    Dirty martini
    Holly M.

We stopped in on a Friday night. We were happy to find a couple of seats at the bar which had a nice vibe. Our bartender Brittany was very friendly and efficient. We ordered dirty martinis which she made perfectly cold like we requested. For a second drink I ordered the Aperol Sprotz and it was very good as well. We were excited to order the beef carpaccio as we thought it was excellent last year and obviously unforgettable. Unfortunately, they changed the recipe and it just wasn't the same. Instead of the little round potatoes, they changed it to hash brown sticks. It wasn't as creamy and flavorful as last year either. Such a bummer. The salumi pizza with red sauce, calabrese salami, capicola, speck, parmigiano reggiano was still tasty. The crust is really delicious. We also ordered the Chicken Parmesan which was very moist and flavorful. We like Vulcania but it is a little pricy for the portion size. I realize it is a ski mounts town and everything is more expensive here. I do hope they change the carpaccio recipe back to the previous version.

Second timing dining here in the igloo ,,, service or lack of this time around was disappointing,,,, the asparagus was just a terrible concept to eat or share. Awkward mess a hard pass ! The barramundi over complicated not as good as their swordfish dish not on the menu currently. I'd pass , stars of the night were the lamb raviolis and the rigatoni pasta both delicious. Seasoning on the broccoli terrible tasted like gasoline not good. We booked mentioned a birthday when asked and not even a complimentary dessert till we asked on a close to 300 tab. Lol then they acted soooo bothered even rude , terrible why ask just lack luster for the price doubt we will make a third trip there. Not worth the money.

We were staying at the Westin Monache and when I found that Michael and Bryan Voltaggio had a restaurant nearby we had to check it out. We were lucky enough to have Natalie as our server and she took excellent care of us. We started with the calamari with the most excellent marinara dipping sauce. It was so good we almost ate it all without taking a picture. Then we shared the Margarita pizza and the crust tasted of garlic which we loved. Again the same excellent marinara sauce and fontina cheese. The restaurant had a great vibe which is what you would expect for the Voltaggio brothers. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Mammoth.

Carb-loading at altitude, but make it Italian When you're in Mammoth and your body is screaming for carbs after a day on the mountain (or just from walking to your car in ski boots), Vulcania delivers like a nonna who's been waiting all day to feed you. Tucked into the Village right next to Gomez's Mexican Restaurant (which is no slouch itself), this place pulls off that rare trick: it actually feels like a legit Italian escape...just with better snow outside. Let's start where all good decisions begin: pizza as an appetizer. Yes, you heard that right. Their authentic pizza oven isn't just for show--it's the real deal. Thin crust, blistered just enough, and gone in about 90 seconds at our table. No regrets. The tricolore salad is a solid opener--fresh, simple, and a nice way to pretend you're pacing yourself. You're not. Because then comes the main event: Voltaggi-O's. Imagine your childhood love affair with Chef Boyardee's Spaghetti-O's...then imagine it went to culinary school, studied abroad in Naples, and came back with confidence, depth, and a killer wine list. That's this dish. It's nostalgic, elevated, and borderline dangerous in how easy it is to keep eating. And honestly? The staff might be the real MVPs. Servers and bartenders here are five-star across the board--attentive without hovering, smiling like they actually enjoy being there, and full of spot-on recommendations (which, let's be honest, we happily followed). Bottom line: If you're in Mammoth and craving Italian that goes beyond the usual ski-town fare, Vulcania is the move. Come hungry, order the pizza "appetizer" (don't overthink it), and don't you dare skip the Voltaggi-O's. You'll leave full, happy... and already planning your next visit.

    Igloos for outdoor seating

We had dinner here during our Mammoth getaway. It's a very busy place because of its popularity with not just tourists but also for locals. We're glad we were able to book a reservation. We actually wanted to sit at one of the outdoor igloos but we were told that reservations were months ahead so maybe next time we visit. So we ordered the following to share: SALUMI $28 Crushed San Marzano tomatoes, calabrese salami, capicola, speck, parmigiano reggiano VOLTAGGI-O'S $24 A version of the canned childhood favorite. Annelini pasta, tomato gravy, and a giant meatball They're kind of expensive which is understandable because it's located in a popular tourist area. It's worth it though because we enjoyed both items. They're unique and delicious. We also love the service provided and the ambiance at this restaurant. We're looking forward to dine here again most likely in the igloos.

