I was in need up an upgrade for my side gate and my research led me to The Gate Man, Lev. From initial quote, to communication and follow through, Lev was great to work with all around. My new gate was installed on time as promised and it looks great. I'm glad to leave this 5 star review. Thank you, Lev! read more

I contacted Lev about fixing a broken hinge on a gate and he was at our house within a few hours fixing it. It was not inexpensive but the work is solid and I will absolutely call him for future needs. read more

Inquired about an estimate /replacement for the gate/door to our patio. He asked me to send him pictures which I did. No response. Not hearing anything, I reached out to him again for his thoughts a few days later. Nothing but crickets. No response. If you don't want the business or can't do it, have the courtesy to respond. Waste of time.... read more

Perfection in his work. Detail oriented. I highly recommend him for whatever needs you may have!

He was quick to respond and was creative in providing a solution to our issue. We had new pavers put in and the Rv gate would not open all the way hitting the pavers. He suggested an easy solution to move the gate attachments up a little bit to create enough space on the bottom to open. No new holes needed to be done in the block and he did the repairs as advised. read more

The repairman was on time for our appointment. He discussed what the job would require and how the gate closure functioned. He worked really fast showing he had done the task many times. I would highly recommend this young man for all your electric gate operations read more

I'm getting too old to repair the RV gate a the front of our property. I called the Gate Man and we arranged a meeting. His price and timing were agreeable and it was just completed a couple of days ago. This was a simple gate by most standards, but it looked really nice. He does quality work at a reasonable price and I highly recommend this company. read more

Lev crushed it! Great overall experience. Easy to work with, good communication, and very reasonable. Gave a lot of different options to choose from. We're going to have two more gates made in the future and glad I found him! read more

Great communication and work was done quickly and great quality. Also response was quick

I called Leo based on his reviews to replace both of our side gates to our backyard. He was very responsive and came out quickly to provide us with an estimate. The final pricing was exactly what he quoted, and the quality of the gate and the installation were outstanding. He was extremely courteous and maintained a clean worksite. I'd highly recommend them and will definitely use them again whenever I need gate services or gate repairs or installation. read more

No response to calls or texts. He installed one gate for me which seemed to be of good quality however the height of the post was less than the height of the gate. After that, wanted to install a fence as well but can't seem to reach the guy. Seems like this is a one man operation who outsources to a third party. The gate installed was also done after much delay of more than a month. Won't recommend unless you have a one time small project. Not a vendor who can work on big projects. The best part is the moment I posted this review the guy calls me and then texted me saying he is on a "family vacation" and can't answer my calls. Till this time, he was ignoring my calls. Go with a different vendor and save a lot of headache. read more

Prompt. Excellent workmanship. Fair price. He repaired one gate and refinished both. Impressive. Recommended.

One of our small entry gates to the backyard had come unhinged. We did a Yelp request for gate people. The request went out to several contractors with a photo of the damage. The Handy gate man and a few others responded very quickly with estimates. The Handy gate man came in with a good bid. We had several discussions with Lev from the Handy Gate man. We found him to be very responsive. We booked an appointment and asked that he contact us when in the area. Lev contacted us as asked. He looked at the job and said he would be done in 10 minutes. He also leveled the gate so that it would close properly. 10 minutes later we were paying for the work. He was honest, efficient and true to his word. Highly recommend. read more

Great work on my New double gate, high quality, professionally done, excellent quality job. Highly recommend.

This business has clear communication up front and does excellent work. The technician showed up on time and completed the job efficiently.

I called The Gate Man to arrange repair of an RV gate at a rental house in Peoria. He called back promptly, gave a fair and good value estimate, arranged with the tenant for service within the next day, and did an excellent job of removing and welding new gate hinges onto the RV gate. The tenant was satisfied, and I was very satisfied. I recommend Lev The Gate Man whenever you need gate repair. read more

Lev got in touch almost immediately and did the job the next day. It wasn't the easiest of jobs as it turned out the ground level was impeding the gate opening, but he suggested a fix which worked. The job was to fix an outside access gate which was grounding, the self-closing mechanism was not working and the lock needed changing. All done within a couple of hours. Highly recommend him! read more

Quick response. Quick repair. I would recommend Handy gate man. The metal latch on my gate was broken. Security is a priority as I have a swimming pool = LIABILITY. Handy gate man responded quickly, was able to schedule, and made the repair/weld. read more

Prompt reply. Next day service. Gate now functions normally. He even painted the repair! Price was as quoted.

