He and his wife Jo moved to Mammoth three years ago. When asked why they opened a wine bar featuring Italian wines, he replied "We've been to Italy a bunch and we wanted to do wine. Italian wines". They have a small selection of food: Cheese plate, duck and liver pâté and canned mussels. I had the Delirium Tremens beer, my friend had a glass of the Barolo Serralunga red wine. Both were tasty! No other business does this on Reddit. First, service is very slow and pretty haughty. I had to wait 30 minutes for a simple pesto chicken crepe. It tasted disgusting. I got the apple dessert crepe. It was full of little cubes of raw apple that just fell out of the crepe. There was barely any cinnamon or sugar in it. I also got the pesto crepe. There was a splash of pesto and a couple little pieces of chicken. 90% of the crepe is the bread or galette or whatever. The rest (which isn't much) is just thrown in there. At $16 each, this was a complete ripoff, even worse than the usual Mammoth ripoff. The ambiance is pretty good though and they have a nice wine bar area. I could see this place being good for breakfast, but it's not worth spending any more of my money there.

He spent time talking with us, answering questions, and making sure we were enjoying everything. He even told us he doesn't have a single wine on the list that he doesn't personally love. Every course was beautifully prepared and perfectly portioned so we could enjoy each one without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. My husband and I genuinely loved every single thing we ate. We were seated at the first table by the entrance, where bright sunlight was pouring directly onto my face. There were only two other groups in the restaurant and at least 10 other tables unoccupied, so we politely asked if we could move back one table to another two-person table. Tracie told us they couldn't move us because other guests had gone online and selected the exact tables they wanted. We knew from making the reservation ourselves that there was no option to select a specific table. When my boyfriend questioned her, she backtracked and said something along the lines of, "Well, I mean, no... we just have all the seats accounted for." If the tables were already assigned or there was a seating policy, just tell us that. We would have understood. Instead, we were given an explanation that simply wasn't true. It took about 10 minutes to address the sunlight, and rather than moving us one table back, they eventually brought over boxes to block the light. What made the experience worse was overhearing Tracie, just a few feet away, tell another waiter to take our table. We felt like we were being passed off rather than welcomed as guests. We ultimately didn't order any food or drinks and before we left, we told them how disappointing this experience was for us. We came to Ursa simply expecting basic hospitality, professionalism, and honesty. If you couldn't move us, just say that. We would have respected it. But don't give us a reason that isn't true and then make us feel unwelcome.
