Need to replace the laminated wood flooring

This company started restoration for my house on June 2023. The reconstruction was very slow. Collected money from my insurance in advance. An amount of $28726.94 collected from my insurance for replacement of laminated wood flooring. My insurance company advised me to collect the money and find a responsible contractor and finish the work. I signed only one contract on Aug 18-2023 which didn't say about break fee. They made a forged document February 15-2024 stating that I need to pay 20% break fee( I didn't sign any contract which stated that there's a 20% break fee. Ryan forged a contract on Feb 15-2024) Now the situation is I need to find an attorney to get legal help.

Markings of where the water is pooling.

Called Preferred Choice at 10:30 this past Saturday night when we come home to water leaking every where from the ceiling after the rain storm. They had leak detection here first thing the next morning, found pools of water in the ceiling. They set up dryer and a dehumidifier right away to help dry up some of the water before cutting the ceiling open so we didn't have a swimming pool in the dining room. Came back the following day, Monday, to set for demo. When they were done cutting open the ceiling. You couldn't even tell. Their team cleaned up so well. They set a containment so well they there wasn't drywall dust anywhere in our home. There is now dryers specifically directed to the 2x4's in the attic to dry them out to prevent mold. They are coming back every day to check the status. Highly recommend this company. FAST RESPONSIVE KIND CONSIDERATE PROFESSIONAL AMAZING WORK ETHIC

Only nine months ago we had new tile installed and it worried me we would have to rip some out to make this repair. Good Times Plumbing came to the rescue and I was really happy with their work. Our technician, Brandan, was professional, knowledgeable, and polite. He showed me exactly what was going on and relieved my worries when he told me he was able to fix the cartridge without messing with the tile. He also gave me great advice on the mold, remediation and made sure everything was buttoned up exactly like I wanted it. The entire process with Good Times was pleasant and efficient. From the very moment that we set the appointment, they kept me informed through text messages and made great use of the technology, including pictures and an emailed receipt. I would highly recommend them for your professional plumbing needs. They give you three choices on what level of service you want to pursue, but they'll work with you to make sure you get the right repair for your specific need. Well done!

The work described sounded like a thorough repair and the price seemed fair to me so he got to work. When he was done I was very pleased with the quality of work performed. Brandon left the area cleaner than it was before he started. The payment process was easy and pain free. I highly recommend this company if you want good quality work done.

Before the plumber even arrived, three different restoration companies showed up at my door. The strange part? I never called any of them and nobody told me anyone was coming out. I did overhear one of the technicians I allowed in for a "free evaluation" on speakerphone with the plumber asking if a $2,000 finder's fee sounded reasonable. I kept my mouth shut but it definitely raised some red flags. I listened to all three companies separately and then decided to do some serious research online. While some companies have plenty of glowing Google reviews, once you start looking at other sources like Yelp, the Arizona ROC, and the BBB, the picture can look very different. Consider this a friendly warning to homeowners: do your homework. After digging deeper, I was fortunate to find ASAP Restoration. One thing that immediately stood out is that they do not work referral deals with plumbers, do not pay kickbacks, and do not play games with deductibles. They simply focus on doing the job correctly. The team was extremely professional. The mitigation/demo crew handled the water damage quickly and thoroughly, and the reconstruction team has been excellent. We're now about 90% finished with the rebuild and everything is coming together great. I just felt the need to share my experience before heading out for spring break. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, take a breath, do your research, and call a company that focuses on integrity and quality work. For me, that company was ASAP Restoration.

In-fighting: estimator and project manager (Darly and Sonia) not working together, blaming each other and telling the customer it's the other persons fault. The customer having to talk to each, then having to escalate to the owners. The owners not managing their employees (Jim Tax and Christina Tax). Estimating things higher then reasonable: for all estimate and change orders the insurance company not approving the first submission and ultimately the estimate being re-done for a lower price. Double charges in the estimate. Charged for take down of a shower glass, and later charging for the same take down of shower glass in a change order to replace. Trying to maximize their profits and thinking the insurance not noticing which in turn is an extended timeframe for the customer. All change order having to be paid upfront before they do any work regardless on the amount. This is not a Servpro policy, it is this Gilbert franchise policy. I had to pay more than half of the overall project cost before they did one pice of new work besides the demo. The sub contractors took for ever. The tile person worked an average of 5-6 hours a day. They also wanted to collect the final payment prior to the work being done. Stay away

This review is for the first one, a bedroom ceiling/roof leak that needed mold mitigation, asbestos testing and renovation. March 2025: Leak originally started as a moisture spot on the ceiling in October 2024 but my HOA ignored it. By March 2025, the ceiling had become so compromised that water streamed in like a waterfall during a massive storm. My original contact was Noah - he gave me an estimate (along with two other companies). I really appreciated how Noah was communicative, informative and thorough. And! he didn't badger me w/ phone calls & emails, like the other two companies did. He understood that I said I would take care of the situation when I could b/c I was in the middle of Massage Therapy school. I understood the "risks" of having mold & just shut the bedroom off. Fast forward to August 2025 & now we're ready to take care of the situation. Noah followed protocol of getting an asbestos test first. Luckily, it was negative. Then Spencer, their Mitigation Specialist? built a special containment room, inside the guest bedroom that sealed off the contaminated area. Heavy duty fans stayed on for about 72 hours? so the area could be thoroughly dried after being treated w/ some kind of mold treatment. Noah was available via text when I had questions - that was surprising & super helpful! Once Mitigation was completed, Noah connected me w/ Jacob at their Restoration Department. He sent over a stellar crew led by David & they proceeded to rebuild about a quarter of the bedroom - meant to mention that they had to rip out dry wall, scaffolding, etc. This crew rebuilt and then refinished the area, including re-installing wainscotting and painting the ceiling + walls. The results? This bedroom looks gorgeous! We were thrilled with how thorough/smooth ATH was w/ this process & how the renovation turned out. Highly recommend this company for their professionalism, flexibility and high standards. Thanks to the ATH Team!

