I recently had the pleasure of dining at Diosa and Natalie, our server, made the experience truly exceptional. From her warm welcome to her impressive menu knowledge and impeccable service, Natalie ensured a memorable evening. Her drink recommendations Combined with the exquisite food and elegant ambiance, Natalie's service created an unforgettable culinary journey. Highly recommended. Update: we stayed a little longer after closing out and were helped by Jorge and Diego they were amazing. read more

Hmmm so where do I start? First off you're going to definitely get a trendy vibe when you walk in! Can't deny it's absolutely gorgeous! A place to take pictures if you're one to post on social media. We had reservations but still had to wait about 15min before seated. Our waiter was very polite but seem to disappear towards the end after all our food was brought out to us at different times. He no longer checked on us to see if we need anything else. We had to ask about dessert and wanting more drinks. As far as the food. There were so many mixed emotions from everyone. The street corn was salty. The guac was too much on the spicy side. It seem like every entree had fresh chili peppers sprinkled in all the food. So if you don't like spicy make sure to tell them to hold all Chili's. Literally everything had spice to it. Shocked the water didn't have spice in it as well..lol..I have to say the food is definitely not worth the prices! AT ALL! Maybe they are charging for the experience and elegance of the place. But not worth the cost of the food. Thankfully my husbands meal was to his liking and my steak arrechera was good as well. But for the price I feel it was priced to high. My sister treated me and my family to dinner in hopes we all would get wowed since it was all our first time visiting and possibly in hopes to visit again but unfortunately I don't think that will be the case. Maybe for their drinks and appetizers during happy hour where the prices make a little more sense. Just an ok restaurant for food but beautiful as far as cosmetics. read more

I went to Diosa after seeing all the IG reviews popping up on my feed. It is indeed a beautifully decorated restaurant with a nice ambiance (located next to a cvs in a shopping center parking lot). Once you walk in you are taken aback by the decor. I must admit it's pretty, chic and cool. Oh and everyone is dressed up. I'm sure you don't have to be but it's seems that's the vibe. 1. Wait time: did not wait long to be seated. We did have reservations. So that was a plus 2. Host: He was very welcoming and took his time answering our questions. He was busy and at one point we needed water so my friend just reached back and grabbed a pitcher of water and refilled herself 3. Appetizers- ok well this is not el torito or Acapulco where you get lots of chips with you guacamole (see pic below). Literally like maybe 10 chips that we learned quickly to ration by breaking one chip into three pieces to scoop up the guacamole. We ordered a refill of chips for $4 . I mean I get it but $4 I dunno about that or the portion that they give you. But I guess your paying for the ambiance. 4. Drinks- ok so I think this place is good for the drinks. They are good and the presentation of some of them are super cute. I'd probably go back for drinks only and maybe appetizers. 5. Food - food was ok but I have had better. I had the enchiladas poblanas, my friend had shrimp ones (those were good), my other friend had the queso fundido (that was really good). Food was ok tho. All in all it was ok. I see they have a goddess hour where maybe you can just go try out the stuff a bit cheaper if your curious. I think it's kinda like a Javier's but I think Javier's is better. I usually take lots more pic but forgot to take pics of my food. There is a 3% surcharge too for rising prices. It's an ok place. read more

Estephanie was our server. She was very attentive. The food was very delicious. We will be back for sure. Thank you.

Linda was absolutely wonderful! She recommended the trio fajitas and they were delicious, definitely shareable. I also loved how attentive and friendly she was the entire time. Great service and great food! read more

We have been here about 4-5 times. We love the food and drinks. Tonight I'm not sure what happen, the bartender looked tired and grouchy. We ordered dinner and two drinks. Do you think she ever asked if we wanted another drink or some water to go with the dinner??? Nope. We are sitting at the bar so that should be a hint that we are looking to buy more than two drinks. We were completely sober coming in so I don't get it. Why work the bar if you are not friendly. I figure the owner is trying to sell drinks right? Disappointing. We will give it a few months before we return and move over to downtown Downey. BUT other than that we had a great time. Normally this place has great customer service. read more

The place is beautifu and very clean. I went for brunch. I ordered the chilaquiles. The portion was huge.

