Sam and the guys did an out standing job with our fence and installed it at a very fair price. They also built a slump block wall to allow us to turn our carport into a garage and removed a block wall to create an entryway. Perfect job which looks like it has always been there. They were very communicative, professional, and courteous. After the job was complete, they cleaned up our yard and the neighbor's yards perfectly. I highly recommend them for any of your fencing needs. They are fantastic! read more

I hired Sunset Masonry for a masonry project that involved coordination between three neighboring properties. While the masonry work was completed, communication and project management were significant issues. On multiple occasions, the project manager initiated phone calls by immediately yelling. These calls included repeated references to cost concerns on other parts of the project which were unrelated to my scope of work. My portion of the project was limited to cutting an opening in an existing block wall and adding two columns for a gate I had already purchased. When the gate installer (one they frequently recommend) came to install the gate, he notified me that the hole was too large for my gate and there would be a noticeable gap. When I contacted the project manager to flag the issue, the response was another phone call in which I was yelled at. While the final result is functional and the gap issue was eventually resolved by adding a piece of metal, due to the communication style, lack of professional conduct, and quality control issues, I would not recommend this company, especially for larger projects or projects requiring coordination. read more

I had a deteriorating wall around my backyard. It looked terrible. I had Sunset Fence come out and quote me for repair and just making it look better. They were out at my house within a day and gave me a quote to repair some cracks and sections and stucco the rest to make it look uniform and just more pleasant to look at. A few days later they were already at the house starting the repair and then the next day stuccoing the wall. I am very happy with how it turned out. My only gripe was that there was some trash(water bottles, gloves, debris) left at the house, but it took me just 10 minute to clean it up. I am mostly just impressed with how quickly this project got done. It took 6 days from the first message to have it finished. read more

Such a great job. Good people. Perfect creation of a 150' squared cider block wall. After 4 years it still looks brand new. Even helped out my neighbors as their rear wall was about to topple. Really, the one and only call you need to read more

The crew knocked it out out of the park! My job was fairly small, but I did not expect them to show up at 5 AM and be done by 10 AM. The end result is exactly what I wanted and my HOA will be thrilled. Would absolutely recommend. read more

Great communication, fair price, excellent work. An all around pleasure to deal with. We had our front yard walled in, with 2 gates installed, including a rolling gate for the driveway, which looks and works great. We were very happy with the experience compared to other contractors we've worked with previously. Stop your searching and call Sammy today. read more

We have just had our block wall extended in Sun Lakes by Sunset Fence, Inc. and we are so glad that we chose this company to complete the job. They took care of every step of the process and for a fee also retained our Maricopa County permit, did the follow up when completed and made an appointment for the final inspection, which we passed with flying colors. This company has been in business for over 30 years and remains a family owned business. Their standards are obvious in the workmanship and the employees, from the initial quote to the final clean up. The crew was courteous and diligent, cleaning up as they went and assuring that we were satisfied when they left. If I had more wall to build I would not hesitate to call Sunset Fence, Inc. read more

Owner was very supportive of the project. Being a new homeowner in my early 20s, was a bit wide eyed at the whole process. Gave me some projects that I could complete myself to reduce the costs. Appreciate the service! Great Wall read more

Awesome family business. Sunset Fences extended our front wall and added a double gate. Beautiful work. Bob Corelli, Project Manager for over 30 years, handled the entire process. All work done on time and cleaned up nicely. Highly recommend for new fence or gate work. Shawn McPeters, son of Bob McPeters whom started this company in the 1970's, started his own venture Sunset Gates. Daughter Amy Dickey now runs Sunset Fences. Again great family business. Highly recommend! read more

Sean from Sunset Fence was an excellent choice. He gave a reasonable price and did excellent work. I would say he went above and beyond to ensure the right colored blocks were in place correctly. Great demeanor. read more

While Sunset Fence staff are extremely polite and professional, they have a $2800 minimum charge for any job, even if the cost of the job is less than that. I had to have a 6 ft block wall repaired after the corner pillar (the supporting column) was damaged. Their pricing is extremely higher (double) than any other quote I received from competing companies; so I did not choose Sunset Fence to complete the job. Just though I would share their minimum charge since it is not posted on their website, nor on yelp. read more

I contacted sunset fence for a second estimate on a twenty four ft. by twelve foot block wall. The 1st came in quite high and sunset fence beat the estimate by $5000. On day one they came in and dug a footing and poured the concrete by noon. The next day they put up all the blocks by noon. The crew was very efficient they cleaned up after themselves and they knocked out the entire project in two days. read more

