went here because we were told to try their mud pie. We decided to split a burger and then share the mud pie. We had a bacon cheeseburger and added sautéed mushrooms on it. I like that the burgers are fresh beef, not frozen patties. It was a good burger, and my husband commented on how much he liked that the bacon was crispy. We had a great server. Brady was friendly and upbeat. Great personality. This would be a fun place to go with friends. If you'd like to watch sports, they've got screens in the dining and bar area. The mud pie was amazing! Two neighboring tables commented on how good our dessert looked, so before we dug in we gave them a piece to try. We all agreed that it's two thumbs up! The prices are a little high, but I feel like everything's high these days. The burger was about $22 plus toppings, and the mudpie was $18. Three or four people could definitely split that mud. It was so good.

Ask the Community - Burgers Restaurant

Is indoor dining currently available ? :)

Yes

Can you call for takeout? Currently not accepting online orders and wondering if they are short-staffed

I don't believe they will accept call-ahead orders for take out. However, if you go there in-person, the hostess allowed me to order food to-go. Hope this helps.

Anyone know if this place is still open? Went back in mid October around 7pm and no light at all was on. Just wondering if it closed down not?

After an extensive remodel, Burgers has reopened this week for take out. In house dining should be happening in a week or two. The new bar and dining addition on the 2nd floor should be open in 4-6 weeks.

I had specifically asked to substitute the rice, but it was still served -- and there was a hair in it, which is absolutely unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint. The kids' burger was overcooked to the point of being dry like a cracker, and the fries looked and tasted like they were cooked in old, repeatedly used oil. This is unsafe and unacceptable, especially for children's food. The steak was ordered medium well, but was served well done -- completely overcooked. The chimichurri sauce was also misleading: instead of the classic green sauce, a red mixture was served that had nothing to do with it. The coleslaw was simply awful. Additionally, the staff showed no proper response -- we were not offered a replacement, a discount, or even a proper apology. This reflects a complete disregard for service standards and customer care. In its current state, this does not meet even basic restaurant standards.

We typically like sitting at the bar but bar seats were full so we opted for a table rather than wait. There are both high top and low top seating available as well as bar seating against the windows and fermentation silos. There is also seating outdoors if weather permits. The tables use a bar code scanning system to order food and drinks, then a person will deliver the food. I'm okay with this but I can see why some people would be frustrated with this process. For the appetizer we ordered the POBLANO ARTICHOKE DIP - $16 Artichoke, Poblano Chile, Corn, Cheddar, Colby Jack, Parmesan, Garlic, Mayonnaise, Sour Cream, Cream Cheese. Warmed and served with Pita bread or chips. We elected for the tortilla chips. This is a tasty appetizer and the perfect size for two people. For drinks we ordered two different hot cocktails served almost like a hot tea. Mulling it over - $17 Glass Creek Vodka, Mulled Spice Juice, Lemon. This was quite good and had a little bit of sweetness. The second was The Hot Toddy. $17. American Single Malt Whiskey, Lemon, Honey, Ginger. This tasted a little stronger and no sweetness. Do I think the drinks are a little expensive , yes. But sadly that is what you come across in a ski village. Personally I was a little shocked at how many families with young children were at the distillery but I've noticed that in almost every bar or brewery in Mammoth. Another good but different experience at Shelter Distilling.

I highly recommend waiting in their waiting area or downstairs for your table as they will come to find to if something opens up quicker. Everything we ordered was tasty. We were very hesitant to try the Asian sticky ribs but it actually ended up being really good. I can't remember what the vegetable dish (4th pic) was called but it was also very good if you got a bite with everything in it. It had sweet potato, beet, candied walnuts and pomegranate seeds! We also ordered some drinks. The curry drink (forgot the name) was surprisingly good despite the odd list of ingredients that went in. Their local black cherry soda was also very nice. Service is great and very helpful when it came to recommendations. The space is small and doesn't allow dogs which was a bummer but still a spot I would come back to try more of their seasonal items!

CHECK THEIR WEBSITE…read more - Make a reservation ahead of time - Don't bring kids The website prominently advertises that this is an ADULTS ONLY restaurant. It also indicates how to make a RESERVATION, which is highy recommended as this restaurant can get fully booked all night long. Yelp no longer has the "Takes Reservations" indicator, so you wouldn't know unless you visit their website. We unfortunately did not know either information when we decided to eat here, which ended up in a rather disappointing result when we walked in and were turned away from both getting a table the night we walked in right when the restaurant opened, and also from booking a reservation for any future night while we were there. The food looked and smelled good. Maybe we'll be back in 15+ years. NOTE: I initially gave a 3 star review as I view that as a neutral response, but I suppose that may have unfairly dragged down the rating of the restaurant given the few number of reviews on yelp. I do stand by a 4 star review, as I do think it the responsibility of the restaurant to clearly convey their prominent policies. While I do appreciate that the no child policy is prominently displayed on their website, visiting a url before walking into a building is not a common practice. If the restaurant can take the time to post social media photos of their food and logo on yelp, they can also post their prominent restaurant policies. Clear communication is important. We have been to more than a few 18+ venues where no children are allowed (restaurants, bars, rated R movies, speakeasies, comedy clubs), and this policy was clearly communicated at those other venues (e.g., via advertising, via a sign at the front of the venue, via their business card). But, at Ursa, this policy was not made clear to us until after we spoke to the host for a good 10 minutes after entering the restaurant. In her defense, she was apologetically trying to make our night better by suggesting many other alternative restaurants where we could go. But we were not looking for alternative restaurants which were, in our opinion, starkly different restaurants which were not comparable to Ursa. Ursa is unique to the region. We just wanted to know how best to eat at Ursa. Which was--make a reservation ahead of time, don't bring kids.

Had a reservation at 7:30 and they seated us immediately. It was packed which raised the bar of my expectations (I mean if its this packed it must be good right?!). For the ambiance, Its inside a coffee shop so think of that with dimmed lighting to set the tone. Our server was friendly and explained the plates are family style to be shared. We got the roasted chicken, duck fat potatoes, and the gochujang short rib with a side of home made sourdough. By the looks of it (see pictures attached) it was going to be a hearty, delicious and fulfilling meal after a fully day on the mountain. Sadly the food was pretty disappointing. The chicken was dry, the potatoes were forgettable and the short rib that wasn't connected to the bone was tough felt over cooked. The saving grace was broth that short ribs came in and the sourdough to soak it up. Of course the server will ask if everything is good, you're not going to send it back half way done with the meal we just wanted to finish and leave. All in all friendly service, decent ambiance, but pretty forgettable food. If you are looking for chicken I would just go to the Vons across the street and pay $10 for a whole chicken. you'll get the same effect and wont feel like "did I really pay this much for an unfulfilling meal?"
