First Impressions Ironworks recently built and installed a security screen door for our new home. The selection of styles and the available options was outstanding. We selected a door with an opening glass inner panel. The door was completed as fast as we could obtain HOA approval, built and installed within 3 weeks. The door is fully functional and beautiful. The installation was fast, efficient and professional. The installers gave us care and maintenance instructions and ensured that the door fit to perfection. They completed the installation with no issues or problems, which is a testament to not only their expertise, but the construction of the door. We will use First Impressions Ironworks for any other projects we come up with for our home. read more

We recently purchased a gorgeous new front door from First Impressions Ironworks after admiring a similar door at a neighbor's home, and we couldn't be happier with our decision. From start to finish, the entire process was easy and enjoyable. I'm so glad we visited the Gilbert showroom to finalize our choice. Every door on display was absolutely beautiful, but the one we selected--the Santa Fe Iron Entry Door with Nail Heads, finished in Antique Bronze, with a twisted bauble-style handle--was the perfect complement to our pueblo-style townhome. One of our favorite features is the amount of natural light it brings into our living room. The space feels brighter and more inviting, and we especially love being able to open the glass portion of the door to let in fresh air while still maintaining security. The craftsmanship is exceptional. This door is incredibly solid and substantial--it honestly feels more like a vault door than a typical front entry door. The quality and sturdiness give us tremendous peace of mind, and the rich Antique Bronze finish on the steel door gives our entryway a timeless, elegant look. We had originally considered refinishing our old wood door, but with estimates approaching $4,000, we decided replacing it entirely made much more sense. Looking back, we're so glad we did. Our new door has completely transformed the appearance of our home and was worth every penny. We couldn't be happier with our new door or with the overall experience we had with the sales and installation teams at First Impressions Ironworks. Their professionalism, craftsmanship, and customer service made the entire process seamless. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a beautiful, secure, and exceptionally well-built entry door. read more

I'm incredibly disappointed with my experience. My gate was left in an abhorrent state. First Impression ripped out my pavers to install the post with no plan to reinstall the pavers. The excuse given was "we don't do masonry" - then hire someone to do it. To make it worse, they originally agreed to send someone out to fix the pavers, only to retract on it. That alone should tell you that they know it's not an acceptable state to leave the project. How could you ever think this is an acceptable state to leave someone's gate? read more

I absolutely love my iron entry door from First Impression Ironworks! It is stunning, and I have received so many compliments on it. My salesperson was knowledgeable, delightful to work with, and incredibly helpful in guiding me through every detail--from the glass and finish to the locks. Her years of experience were evident, and she made the entire purchasing process easy and enjoyable. The installation was much quicker than I expected, and the installers were professional and courteous. I couldn't be happier! It's not just a door--it's a statement and a true work of art. I would enthusiastically recommend First Impression Ironworks! read more

This is our second purchase from First Impressions. We had a security screen installed and now a security Side gate. The processes have been smooth, from the in home quote, to install. We love the quality of their products, you get a great product. On the high end for price but The value is exceptional. read more

I can't tell you how disappointed we are with the quality of the workmanship involved with the doors we purchased. Not in our wildest dreams would we expect to have powder coating not last or show flaws on such expensive doors. To have as many cracks in the finish, to me, is obvious a workmanship issue. Out of the 3 doors we have, and looking more closely, cracks (which lead to chipped paint) shows up on both sides of the double door, which is crazy. Our 3rd door shows no sign of failure. To add injury to this situation, the company quotes us $6370 to repair, where the original cost $8280. Why didn't you just say, we'll sell you a new door and screw what we already paid!!! I will never recommend this company to anyone I know as, obviously, there is an issue on potential failure of the product. read more

They did a great job. Couldn,t ask for a better experience. Quality work and looks great.

After admiring the curb appeal of our neighbor's First Impressions gate in Desert Ridge, we decided to check them out. We ended up ordering two gates--one for our courtyard and one for the side entrance to our backyard. While they cost more than what you'd find at a big-box home improvement store, they are worth every single penny. The quality, feel, and even the solid, secure sound of the latch closing are top-notch. What blew us away most was the turnaround time: once our HOA approved the design, both gates were custom-built and fully installed in just seven days. Highly recommended! read more

The courtyard gate we had installed is beautiful and looks so great on the house. Beautiful workmanship! Only hiccup was that the first time they came out to install the gate it didn't fit. The measurements taken by the sales person were incorrect and we had to wait another couple of weeks for the gate to be reworked. We lived with a couple of large holes in our courtyard during this time (they were covered by large bags of dirt). But all worked out in the end. Very pleased with the outcome! read more

