This javiers is located across from the Crypto arena so you know its gonna be busy. But as soon as you walk in you are greeted and added to the waitlist. It does get busy but the good thing is this place is huge so you wont be waiting long unless they are understaffed. From the moment you sit the waiter is asking you if you want any drinks and if you ask for recommendations from the menu the waiter actually gives you some choices and opinions on menu items. The food quality is amazing. Like yeah its expensive but it taste so delicious so be prepared to pay big bucks for the food here. The good thing is that since the food is good you wont be mad when you pay the bill. The drinks are also good but they should put less ice in them. Your paying 20 bucks and 40% of the drink is ice :( Pros -Good service -Food taste delicios -Drinks taste good -Seating feels good -Tables are big Cons -Valet cost $35 dollars -Parking sucks in DTLA -Everything is expensive

Came here for lunch with my sisters and honestly, the food did not disappoint--everything was flavorful and well-presented. We started with the octopus, which was super tender (not rubbery at all ) and paired really nicely with fresh avocado, herbs, and a light citrusy kick. Definitely one of the better octopus dishes I've had. The shrimp empanadas were crispy, golden, and packed with flavor. Topped with crema, avocado sauce, and fresh onions, they had the perfect balance of crunchy + creamy + tangy. Loved that they were stuffed full or shrimp and not greasy. For the main, the steak fajita dish came with sautéed peppers and onions, a roasted pepper, creamy beans, and guac on the side. The steak had a nice char and good seasoning, and everything on the plate complemented each other really well. The fajitas were cooked to perfection. My sisters ordered the Branzino and chicken quesadillas and Agua chile. The fish was cooked perfectly and didn't come out tasting too fishy and the quesadillas were stuffed with chicken. The restaurant was beautiful and well decorated, and the service was amazing. Overall, great flavors and solid execution across the board. Would definitely recommend stopping for a meal.

Visited Javier's DTLA for dinner recently and had a great overall experience. The atmosphere is definitely one of the highlights, beautiful space, lively energy, and a great spot for a night out with friends or clients. The food was solid across the board. The chips and salsa were fresh, the cocktails were well-made, and the entrees were flavorful and nicely presented. The service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the prices are on the higher side, even for DTLA, and a few dishes didn't quite live up to the expectations set by the ambiance. Nothing was bad, but a couple of items felt more good than memorable. That said, I'd definitely come back. If you're looking for upscale Mexican food in downtown LA with a fun atmosphere, Javier's is worth checking out.

I love Javier's! Javier's was the first upscale Mexican restaurant I visited upon moving to California in 2000. Laguna Beach was their first location and I lived just above Main Beach so could walk there. Fast forward, 25 years later and they have expanded and renovated Newport Beach, opened Irvine and launched a gorgeous location in DTLA. The details and tequila here are the best! This location is perfect for a libation and appetizer before a game or event at Crypto Arena. It is a simple jaunt across the street. The margaritas are solid, the chips are thin and the guacamole flavorful. A grand archway greets you, cushy chairs at the bar and a lovely fireplace area for everything from a quick bite to a full meal. I look forward to visiting again in DTLA. #Javiers #SoCalFavorite #DTLA #Guacamole

5 stars for Ali because he was an EXCELLENT server for our early evening. We had reservations starting at 3:30pm and everything was elegant. 4.5 stars overall because we had higher expectations. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the seafood quesadilla & carnitas tacos! They had a fabulous array of tequila (we took shots). We recommend the martinis, you can never go wrong with a martini. The ambience was nice and the place was also very mellow at the time we went. The place was massive. Around 6pm a lot of people started coming in! We will definitely be back!

Javier's in LA never misses. From the moment we walked in, the energy was upscale but still welcoming -- the perfect vibe for a night out. The food? Incredible. Every dish was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with bold, authentic flavor. The drinks were just as impressive -- perfectly balanced and strong enough to matter. And the service was attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole experience feel effortless. Javier's is definitely one of those spots you go to when you want great food, great ambiance, and an overall elevated dining experience. I'll absolutely be back.

The food was very good and the place is absolutely beautiful. We ordered the quesadilla with meat ($32 or $38, can't remember exactly). It came with guacamole which was really good. We had the mariscos enchiladas ($55) and our favorite one was the lobster one. The drinks were good, especially the guava one but also on the pricey side ($22-$25 each). The best was probably the tres leches cake ($16). The service was generally good but slow at times. Definitely a place we wanted to try, but I'm not sure if we would go back or maybe for a special occasion. As many reviews say, it is on the pricey side for the food you get.

Was in town for a convention and so glad we made reservations here in advance. Food and service were both amazing. Birria was so tender and tasty. Would definitely come back again.

DOWNTOWN DTLA DECADENCE - absolutely beautiful ambiance has you feeling like you stepped into Tulum. The margaritas are next level (highly recommend the Jamaica one). And truly can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Fresh. Flavorful. Festive.

