Classy place with upscale restaurant and fitness center and outdoor pool. The room we have is a studio with a queen bed, sofa sleeper, kitchen, and batywith tub and shower. I think we are coming back here next year.

The fried zucchini was so good. Crunchy. Not soggy. Great dipping sauce. The beet salad mixed with arugula and feta were plenty full and great pairing with arugula. The beets were cut in circular shape. Tender and soft. The elote had a great kick it was nice with side of nachos. The shrimp and grits had to be retuned bc it was literally so salty and soupy. The wait staff was nice to take it back and not charge me and gave us a free dessert of our choice. Which we chose the brownie sundae. Brownie was super dry and tough. Doesn't seem homemade at all.

Went here for dinner and two breakfasts. It's convenient when staying at the hotel. The ambiance is ok. They have nice views and some TVs and a bar. But the place could use a refresh for sure. They have some odd lounge chairs and low tables that are awkward for dinner. The placemats are falling apart. The staff are friendly and attentive - especially the breakfast ones. The breakfast items that were great are the chia seed with fruit, the breakfast burritos and the veg omelet. I'd pass on the Cornbeef hash. It's not bad but it's not the traditional version. The toast is ok - I would go for the fruit instead. For dinner we had the halibut and the chicken skewers. They were both good. The sides were over seasoned - asparagus and mushrooms - and over priced - $10-12 each separate from the $42 halibut. They have happy hour drinks which we missed. I think worth a visit.

    Chicken soup?

I'll admit, I didn't listen to the reviews and decided to give White Bark a shot anyway. Unfortunately, I probably should have heeded the warnings. On the plus side, the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and the staff were extremely friendly--those factors alone earned them the 2 stars. Where things went downhill was the food. I started with their chicken noodle soup, which sadly was a total miss (0/5 stars in my book). It tasted off and I had to send it back. Next, I ordered the turkey sandwich, which looked promising on the menu. It came loaded with all sorts of tasty ingredients--but it was served on thin, untoasted bread. The moment I tried to pick it up, the bread fell apart before I could even take a bite, effectively turning my sandwich into a messy open-faced creation. All in all, while I appreciated the pleasant staff and nice ambiance, the food left a lot to be desired. I won't be returning anytime soon.

Came back again this year and wow, food has been better than ever! And that dam peach dream drink was amazing!!!! Worth the wait. Highly encourage making reservations.

The food was excellent. Our server David was outstanding. Especially loved the calamari.. The espresso martini's we had for dessert were a perfect end to our delusions dinner. Classy ambiance.

Breakfast Burrito* and Latte with vanilla syrup

I'm assuming all the bad reviews are for meals other than breakfast? Because we tried this place for breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised considering all the reviews we had read. The breakfast was super delicious and we love everything. I got a breakfast burrito and a latte with soy (or oat) milk and added vanilla syrup and it was 5/5 for me. We had such an incredible server as well, her name Kristel. She was super sweet and very attentive to us, considering we had a party of 8. Our food came out quickly and everything tasted straight out of the kitchen. I would definitely recommend for breakfast if you're staying at the Westin!

The beau and I stayed at the Westin and this was the restaurant inside. We got complimentary breakfast here in the morning. The portions were big and the food was decent. We ate here for dinner once and it was excellent. I got the steak au poivre and it was really good. I don't expect much out of a hotel restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent as well. The worst part was that on the coldest, snowiest day of the year the restaurant closed for a "plumbing issue" which means we had to go out in the snow. Luckily they opened it up again quickly.

We visited as a family of four and made reservations ahead of time after hearing so many great things--and we felt incredibly fortunate to secure a Sunday booking, especially since they're closed Monday through Wednesday. It ended up being the perfect way to begin our time in Mammoth. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and efficient without ever feeling rushed. And the food? Absolutely divine. Every dish reflected the expertise and care of a master chef with decades of experience in Norwegian cuisine. What truly elevated the evening was the personal touch--the chef graciously visited our table to greet us and ensure everything was to our liking. That kind of hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated. We ordered three appetizers, a soup, three entrées, and finished with crème brûlée for dessert--and every single item was flawless. An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Five stars--well deserved. Thank you for an unforgettable meal.

