After that, wanted to install a fence as well but can't seem to reach the guy. Seems like this is a one man operation who outsources to a third party. The gate installed was also done after much delay of more than a month. Won't recommend unless you have a one time small project. Not a vendor who can work on big projects. The best part is the moment I posted this review the guy calls me and then texted me saying he is on a "family vacation" and can't answer my calls. Till this time, he was ignoring my calls. Lev got in touch almost immediately and did the job the next day. It wasn't the easiest of jobs as it turned out the ground level was impeding the gate opening, but he suggested a fix which worked. The job was to fix an outside access gate which was grounding, the self-closing mechanism was not working and the lock needed changing. All done within a couple of hours. Lev identified the original columns were made with low quality cement and quoted us a fair price for two new columns and reinstalling the gate. I contracted with Lev to put up a new gate based on Yelp reviews. I'd expected some landscaping to be done within about 30 days of that contract. The 30 days became more like 90 with all of the landscaping delays. Lev was extremely patient through the whole process. What a total scam. Reached out to him to fix an automatic gate that wasn't closing. He gave me a call and said he inspected it and that there are 2 batteries in the unit. Each battery lasts about 1.5 years and the date written is 2020 so it's about time they need replacements. He said that it was giving a bunch of error codes because the unit wasn't getting power and was on the fritz. He also said "I happen to have everything needed to fix this with me right now. Total cost would be $300 for the 2 batteries and $75 to reset the codes" Well, I reached out to my boss to see if it was okay to get this fixed, and my boss reached back saying there are no batteries for the gate and everything is plugged into power. I head over to the boss' house the next day, and sure enough, everything is plugged in. I pulled up the manual online, and watched 3 Youtube videos. All I had to do was use a basic screwdriver to take the cover off, turn off a single switch, unplug something, and plug it back in. There was no code resetting necessary, because I ran the error codes and it said "99". According to the manual, 99 means that everything is A-OK and running perfectly. So all in all: He lied about the problem, and was 1000% ready to charge $375 for something that just needed to be unplugged and plugged back in. Even if we did need the codes reset, it would have been two buttons that needed to be pressed and he would have charged $75 for that. What a joke. Nothing pisses me off more than handymen that prey on the ignorance of the general public. read more
