Alder Homes took on a small project following water damage. Their sister company, EcoDry, had referred me to the company without disclosing the relationship. The restoration was essentially limited to replacing drywall and kitchen sink cabinet. Every stage of the project was prolonged; it took more than three months to complete. Literally every part of the project was done incorrectly, and every fix--even for obvious issues like being unable to close a cabinet drawer--led to push back and excuses. At one point I had become so frustrated by the delays I fixed the trim and repainted myself. This led to the manager calling and yell at me for "breaching" the contract. On that call, I described frustration because not only was the job dragging on, but the work being done was clearly of much lower quality and value then had been agreed to in the bid. The manager stated it did not need to be valued at the quoted price, it just needed to meet the minimum standards for code. He then stated he was frustrated with me because "it was not (my) money" but the insurers, so he couldn't understand why I would care how much they had billed. Throughout the process, they had attempted to coerce me into signing a "Certificate of Satisfaction and Completion." When I had refused, they had threatened to withhold the depreciation cost (about $200, which they did ultimately withhold) and report me to my insurer, suggesting they would revoke my homeowner's policy. I eventually had to turn to the AZ Registrar of Contractors to get some of the issues rectified. Again, they had issues with deadlines and correctly meeting directives, having to be redirected after failing to properly complete the work the first time and again attempting to pressure me into signing a "Certificate of Satisfaction and Completion." This process all took nearly a year to have my kitchen "restored" to a condition that is not as good as it was prior to working with the company, but apparently meets minimum standards. read more

Worstcompany I have ever worked for. Not ever clear on payroll. I was told Net 15 and I haven't been paid in a long while. The project manager and general manager do not communicate. Near the end of November of 2025, my wife told me that the Alder's representative told her that he would have someone come to the house and finish the work, but since his bonus would be bigger if he had more jobs completed, he wanted more money for his holiday spending and asked her to sign a statement that the job was complete before it was done. -- He doesn't respond to calls or text messages. -- He hasn't sent anyone out to complete the work. Alder Home was the 3rd company within a collaboration of others to come to my home after plumbing water damage repair. The office representatives were very kind, as was the initial reconstruction assessment Rep Brennan. There was a little bit of a lapse of time between the job being tasked to being assigned to project manager Drew. Once Drew was assigned then the timeline was quickly set and all was done within a week. Drew was so very nice. He was professional in his approached and I appreciated that he included me in the plans and kept me in touch of all changes. Sub-contractor Luis did an excellent job in putting back my sink and building back up the walls. Ramon's carpet guys also did a great job. This company is not professional. They send out rookies to do work that is horrible and then argue with you when you want it done correctly. They lied through the whole process and then blame you. I had a pretty simple fix. The sink in the kitchen leaked so 2 cabinets and some drywall needed to be replaced. It took 7 months before I had a usable kitchen again. No running water for 7 months in that simple project is extremely excessive. I had to get new counters since mine were so old they could not be matched up. I agreed to pay $2,500 for the installation. The guys that installed left my entire kitchen a mess. I had sawdust and quartz dust in every drawer and cabinet and the floor was filthy. They left silicone on the walls and on my tile back splash. I reported it immediately. I waited over 2 weeks to hear back from them about clean up and never did. I had to hire a housecleaner to come clean up their mess. That cost me $300 because $200 for the first time and $100 for the second clean up after their "handyman" came to vacuum the dirt and sawdust from under the new counters that was dropping down into my top drawers. He did not remove the drawers saying that his vacuum was powerful and nothing would fall into the drawers. Well, it did so once again I was stuck with the clean up. I had to get the Registry of Contractors and the Attorney General's Office involved to finally get my kitchen done. Before the work was completed Alder Home Craft put a lien on my property for the $2,500. I told them I only owed them $2,200 because I had to pay for the clean up which was their responsibility according to the contract they signed saying the property would be returned to the way it was before the damage happened. Well, my kitchen was not dirty with dusty dishes. They started threatening me. They even went so far as to say they would put a lien on and turn the amount over to a collection company. I guess they don't know that you can NOT collect 2 time for the same debt. Their parting shot was to say they will no longer pay the $200 courtesy cleaning fee. Not only did they get the amount wrong but it is not a courtesy to do the work that was in the contract. As I read through the complaints here on yelp I felt that I was repeating a long list of complaints. I only wish I would have had the foresight to read these before signing on with them. As it stands, they will wait years until I am dead to collect the money that I was more than willing to pay them if they removed the lien and collected the true amount. Save yourself a troublesome outcome and hire someone who knows what they are doing. read more

Be extremely careful if you decide to "try" and do business with them. They visited our home to assess damages and said we had to sign a service agreement prior to obtaining their price proposal or negotiating any specified Statement of Work for the items needing repair. They said: "Don't worry about it. Their is no obligation and we'll just work out the details later." They never got back to us about how that might work with the insurance company and to be reimbursed. He took care of every detail, including items that were extra for me that I appreciated so much as I was already so stressed over the water damage that had occurred. He took my emails/phone calls and messages like a champ. He did not complain one time, but was so helpful every time I would contact him. This company is by far the worst I have worked with. Missed deadlines and unprofessional demeanor. They routinely miss my texts and emails replying back after I have sent multiple texts or finally replying when I call them. It took them 6 months to finish a kitchen remodel. This is after planning has been completed. Once the remodel was completed there are clear footprints that is left on my counters that regular cleaning could not remove. I asked them multiple times to bring someone in to buff it out, but it's been a year and still nothing. Their project managers are a not knowledgeable at all of the type of builds they say they do all the time. For example, I asked how much it would take to make the counters smaller, and he said it might add $10,000 to the project. Probably trying to get money out of me. The whole company feels predatory towards homeowners who are vulnerable after dealing with terrible circumstances since they only do reconstructions. My insurance company refused to release extra money as they tried padding the total amount with unnecessary work. If you are being pushed for this company from another that had to do the cleanup of whatever accident you are dealing with go find another contractor who is honest. I recently suffered some water damage to my outside closet from the condo above's water heater leaking Alder Home Craft is the company I chose to do my repairs. I was very lucky to have Steven Ramos managing my account. It was not a smooth process to get my repairs initiated and Steven dealt with many obstacles in trying to get this fixed for me including a very rude neighbor who he initially was trying to negotiate with for payment for damages, and then my insurance company that was very slow to respond to my claim and pretty much non-responsive. He called the insurance company pretty much every other day and then emailed me as well to keep me updated. Finally he escalated it to the claim adjusters manager, after which I received confirmation of processing. Steven went above and beyond, I feel, in trying to move this process along as well as making me feel supported and informed throughout.
