I've had an idea to combine bed 3 with our master bed ever since we moved in a few years ago but was worried the job wasn't big enough to attract a contractor. Eric replied in no time and emailed an estimate not long after. This job involved drywall (delete a door and add a large arched opening), electrical, custom cabinets, shelves, interior/exterior paint, and a touch of flooring. Eric and his guys did an amazing job. My wife loves the closet they converted into a reading nook. We always felt comfortable with the crew in our house. They worked around our schedule and Eric was always available for a quick check-in so I knew where we were with each step. The two big standouts were the price staying the same even though he did a few extras, and Salvador nailing that 8' high 6' wide arch! We couldn't be happier and would definitely use them again. read more

We hired Eric with E.L. Construction to do a cosmetic update on our home in Phoenix. We replaced the flooring, painted the entire house, updated bathrooms, put in a new fireplace, updated pantry and closets, and did a complete kitchen remodel. The kitchen required removing a wall to open up the closed dark kitchen and adding an oversized bar. Eric was extremely timely and professional in getting us a comprehensive quote. He was also extremely affordable as well. He started work right away and did a phenomenal job. We gave him pictures of what we wanted for the kitchen and fireplace, and he replicated the style to a T - which most contractors can't do without a designer helping them. He also was able to design and order custom cabinets for our pantry. Eric was extremely detail oriented throughout the process, checking in with us as needed for style and safety decisions, and always updated us on cost or possible delays. He also was insanely knowledgable about every area of construction such as dry wall, plumbing, electrical, fabrication, flooring, tiling, etc. This guy really is a one man show - he can do it all. Eric did have a few subcontractors help him with the job and they were always fantastic to work with as well. He knows quality workmanship and partnership. He finished the job in a timely timeframe and our home is gorgeous and the workmanship is quality - for a great price. If you need any renovations done, Eric with E.L. Construction is the way to go. Highly recommend! read more

We hired E.L. Construction to transform a loft area into a bedroom, repair/replace a wall, remove the hearth from the fireplace and to paint the entire interior of a house we recently bought. During the quoting process, Eric was prompt, friendly, and went into much more detail than any of the other contractors on our options and what to look out for in terms of unexpected expenses. His quote was more than fair and I felt a lot of trust with him. When it came down to getting the work done, his crew worked quickly and the final results were exactly what we wanted, even after we threw a couple of curveballs their way. They were also done ahead of schedule! Throughout the entire job, Eric was extremely communicative and kept us posted on any challenges that the team encountered. I can't thank Eric and his crew enough! When we're ready for the kitchen and bathroom remodels in the future, we'll absolutely be going with E.L. Construction then! read more

I had EL Construction come evaluate a patio cover with a rafter succumbing to rot. Eric himself answered promptly, and gave a fair assessment of the repair and the possibility of scope creep and how that would work. When I accepted his quote, he got me scheduled very quickly, and sure enough the scope had to get considerably bigger. The ease of communicating with him made what could be a scary situation much more approachable, and he definitely seemed motivated to treat my home like it was his own. The project dragged on three days longer than expected, but at every stage it was kept protected from the monsoon elements, and the construction made quick progress. The outcome was an excellent work product, everything looking like new, and a fair final invoice. I definitely recommend EL Construction for the hard stuff. Eric tells me he can do it all, too, so I'll be reaching back out to him as the projects come up! read more

I had a small project to update my front entry way by removing a pony wall, replacing the tile, patching up some drywall, and adding a custom built bench/shoe rack for guests to put on and remove their shoes. Eric did an amazing job and I love how everything turned out. He was super responsive and overall just a kind person to work with. He made sure to cover up the living room area while working with the drywall so dust didn't fly everywhere, which I really appreciated. 10/10 highly recommend! Thanks again for everything, Eric! read more

I can't praise this company highly enough. We had a small rental house in Mesa that needed repairs and remodeling to make it safe and comfortable for my elderly parents to move into. What started as a germ of an idea to make the hall bathroom handicapped accessible for my dad with mobility issues, turned into a major project. Due to mold and cat urine from the tenant, we almost had to demolish the interior, on top of discovering that the 70 year old plumbing was crumbling. Eric and Kael were honest, transparent, reliable, skilled, talented, reliable, and above all patient and kind, during what was a stressful situation for our family. They juggled communications and changes between my mom from 3 hours away and the family members in the area with grace. Their work was superb, creating a beautiful little home that my parents are happily settling into. The before and after photos don't do it justice, as work was continuing during and after the movers brought everything in. Thank you again Eric! read more

We worked with Eric to complete extensive repair in our laundry room and garage (drywall, paint, cabinetry, etc.), and were so happy with the work he did. Eric and his team were consistently on time, professional, and committed to going above and beyond to do a great job. His estimate was accurate and the total cost was extremely fair. Would absolutely recommend! read more

