It easy to judge a company when everything goes well, but the true test is when there are problems. I hired Diamond Stone to redo my front landscaping. The salesman, Jr, was great. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and cool under pressure. Jr told me from the first meeting that the thing that distinguished Diamond Stone from other landscaping companies was that they would keep coming back until we were satisfied. I found out that this was in fact true. We had some bumps and hiccoughs along the way, some on my side and some on theirs. When the project was completed, the seam in the turf was more visible than it should have been. They sent a crew to stretch it, but it still wasn't perfect. Jr suggested waiting a couple of months for the weather to warm up and they'd try it again, and if it didn't work, they would replace the turf. I told him I'd wait to write a review until the turf issue was resolved. Last week they came back out and re-stretched and cleaned the turf. I'm happy to report, it looks fantastic! So, as promised I'm writing my review. If everything went perfectly, I would have given a 5-stars. Instead, I'm giving a solid 4-stars and I will definitely use them again for any future projects. read more

I had an ugly, 1970s crumbling cool deck, and Bilal came out and made his suggestions about what would work best for the situation. We went with travertine, and had to demo the concrete because it was old and leaky. I was concerned about our pool being made of fiberglass with the concrete demo right beside it, but it was fine. The bulk of the work was done in 3 days. Outside circumstances caused some unexpected issues but Bilal handled them well and resolved everything. I trusted him with quality control. We have done a lot of renovations in our backyard. One project was to expand our travertine patio by about 600 sq ft. We called around after researching companies on Yelp, of course! Some places didn't want to gas up and come out to give quotes. I get it, gas is expensive. But, for a major job like this, it takes money (and time) to make money. We had DSSG quote several projects and this time we were impressed with how Daniel presented the job and company. We chose them and we are extremely pleased. The crew they sent out were professional and they were like artists. They sloped the patio in a way it had 3 slopes to guide rainwater away from house and pool. They cleaned up well afterwards and finished the job in one day. Our gate was tough to close and I called Daniel. They sent a guy the next day to fix the problem. I decided to go with a different company. I just don't think the sales rep heard all I was asking so estimate didn't have everything in it. He was at house Sept 23rd and as of this evening Oct 6th I was still waiting for a question to be answered. Originally on 23rd I was told I'd have estimate that evening or next morning. Didn't get for couple days. He was even an hour late from his updated time given to be at house. It took several days to go back and forth and get a revised complete estimate on what I wanted. Then today I was told I'd have to pick out rock needed. Never was mentioned when I asked about extra for bare spots. Getting answers to questions took longer than I'd hoped. I know people are busy, but if you want to make a sale you should respond to inquiries about the project and at least pretend you're interested in customer's business. I didn't feel that way. I give 2 stars for competitive pricing. read more