Our new door looks great. The customer service during the entire process was smooth and communication was excellent. We went to the showroom twice and each time, all of our questions were answered and we never felt rushed, Paula was great. I needed a new gate and a salesman come out. First, he didn't contact me beforehand as I was told and just showed up. The excuse was he didn't have my cell, okay. The next thing I know he is trying to sell/show me the product between houses where he is showing me some dinky I-Pad in the sun. I had to say, Hey, let's sit down. He goes over a few things and his knowledge on the products is minimal. Not only that, but he tells me what I wanted (would have added some $$ to my product) isn't used often. It's a lock... really? Away he goes, checks that he has my email and tells me he will send me a quote. That was a week ago. I have since picked a more reputable company. I feel bad for these guys since it's like a selling door to door, but he could have made a sale if he was knowledgeable. Shame on you First Impressions for sending this guy out. Home shows and massive ads in our neighbor mag can't make up for this behavior and waste of my time. EDIT: Rebecca, my comment was to let you all know without blasting this sales person's name. A phone call would have went no where. I checked every spam folder, etc. and there was nothing. There was not a stitch of communication after he left. I have already moved on and picked a reputable company that did everything right. Sometimes you only get one chance. read more

This company is awesome! Ever since they installed my security door in 2020, every interaction has been professional and efficient. They are on top of it! I still love my security door (recently had to have them come and take it off and replace it after getting a new front door. It went as smooth as silk). Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to get a high quality, secure and beautiful security door. read more

I am disappointed with my experience with First Impression Iron Works. During installation of my security door, the installer used an improperly sized bracket that damaged the vinyl cladding on my existing door. A second door installed the same day did not experience this issue, demonstrating that the damage was not unavoidable. The damage compromised the door's protective vinyl surface, which serves as a moisture barrier, yet the company characterized the repair as merely cosmetic. I spent $4832 and despite obtaining a professional repair quote of $325 and making numerous attempts to resolve the matter cooperatively, the company declined responsibility and offered compensation that does not cover the cost of a proper repair. I expected a company with their reputation to stand behind the quality of their workmanship and take reasonable steps to restore my property to its pre-installation condition. read more

This was my 2nd purchase from First Impressions Ironworks. The front door I purchased 10 years ago is still beautiful and I love it! I purchased 2 upgraded security doors for my back doors and they are just as beautiful. All of the doors are high quality (would probably be standing even if the whole house fell down! LOL) along with improving the aesthetics of my home. David was my salesman for both purchases (10 years ago and now). He was knowledgeable and easy to work with. The whole process was smooth easy. Installation was scheduled quickly and the installer was courteous, efficient and professional. I would highly recommend them! read more

First Impression Ironworks We chose to go with First Impression for our security doors based on our previous experience, which was great. This is the third house we've owned with their doors. While the prices today were considerably higher than what we had paid in the past, we decided to go with them based on our past positive experiences. Our new doors are beautiful. They are more solid than in the past and were manufactured and installed much faster than we expected. We ordered the front security doors with a digital lock and were told by the salesman, Shauwn, that the lock would work with Alexa. When we ask the installer how to set it up, he said, "just Google it. It's very easy." Famous last words. We spent hours trying to connect the lock and change the default code. Eventually, we learned the model that was installed required a separate hub in order to work with Alexa. The hub hardware costs an additional $150. We called First Impression and asked if they could help us. They said we had to call the lock manufacturer. We asked if there was an alternative lock available that was Wi-Fi-enabled. We were told that there was not. The options we were given were to remove the digital lock and have them put on a deadbolt or to install a digital lock that was not Wi-Fi enabled. It was hard to believe that after spending as much money as we did on our six doors, they did not have a WiFi-lock alternative. Because First Impression could not meet our needs, we had them remove the digital lock, and asked if they would install a lock of our own choosing. They refused our request and left our door without a lock to secure our home until we could get our own lock installed. What good is a security door without a lock? What started as a very easy process became a big mess, with the company not stepping up to resolve the issue. With our purchase of six doors, you would think they would offer a better solution than a useless lock that Home Depot sells for $99. We were disappointed in the follow through and customer service we experienced while trying to get this resolved. Multiple phone calls and text messages didn't lead to a satisfactory resolution. Our advice: if you decide to buy from First Impression make sure you know what you are getting and don't believe everything the salesperson or installer tell you. Otherwise, you'll have a mess on your hands and the company will leave you high and dry. read more

All was good with our door but it was close to $7,000 and never was completed with a stoop cover. First Impressions quotes me extra for something that should have been part of the deal after the fact. The extra stoop cover was not mentioned in the bid and seemed odd because this is what they do as a business. Had to get it completed elsewhere. For future customers I would ask if the price quoted includes everything. read more

from start to finish everything went great. i love my new door. follow up from company. its a good company to deal with.