We had Bob, from Sunset Fence, come out to evaluate the damage to our block fence. Our fence is cracked horizontally, vertically and stair-step. In addition, it is bowed, inward--but, is not in danger of falling. Bob wrote a professional assessment that we have no water damage or trees that would create this damage. He concluded the rebar had suffered corrosion, footings had failed and tree roots (we have no trees) contributed to the damage. His assessment, in conjunction with a arborist experts report, will prove beneficial to us, in the future. We back to a common area retention basin with huge mesquites and have neighbors with citrus planted close to our wall. We water our grass, on a regular basis, and mesquite and citrus are known to seek water. The common area water is turned off, as was our neighbor's irrigation. We'll see what happens, though we plan on spending about $1000 to repair our fence, ourselves. read more

It is refreshing to work with professionals such as the owners of Sunset Fence. The entire process went flawlessly. Every appointment was on time and all the workmanship exceeded our expectations. They built over 400 feet of block wall in 4 days. Just like they said they would. 1st day is footing only so they really built the wall in 3 days. The employees were very hard-working and always on time and always respectful. The cleanup was thorough. The quote process was easy, detailed and accurate. I highly recommend this company for any masonry work. It would be hard to find better customer service than Sunset Fence provides. read more

Sunset Fence did an amazing job replacing our old, damaged wood fence with a sturdy block fence and beautiful gates (I've received many compliments on the quality and look of the gates). Bob was knowledgeable, practical, helpful, and responsive. He went above and beyond to assist with obtaining my neighbor's approval, and was extremely helpful with navigating the City of Scottsdale's requirements. I couldn't be happier with the process and finished product. I highly recommend Bob and Sunset Fence. read more

Called upon Sunset Fence for advice and recommendations. Their response time and assessment/recommendations were stellar.

They did a fantastic job on our privacy wall! They were very knowledgeable and so patient with us while we worked with our HOA for approval. Kudos to the guys who did the hard labor, especially in the extremely hot weather! Price was reasonable too. Would recommend this company to anyone! read more

I put in a request on the Sunset Fence website for a free quote. A day later I receive and email from a sales guy saying they can provide an "On-Site" consultation for $65 (applicable towards work done by Sunset Fence). In disbelief I write back to the sales guy asking why there's a fee for a free quote. Never received a reply. Won't do business with this place. read more

Recently used this company. They did quality work. All employees were polite and reliable. Would highly recommend!

Not the cheapest, just the best. Highly professional from start to finish. We had an unusual situation - a 50-year-old redwood fence overgrown with literally tons of cat's claw vines. The overgrowth was about 12 feet high and 8 feet thick along the 90 food length of our back yard. This isn't the kind of demo Sunset usually has to do, but they quickly arranged for another contractor with a backhoe and large truck to haul the cat's claw away in just two hours! All in all, a great experience, and the fence they put up - in just one day! - is beautiful. read more

Just moved to a new house in STV. I looked online for block wall companies and reached out to a few for estimates. Jim from Sunset Fence reached out to confirm details and sent me over an estimate. The price was fair compared to the competitors, but the level of professionalism and communication was a level above the rest. They handled almost every aspect of the job including contacting blue stake to confirm where they were going to dig the footers. They even helped refer me to a landscape company who needed to remove some plants prior to the wall going up. We are super happy with the finished product and would highly recommend them for wall and gate products. Thank you Jim & Amy! read more

Excellent work. Said it would take 2 days, it took 1 1/2 days to do our 100ft of block wall. Great work, cleaned up well. I checked out several places, asks for bids. They were the most expensive, but were the most reliable as well. Use a licensed contractor, you'll be thankful. We are very happy. read more

This is THE place to work with!! Amy was kind and committed to my concerns. I was worried my wall was weak and that it would fall and hurt someone. She went out of her way to help me understand masonry and my situation. We ended up not needing any work done and they didn't charge me a dime. (They said my wall was good for at least another 6 years). It seams like a small thing, it whenever someone like Amy does her job with that level of professionalism, it truly lightens my day. read more

Sunset Fence does business the way it's supposed to be done. Their customer service is top shelf from the beginning to the end of your experience. They provide complete information and they do so promptly. Prices are fair and the quality of work is outstanding. I had an old wooden fence along my back yard and part of another side, Bob helped engineering the work that needed to be done and came up with multiple suggestions, he professionally worked with my concerns and answered my questions. Bob went above and beyond to do a nice job including moving my stuck to the ground shed out of the way so we have a nice even height fence. I have done some researches and had other bids, but the previous reviews of Sunset Fence, Inc helped me decide to go with them and I'm no different, I highly recommend Sunset Fence to anyone who's looking for a quality work and good customer service. read more

