Nice open restaurant, bar, a few TV's and a rec room with a pool table and arcade games. Just one bathroom that was pretty dirty but when we came, kids kept running in and out. Look folks, watch your kids please, it isn't up to the staff to babysit. We had the ham croquettes, airline chicken and the burger. All were delicious! Convenient location, plenty of seating too. Service was great for us.

Super yummy meal all around. Everything was good & reasonably priced for what you were getting. They were able to take our large party last minute very quickly & our waitress was efficient. Would recommend the Brussels sprouts and the summit burger. The location itself has a game room and live music that really topped off the experience.

This place is LEGIT!! Came here for the first time during our snowboarding trip and food was gas, wait staff was friendly, and ambience was super sick with a good view of the mountains outside the windows. I'd like to visit again next time we're in the area.

Delicious food, great ambiance and friendly service. Definitely would recommend Bar Sierra!

The food was amazing. We ordered the burgers and also their tuna nachos, which were so good we had to try them a couple of times during our stay at the resort. The beers they recommended were also delicious, and what's best it was supporting local breweries. The staff was pretty friendly and accommodating. At night they have live music which is nice and they have an outside patio if you have any furry babies.

Stopped in here just because we drove by and it looked cool, and we were so glad we did! What an awesome hangout! Definitely upscale "ski lodge" in feel, but at the same time, cozy and low key. They have an excellent selection of craft beers, plus wine and cocktails. And the food was both innovative and delicious. I had the dragon-something-sando, and it was fantastic. Pickled veggies in the sandwich had me raising my eyebrows at fist, but the first bit proved it to be a genius move. The service was excellent, and the price was more than reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

This place is where you go when you don't want diner food or old style mammoth. It has beautiful ambiance on the inside and the food is very high quality. I would suggest this place is you want a little more upper class mammoth. It's a great date spot and the bar has a huge selection. The menu is small but each item we had was amazing.

I wandered by here on my way back to my condo across the street. I hadn't been here since it was Rafters. Bar Sierra opened 1.5 years ago and the inside appeared unchanged from the previous restaurant. They have Trivia Night on Thursday's starting at 7pm. It's free and hosted by a fun guy named Maurice. There are prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd! A fun thing to do on a Thursday evening. They have other entertainment on the weekends. There is also a side room with a variety of arcade games. There are 16 local beers on tap. We didn't eat, but it's a simple one page menu featuring BBQ. The central fireplace makes for a cozy setting for an evening. We will be back to check out the restaurant, despite its varied reviews on Yelp. If anything, it's a fun, warm place to have a few drinks in the evening!

Off the beaten Mammoth path just a bit but an oh-so-cool vibe and chill. Fantastic ribeye, salmon and appetizers. Bottle of Napa Zin for $45 that drank like $100. Will (our server) was outstanding. Make this a don't skip place on your next Mammoth Adventure - and make it an Alterra Day!

We started with wings and they were super crispy and delicious. I ordered the meat plate with mac and cheese, and french fries. The food was absolutely phenomenal here and I was blown away. 100/10 The service was really good and attentive. Everyone was really friendly. The ambiance is really nice in here. The lighting is dim so it feels cool and also romantic. There's stool seating and couch seating so it feels casual. It kind of feels like you're in someone's house or at a casual not crowded party.

Order the cheese curds! They are wonderful. I also ordered the summit burger and added bacon, I would skip the bacon unless you like it extra crispy.

OMG the food here was good!…read more I walked in around 3:30pm after an entire day of XC skiing and was pretty hungry and thirsty. I asked for a Mammoth Kolsch but the keg kicked so waited a few minutes while the bartender went to change it. Bartender was great, got me a pint of the first pull with minimal head as I watched him make my pour. Thank you bartender! Head always sucks IMHO lol...and the Kolsch was nice and crisp, just the way I like it! I worked hard today and for some reason the thing calling my attention on the menu today was the short rib. That isnt the first thing on the menu I usually look for but probably working my body hard made me want some protein. The short rib was so good, very tender, so well cooked and the BBQ demi glace hit the spot. It also came with arugula garnish, which is my favorite green and went very well with the short rib. Potato gratin was yummy and the onion rings perfect! I ate to my hearts content, soooo good! Large portion size so I have leftovers for another meal. Service was good, host at the front was super cheery and friendly. Lots of merch for sale here. Many of the beers also in cans for takeaway too. Also ample parking, and there is also an area to sit outside too. I chose to sit inside as I was outside all day already and got more than my daily Vit D dose! Overall, a great experience, I am definitely coming back!

Decided to still try out a couple of new spots to give Mammoth a chance and was pleasantly surprised by Mammoth Tavern. Stopped in on a Saturday night and were told that the wait would be about 30 to 40 minutes but were seated in about 10! I highly recommend waiting in their waiting area or downstairs for your table as they will come to find to if something opens up quicker. Everything we ordered was tasty. We were very hesitant to try the Asian sticky ribs but it actually ended up being really good. I can't remember what the vegetable dish (4th pic) was called but it was also very good if you got a bite with everything in it. It had sweet potato, beet, candied walnuts and pomegranate seeds! We also ordered some drinks. The curry drink (forgot the name) was surprisingly good despite the odd list of ingredients that went in. Their local black cherry soda was also very nice. Service is great and very helpful when it came to recommendations. The space is small and doesn't allow dogs which was a bummer but still a spot I would come back to try more of their seasonal items!

We typically like sitting at the bar but bar seats were full so we opted for a table rather than wait. There are both high top and low top seating available as well as bar seating against the windows and fermentation silos. There is also seating outdoors if weather permits. The tables use a bar code scanning system to order food and drinks, then a person will deliver the food. I'm okay with this but I can see why some people would be frustrated with this process. For the appetizer we ordered the POBLANO ARTICHOKE DIP - $16 Artichoke, Poblano Chile, Corn, Cheddar, Colby Jack, Parmesan, Garlic, Mayonnaise, Sour Cream, Cream Cheese. Warmed and served with Pita bread or chips. We elected for the tortilla chips. This is a tasty appetizer and the perfect size for two people. For drinks we ordered two different hot cocktails served almost like a hot tea. Mulling it over - $17 Glass Creek Vodka, Mulled Spice Juice, Lemon. This was quite good and had a little bit of sweetness. The second was The Hot Toddy. $17. American Single Malt Whiskey, Lemon, Honey, Ginger. This tasted a little stronger and no sweetness. Do I think the drinks are a little expensive , yes. But sadly that is what you come across in a ski village. Personally I was a little shocked at how many families with young children were at the distillery but I've noticed that in almost every bar or brewery in Mammoth. Another good but different experience at Shelter Distilling.
