I'm writing this review to commend Mike Tedder, the Mitigation Manager at the Show Low office of Damage Control-AZ which specializes in restoration services for fire, water, mold, contents, and structures. When I contacted my insurance company to file a claim for a sewer line break under my manufactured home, they contacted Mike Tedder who immediately called me to make an appointment to assess the damage. He discovered that not only was shoddy repair work done by the plumber I originally hired, he also diagnosed a second sewer line break that the previous plumber charged me for but did not detect/repair. The break was not recent; consequently, there was ample evidence of the break that the original plumber should have detected. Additionally, there was water damage to the sub-floor in the first bathroom. Had Mike not found this and corrected it I would have had a much larger problem! As soon as Mike diagnosed the problems he immediately began the repair work which took several days and on two occasions he continued his work into the evening hours! Mike showed me how he diagnosed the problems and he communicated the repairs at each and every step. Mike is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated to his work and to his customers. I cannot recommend Mike Tedder highly enough and I will definitely rely on him for any repairs in the future!!! read more

Pros - they promised to work with State Farm who listed them as an "approved" contractor - they completed the work .......eventually.They have not refused to come fix the (many) mistakes they made ( yet) Cons - they took many months to complete the work that should have taken a month or two tops - many days/weeks there was no one here working at all. A few times when I came they had a child working on my floors upstairs ( with his dad I assume?) They got the final payment amount wrong so I had to be charged again months after 'completion' They have had to return at least ten times so far to fix mistakes. - on the cabinets, the floors, etc. I dont know if they are trying to run out the warranty but it has been over TWO YEARS since this began and 1 year since they were paid the final amount for 'completion' Do yourself a favor and fight with your insurance company yourself and get a company that will do it right in a reasonable time without becoming a part of your life for YEARS (and not in a good way) read more

Garbage service, garbage communication, garbage quality. Constantly looking at a way to get over on you with materials. Craftsmanship ha!.... Communication and property respect. I trusted these guys because our local fire chief seem to have them in his back pocket. It was still smoldering and the chief was pushing them on us..... Horrible process throughout the restoration. My water heater flooded my garage in Oct. did a little damage to the dry wall. They came torn up about 2 feet of dry wall took off my base boards. Cut out the carpet that had water damage left the room 1/2 carpeted. Several months later I still have a room with 1/2 carpet missing dry wall. They gave my insurance company a quote $5000. Which they are charging $2,500 to paint a 1 car garage. I don't know what to do my insurance company paid them. For unfinished work. I have contacted them several times with no response. I would have better results saved money if I didn't use my insurance. It would have cost less then my deductible. read more

DC Restoration is the best, you wont find any better! They took care of us like no other contractor could. Our problem began with what we thought was a small water leak near a window and some rotting of an area of our hard wood floor. DC Restoration brought in a project manager and started working with our insurance company on the repair. However, they quickly discovered the water damage was much more significant that was evident on the surface. They uncovered rotten floor sub-structures, trusses, and weight bearing beams on all 3 stories of our home. Due to the newly discovered complexity of the job, DC Restoration brought in one of their owners to manage the work with his unmatched expertise. DC Restoration, solutioned all the water damage issues, coordinated with the sub-contractors and our insurance company, and even helped us pick out tile and paint options. In the end our home looks better and is in better shape than when it was built. These guys are true professionals and the very best at what they do! I am going to do this review in sections. I called Jim and he came to the house next day. He is always nice and pleasant to be with. We signed the paper and he said I was next and he will start next week. Next week came and went with no call. Took 2weeks before I got the call. I won't take a star cuz I used to be a tile contractor and sometimes jobs take longer. The crew came today and we talked about how I would like to live while the damage repair goes on. No arguing, just work. They made a great plastic wall so I have my side and they have theirs. So far, 5 stars. 3 and I can't find anything wrong with these guys.. polite workaholics.. Still 5 stars. Now I have my property back. However, my bed frame is broken, they broke a $400 sculpture, and stuck clothing that was never cleaned in boxes with clean clothes so they stink too. I have worked 30 hours thus far doing the inventory I paid them to do. They completely took advantage of me as I am physically disabled and was unable to do this myself. I fell for sonny's sales pitch and thought they would do their job. I also need to wash everything agin because they stuck things that were non salvageable in with clean things. Had several issues with this company trying to get our kitchen repaired after a plumbing leak and subsequent mold damage. The damage control side of the business which took care of the mold remediation was excellent. Prompt, courteous and had the problem done on time. The restoration side was a challenge. Tiles on the floor and walls were broken and scratched. Paint was applied that was the wrong sheen. Cabinets were not reinstalled properly and the appliances that were moved were not installed correctly. After several frustrating calls and empty promises we ended up going a different direction. read more

I'll add to all the other bad reviews! Its really sad because my flood mitigation was done promptly and I couldn't be happier with the dry out. Unfortunately the restoration piece was a nightmare. The work that was done was good. The communication by Don was the pitts. I am still waiting for the drawers to be built into my vanity, and I'm sure they were paid by the insurance company because I signed off as complete with one item needing work. They are slow slow slow for minor work. Believe me I will never use them again! My husband committed suicide by shooting himself with a shotgun. Next to his truck with an open door. The guys came out that night to do the cleanup, so service was fast, and they were very kind. When I finally could get myself to look at the truck after a few weeks, I noticed that there was still a lot of stuff all over the door frame, grab handle, headliner, dash.... in my state of mind at the time, I just couldn't deal with it. About another month later, I was finally able to make myself go out there and clean up the mess that they left behind. Essentially, these guys picked up the bigger pieces, took out the seat cover, and called it good. Then they charged me $450 for the job. Maybe if you can inspect the job before they leave, they'll do better, but in my situation, I couldn't, and it just wasn't good. read more