Beautiful decor, great service, delicious food and drinks!! I loved the restaurant's design: a feast for the eyes to say the least!! We ordered the Lobster ceviche appetizer; entrees were Enchiladas Poblanos and Enchiladas Del Mar...both fabulous; could not finish!! Our server was very pleasant and attentive. We're definitely returning. Diosa saves us from taking trips to the West side or the OC for similar quality dining experience! read more

A friend and I stopped in for brunch. Restaurant had just opened for the day, therefore wasn't busy at all. Walked in and was asked if we had a reservation-we did not. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated. Once seated, The server immediately walked over and was very knowledgeable and attentive. Food was decent, nothing amazing. A little overpriced. Restaurant is on the upscale side-definetly dress up. Nice little place to go out with a group of friends to catch up. read more

If you're reading this, it's a yes for me for 3 reasons: 1. The vibe - this place feels like you're at a bougie restaurant in Vegas without having to drive or fly there. The interior is decked with cascades of chandeliers, candles for that romantic vibe, and dim lights paired with good music. 2. The service. This restaurant is family owned and their servers are intentional about making sure you're taken care of. There's even a server / bartender that walks around to sell shots of tequila that's served in a champagne flute. So whether it's been a minute since you've taken a shot (like us LOL) you feel like a classy bad bish taking it. Big shoutout to our server, Pauline for taking great care of us - your professionalism and vibe got us wanting to come back. 3. The food & drink experience! You can either order their food family style (which is what we did) or order individually. Bone marrow luge: this is not your typical bone marrow. The marrow is filled with short rib that you can use to make for tacos. It was still good, but felt like more of a pretty plate vs the traditional bone marrow. Coco Salmon Rissoto: the flavor on this was superb. The only downside was that the rissoto was dry. Tomahawk rib eye steak: ORDER THIS. The flavor on this steak was so juicy (we ordered it to be cooked as medium) and shared this among the 6 of us. Worth the $200. Paella: the seafood paella was yUUuUmMmmM! I'd order this again - loved that it was packed with lots of shrimps, clams, and flavorful rice. Ok now let's talk draaaanks...I recommend ordering: * margarita flight * plata o pomo You won't regret it! Whether you're celebrating a birthday, coming for a romantic date night, I'd consider this spot a Downey gem. I'll be back. read more

My lady and I come to diosa last night for a date night and had a fantastic time. The food was excellent the service was superb our server Juan Antonio did a fantastic job. It's a beautiful restaurant perfect for a date night. A couple of items were a little high in price, but the majority of the menu was appropriately priced, if not underpriced, for the quality and quantity of the food you receive. Chef Hector came out to our table to check personally how we were and asked for feedback on the plates. We didn't have much to say everything was fantastic. From our appetizers (the mango habanero aguachiles and steak empanadas) to the octopus zarandeado and pork shank. An overall excellent experience we will be back for sure maybe next time for brunch! read more

I decided to go to Diosa for my 23rd anniversary. From the moment we walked up to the valet parking we were greeted with a friendly welcome. Walked into the restaurant and again greeted with friendly and helpful hostess. We had reservations and were sat within a few minutes. Our server was very attentive and helpful. He recommended drinks. I mentioned to the hostess that it was our anniversary and to my surprise I was provided with a wonderful print out congratulating us. I really enjoyed my "X fenti" drink, the best I've ever had!! I loved the vibes of this restaurant, I left super happy. The hostess and managers again were super nice when we left the restaurant. Everyone asked how our service was. They trully made us feel like a V.I.P Im so glad a chose Diosa for such an important day in my life. Thank you!! read more

