I recently hired Rock Solid Concrete to pour an 8x12 concrete slab in my backyard for a shed, and working with Charlie was one of the best contractor experiences I've had as a homeowner. Before finding Rock Solid, I actually hired another concrete contractor because their quote was a little cheaper and they had decent reviews. Unfortunately, that decision ended up costing me time and frustration. The contractor never came out to look at the site beforehand and relied only on a photo I sent. When the slab was poured, it ended up several inches out of square and badly sloped, which made it completely unusable for placing a shed on top of it. Thankfully I was able to get my money back and have it removed, but the whole experience reinforced something many homeowners learn the hard way: the cheapest quote is rarely the best value. That's when I reached out to Charlie at Rock Solid Concrete, and the difference was obvious right away. Charlie came out in person to survey the site, explain the grading and prep work needed, and walk me through exactly how they would make sure the slab was square, level, and reinforced with rebar since it would support a structure. On the day of the project, Charlie was involved from start to finish. He checked measurements, supervised the crew, and sent photos and updates throughout the process so I could see each stage -- from forming and rebar placement to the final finish. The professionalism stood out. The crew respected the property, kept the area clean, and worked efficiently. Once everything cured, I checked the slab with a level and it is perfectly square and perfectly level, exactly what you want when placing a shed or structure on top. Charlie clearly takes pride in his work and treats every job as if it were on his own property. Rock Solid's quote wasn't the cheapest one I received, but after seeing the result I can confidently say it was worth every penny for the quality and peace of mind. Charles and his team completed a job for us last week and they have exceeded our expectations. After seeing the awesome 5 star reviews on Yelp and Facebook, we knew we'd be in good hands. From his first visit a couple months ago to see the yard, to going above and beyond, we have had an outstanding experience. We communicated mostly thru Yelp via messages and I must have messaged Charles over a dozen times with questions and design changes. When we had to postpone due to delays with HOA approvals, Charles was able to push us back to his next available date. He made sure to answer all questions in a timely manner and was able to do everything we asked in our design. He had a packed schedule, but did not overbook to give each project the time it deserved. We ended up having a walkway put in from the driveway to the side gate, a 6 ft pad behind the gate, 2 1/2 ft wide square steps to the back leading to a 12 x 20 ft concrete slab, and a full patio extension to match our existing covered patio. Each day, Charles and his team arrived on time and immediately communicated any issues that came up. The first day, the site was prepped which included setting up the frames for the concrete pour, and even included taking out most of the weeds in our backyard. The second day was a little shorter, but involved putting together the frames for the square steps and other prep work. The last day was prepping plastic to cover the house and surrounding areas, and of course the pour and finishing. Everything was completed as requested and the area was always cleaned after each day. There were a few hiccups with the concrete company they had come out, but Charles and his team made sure to fix all issues and we were very happy with all the work done. You're in good hands with Charles and you can tell he cares about the homeowners he works with. When things fell through with our landscape designer, my wife and I were looking for a dependable contractor to help us transform our backyard. Our main focus was to have a section of concrete replaced along with installation of our new paver patio and bbq island foundation. We had several contractors give us bids, however, Charlie (owner) was probably the most thorough and spent time to explain everything and answer all our questions. Charlie is one of those old school contractors that say it how it is and will take the time to explain everything. You can tell that he's experienced in his craft and is willing to share his knowledge. Although his crew was booked solid for a few months, it was well worth the wait. Charlie shot me a text 2 weeks out and confirmed the start date. He showed up on time and completed the job a day early. There's no doubt in my mind that he and crew have a strong work ethic and are willing to make the customer happy. Don't be afraid to give him a chance. If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would. Let me start by saying I own a home that I wanted to do projects to upgrade my backyard and my patio area. I essentially had a blank canvas to work with so I could dream up what I wanted and get some work done. I had my roof extended over my patio, and needed a couple slabs of concrete poured to double my patio size and reach the end of my house. I also wanted another foundation poured for a future shed. Then I decided to extend out my pool deck with some pavers, and make a paver pathway from the patio to the pool. I had several contractors stop by to give me quotes, most wouldn't even quote me because they had minimums for square footage for a concrete pouring job. I got frustrated and somehow stumbled upon No Limits Concrete and Construction. Charlie came by and quoted me ON THE SPOT, no waiting for a few days for a call back. After accepting the job, Charlie communicated EVERYTHING. EVERY detail, timeline, the communication with him was outstanding, something most contractors are terrible at. He prepped the areas in 1 day, which included getting rid of a dirt mound that was muddy from a rainstorm. Unfortunately it rained again and he couldn't complete everything for a few days, but when he came back, he finished the entire job the 2nd day. I was amazed at how quick he worked. I'm so happy with the outcome, it's a great start to the beginning of building a beautiful backyard for me and my family. Two of them said "send me pictures and measurements. They emailed me their bids. Charles was the only one that came to my property. He did the measurements, gave me my options. I reached out to No Limits Concrete and spoke with Charlie on (Tuesday) February 26 had a great informative conversation. Charlie came out that (Saturday) March 3rd. I told him everything we wanted to do in addition to our budget. Charlie gave many options and what would be best for price. I didn't feel pressured to anything. By then I already felt like a valued customer. He was open to our needs and was set out to make it happen. Me like many others once the ball gets rolling I set out to finish. I asked Charlie how soon I could get things scheduled, but unfortunately they were booked up for the time frame that I had hoped. (Sunday) March 4th Charlie gave me a text notifying me of a cancellation and can get things started as soon as (Thursday) March 8th under the condition that the person before me didn't want to take the spot. Luckily that person wasn't ready and we got penciled in. (Tuesday) March 5th Charlie came out again addressed some questions we had and by (Wednesday) March 6th had our deposit in and ready to go. We felt so much better knowing we had an invoice from an accredited business. (Thursday) March 7th Charlie and his crew were already out bright and early prepping the yard. The following day (Friday) March 8th Charlie came back out for the delivery of the pavers. Making sure they were the right amount, size, and colors. His attention to detail was way more than we could ask for. (Saturday) March 9th the whole crew was out to starting laying the pavers. The crew was top notch. They were fast and efficient. Meticulous about their work. It was evident that they took pride in their work. Even courteous to our neighbors when things were about to get loud and dusty by notifying them when they were in their backyard. We were told it would take two days to finish and they were done same day with no corners cut. I could not have asked for better work. Everything turned out exactly the way we wanted.