    Tricolore salad

Wow! Food and service is so wonderful that we decided to eat lunch here 3 times and dinner twice. For lunch the tricolore salad was fabulous! So many flavors in a simple salad. The buratta caprese is a don't miss. Amazing flavors again! The rigatoni and spaghetti- incredible. Cooked perfectly. Pizzas are amazing with a perfect crust. For dinner the chicken parmigiana and salmon were fantastic. Once again full of flavor. The top notch service compliments the amazing food. The hostess Marie is always smiling. Cam and Jasmine at the bar are always happy to help and offer excellent service. Natalie our server was so pleasant! She chatted with us and offered suggestions. This team is led by David who was so kind and friendly. What a perfect dining experience. I would give it 10 stars if I could! Don't pass up a chance to dine here. Make reservations to ensure a spot.

This past year my wife and I got into a bunch of competition food shows, and we love watching the Voltaggio brothers. I've often overlooked this place since I usually don't eat in the village, but we will definitely be back! Came here for lunch with the family since we forgot to grab a reservation for dinner. The lunch menu is pretty limited but everything was done well with fresh quality ingredients. If you're a mushroom lover like me, then the fungi pizza is the best. Funky and creamy goodness packed with yummy mushrooms. The crust was cooked to precision with a nice outer crunch and light and airy on the inside. The tricolore salad was super refreshing and colorful. Mozzarella sticks were really solid, the cheese blend they use is delicious and the bread crumb batter was perfectly crispy. Calamari was my favorite app, the lemon garlic aioli and pepperoncinis elevate the dish to the next level! I'd pass on the rigatoni next time, it was good but nothing special. The ribeye steak add on was cooked to your preference and nicely seasoned. We loved the elevated modern interior decor and the center bar was a beauty to look at. The staff are super friendly and the service was phenomenal!

    Slice of the margherita pizza

I was so excited to try a Voltaggio brothers restaurant. Ambiance is wonderful! Food was beautiful, taste was just okay. Portions were generous ... too generous. The server suggested that two of us order 4-5 dishes meant to be shared. We ordered the Caesar salad, which was enough to feed 6 people, and overdressed. The caprese salad was different - great burrata and pesto, the cherry tomatoes were cooked and chilled. The accompanying Parmesan rice crescents were very odd and chewy. Lastly, we shared a margarita pizza. A little soggy, and too much cheese. NO WAY two people could eat 4-5 dishes.

One of my favorites restaurants in Mammoth. The food is fantastic, service is excellent (hustling with a smile), and the ambience is great. Haven't tried dinner in one of the pods which looks fun too. Fantastic birthday dinner for me!!!! We had the spaghetti Arabiata, brussel sprouts, fungi pizza and tiramisu. Yum! Wine list is wonderful with lots of good Italian reds and whites. Didn't have a cocktail but they have a great curated list for that too! Thanks Vulcania for once again showing us a good time. Left happy and full!

As you enter you are greeted by someone and then it's open seating and you basically scan the QR code and order thru your phone and pay as well it's easy and convenient. The food options are great and their food is Delicious. Simple concept but very well put together. We had their Beet Salad and their Pizza along with their Pork Belly taco and every bite was satisfying and full of flavor. The salad was the win for me I love a good beet salad, the dressing it was tossed in was just perfection along with the goat cheese. For their drinks I had a Beet infused drink and well it was different but just worked and was strong & also tried a local beer. You order your food and then a server just comes and drops off and if you need anything you just look their way and they help out. The servers were very friendly the ones bringing out the food, it was kind of a bummer toward the end, I always say the staff make the visit enjoyable or not and that can def hinder people from coming back. A simple question was asked about the merch and the answer was just rude.. there was a Main lady by the register and she just didn't have the friendliest vibe or smile at all. We left kinda confused but the food was great and that doesn't change the food review and the vibes here. There was an indoor and outdoor seating and cool views to people watch and loved that it was Dog friendly so many cute pups. They had these mixed drinks in can and Lemme tell you they were AMAZING we took them back to our campsite and was the perfect drink to just hang with. Can't wait to pick some up again.

No other business does this on Reddit. First, service is very slow and pretty haughty. I had to wait 30 minutes for a simple pesto chicken crepe. It tasted disgusting. I got the apple dessert crepe. It was full of little cubes of raw apple that just fell out of the crepe. There was barely any cinnamon or sugar in it. I also got the pesto crepe. There was a splash of pesto and a couple little pieces of chicken. 90% of the crepe is the bread or galette or whatever. The rest (which isn't much) is just thrown in there. At $16 each, this was a complete ripoff, even worse than the usual Mammoth ripoff. The ambiance is pretty good though and they have a nice wine bar area. I could see this place being good for breakfast, but it's not worth spending any more of my money there.