The open kitchen adds a level of sophistication and elegance that made us very excited for the meal. Our server was very friendly, personable, attentive and helpful with recommendations. Unfortunately, ambiance and service proved to be the two best attributes of this restaurant. We started the meal with the Hamachi Crudo, which was well constructed, but something was unpleasantly fishy on the plate... not sure if it was the roe, the scallops, or the fish itself. The Little Gems salad had a nice flavorful Danish blue cheese, but the lettuce looked like it was washed, cut and prepped the day before (rotten sections where it had been chopped). The beets were totally bland and unseasoned, like they were just boiled, cooled, cubed and thrown on the plate. For a fine dining restaurant, you would hope that every component on its own would be individually seasoned. The mushroom soup was very flat tasting, and the texture of the puck of mushrooms in the bottom of the bowl that had hot broth poured table side was not enjoyable to eat at all. They tasted like gross, chewy reconstituted dried mushrooms... very unpleasant. For our mains, we ordered the Scallops and the Steak. The scallops were undercooked. My wife had a hard time finishing them. We weren't concerned about health risks considering how upscale this place was, but texturally you want a seared scallop to have a nice bouncy texture when you bite into it. These were very soft. On a positive note, the sauce was flavorful though. I am assuming my steak was cooked sous vide because it was insanely soft (almost mushy) and cooled down about 2 minutes after being brought to the table. There was no texture to it at all, and it had an odd warmed over flavor, like it was maybe cooked far in advance and then seared to order. The sides of potatoes and vegetables were more delicious to be honest. Overall, while I cannot fault the setting, ambiance and service, the food fell extremely short. Especially for the $300 we spent after tip.

CHECK THEIR WEBSITE…read more - Make a reservation ahead of time - Don't bring kids The website prominently advertises that this is an ADULTS ONLY restaurant. It also indicates how to make a RESERVATION, which is highy recommended as this restaurant can get fully booked all night long. Yelp no longer has the "Takes Reservations" indicator, so you wouldn't know unless you visit their website. We unfortunately did not know either information when we decided to eat here, which ended up in a rather disappointing result when we walked in and were turned away from both getting a table the night we walked in right when the restaurant opened, and also from booking a reservation for any future night while we were there. The food looked and smelled good. Maybe we'll be back in 15+ years. NOTE: I initially gave a 3 star review as I view that as a neutral response, but I suppose that may have unfairly dragged down the rating of the restaurant given the few number of reviews on yelp. I do stand by a 4 star review, as I do think it the responsibility of the restaurant to clearly convey their prominent policies. While I do appreciate that the no child policy is prominently displayed on their website, visiting a url before walking into a building is not a common practice. If the restaurant can take the time to post social media photos of their food and logo on yelp, they can also post their prominent restaurant policies. Clear communication is important. We have been to more than a few 18+ venues where no children are allowed (restaurants, bars, rated R movies, speakeasies, comedy clubs), and this policy was clearly communicated at those other venues (e.g., via advertising, via a sign at the front of the venue, via their business card). But, at Ursa, this policy was not made clear to us until after we spoke to the host for a good 10 minutes after entering the restaurant. In her defense, she was apologetically trying to make our night better by suggesting many other alternative restaurants where we could go. But we were not looking for alternative restaurants which were, in our opinion, starkly different restaurants which were not comparable to Ursa. Ursa is unique to the region. We just wanted to know how best to eat at Ursa. Which was--make a reservation ahead of time, don't bring kids.

Had a reservation at 7:30 and they seated us immediately. It was packed which raised the bar of my expectations (I mean if its this packed it must be good right?!). For the ambiance, Its inside a coffee shop so think of that with dimmed lighting to set the tone. Our server was friendly and explained the plates are family style to be shared. We got the roasted chicken, duck fat potatoes, and the gochujang short rib with a side of home made sourdough. By the looks of it (see pictures attached) it was going to be a hearty, delicious and fulfilling meal after a fully day on the mountain. Sadly the food was pretty disappointing. The chicken was dry, the potatoes were forgettable and the short rib that wasn't connected to the bone was tough felt over cooked. The saving grace was broth that short ribs came in and the sourdough to soak it up. Of course the server will ask if everything is good, you're not going to send it back half way done with the meal we just wanted to finish and leave. All in all friendly service, decent ambiance, but pretty forgettable food. If you are looking for chicken I would just go to the Vons across the street and pay $10 for a whole chicken. you'll get the same effect and wont feel like "did I really pay this much for an unfulfilling meal?"

I highly recommend waiting in their waiting area or downstairs for your table as they will come to find to if something opens up quicker. Everything we ordered was tasty. We were very hesitant to try the Asian sticky ribs but it actually ended up being really good. I can't remember what the vegetable dish (4th pic) was called but it was also very good if you got a bite with everything in it. It had sweet potato, beet, candied walnuts and pomegranate seeds! We also ordered some drinks. The curry drink (forgot the name) was surprisingly good despite the odd list of ingredients that went in. Their local black cherry soda was also very nice. Service is great and very helpful when it came to recommendations. The space is small and doesn't allow dogs which was a bummer but still a spot I would come back to try more of their seasonal items!
