my fiancée originally booked this place for bday dinner reservations. he's never been & i was hesitant since i've heard nothing but bad things but decided to give it a try anyway. i should've trusted my instincts. service was horrible. you'd think for a "high end" restaurant they'd at least fake it. nope. food was mid at best. ambiance? there was none that i witnessed. it got to the point where we felt uncomfortable, & when the waiter asked if we were celebrating anything we said no- we just wanted to get out of there. i wouldn't recommend this place if you want good food & good service. read more

Great food, service and drinks. The atmosphere was beautiful. I am always skeptical of places where the decor is really nice because a lot of time they are lacking when it comes to the quality of food , however, this place exceeded expectations. I will say the service was a bit slow , but we were celebrating our anniversary, so it didn't bother us much . read more

Wow!!! Ambiance Decor and style is elegant, presentation , food was DELICIOUS this place is amazing.. you would never know you are in Downey once you walk in. No offense to the city of Downey.. I live there but this restaurant makes you feel like you are in Beverly Hills. George our waiter went out of his way to make it special for our anniversary!! I recommend the Coco Chanel drink, the Enchiladas Del Mar was so filling, tasty and big portion as well as the Risotto w/Salmom.. We will be back!! read more

Ambiance is nice, very friendly staff. Great place for birthday celebration. Good food selection.

The food at DIOSA is over-priced and mediocre tasting, at best. Downey is already saturated with less than average Mexican restaurants. We need ones that are affordable and have healthy, delicious food. It's a shame because it's a beautiful restaurant. I really did enjoy the decor. DIOSA, I think you belong in Los Angeles, not Downey. read more

My boyfriend made reservations for Valentine's Day at 10:40. When we arrived, the valet situation was definitely weird. We parked our own car, but the attendants still charged us $10--without actually parking it for us. It didn't seem right, but we just went with it. When we walked in, the host was nice and let us know that OpenTable had supposedly double-booked, so we'd have to wait 45 minutes. Not exactly what you want to hear when you have a reservation, but we decided to stick it out. The experience was almost bad, but thankfully, the food, drinks, and our amazing server, Alan, completely turned it around. He was attentive, friendly, and really made the night enjoyable. Honestly, if it weren't for Alan, I think we would have left feeling disappointed. read more

This place used to be so good! I am not sure what happened! I've been there a few times and would not go back again. The lobster quesadilla isn't any longer on the menu, the margaritas taste like Acapulco cheap margaritas the food was extra salty so was the rim on the margarita!!! Such a dead appointment for such a beautiful place read more

Review is overdue! Finally tried Diosa out for Mother's Day and they had a prefixed menu but still had their entire menu open. My family and I were all happy with our dishes and didn't expect the quality to be this great. The ambiance and decor inside and out was beautiful and gave a West Hollywood restaurant feel. Prices were pricey, as expected, but honestly the food made it worth it. read more

Different from what I expected, but in a good way, had a very decent large menu selection, which I did appreciate the food was definitely more on the pricey side, but the taste was good the drinks I love the presentation definitely Instagram worthy but a little bit Sweet , and I'm not a big fan of sweet drinks because they give me headaches . The service was amazing. Our host made sure we had a great experience and everything we need while we were visiting. He checked on us multiple times without asking for anything and even when they made a slight mistake he had no problem fixing it for free of cost. the ambience is definitely amazing, the decor, the set up everything absolutely beautiful. I wish I could've had a whole photo shoot I was able to get a few pictures in but not as much as I would like to, so I definitely have to go back to try more food, and the desserts and get more pictures and, my overall experience and I will give it a eight out of 10 only because like I said it's a very pricey Place like for my pasta was $130 and then the drinks been $20 an up if you do the math at the end the bill was pretty pricey, but a good overall experience I will be back. read more

I absolutely loved this place! The ambiance is gorgeous! I came with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. The service was great, they were very attentive. My food was delicious. I ordered the chicken al pastor plate, the chicken was cooked perfectly. It had a little spice that I wasn't expecting but loved, it was served with pineapple, cauliflower, rice, beans and tortillas. My drink was nicely made and so pretty (mariposa). They also gave me complimentary churro ice cream for my birthday. If you order water they do charge for it. It is bottled water but we didn't know until the bill came. read more

DIOSA Downey - Everything was amazing - New Mexican Cuisine Near Me - Downey, California

The entrance is just magnificent, your eyes get delighted with the beautiful view that you get as soon as you walk in. The atmosphere that they have is great for a girl night out, date nights, or any celebration. We went during brunch time and we had an amazing time the drinks were delectable and the food was delightful. The service was amazing and as long as we kept consuming food and drinks they allowed us to stay there for an extended time. It is a place you must try if you are in the Downey area. read more