My my, where to even begin. Experience upon entering was a blis. Husband and I came in for an anniversary dinner. So happy HE was the one to decide on this place over the other options found. The interior is aesthetically pleasing. It feels like you are walking into a Beverly Hills restaurant (not that I've been to any lol). We sat at a booth by the bar for the last of the Goddess Hour. Christian (I hope I spelled it right) was our server. He was amazing and made our experience so much better. Very sweet, attentive, and knew exactly what to recommend. Everything, and I mean everything, was superb. The drinks were great, and the food and desert were divine. Yes, it is on the pricier side, but it is absolutely worth it. It's definitely a must for date night or a special celebration. read more

Had reservations for 4:30 arrived at 4:32 took about 5min to get seated. There weren't many people around 4:30, but after 5ish it started to get busy. Seating: there seems to be different vibes for seating. Towards the back it felt more like low key vibes with dimmer lighting. Towards the front it's more open and more light. They also had what I'm assuming window that were open which did make it cold. Unfortunately you can't choose where you sit when making reservations. Would have rather sit away from the windows. That breeze coming in was a little too cold for me. Food/Drinks: There's is someone walking around with a bar cart. Enchiladas poblanas: um I'm not too sure how I feel about this dish. It was good but I wouldn't go back for this specific dish. It's served with a side of green rice and black beans. Mango-habanero aguachile: the "juice" of this wasn't super spicy, but it did have a good kick to it. To my taste I would have preferred a little more salt and pepper. Not sure if the shrimp was cooked in the juice it comes in. I would come back to eat this again. Vintage Fashion: they bring it in a little locked box and when you open it smoke comes out. Super cute presentation. read more

We were a party of 12 with reservations on a Monday evening, we celebrated my sisters bday. This restaurant is beautiful!!!!! I really loved the decor and ambience. They put a lot of detail into it. Great for all occasions. The service was amazing! Thank you Mary for a great job at providing us with lots of recommendations. My sister had the ribeye medium and my mom had the ribeye well done. My moms wasn't as good as my sisters. So I recommend medium. I tried the vegetable empanadas and fell in love with the aioli sauces, you get two sauces! My brothers had enchiladas he said they were ok. The queso fundido was sooo good. I loved everything! I didn't drink but my sister loved the bday shot they gave her with rosay and cream, she said 10/10! I think the prices are reasonable considering the elegance and service of the restaurant. I knew this place was special as I walked through the beautiful doors and approached the counter. I was immediately greeted by the lovely host Nastashia who was more than willing to recommend a few dishes that we ended up trying. The street corn appetizer was incredible. Our server, David was awesome as well as he constantly checked on us and made sure we never went thirsty. We had the margarita flight which came in with a variety of drinks that was big enough for my wife and I to share. We ended up ordering carnitas which was recommended by David and Nastasha and were so happy about it. They were to die for. Definitely coming back! This place was amazing. read more

Diosa is undeniably fancy right from the start. It's amusing to stumble upon such elegance in a simple parking lot neighborhood next to an AT&T store. The velvet and black glamour walls set the tone. As soon as you step inside, the ambiance transforms into something truly beautiful, with black and white accents. It's certainly a place to dress up and celebrate. Their drink menu is impressive! Our party of 8 enjoyed every drink. I highly recommend the margarita flight at $37 instead of buying single drinks, as it's worth $20. Unfortunately, we didn't get to eat due to the kitchen being extremely slow. Although we were seated at 7:45, we didn't receive appetizers until 9:30. By that point, we were pretty much finished with drinking and eating. The Managar, Michael, was extremely apologetic and made up for the lost time by offering our table dessert - churro/ice cream, which they make in front of you. Would I go again? Most likely just for drinks and to hang out. The prices were a bit steep, It's definitely an Instagram-worthy spot that's been overhyped. read more

