What an industry! I was up north with my family for the weekend and came home to standing water…read morethroughout the first floor of my house. My first call was to a plumber for help. Before the plumber even arrived, three different restoration companies showed up at my door. The strange part? I never called any of them and nobody told me anyone was coming out. I did overhear one of the technicians I allowed in for a "free evaluation" on speakerphone with the plumber asking if a $2,000 finder's fee sounded reasonable. I kept my mouth shut but it definitely raised some red flags. I listened to all three companies separately and then decided to do some serious research online. While some companies have plenty of glowing Google reviews, once you start looking at other sources like Yelp, the Arizona ROC, and the BBB, the picture can look very different. Consider this a friendly warning to homeowners: do your homework. After digging deeper, I was fortunate to find ASAP Restoration. One thing that immediately stood out is that they do not work referral deals with plumbers, do not pay kickbacks, and do not play games with deductibles. They simply focus on doing the job correctly. The team was extremely professional. The mitigation/demo crew handled the water damage quickly and thoroughly, and the reconstruction team has been excellent. We're now about 90% finished with the rebuild and everything is coming together great. I just felt the need to share my experience before heading out for spring break. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, take a breath, do your research, and call a company that focuses on integrity and quality work. For me, that company was ASAP Restoration.

Your efforts saved us more than 50% compared to other companies' estimates for the exact same scope of work something we're still amazed by. The third-party consulting firm was equally impressed with the quality and professionalism demonstrated by your crew. We truly value your commitment to excellence and integrity, and we look forward to working with you again in the future. Overall the best prices I could find for full house restoration service.

The stress of having your home torn apart and put back together from The crazy amount of leaks (8 in my case) is a feeling of uncertainty and unpredictability... this caused me so many worries,  stresses,  and moments of tears. To be honest though,  i learned so much in this process,  and the first lesson was trust! The trust that there ARE people who have gifts that I don't!!! I needed to trust that the gifts of these people would heal my home! When I decided to lay down my feelings,  open up and let go and let things flow,  every stress and worry went away! It started with releasing those stresses when I spoke to STEVE from the Demo dept of Preferred Choice.  Him and his crew were literally like family!!! Super professional..... you know,  it could be easily uncomfortable with huge men around but NO.... these guys were super fabulous!!!! The coolest thing is you realize as professionals.... they're human too and when you talk to them... they really connect and you realize WHY THEY DO WHAT THEY DO and it all comes together that WHY trusting them is important!!!!! It def relived my stress! I adopted them as my brothers lol!!! There's no way I could do what they do! Now,  Steve left me in the hands of Ryan,  again... now scared of transition lol.. but I trusted that if STEVE said RYAN was amazing,  then I knew Ryan was amazing,  because STEVE IS!!! I can't not trust his word now,  he's shown me nothing but honesty, transparency,  and professionalism. Now here's Steve..... SUPER friendly,  blunt but kind,  very transparent which is important because there's no hidden agenda and he provided his AVAILABILITY JUST LIKE STEVE! If i called,  they were there,  NO MATTER WHAT! When 3rd party companies made a mistake,  Preferred Choice MADE SURE TO FIX THEM RIGHT AWAY!!!!! The advocacy the RYAN had for me,  my home, and my family was beyond fabulous! His patience,  follow through,  and advocacy was brilliant! You know,  too prove that relationships matter to preferred choice.... even though the Demo guys were done with their job,  I still got calls from them checking up on us!!!!!! Thank you for that STEVE! There was one worker that stood out the most to me (outside of STEVE and RYAN of course)... They were all amazing,  I just wished I could remember them all (but i remember their faces!).... Buutttt..... A.J. was such a consistent,  hard worker that came early,  stayed late,  kind,  professional,  and asked questions to ensure satisfaction or choice! I LOVE THAT!!!!! HE WAS A TRUE ROCKSTAR n if i could hire him just as my handy man,  he'd be my GO TO!!!! I'M IN THE FULLEST OF GRATITUDE for the hard work and dedication of this company and their people.  They are literally like an extended family, and I wouldn't want anyone else Working on my home with such a HUGE JOB!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU BEYOND WORDS! I OWE Y'ALL A PIZZA PARTY ;) I hope your boss let's me!!!! Love love love Preferred Choice! YOU DESERVE THOUSANDS OF STARS, NOT JUST 5 !!

