Sebastian and crew did a great job tearing down and replacing a collapsed block wall pillar and re-hanging a gate door. Sebastian provided me with an immediate estimate over the phone and was available to complete the job on Sunday. The job looks terrific and the gate door works even better now than before the repair was needed. read more

It's been ten business days since I paid a deposit for a new gate. Sebastian was available to return my request and estimate of work but has disappeared since the deposit was made. No measurements have been completed, no installation work has begun, and I have not received adequate communication regarding the status of the project. At this point, I believe I was scammed. I am moving forward with legal action and reporting. Beware, dont get scammed out of your hard-earned money. UPDATE: Within a minute of posting this review, Sebastian called and texted. Received our money back. read more

Not a licensed contractor. I called and asked for their contractor license information and whether they were licensed. I was told they are not licensed, but that they could "get one." They appear to be violating multiple Arizona contractor licensing, insurance, and bonding requirements by claiming the "handyman" exemption. In Arizona, the handyman exemption applies only to projects under $1,000 and is subject to other legal limitations. If a business is willing to disregard Arizona contracting laws and withhold that information from potential customers, what else are they willing to cut corners on? It's difficult to have confidence in a company that chooses to ignore legal requirements rather than be transparent. Buyer beware: Hiring an unlicensed contractor can leave you with little or no consumer protection backed by the state Registrar of Contractors. if something goes wrong. Always verify a contractor's license before hiring them. read more

Our pool company's demolition subcontractor damaged our existing side yard gate. So I had to get it replaced because one panel is literally pulling the stucco off the side wall of my house! I contacted several businesses and Sebastian (Gates The Right Way) came off as efficient, honest, and knowledgeable. He came out, did the measurements and gave us a bid. In a little over a month, we have a brand new gate installed the right way (with a new metal post in concrete footing instead of attaching it to the side wall with toggles). The gate looks great and we are already getting compliments from our neighbors. read more

Sebastian is fair and honest with his pricing and gates. I had received quotes from 5-6 other company's and they were either more expensive or booked 6-8 weeks out and I did not have time to wait. From the day he came to measure the wall to give me a quote to the day of install the process was seamless. He showed me examples and I really liked the gates he does as you are not able to see through the slats like other gates. He was able to get my gate done within a few weeks and installed in an hour. I highly recommend using him for any gates that you need, I had a 14ft rv gate installed with composite slats. I will use him in the future if needed, thank you again! read more

Sebastian and his crew did a great job, rebuilt the cinder block column, did the stucco on it, and got us a new gate installed. Major upgrade from what we had before read more

We needed to remove a section of our block wall and install an RV gate for a new trailer. Sebastian came out and gave us a quote. Not only was the price one of the most reasonable of all we received, the photos he showed of prior jobs impressed us. stainless steel bolts and powder coating the gates were suggested upgrades at a minor cost increase. His mason (paid separately) actually set the 3" posts in concrete, where other quotes were 2" and affixed to the existing columns. This was extremely important to us, as the other companies wouldn't guarantee against sag and stated in contract sag correction would be an additional fee! He included upgrades as "standard" some things other companies offered as additional cost options, or not at all. Like using 3" posts, "privacy panels" (not sure what he called the panels), and using 4 straps to secure the slats to instead of three. He was able to get the work done and gate installed many weeks earlier than the other quotes too. The 12 ft gate looks fantastic, and I know we made the right choice in selecting Gates the Right Way for our project. Minor hiccups: powder coating delayed by one day as the coater was only doing white the scheduled day. Sebastian's quote could have been a lot more detailed, but in our case he remembered everything we talked about and it was not an issue in the end. Over all, I highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to hire them again. read more

Very prompt, which is impressive considering that the job was scheduled on a Sunday. Wonderfully detailed and thorough in that they completely refurbished the gate, more than replace the wooden slats. I had a side gate that was extremely weathered and in need of replacing. I came across Gates The Right Way on Yelp and contacted Sebastian to get a quote. He came out that Friday at 6:30pm and showed me pictures of different styles and explained the advantages of composite over redwood. For a little extra I went with the composite and agreed to have him install it two weeks later. Well, by the following Friday he had it ready to go and in 30 minutes had it replaced. I have to say I was amazed by how it looked. Not only can you tell this is custom made, but the appearance is top notch. The fit is perfect and the latches open and close with a touch of your fingers. If I ever decide to replace my RV gate next you can be sure I'll be contacting Sebastian again.