D.C. Restoration DON'T even bother using them, they are unprofessional and slow to do the work. I had some water damage in my home in February it's now middle of May and I'm still dealing with them. I call them and they never call me back. They say that they're coming and they never show up. I've had to call my insurance several times to deal with DC Restorations and once I put in the complain then that's when they call me back. They work very poorly and sloppy. I had my bathroom redone and they did a shitty job doing this. They stained my carpet and never came to clean it up. I'm so pissed off at them and I with I could give them less than a one star. Literally the worst company I have EVER worked with. They charged me over $9000 for the cleaning of my cupboards after a fire. Not only that, but after 6 weeks of waiting for them to come paint and even longer of waiting for them to return and reinstall my cabinets, they return broken and still dirty. They did some work on the flooding of the AC. My friend called them back because they kept putting off the time they were supposed to finish the work. 12 DAYS LATER and after numerous calls and messages to DC restoration they still never got back to the client about finishing the work they started. After they finally called back, the client complained about them not getting back to the client to finish the work. They did not even apologize and told the client to use another company! Recently had a broken water heater that flooded the house because of improper slope to garage floor by builder. The water ran in to the guest room and beyond instead of flowing out the front of the garage. Beware! Our insurance company engaged the services of this company, they came and surveyed the damage immediately, and then scheduled the appropriate contractors to replace insulation, replace drywall, paint, clean and sanitize the carpet, etc. Instead of me as an individual having to get the appropriate sub-contractors, everything was handled by DC Restoration in a pleasant and professional manner. Brandon Cluff was assigned to us as the project coordinator and he gets an A++ for his knowledge, skill, and customer relations. DC Restoration came to our house to fix the roof and interior water damage to our house. They did a wonderful job and communicate very well along the process. They were pleasant, very professional and efficient while doing their work. The initial estimate phase to the final clean up were all good experiences for me and my wife. They allowed us to do a final inspection and when we had questions or concerns, they either answered the question or fixed any minor issue that we brought up. We even had some flashing come up during one of the storms, post repairs, so we called them and they were out that day to check the roof and fix the flashing. I can't say enough good things about this company. My apartment flooded and Damage Control was contracted with my insurance agency to come out and take care of the mess. Blake was so amazing and understanding when he came out to assess the damage and go over with me what will need to happen the next couple of days. The following Day, Gilbert and Eric came out and took inventory of everything and were so understanding while I cried about the memories that I lost. They were so amazing and professional! The next day Luis came out with his team and of course Eric and Gilbert, and they packed everything and moved me out of my apartment. They helped me find a storage space close to where i'll eventually be moving to, and when I got the wrong size, Luis advised me to get a bigger space with air conditioning so nothing gets damaged in the AZ heat. I seriously can't say enough good things about them and how they helped me. From beginning to end, the entire team was just incredible. My life was flipped upside down over night and my apartment complex was so rude and inconsiderate about my loss. I had to be out of my place in a weeks time, and this company was absolutely incredible! I would recommend them to any and all people who need this type of assistance during a transition. USAA Insurance convinced the homeowner to use DC Restoration for the damage caused by the water heater rupturing. Upon notification that the garage, the kitchen, part of the dining rm and a tiny section of the living room had water damage, I called a carpet and restoration company to come out and pull the wet padding and put fans on the carpet and slab. I also called a plumber to replace the water heater. We were all at the property within 1 hour of my being told about the damage. The owner called USAA and later I met the DC Restoration guy in charge, Brandon. He did a write up of the damage to give to USAA. The work should have been completed in two weeks. Unfortunately DC Restoration doesn't have their own workers and they pass off the work to a sub contractor, who then has his employees or some laborers do the work. I found most of those laborers did not speak English and some had no idea what they were doing, nor the tools to do the job properly. The 2 week job turned into 2 months. The 2 supervisors didn't know anything about repairs, never came or called when they were suppose to meet with me. They never let the tenant, an elderly lady on oxygen, know when they were coming. Finally Mike, the owner of the company, came in and got the job finished. The painters who painted the garage used cheap, flat paint and proceeded to get paint over several items that belonged to the tenant. I have never worked with such a horrible company and I have been a property manager for 34 years. read more

Buyer Beware! This company was contracted by the insureance company to cover a flooded basement. The ground level house was boarded off (hard screwed to walls to build a new wall) to avoid contractor traffic upstairs. The contractor expressed dissatisfaction with the fact it was walled off. At a later time, the contractor broke in to the upstairs to measure carpet and never requested access. In the process, they destoyed a dry walled wall and knocked wall decorations to the groud as they demoed the temporay wall. They claim to have called and got no answer, however they left no messages. This company is a horrible contractor with poor ethics. Do not let them anywhere near your home. They deserve 0 stars but the system forced me to 1. read more

They gave us a detailed timeline (and have stuck to it religiously) and we have weekly meeting to walk through the house and discuss the progress and renovations. Damage Control was arranged by our insurance company to pack out our belongings due to water damage so repairs can be done. The crew that came was amazing. They showed up on time, called ahead to say they were on the way, were courteous, organized, efficient and helpful walking us through the process. Everything had been covered in dust from the demo work and they wiped it down as they wrapped and boxed things up.