You know I hate giving 1 or 2 stars reviews but here we go: Preferred Choice Restoration Review -The water softener burst on Friday 8/2 morning, damaged the garage, laundry room, hallway closet, foyer closet, most of the baseboard and partial of the walls inside the home. My plumber stopped the leak and he recommended Preferred Choice and Sarah would take care of all this for me. I should have done some research before just calling, I was just overwhelmed by this damaged and upcoming surgery. -Cameron Friday 8/2 in the afternoon from the Preferred Choice Restoration side of the company came out. He reviewed, marked it up, treated the areas with a spray, left 2 fan for the garage, and one for the foyer closet. He said someone from the company will call and/or come by to check on the process during the weekend. No one did called or come over to check until Monday. -Monday Luis came back to check, review the process, and let us know the demo team was coming out on Tuesday. -Demo team came out on Tuesday, tore out the garage walls, baseboard, grout, closet walls, etc They cleaned very nice after themselves in the house. The garage was a cleaned up ok. They left more fans and a dehumidifier. They did not check to see if all the electrical was worked when they left. I did not realized 30 mins later, some of the lights, garage door, laundry room, etc. was out. I had to call them to come back. They came back turned everything back on. -They removed my water heater during demo, so I assume everything was put back together. Not only we did not have hot water, but it started to leak from there they dwelled the pipes back on. I notified the owner Sarah about the issue. -Cameron came out on Saturday. He only came to remove the fans and dehumidifier. He did do anything about the leak from the water heater and the fact we have not had hot water in the house since they left on Tuesday. He told us to call my plumber to fix it. I notified the owner Sarah about the issue again. She told me to get a hold of my plumber as well. Very fortunate that my plumber is a neighbor and he came by on Morning morning to stop the leak. But still no hot water. I notified the owner Sarah about the issue. -Luis came back on Tuesday and figured out the issue, the demo team from 7 days ago never connected back the electrical element. We had hot water again. I was trying to run my laundry and found out the water spouts were not turned back to on from the demo team. Preferred Choice Construction Review -Jeff the Project Manager came out to see what is to be repaired. He gave me timelines and did call when he was suppose to to advise me of the process. -The construction crew came out on 8/22 Thursday almost finished with the walls, baseboards, paint, etc. They cleaned up well after themselves. -Then 8/28 Wednesday, the Quality Manager came to complete the rest of the repairs, paint, grouts, and review the work. I showed him the constructed areas and what is still left. He first argued with me and did not want to fill the gaps (were the grout was). I was like your company tore it out and I need to back to seal the gaps left by the new baseboards. He said it is not side of the companies issue. When he left I noticed gaps and cracks everywhere (see my pictures). No, I did not call the owner Sarah this time. I had surgery the next day and I did not want to deal with the stress of all horrible experiences with both Preferred Choice Restoration & Construction. I am 1/2 way recovered from my surgery today and now I still have to deal with the gap and grout issues. What a headache! I would not recommend this company to anyone.

This review is for the first one, a bedroom ceiling/roof leak that needed mold mitigation, asbestos testing and renovation. March 2025: Leak originally started as a moisture spot on the ceiling in October 2024 but my HOA ignored it. By March 2025, the ceiling had become so compromised that water streamed in like a waterfall during a massive storm. My original contact was Noah - he gave me an estimate (along with two other companies). I really appreciated how Noah was communicative, informative and thorough. And! he didn't badger me w/ phone calls & emails, like the other two companies did. He understood that I said I would take care of the situation when I could b/c I was in the middle of Massage Therapy school. I understood the "risks" of having mold & just shut the bedroom off. Fast forward to August 2025 & now we're ready to take care of the situation. Noah followed protocol of getting an asbestos test first. Luckily, it was negative. Then Spencer, their Mitigation Specialist? built a special containment room, inside the guest bedroom that sealed off the contaminated area. Heavy duty fans stayed on for about 72 hours? so the area could be thoroughly dried after being treated w/ some kind of mold treatment. Noah was available via text when I had questions - that was surprising & super helpful! Once Mitigation was completed, Noah connected me w/ Jacob at their Restoration Department. He sent over a stellar crew led by David & they proceeded to rebuild about a quarter of the bedroom - meant to mention that they had to rip out dry wall, scaffolding, etc. This crew rebuilt and then refinished the area, including re-installing wainscotting and painting the ceiling + walls. The results? This bedroom looks gorgeous! We were thrilled with how thorough/smooth ATH was w/ this process & how the renovation turned out. Highly recommend this company for their professionalism, flexibility and high standards. Thanks to the ATH Team!