I contacted three or four contractors about replacing my kitchen countertops with granite and doing a bunch of miscellaneous handyman-type work. Eric was quick to respond, and was the only one who seemed really interested in doing the odd jobs along with the granite. His price was also a little better than the others. The granite guy did an absolutely perfect job, and the rest of the crew were a happy bunch that actually seemed to enjoy their work. I was especially pleased that Eric managed everything so that the kitchen was only torn up for a few days rather than a few weeks. read more

I have a large renovation needing to be done - kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, the works. Based on the 5-star reviews, I called E.L Construction and spoke with Eric, asking if I could schedule an appointment for an estimate. He told me he had to "check his schedule and get back to me" and for me to text him my address. As soon we hung up, I texted him my address, availability, and name. Days go by with no response. I then sent him another text as a reminder that I had called days earlier regarding an estimate. . .crickets. I guess my job is just too big to handle. Why have me text my info if you're not interested? Just be upfront and honest. So much for the commitment to customer satisfaction that is stated in the company's profile. I dodged a bullet with spending 100k+ on my project with this company - not reliable. read more

I wanted to do a full kitchen remodel and when I say full kitchen, I mean cutting out a big chunk of wall, new cabinets, new hardware, backsplash, quartz countertops, the works. I also wanted new cabinets for my laundry room AND to refresh my outdated fireplace. It was a pretty tall order. I must have spoken with 5 or 6 companies before I found Eric. He was so professional, friendly, and accommodating. He cares about doing quality work and the estimated timeframe he gave me for completion was within a few days. He was also very reasonably priced. I had spoken with companies that wanted to charge me upwards of 15-20k more than what Eric negotiated for me. Definitely recommend his company and will use them for any future remodels. read more

So flexible, patient, willing, and nice! Thank you for making at least one thing in my life easy!!!

An uninsured driver smashed into my mailbox and I needed it fixed. He came out, gave me an estimate, emailed me a formal invoice that listed his valid ROC number, scheduled a time to fix it and DONE. No frills, no wishy washy nonsense, just wham bam and done! Thank you read more

Just moved into our home and needed to have a door installed and some drywall work done to make it look right. Eric was absolutely phenomenal, and we are very particular (the home is brand new). His work is flawless, and looks as if it was that way originally. Great handyman, we will hire again if anything else comes up. Highly recommend. read more

Requested a quote for a fireplace replacement job. EL construction gave me a phone number to send pictures to. He gave me the wrong phone number at first. The following day sent me the correct phone number to send pictures to, and I never heard anything back. That was over a week ago. Sent a follow-up message and still crickets. Must be too busy. Update. After initial review I got a call and text about the job and an apology for not getting back to me. I would have liked to have a better experience because the pics of their work looked good, but unfortunately, it didn't work out. read more

I needed a repair for a door that wouldn't close or lock. I received a quick initial response, and the repair was completed within 24 hrs. The technician, Kaelen, was courteous and professional, and the charge was reasonable. I was very pleased with the service. read more

I worked with Eric a couple of months ago to put roofing over my thatched roof patio. I was probably a pain in the ass customer for Eric as I was woefully unprepared and didn't have the material purchased until he showed up to do the job. Eric wasn't rude with me, even though he had every right to be! I was on my lunch break so I left my credit card number with the guys at Home Depot and trusted Eric to only buy as much as he needed. He bought the material, returned what he didn't need, and had the roof in top-shape within just a few hours. It's been a couple months and everything is holding together and doesn't look like it's going anywhere. The quote we got was more than fair and the quality of his work speaks for itself. I've had run ins with shady contractors and handymen throughout the years, and Eric is a standup example of what you need when it comes to someone you can trust with home improvement. read more

I highly recommend Eric at E.L. Construction for any of your general contracting needs. Eric installed a new door in my hallway that came out perfectly. Seeking quotes from other contractors, Eric was by far the most cost effective. I was so impressed by his work that I have contracted him for several other projects around my house and will continue to use his services in the future. Great service! read more

Eric at E.L. Construction is definitely someone to hire. He was knowledgeable, honest, friendly and cost effective. I hired him to install three pre-hung exterior doors and Eric was upfront with snags along the way, making sure I had a say in the process. I want to point out he singlehandedly did all three doors, and he was pleasant to work with as I was finishing up the door handles and locks behind him. Eric has a construction background and even went over a few quick estimates for other things while he was here, also pointing out good ideas for projects I'll be doing myself. I'm going to have him come back for a few remaining projects and I will be using him for general handyman things I don't feel comfortable doing. Thanks, Eric! read more

Eric is a very knowledgeable handyman. I told him what I wanted with a vision of my own and he put it to life. He is very honest about the hours that he works and his rates are very reasonable. With the fimal result that I received I am very happy with what he finished in my bathroom. read more

Eric with EL Construction definitely knows what he is doing. With his expertise, he was able to design a beautiful master bath. He spent extra time sending over links of certain places to get materials from. He helped me design this bathroom so it was functional for us. We appreciated the professional quotes he sent to us. They were easy to understand and straight to the point. He even wrote a few different bids so we could decide which would be most feasible for us. He got the work done in the time frame he gave us. And it looks BEAUTIFUL! read more