Went to this restaurant for a group dinner. Great customer service from all the waiters and bar tenders. Food was delicious, I had the surf and turf with a Ceasars salad. The Ambience is amazing came out for a girls night. Perfect spot for those girly gram pics Food was okay that's why no four stars but then again I did just have appetizers but I wish they had more fresh appetizers I thought to much fried but to each their own, try it out for yourself. The appetizers we did have was pretty good I just wish more options. Drinks were fun, pretty and delicious It's definitely a ladies night vibe and date night. They have shot services with a cart that comes to each table with different tequila to choose from to make a specialty shot. I thought that was fun! But you do pay for those shot service separate from the table tab. Everyone has different views on places and taste in drinks & food. It's more to get dressed up have some pretty drinks and have a good time. I can't remember if music was playing that's how much I was enjoying the evening read more

Pros: Ambiance & Fancy Drinks Cons: Loud & food doesn't come out at the same time. To be fair, they tell you ahead of time they bring it out as it's ready but a member of our table waited over 30min for his food and we were all almost done with our food. Overall: It's a nice get away from the LA scene. I recommend making an early reservation because the later you go, the longer you wait for your food & the louder it gets (due to the DJ) so if you're trying to have a convo it's pretty difficult over the music. Food was good but takes forever to come to the table. Ok for a date night, not for family dinners. read more

We really like Diosa, we loved everything, the service the ambience but mostly the food, we order the octopus, enchiladas poblanas, sea food pasta and some empanadas, and the margarita drinks were perfect, not like other places that just put little alcohol and sweetness. And judging for the empanadas i know they use quality top meat, so next time am gonna try their wagyu read more

My family and I enjoyed this place a lot. We came in with a party of almost 20 and they took great care of us, we were very pleased with the service. We all thought the food was good, the vegetable empanadas and enchiladas colorado were some of our favorites. The salsa and guacamole are really good too. They have a long list of alcohol and non alcoholic options as well. The decor is so pretty, I absolutely loved the way the restaurant looked. My family and I will definitely be back. read more

Finally a restaurant comparable to 555 East, Tantalum, Catch LA, or Maestros minus the long drive. Drinks were pricey but well made. I had the vintage old fashioned and the other smoked drink with tequila & mezcal. Appetizers - we tried the steak empanada which was terrible, if you want that go to Gaucho Grille. Entrees -Wife had salmon and I had the octopus, both were perfectly cooked and good portions. Octopus was spicy but very good. Worth the price and comparable to any other trendy place in LA. Ordered a side of poblano mash potatoes which was spicy as hell. *they should annotate spicy food on the menu Service - was superb from 7:15pm to 9pm. Past 9pm it got hella packed and our waitress was MIA. Took 30 min to get a drink where before 9pm it was 5-10 min. Check took forever. Come before 9 if you want service comparable to the price tag. I would go back for sure. Good meal and service before 9. If you want to be seen and don't mind a long wait...go later. Highly recommend. read more

Good place to eat with friends and family or even business partners in Los Angeles county.Food is good drinks are better! Served with a touch of magic and a moment to remember. So my boyfriend and I visited this beautiful restaurant this previous Friday night for date night and the restaurant looks beautiful. We were seated and the waitress didn't come around for about 20 minutes then another 20 minutes passed by and we weren't even given water. I seen that the waitress was handling about half of the tables at therestaurant restaurant. As someone who worked for an upscale restaurant that was surprising due to the fact that you're paying for the experience and it seems that management is poor because management was even on the floor working.... to have one person scheduled on a Friday night because they assumed it wasn't gonna be busy is very irresponsible And honestly I'm second-guessing returning to the restaurant. Do not get me wrong. The food was amazing so were the drinks but Jesus a $300 dinner with poor service is not it read more

I was there a couple weeks ago, and here is my honest review of this place. The food was excellent, very tasteful. Ambiance was good but I guess because of the holidays they packed up the place, seemed like they added extra tables in the middle, I had at least 4 people bump in to my chair because of how snug it was to get around. The place is beautiful but the overall service... First off we had a reservation at 6:45 which the host could not find and told us if we wanted to wait it would be an hour wait for a party of 4. My friend was running late and was able to make another online reservation for our party mind you at 6:40 that same day for 7pm, 15 minutes after our original reservation yet we were told to wait an hour but were promptly seated at 7. Service was not that great, our server kept disappearing our first round of drinks came out quickly but second round I think she forgot took almost 20 minutes just to come out one at a time. Our main dishes came out before our appetizers and 2 of them never came out. read more

Great service good food. Came in with a reservation. We got there early and had drinks at the bar. They seated us in time, the food was very good and in large portions. We started with the guacamole it was spicy with a hunk of tangy and greasy made chips. My boyfriend got the pollo mole, it had a really good flavor came with rice and black beans. I ordered the steak arrachera, basically fajitaa it came with rice and beans but I substituted for the nopal cold slaw that didn't not disappoint. All the food was great, but the mole was delicious. Went for my birthday - complementary vanilla ice cream was good topped with chocolate drizzle and cinnamon gave an after flavor taste. Champagne shot was a cute touch. Drinks kept getting better and better... skinny margaritas was nice, regular margaritas was sweeter, my favorite the Santorini. read more