Cons - The price on the proposal changed without my knowledge or consent. I was told at the end of the job "I will send you an invoice, and the price has changed. I don't know how much yet." Who does that? I never signed a change order or agreed to pay any extra. The communication was horrible. Technically, since no change order was signed I should have only paid the proposed amount. The up charge was $140 so it was easier to just pay it and move on with my life. Otherwise I would have fought it. - The proposal says the prices are subject to change. Watch out for this because they may use that as a blank check to charge you more without your knowledge or consent. They will tell you about the price change once the job is completed which is a terrible business practice. - Gary ONLY knows tile. Don't trust him with anything else, especially plumbing. I hired him because the upstairs toilet was leaking and the tile needed to be redone. I told him the toilet flange was too low and it would need a spacer to raise it up for the toilet install. What does he do? He lays the tile right next to the flange so a spacer cannot be installed without cutting the tile around the flange. When asked about it he said "we fixed it how we found it." That's the problem. How you found it was why the toilet leaked in the first place. He has no outside the box thinking or problem solving skills and didn't think to carve the tile away from the flange. It's not even outside the box thinking. I literally told him that was the main problem and cause of the initial toilet leak. He said he could carve the tile away if it turned out to be an issue. His other employee also said the plumber could easily carve off whatever tile they needed to in order to install the toilet. Yes the plumber will cut the tile for an additional fee of $175. You guys are supposed to be the tile experts. You should know not to have tile next to or overhanging a toilet flange. The Grout Medics were initially going to reinstall the toilet for me and were going to use two wax rings, which is completely wrong. Good thing I am going to hire a plumber to install the toilet correctly, otherwise I would just get another leak again down the road and be in the same position. - They will make it right for you, for a fee. The job was not done to my satisfaction. I was told they could come back and cut the tile around the flange but it would cost a minimum of $129. They could have addressed this issue while they were still on the job site but I was assured the plumber would cut the tile around the flange for me. It was just laziness, lack of knowledge, poor customer service, and not making sure the job was done in a way that would solve the root issue. In conclusion Gary and his crew can lay tile but don't expect them to know how to do anything else. They may raise the price on you without your knowledge or consent. They may install your toilet incorrectly which will lead to more leaks. They may want to charge you even more if the job isn't done to your satisfaction. I will never recommend the Grout Medic to anyone and will never do business with them again.

We called him on March 15th, he came out on the 17th and let us know the steps and process of what to do. He said to call our insurance (State Farm), assured us that they do a lot of work together and to make a claim. He said to tell State Farm we are working with a restoration company (Slate) and to start the claim. Alex did not give us a quote at this time but wanted us to process the claim in which we did. When that was done he started planning on his equipment arriving and getting the job started. Since she had told us that State Farm is a tricker insurance where he has seen claims like this get approved but also has seen claims like this get denied, we were VERY hesitant to start work and voiced our concern. We also told him we do not feel comfortable starting this process without the approval many times but he assured us by saying "Don't worry, I wouldn't accept this job if I thought it'd be denied" "It's okay, that we don't have the approval because if we don't, it's my job to get the approval because that is how we get paid." Our trust in him got our better judgment and we signed the papers to start work without getting a number estimate but again we have voiced that we want to stop at the threshold of our insurance deductible at $2500 because without approval we did not want to come out of pocket that much. We made it very clear financially we will not be able to go above that as well as move forward without being approved by insurance. Again, he was reassuring us that there is no way that this could be denied. (Texts messages attached of us asking for estimates and saying we need to stay with our deductible threshold) When the crew came on the 20th and started to pack up we had a conversation with the team because they were telling us how they would have to put plastic tarps up, cut out the cabinets (in the areas where the leak was not at.) I could only say "okay" cause I do not know what is right and wrong, what is wet and needs to be dried, I can only trust the company we hired. But when Thomas heard all of this, once again he questioned "why do you need to pull out all these cabinets? The leak is now there? What do you need to cut out the drywall that far? Why do you need to hang up tarps? That will be an additional cost." Which again, at this time Alex and his crew mentioned that they needed to test for asbestos, that they testing would be to our cost. I said, "okay but if it is hot for asbestos, would that make this claim more expensive? Because again, we have not gotten approval and if what is done so far is MORE than $2500 if it is hot for asbestos how much would that add on?" Alex said, "If it's hot for asbestos that will probably be an addition $1500" I then reminded and asked him again, "Okay Alex, remember we do not want to go over our $2500 if we are not approved yet. What are we at right now, cause if we are hot for asbestos and that adds $1500 we are already really close to our deductible. Shouldn't we stop until we get approved so Thomas will not be upset with the total?" Once again, "no, no Michele I am confident we can get this covered" Well, they ended up gutting our kitchen, ripping out the cabinets and ruining them that we can not put them back together, they told us no matter what they would do everything in the least invasive way possible because they needed to take pictures for the insurance company but again with the confidence that they would get this covered explained to us,"it's okay if they are damaged because if the insurance can not find a comparable match to what you have they will need to replace not only the cabinets pulled out but replace the entire kitchen."