Leo was terrific. Very professional, cleaned up when finished and excellent work. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or use him again.

Great and fast service! He gave an accurate quote and the price was exactly what he quoted me.

I had our gate replaced recently after receiving a warning letter from HOA. I had him bookmarked on Yelp for a quite some times knowing I needed a new gate but waited until I was forced to do so. His price is competitive. It's just Lev doing all the work. He is responsive, courteous, and prompt. I felt comfortable working with him and he was able to install a new gate faster than originally estimated. I highly recommend his company for any gates need. read more

Lev rocks! Quick, efficient, no bs. Thanks Lev! This guy is amazing, highly recommend!

Handy Gate Man was a very solid experience. The man who arranged everything was a straight shooter but he got the job done and got it done well. I needed my fence re-anchored and he gave a good, competitive price with a very good job done. I will use them in the future. read more

We had a great experience with Handy Gate Man LLC. Our gate has been repeatedly coming loose from the anchors into the cement pillars. After multiple repairs I wanted a long term fix. Lev identified the original columns were made with low quality cement and quoted us a fair price for two new columns and reinstalling the gate. Super sturdy construction now, should last us for a long time! Would definitely use him again for future projects. read more

Leo does great work at a reasonable price, shows up on time as scheduled, and provides timely updates and communication. He went above and beyond others trying to repair my very old RV gate opener, though a replacement was ultimately needed. He did a great job installing the new opener and I highly recommend him. He finished the job in a few days, even with some unexpected issues. Another company I contacted took a week just to get me a quote. read more

He gave a really fast reply. Came in at a lower cost than competing bids. Gate works perfectly now.

He did exactly what we needed and did it well, would definitely recommend. Price was affordable as well.

I contracted with Lev to put up a new gate based on Yelp reviews. I'd expected some landscaping to be done within about 30 days of that contract. The 30 days became more like 90 with all of the landscaping delays. Lev was extremely patient through the whole process. When we finally had him put up the gate, he was on the spot and got it done in a matter of hours. The old gate was over 30 years old. The new gate is so nice that it makes the house look bad. ;-) If I can, I will post a picture but suffice it to say that I am grateful to the Handy Gate Man! Highly recommended! read more

Quick response from The Gate Man. Worked with my schedule and showed up on time. Replaced a broken latch and the old wood slats. Work done quickly but professionally. Good value as a few others who responded actually quoted more than double the price. read more

Fantastic work! Efficient, honest, affordable. Highly recommend. Let me preface this with I hired another gate repair company off Yelp prior about a year ago. Not only did they take a $600 deposit and block me but after receiving multiple quotes the second go-round, I realized they WAY overcharged. The deposit was more than Handy Gate Man charged total! Don't let that happen to you, stop your search here! read more

Lev built and installed a gate for my neighbor, I went to talk to him about replacing ours. He is very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I recommend him to anyone needing a gate replacement. I think the turnaround took 1 month. 2 Weeks for the Masonry team, and 2 weeks for the gate built, installed. He hauled off the old awful gate and ensure to make sure we had a secure strong gate. Price quoted was the price charged. read more

What a total scam. Reached out to him to fix an automatic gate that wasn't closing. He gave me a call and said he inspected it and that there are 2 batteries in the unit. Each battery lasts about 1.5 years and the date written is 2020 so it's about time they need replacements. He said that it was giving a bunch of error codes because the unit wasn't getting power and was on the fritz. He also said "I happen to have everything needed to fix this with me right now. Total cost would be $300 for the 2 batteries and $75 to reset the codes" Well, I reached out to my boss to see if it was okay to get this fixed, and my boss reached back saying there are no batteries for the gate and everything is plugged into power. I head over to the boss' house the next day, and sure enough, everything is plugged in. I pulled up the manual online, and watched 3 Youtube videos. All I had to do was use a basic screwdriver to take the cover off, turn off a single switch, unplug something, and plug it back in. There was no code resetting necessary, because I ran the error codes and it said "99". According to the manual, 99 means that everything is A-OK and running perfectly. So all in all: He lied about the problem, and was 1000% ready to charge $375 for something that just needed to be unplugged and plugged back in. Even if we did need the codes reset, it would have been two buttons that needed to be pressed and he would have charged $75 for that. What a joke. Nothing pisses me off more than handymen that prey on the ignorance of the general public. read more