This is my second security door from First Impressions. The first door is still beautiful and functioning just as well as the second door and is over 25 years old. They are worth the price, I purchased a new door for my retirement home and know the door will last and be beautiful for years. The extra's like the wreath holder allow me the pleasure of enjoying all the different seasons and holidays. The new turn lock feature that is key less on the inside is a big improvement over the double key door. Like the stainless-steel screen much better than my previous choice. All of the features allow me the pleasure of opening my door and the safety of knowing that no one can enter without my permission. Thank you for a great product and excellent installation. read more

I saw a friend's security door and she stated it was installed by First Impressions. When I went into the store Derek was awesome. He was very thorough and explained everything about each door we inquired about. I had issues with my HOA and Derek was very prompt in getting the information I needed to relay to the HOA. Once I received the okay, Derek came to the house and measured the door. I received several calls and emails from Michele to make sure the installation was going to go smoothly. On the day of the install I received a call from Alan letting me know the time frame the door would be installed. Alan and his brother completed the install and it looks amazing. For what I paid for this door I am very happy. It looks amazing. Based on my experience I would recommend First Impression Ironworks to my friends. read more

Initially we were very satisfied. The build quality, installation, and process all seemed good. However after less than 2-years, the door latch wouldn't work. They sent a crew out to fix it, putting a new latch bolt in because the "older" ones were faulty. All good - except they charged a $100+ service fee. I must say that after contacting FII management, they immediately reached out and correct the charge. There were friendly, helpful, and apologetic. The original gate to my courtyard was falling apart. I asked First Impressions Ironworks to match a new entry gate and wall fencing to match my security screen door. From the original meeting to discuss the project to the final installation was impressive. The quote included all parts, design, labor and removal of old product. Very straight forward with no surprise fees. The design team exceeded even what I tried to imagine. The installers took extreme care to make sure everything was aligned and functional. The quality far exceeded that of my original gate and fencing. Everyone was courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend First Impressions Ironworks. read more

So, after checking out Lowe's and Home Depot and a bunch of other places, we finally went with First Impressions. We got a totally custom security door - a square frame with an arched top, which nobody else could do! We even picked the arch's curve ourselves. It's super well-made and high quality; you really do get what you pay for. They installed it in under two hours, the guy was great, and I'd totally recommend them. Remember, quality costs money. We purchased a courtyard gate and paid in full . It was contingent on HOA approval , the HOA rejected the proposed gate style . We called to have the sales person to come out so we could pick another style 8 times , 8 times we spoke to someone gave them our name, address, email, telephone number etc .. all said we will get back to you . One time the sales person called and made an appointment, he never showed up and never called . Mean while they are sitting on our check .. long story short we ended up going to the bank and cancelling the check for our peace of mind , they have never contacted us , don't waste your time with this company , they are expensive and unreliable read more

UPDATE: I've been a Project Manager since 1995, I know how to schedule work, First Impression does not. Super rude lady just called me (the owner?), lied to me some more and called me a liar. And they are now mailing me the chain stop. THIS COMPANY IS GARBAGE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, do not call them!!! See review below for the details. Original review: The door is OK..... Good Build quality, Good Install, I only had to ask to have a few things buttoned up when he was done. So not bad. The service is where they fall flat on their face. When I purchased the door, I was told I would be called a day or two in advance and given an install window. This is a very important point to me and I will not do business without an install timeframe. FACT. I was called a day in advance and told to be home between 8 and 9 AM, the day of the install, and someone will call me with an install time frame. FACT!! They refused to give an install timeframe the day before the install.. FACT!!!! YES, HELD HOSTAGE... I could not make plans for Saturday because I had zero idea when they would arrive. A waste of a Saturday...... My 2 biggest pet peeves when hiring a company, don't lie to me and don't waste my time. Then they didn't bring the chain stop that is supposed to be inclusive. I have called several times, still no chain stop, ignored... I wish I had gone with the other company now. I do not recommend. After that nasty phone call, quite the opposite. Get your door elsewhere. read more