I researched Diosa before I met out of town guests whose clients insisted we meet there as it was conveniently located across from his hotel. Diosa. A female god.. a god she is not. The restaurant's is beautiful, empty but pretty. Too bad, it lacks good service, good food and tasteful music! Our used plates and glasses weren't cleared unless we asked. The waiter brought out dessert while the old stale guacamole dip sat on our table. Where were the bus boys/girls? The drinks took forever and were extremely watered down. The waiters were clueless and not engaging, knew nothing about the menu. And they were missing half the time. The loud blaring music was so annoying.!! Is this a Mexican restaurant or a reggaeton concert? I've seen comparisons to Javier's in other Yelp reviews: WRONG, NOT. Do not compare this restaurant to Javier's. That's an insult. Don't bother eating here, it's wasted space. read more

Figured we would try out Diosa, despite the mixed reviews and I understand why the restaurant is a hit or a miss. All restaurants in the beginning would have it's ups or downs, so it is to be expected. The apps We started with the the lobster/scallop ceviche and ahi tuna ceviche. To start off the seafood was very fresh! Both these options came with a sort of round nacho type of chip. I would of loved to of seen a wonton chip be included with the ahi tuna instead, but it was the same chip as the lobster ceviche. The beverages My beloved went with the margarita flight while I went with the water element Santorini. Both had good flavor, unfortunately it seemed as tho we ordered a mocktail. For the price if you could put in a little more booze. The mains We decided to go with a para la mesa plates "to share" Fetuchini Del Mar. Portion was perfect for two and sauce was delicious I was scooping it with the provided bread sticks. But unfortunately it was not all good. The not so good things food was cold and the fascination of the cheese wheel was just that. The flavor was not enhanced by the inclusion of the tossing of the noodles. The verdicts I will give Diosa sometime to see how things get adjusted as my first impression of it are mixed. For the price point this restaurant is playing in they do need to step it up. read more

This is a really nice place. Nice decor, ambience and energy from the friendly staff. My wife and I came to celebrate our 12 year anniversary. I wish I would've thought this through a little more though. The drinks were good. I had a vintage fashion which I really liked. The name DIOSA was actually in the block of ice that came with the drink. Nice little detail. The wife got the honey drip margarita which was delicious. The steak empanada appetizers were the star of the show for me. It was light, flaky and it had nice size chunks of steak inside. The crema and aioli that came on the side was smackin too! I ordered the lobster ceviche. For the main entree I ordered the fetuchini Del Mar. This is where it started going down hill for me. My wife ordered the pollo Al pastor which was juicy and seasoned well. The tortillas tasted like Guerrero tortillas from the store. Not the worse but not what you would expect. My wife got her dish at least 25 mins before mine. When it finally came out I had lost my appetite. The lobster was undercooked. I had to work pretty hard to scrape it out of the shell. The shrimp, muscles and clams were actually really good but they went way overboard with the seasoning. I think it's the salsa macha that might've been over the top along side the aged Parmesan which I loved. I later found out it was supposed to be served with garlic bread that I never received. For the price you pay you would just expect more. Even though we enjoyed ourselves we were left disappointed. Lot of highs and lows in this dining experience. Some of the details that were left out seemed to be careless mistakes. At the end of the day, coming into celebrate 12 years of marriage, that's what the overall experience was; not much care. read more

The food was good, the drinks were great. It ended up being about $100 per person which isn't bad you pay for the ambiance forsure.

For all my foodies that care about the quality of food and not so much the aesthetic this place is not it. The menu was basic & definitely over priced for what we got. The server was nice but took a really long time to take our order. I ordered camarones a la diabla, the sauce was good but the shrimp unfortunately was undercooked. My partner got the enchiladas verde and they were not good. I can truthfully say that I've been to a higher end restaurant & have paid less. I don't mind paying for me it was more the quality overall. I will admit the drinks were good. I went for dinner idk if brunch is better but I'm Not willing to find out. read more