The plumber then says I know a company that help with the mitigation for testing for water damage and asbestos (so naturally I said "great, please get them over here if you can"). Chinto the PM shows up promptly to help and he's a super nice guy to walk me through the process so no issue with him. Next morning the Drylux demo crew comes in and completely tears up quite a large section of my living room (more than I thought was necessary and leaves the dehumidifier blocks in my living room for 2-3 days so that was super fun to listen to and deal with. With my high insurance deductible I was hesitant to pay out of pocket for this because I thought It was going to be much lower than that. Turns out it was just slightly under, but still incredibly unreasonable in my eyes. Come to find out then that there are two separate charges from a company called Valley Environmental Services for $1200+ for testing and then Drylux for another $3000+ for everything else. They do not state that the mitigation and testing companies are sister companies of each other in their invoices. I felt completely nickel and dime for what I thought was a small project. I choose not to use Hyperbilt for the rebuild and honestly glad I didn't after reading all of these other reviews, so I used my handyman who was much less. In retrospect I wish I would have just settled with a plumber and my handyman which would have saved me thousands. Be advised.

We called him on March 15th, he came out on the 17th and let us know the steps and process of what to do. He said to call our insurance (State Farm), assured us that they do a lot of work together and to make a claim. He said to tell State Farm we are working with a restoration company (Slate) and to start the claim. Alex did not give us a quote at this time but wanted us to process the claim in which we did. When that was done he started planning on his equipment arriving and getting the job started. Since she had told us that State Farm is a tricker insurance where he has seen claims like this get approved but also has seen claims like this get denied, we were VERY hesitant to start work and voiced our concern. We also told him we do not feel comfortable starting this process without the approval many times but he assured us by saying "Don't worry, I wouldn't accept this job if I thought it'd be denied" "It's okay, that we don't have the approval because if we don't, it's my job to get the approval because that is how we get paid." Our trust in him got our better judgment and we signed the papers to start work without getting a number estimate but again we have voiced that we want to stop at the threshold of our insurance deductible at $2500 because without approval we did not want to come out of pocket that much. We made it very clear financially we will not be able to go above that as well as move forward without being approved by insurance. Again, he was reassuring us that there is no way that this could be denied. (Texts messages attached of us asking for estimates and saying we need to stay with our deductible threshold) When the crew came on the 20th and started to pack up we had a conversation with the team because they were telling us how they would have to put plastic tarps up, cut out the cabinets (in the areas where the leak was not at.) I could only say "okay" cause I do not know what is right and wrong, what is wet and needs to be dried, I can only trust the company we hired. But when Thomas heard all of this, once again he questioned "why do you need to pull out all these cabinets? The leak is now there? What do you need to cut out the drywall that far? Why do you need to hang up tarps? That will be an additional cost." Which again, at this time Alex and his crew mentioned that they needed to test for asbestos, that they testing would be to our cost. I said, "okay but if it is hot for asbestos, would that make this claim more expensive? Because again, we have not gotten approval and if what is done so far is MORE than $2500 if it is hot for asbestos how much would that add on?" Alex said, "If it's hot for asbestos that will probably be an addition $1500" I then reminded and asked him again, "Okay Alex, remember we do not want to go over our $2500 if we are not approved yet. What are we at right now, cause if we are hot for asbestos and that adds $1500 we are already really close to our deductible. Shouldn't we stop until we get approved so Thomas will not be upset with the total?" Once again, "no, no Michele I am confident we can get this covered" Well, they ended up gutting our kitchen, ripping out the cabinets and ruining them that we can not put them back together, they told us no matter what they would do everything in the least invasive way possible because they needed to take pictures for the insurance company but again with the confidence that they would get this covered explained to us,"it's okay if they are damaged because if the insurance can not find a comparable match to what you have they will need to replace not only the cabinets pulled out but replace the entire kitchen." All of the review in pictures
