Michael and his team did an amazing job on our back porch. We had some beams that were breaking and the support beam cracking. While doing that I decided to get our porch tiled. We did pay half up front for supplies for the porch shortly before the project started. We picked our own tile and purchased that ourselves and had that ready. Everything looks great. They took the time to do our tile right, they noticed our slab was uneven and took the time to even it out before tiling it. The end result is great. We had quotes with different companies and the cheap ones were estimating w/o even looking at photos and expensive ones were over charging also w/o specs. He actually took the time to estimate the project by visiting our home and looking at the details. Fairly priced and on time. Couldn't be happier with the results. I never do reviews unless we are amazed. Jerry installed our bookcase/door, even when the Murphy Door company sold us something that couldn't fit the space. They should hire them for advice/consulting. When anyone else would have given up the job, they reverse engineered the door and even added a reading nook. Michael showed up on time to give me a quote. He said he was booked up for about 2 weeks and I said ok. He called back in 2 hours and said he had another job in the neighborhood and could come out the next morning around 10. I had a doctor's appt at 10:30 and my wife was going to be gone until 10:45 or so. He said I could pay when done. Worker showed up around 9:30 or 9:45 and began work. I left at 10:10 and had a check made out but not signed when I left. Wife came home and paid him. Seems like they did a good job. Price seems a little high for a 2 hour job (plus time for estimate, etc). EDIT: Forgot to say what the job was!! A post holding up the middle of my patio roof was rusting/rotting out at the bottom. We were having a heck of a time finding someone who was interested in fixing a really bad oven hood install from a previous owner (anyone who says flippers are adding value hasn't been inside a flip) basically a good hood was installed poorly and it didn't vent to anywhere and so on. Michael came out to provide an estimate the same day and came back a two days later to complete the work. Anyway. We have a solar inverter that looked like it might be blocking our exit and we live in a 100 year old adobe over Brick. The wall we needed to get through ended up being three layers of Brick thick with steel plating partially blocking our vent out. He talked through the added labor needs and still finished the job same day. The hood vent works great. We didn't ask for any cosmetic repair so we can't speak to any finish work, but the job was done right and on time and with these old houses so much can go against the plan. Michael repaired two French door threshold entry's for me two years ago. I was very happy with the work and decided to have more improvements made to my home in Scottsdale. He changed interior and exterior lighting to led, replaced faucets in 2 bathrooms, helped install internet mesh units, brought in a pool company to replace old equipment, installed batteries in interior shades throughout home, replaced burned out lights in several rooms and replaced fan blades in exterior entertainment area. Michael was prompt in answering my yelp inquiry and showed up during time quoted. The job was to have 2 vessel sinks replaced from 2 existing vessel sinks. Hired him to redo our bathroom, the estimate was for complete drywall in entire 7x 7 room) and bathtub enclosure which we already had, plus raising some pipes. He showed up, right off the bat he was missing a part, and had the indecency to ask my husband to drive to Lowes to get it for him. He raised our pipes, ended up doing enclosure, which he required my husband's help with, by the way, and ended up doing drywall only around the tub. He free handedly cut the drywall, almost ripping it, no tools involved but the box cutter, he ruined our brand new Delta bathtub enclosure by not cutting the hole for the faucet correctly and completely ignored the fact that he was supposed to drywall the entire bathroom per agreement for the price, which we are now grateful for. He refused to install the shower valve we requested and insisted to keep the one from 1974. At the end of the job, his total price was 500 bucks more than quoted, he actually rounded it up to the full amount of a stimulus check we all just received, for a shoddy, ridiculous job he did, not forgetting the fact that he did less than 50 % of the job we hired him for. Instead of mudding the drywall he installed around the tub, he kept suggesting to us to actually tile it, and we were agreeing to it just to get him to finish and leave our home. We ended up getting him to return the extra amount he charged us, but considering the hideous job he did, and the fact that he did far less than he was supposed to, we are still considering filing a small claims case to get our money back. Couple of days after he ended up calling us telling us that even the pipes he raised were not correct and he used the wrong parts, recalled, demanding to come back and redo it. We refused. My husband is a big DIY guy, but he has a bad back, so i wanted to hire a handyman to help, but we are ripping his entire work and redoing it ourselves, plus we need a brand new enclosure, which will cost us 400 bucks Please think twice before you hire him, the guy is a swindler with minimal skill. Here are the pictures of his work, which we are now ripping out. Reply to Michael's comment: We paid you 1200 in order to avoid the fight inside our home which we hold sacred, and we never entertained the idea of tiling our bathroom until you showed up. Even so, you were supposed to drywall the entire bathroom, because one NEEDS WALLS IN ORDER TO TILE THEM! I have news for you, you are not qualified to be a handyman. read more

After reading so many positive reviews, I had high hopes that Michael would be able to complete the project at my home - resealing my deck and doing some drywall work. He sent me a quote ($580 for the patio and $75 for drywall repair) and I asked him for a breakdown of the charges. The following is the exact text exchange: Me: What's the breakdown of your bill? Materials and labor? Michael: $580.00 For the patio floor and $75.00 Patch the walls Total: $655. Me: No, the breakdown of the patio floor. Labor vs. materials cost? Michael: I don't have a breakdown I gave you a price for labor and material if that is not enough for you I cannot help you I'm sorry good luck Me: Sorry, I was not intending to offend. Just curious as to what terials cost and how many of hours of labor the job might need. Michael: Be safe and good luck. I found his answers to be unprofessional at best and shady at worst. I think any contractor should be able to give a breakdown of their expenses, if the expenses are REASONABLE. Even if it's just an estimate. I was very disappointed in this interaction. read more

We inquired for Michael regarding various items for repair at our rental property. He went out to the property and then charged a ridiculously high amount before clarifying with us first his charges. He did not properly fix everything on the list and the painting was sloppy. That was disappointment because we had used him two other times for smaller projects. Every time we used him he was prompt to respond however then he would be really pushy to get paid immediately and he would never clean up after himself and said that wasn't included in his quoted rate. I do not trust this guy, he is in it for a quick buck, not for doing right for the customer for the long haul. Be careful if you don't get a clear quote with him ahead of time or he is then says the project turned out to be more complicated so tries to charge more. And you have more than a couple of items needed be careful because he is very disorganized and gets sloppy trying to be really fast all of the time.