Sunset Fence I hired to raise our fence 2 blocks higher. The super Bob has a bad temper and always has to be right and likes to talk down to you if you don't agree with him. I experienced this after his guys damaged my landscape lines under the block fence even knowing they were there. He said they were not responsible for any damage. I said yes unless it was done on purpose. They dug the ground out and you could see the landscape lines so why would they continue or not be extra careful to not splice it? He didn't want to take responsibility. I took pictures and they spliced them anyway. After going back n forth several times he did finally come out to fix it after I had my landscaper look at it to make sure he was going to fix it correctly. It seems this company only cares about a buck and not customer service. The block they brought was an old grey block and didn't match and I didn't know until the day of. They never told me in advance it would not match so that was a disappointment. After the job was completed the stucco work they did does not remotely match the fence stucco. They stuccoed the top 3 feet with a different texture than the bottom 5 feet. I asked him to come out and look at it and he is refusing to accept responsibility. He expects to be paid 100 percent and I withheld 500.00 so they can correct it and come out and look at it. After the job was completed they never came out to verify it was done correctly. When the workers were done they left and no super ever came back to verify the work was quality work. I understand it won't match perfectly not a problem but they didn't even use the same texture as the existing fence. We had an appointment today to review the work 2 weeks after they finished. He won't even come back and he cancelled our appointment at 2:15 when I waited since 1PM. If you want to work with an unprofessional super who doesn't take responsibility then this would be the perfect company. read more

They couldn't help me but gave me advice on who to call t get the wrk done that I need.

I'm going to have to give Bob a bit of a thumbs down here. We had a meeting scheduled for a couple days out and then the night before he sends me a text basically complaining that I'm too far out and letting me know that he got a better project to work on. Never mind the fact that I might be willing to wait longer or pay more. It's just poor business practice and communication to go that route and not speak with me directly on the phone. I have a big project, so based on the way it was handled I'm feeling lucky that I can move on now that I know now how Bob would handle project adversity...Splitsville baby! Overall he seems like a decent guy on the phone, guess I will never know if his company does good work. Just make sure you don't put all your eggs in his basket in the early stages if you need work done. read more

We rented out our home after having to move out of state and then had to seek someone over the phone/internet to repair the block wall at the rental home. If you've ever tried it, you know it's difficult to find someone from afar to provide an accurate estimate, then do QUALITY work. We feel so fortunate that Sunset Fence did this for us. We felt that not only did we get an accurate estimate, but that Bob was careful to caution us about those things he would not do...just to ensure there wasn't a lack of understanding. We recently visited the property and were extremely pleased with work. This was such a great experience, read more

Amy and Jim were delightful to work with. They were very knowledgeable and always happy to answer all of our questions and we had a lot. They gave us unbiased feedback as we sought to get a permit. Similar to Ed H. review... I called to inquire about their services and although I haven't yet booked, the lady that helped me was very gracious. She quickly google earthed my address and measured my front wall to give a general estimate. She provided solutions they offered as well as some considerations that they didn't offer. She also provided some recommendations and gave me an honest answer in regards to how booked they are. To me, it's always the small things and she provided her time and skill to help me get an idea of what I could expect. They will definitely be in the consideration for the project if my wife can wait till they have time to start the job. Thank you for your sincere help! read more

Sunset Fence just finished our 120 feet of block wall. They arrived when promised and finished on time (a bit early). The quality was clear, and everything was done to code and plans. They even helped obtain the permit. In terms of price, they were in the middle of our bids but with quality consistent with our higher bids. They also fixed a small loose brick as a courtesy, outside the original scope. I was very impressed and I would use them again without hesitation. read more

My neighbor and I split the cost of replacing the wooden fence between our yards with block. This was a large job, as in total I believe 4 separate homes were involved. Jim was our project manager (for lack of proper title) and did a great job communicating and keeping me informed throughout the project. They showed up on time and go to work right away. These guys know how to get things done! Demo, haul away, and almost my entire wall was up in just 2 days! The crew were friendly and focused and did a solid job. Further, Ruben identified an issue with the leveling performed the prior day, which meant he & his team had to do about 4 hours of re-leveling and cutting blocks in order to rectify it. The integrity he displayed is sadly lacking in far too many people, but not this man. He easily could have pretended not to notice. I may have never known, but he did the right thing when nobody was looking, and should be highly commended for that. I only even know about this, because I saw them doing the work over and asked him about it. One of my sprinkler lines was busted during their prep work, which was my fault b/c I had no idea it had been run diagonally, and by the next day when I showed my yard guru what needed to be fixed, I discovered it had already been repaired. I asked Jim about it and indeed, it was him. Outside the scope of his job, but another example of going the extra mile. While they've still a bit left to do, I'm beyond pleased thus far and would recommend this family owned and run business to anyone who asked me for a referral. Oh, and Amy in the office was great to work with as well. read more