This location is across the street from the LA convention center. Parking is inside the Circa. The entrance to restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance, interior decorations are serene. We had a drink at the bar first and Joey was polite and welcoming. We came for a company holiday outing and the service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Chile relleno one cheese and the other with meat. The cheese was delicious, I didnt like the meat option, it wasn't a flavor profile I enjoyed. The appetizers: ceviche and guacamole were so good even the chips were salted nicely. Sitting at the bar with Joey, our drinks were well made. Not sure if another bartender completed table drinks. But, it was different. All in all, good experience

The food here was very delicious. The atmosphere was terrific and service was top notch. The steak Picado was tender and flavorful. The chips and salsa were addicting. The gauc here was awesome as well. Items on the menu is on the pricey side. But have to experience the food once was worth it

I have been wanting to come to this location since it opened. I absolutely love Javier's. The ambiance is stunning and moody. The service was fast and welcoming even on a Friday night. The drinks are always so good. I had a jalapeño margarita (Two actually) they were not overly sweet and worth it. I also had the chicken enchiladas (enchiladas suzias con pollo). These are hands down the best enchiladas I have ever had from a restaurant. They reminded me of my childhood. Quantity was good. I was able to take home leftovers which was a big plus. I would love to come here again and I would recommend to anyone I have been wanting to come to this location since it opened. I absolutely love Javier's. The ambiance is stunning and moody. The aesthetics of this restaurant are gorgeous - took me back to Tulum! The enchilada trio was delicious; would recommend. But it's definitely pricey. While I loved the vibes of this restaurant, I don't know if I would come back again. They placed our group of 6 in a corner right next to two other huge groups. We were so tight that our purses were touching. When I walked to the bathroom, I was shocked to see how big and empty the other half of the restaurant was. Why not space people out a little so they aren't squished? The room echoed so much and I could barely hear my friends; rather the voices of the people next to us. And don't get me started on the extremely loud music... Parking is hard but there is a lot across the street that costs $20; or street parking if you get lucky for $2/hour.

The type of bar you choose is important. But sometimes, the Bar Chooses You! Bar Magnolia quietly enters the chat. It was October 11th, 2025 and my wife & I just checked into Hotel Figueroa in DTLA. (EPIC REVIEW Coming Soon!!!) While we were waiting for our room to be ready, we decided to check out the Hotel Bar Lounge... First thought, Color me Impressed! High ceilings, Natural lighting, classy decor, comfy couches... Yeah, take your time with that room, we'll wait! So we plopped down onto their sofa, waited for a cocktail menu, and let the "we left the kids at home with Grandma; let's enjoy being kid-free for the night begin". $18.00 cocktails....Lets Goooo!! Looking back at the Photos, I can't exactly recall what we ordered... Was it a whiskey sour? Was it a paper plane?? Honestly, Who cares! They tasted great. I was sitting across from a beautiful woman. And we were responsibly adulting. What more could a guy ask for?? I'm glad you asked! After a long car ride in, sipping on water, then the first few sips of my cocktail, I suddenly had to go... Luckily, the restrooms are located just adjacent to the bar area and DAMN are they clean!! Hey, if a bar restroom is well taken care of, you know the place has Class.... And Bar Magnolia has the Class to Match! Of course, there is bar stool seating at the bar... Middle Man (Aka waiting for your server to come check back in) In addition to the bar top stools, there are also low top tables, and a few couch-chairs with a low top table for more intimate conversations. Besides those $18 craft cocktails, a short, well Curated list of bubbles, vino and draft beers are all up for grabs. Unfortunately, we had stopped to eat before we arrived (bad move on our part), but next time, and THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME, we will definitely partake in their food menu (cause damn, did it look GOOD!) So whether you are a guest of Hotel Figueroa, you are leaving the Crypto Arena after a concert and want to paint the town red, or you are simply just wanting to sit, relax and enjoy a nice cocktail at a classy, upscale, but not so pretentious Cocktail Lounge... I finally was able to check it off, thanks to a hotel offer with a dining credit. Dahlia is the gorgeous petite space behind the larger ground floor restaurant space now called Cabrillo (formerly Caldo Verde). Dahlia opened as a bespoke cocktail lounge, then began to offer tea. Now it's just tea. There are five 2-tops and two 4-top tables. All food and beverage venues at the Proper used to be under the auspices of famed chef Suzanne Goin and her business partner/sommelier Caroline Styne. They are no longer affiliated with the Proper, but many of their dishes/contributions remain. The last named vestige of them is on the tea menu, "Suzanne's Deviled-Egg Sandwich". The tea menu has several options: Classic, with a seasonal mocktail, or with different champagnes. I opted for the Classic experience, because the mocktail had mocha, not my fave. Server Lluvia was clearly a Dahlia veteran; she offered a tea-smelling of all the teas that interested me as well as crowd favourites. I ultimately chose one of these faves, Mad Hatter's Tea Party, which had passionfruit and vanilla. I declined milk/cream, but did get lemon. There were rock sugar sticks on the table. It seems the selection of tea sandwiches and sweet treats changes every so often, although the vanilla bean scone, dried currant scone, Devonshire cream and apricot orange jam seem like constants. The sandwich selection at my visit were: cucumber, crab/creme fraiche, beet hummus on pita, smoked salmon and Suzanne's deviled egg. All were delish, the beet, crab and deviled egg especially. The sweet treats were: orange fig butter cookie, spiced apple brown butter crumble, cranberry frangipane hand pie, chocolate mocha macaron, pumpkin madeleine, plus the 2 scones. All were excellent. There were no leftovers. A bit pricey, but a relaxing and lovely experience. The room was not crowded when I visited, adding to the calmness of my visit.
