We recently had a security door put on our house in Prescott, AZ. Our installer was Mike and he travelled up from Mesa to perform the work. Both me and my wife are extremely pleased with the salesman, the fellow who came to measure, the correspondence, timeliness, fine craftsmanship of the door and the professionalism of the installation! What great experience, start to finish! My only regret is that we didn't know about First Impression Ironworks several years ago. Overall I'm very happy with First Impression Ironworks and my door is beautiful. The only issue was my door became very squeaky and took several service visits plus giving them a previous lower review to get noticed so my problem would be taken more seriously. The final solution shouldn't haven taken so long to figure out. I would still highly recommend First Impression Ironworks and I already have to several neighbors. I would just say if your door is taller and wider then average you ask for an additional hinge to be installed because their standard is 2 which does not support the weight of such a heavy door which caused mine to keep pulling away from the frame and become squeaky. read more

Just as others have mentioned, both my security doors with the Slim Line handset broke. First Impressions offered to replace doors with 20% discount. Why would I buy another door from them that costs more than I originally paid & bad customer service? You can not replace the Slim Line handset or locks. They are a no name brand no longer made & cut outs do not match other sets. We paid a locksmith over $700 to configure & cut metal to put another set in to make it usable. It actually took more time but he did not charge us more. First Impression was of no help at all. Terrible customer service & materials used. read more

Oh my gosh! I love my new security door from First Impression Ironworks! It was just installed today by Mark, who spent two hours making sure everything was perfect. The quality is top notch and all of their doors are custom made in Gilbert. I ordered my door in late November, so be prepared for a wait for your door to be fabricated. It was worth the wait! We used First Impression years ago to replace our front door with an iron door and experienced numerous issues and after several repair visits the issues were met to our satisfaction. Recently, we contacted First Impression once more for security doors for our double french door and a single door. The doors were delivered and installed with severe scratches on the door frame and visible rust showing thru the powder coating. What we received were poorly manufactured doors. Another crew came out to repair, by painting the iron doors to cover the defective areas along with having to align the doors correctly that were not aligned properly during the original installation. I sent an email with my concerns to the director of customer services back in mid October and to date have not received an acknowledgement or a reply. Our experience was far from the superior quality noted on their website. read more

Expensive, but extremely high quality. Very happy with the custom gate, which 1 exception. Only issue I had was that I asked for them to include a gate stop since the gate opens INTO the house (which is not ideal, but had to be done due to anchoring issues). Day of the install comes and the installer had no idea what I was talking about. Not the end of the world, but now this heavy iron door hits directly into the wall, which if done with force can do some hefty damage to the house. read more

The final day of installation the tech didn't arrive, by himself, until 3:30 PM to install 3 doors. This was after coming to Mesa from the west valley. We moved into our home 3 years ago and the previous owner had installed First Impression doors, gates and fences. Without a doubt the best quality and most secure screen door on the market. We spent 17K on our Grand Door. They sold the sizzle, which is fine, but never reached out and took care of us afterward- FRONT DAY 1. 1. NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: Our sales guy acted like he didn't know who we were, YET he visited us the weekend before. He Said we went w/ the best company around, negatively talking about other companies. 2. INSTALLATION DAY - INCOMPLETE PRODUCT: Installers NEVER came to the house with a complete door- after 6 weeks of fabricating the door. 3. INSTALLATION DAY- It took 1.5 months to complete the door frame - they said 10 weeks, but they meant 10 weeks to install the door from the beginning to end.... Maybe a day's worth of worth after it was built. 4. PROBLEMS WITH HOA: They reamed us that this door wasn't completed in time = STRESS We live in a higher-end master-planned community- Las Sendas in Mesa, AND ALL WE ASKED is that they SET THE EXPECTATIONS AND COMMUNICATE TO US THE TIMELINE!!!! Probably the most ridiculous hard sales pitch I've seen in a while - and I'm in sales! So we schedule an appointment for a measurement of the main door and three side doors. When the day arrives, 2-3 weeks later, sales rep asks which doors we are considering. I show him the front door and the rear patio doors. He comments that the patio doors are "standard" and would need to measure the oversized front door (which is what I thought he was there to do anyway). I say ok, let me know if you need anything. My wife then mentions that she needs to get on a work conference call and retreats to the home office. Rep then asks me which door option we want. I tell him that once he measures and gives us options then we will select which doors. He then mentions that he only measures "when you're ready to buy." Wearily, I look at him and tell him that we wouldn't be wasting our time having him in our home during the workday if we weren't "ready to buy." Does he need to see my bank statement or anything?? He then starts to give me his iPad to select the doors from a selection of 18 pages. I don't touch other people's dirty iPads (and that has been so way before Covid), so I decline and ask that the send us the link to review and we will select the doors. Again, he is adamant that we select the doors and that he can't measure unless we do. I tell him that it would had been wise if we had known that before the appointment and if we were sent the link of the 18 pages we had to choose from. Additionally, there was no way I would make a selection without my wife's input. I then led him to the door and wave goodbye (and he could wave goodbye to my money and his commission). First Impression's VIP service on my gate was excellent. I reached out to First Impression because of dings from workers moving equipment into my yard. The gate looked new again when they finished - plus they took care of the hinges and lock to make sure they were functioning properly. I highly recommend this service and plan to have them service my gate every other year going forward. (5-stars for their VIP service and customer service communication.) read more

This review was prompted by my personal experience and a fellow Yelpers experience. Their "Lifetime Warranty " is not a lifetime warranty. We bought a very expensive front door for our home from their Tucson location. The bottom of the door has worn out and base plate shifted. Door will no longer shut tight. Seeking a local service call but The Tucson location closed its doors. I called inquiring about a replacement of weather stripping and remount of base plate I was quoted 1. Service call 2. Parts 3. Labor totaling almost $200.00 for my "lifetime warranty " $1500.00 security door. When questioned about my "warranty " I received an "uppity" answer similar to other negative reviews. Service call or drive to the valley to pu needed parts! I redrilled the base plate and have to live w the rest. Obviously won't use again. read more

I recently ordered an eye-catching Front Security Door. It is fabulous. I ordered it to enjoy the fresh air, while ensuring safety. I love the mesh is made of Iron, which enhances personal safety. The quality of the door is impressive. The value, is completely reasonable when considering the Quality and safety. I highly recommend First Impression Ironworks. In Fact, several years ago I had ordered two other doors from them. They make the process very smooth. Too bad there isn't a negative star. BUYER BEWARE! My husband and I had a sales rep Shawn come to our home and give her sales pitch. We were interested in buying doors (double) to replace existing ones. She promised us the moon and the stars telling us that Ironworks would take the existing doors out, put the new doors in. On their second visit they would install molding.. EVERYTHING she said would be done and it would be perfect. We put a deposit down of $10, 700 and waited for the rendering from engineers. This took two weeks to get. They said additional measuring had to be done and sent their engineer out to measure and cut a hole in my drywall above existing doors. Shawn had said that it was 50 percent down which we paid. We finally received the rendering. My husband went to stop for gas and the credit was declined. He called the credit card company and was told that First Impression Ironworks had deducted another $10,000. The door was supposed to be paid for in full after it was in and the molding was on. It took 3-4 days to have them credit the credit card. When I asked how that mistake could happen, billing department said she didn't know. Now we look at the rendering they sent us and we noticed that in small print on the side of the rendering which we were to sign it said, "CUSTOMER ACKNOWLEDGES FII (First Impression Ironworks) is not responsible for stucco, drywall repair and/or touch up that may result from removal of existing product or the installation of new product with a signature line. Do they actually get away with this with customers? Do people sign off that the company that is installing the door won't accept any liability for the work that they perform? We called the sales person Shawn who said, "Oh, I didn't know they put that on there." I told her that I would not proceed ahead with the purchase of over a $20,000 if the company doesn't stand behind their workmanship. She called her corporate and they told her, "No, they have to sign it. We can't be responsible for drywall or stucco repair.". Shawn offered me $350 off the purchase price if I signed it. I told her I was not interested in that and if I was told that information when she came to do her sales pitch, we never would have did the purchase. I asked that we get a refund of the total amount charged. Her bosses told her that they would do that but $360.00 would be deducted from the $10,700. Don't waste your time & money with this company. They do not stand behind their workmanship and charge you money after trying to deceive you. Shawn was a great sales gal. Too bad she works for a shady company. read more
