    Chicken and fries!

Toyitos chicken was so delicious! I highly recommend their half chicken and fries! My sister and I split it and had it for lunch with leftovers. I've been wanting to try this spot for awhile now. Make sure to try their Aji Verde!

My wife and I decided try out Peruvian Rotisserie at Toyitos chicken in the city of Downey. We have try different kind of Rotisserie chicken from restaurants we have try Peruvian Rotisserie chicken from Peruvian restaurants. Toyitos chicken is small restaurant since covid all orders are take out and still continue serving that good Rotisserie chicken that everyone enjoy. We decided to get half chicken combo it comes with beans salad and tortillas also come with hot sauce very spicy. We brought home one taste of the chicken really tender, juicy cooked to perfection with season in chicken you will enjoy it. The bean are amazing good including the salad. We need to come back again.

    Half chicken. Salad. Rice 10/10!

Move over pollo loco lol There's really no comparison. Just a joke. Anyway. Work buys me lunch every Friday. And todays choice was Toyitos. Peruvian chicken? Where have you been all my life lol it was a bit salty. But not too bad. I got a half chicken with rice and salad. It came with some salsa. That was too spicy for me. Salad was fresh. Crunchy. Good. Rice was perfect. It had its own flavor. Now the highlight was the chicken. So soft, flavorful and delicious. I ate the leg, thigh and wing. Saved the breast for dinner. I highly recommend this place. If I'm ever in the area, I'm definitely coming back. And I'm bringing friends. It was that good! I'll try their beans and fries next time. Thanks for the good food guys. I'm a fan now. Keep up the good work. See you soon

I was craving yucca fries and I came to the right place! The fries were freshly made to perfection and crunchy! The jalapeño dip it comes with is amazing

For now, they only allow take out orders. Wait was longer than expected. It took approximately 25 minutes to get our order and we only ordered chicken. I was told that today, July 28, is the celebration of Peruvian independence, so there was a whole lot of phone in orders. We only got to try their rotisserie chicken. $15. for the rotisserie chicken, a bit high for me. The flavor was good, and chicken was moist. The green sauce is what is really good . The green sauce made all the difference . Without the green sauce... I would just probably settle for costco rotisserie. Anyway, the staff are pretty nice. Place looks clean. From what I have seen, this place is practicing the precautions for preventing the spread of the covid virus.

I really love this place, as it mimics a home made meal. They are very consistent in good quality, and their green sauce is delish.

It was a hole in the wall and had relatively good reviews for lomo saltado so I had my hopes up thinking the food would be amazing. My chief complaint is that it took almost 30 minutes for my single order to come out because the kitchen was busy prioritizing to-go/delivery orders. Had I known this, I wouldn't have eaten inside the restaurant; I would've actually gotten it delivered. My next complaint is that no receipt was given as customer copy, and no itemized receipt when asking for tip. The total for this dish came out to almost $30 including tip, and the waitress/cashier didn't mention the lunch special at all. I brought it up to ask about it after I paid, to which she replied, "Oh, you probably don't want that cuz it's smaller. But it comes with a drink and soup." The fact that she assumed I wouldn't want the lunch special (when I'm there at lunch time) that would've been a much better deal at $17.99 and perfect portion size for me, and yet charged me for the regular dinner price was a bit presumptuous. It's also weird that they would ask for a tip (which I gave anyway) before I even received my meal. It's less about the price but the principle! But I was just hungry and needed to go to my next appointment, so I didn't argue, but again, the food took way too long to come out so I had to ask her about it after the 25 minute mark. Food came out after 30 minutes, and I had to get up and ask for the aji verde sauce when most restaurants usually serve it to you with the meal. The aji verde sauce which is really important to me to complement this dish, unfortunately missed the mark as well. I really missed Sol Inka's aji verde sauce that's well-rounded in every way. Lomo saltado should be balanced between the meat, tomatoes, onions, and fries, but it was definitely heavy on the fries with only two pieces of tomatoes. I would've preferred more meat too if it's the regular plate, but it felt like a fries dump. I wouldn't have had complaints if this were the lunch special order. Anyways, if you don't mind the headache & having to be extra proactive to get what you want, this is the place to be, but it's definitely not my cup of tea. $30 for a sub-par lomo saltado where well over half of it is fries does not sit well with me, considering I waited 30 minutes for my meal. Unfortunately, I'd just have to stick to Sol Inka for my regular Peruvian food fix, as the flavor is more robust there anyways. Oh, and Sol Inka also gives complimentary warm bread and butter, while there isn't anything like that here.

We ordered the cerviche (Mixto Cebiche), soup (Chupa De Camarones), Arroz con Pollo, and Tallarín Verde w/ beef steak to share for two people. The mixed cerviche comes with big chunks of fresh halibut, and plenty of shrimp and octopus. The sour and tangy flavor is perfectly balanced the glazed sweet potato and Peruvian corn and corn nuts. Definitely a must-try if you like cerviche! The soup (Chupe De Camarones) has a thick and creamy (shrimp chowder) texture, with plenty of peas/carrots pieces, fried fish, and a scrambled egg on top. Very hearty and just perfectly seasoned. We ordered the regular size and the portion is plenty enough even for two people to share. The specialty courses Arroz con pollo (rice cooked with cilantro sauce with chicken) and the Tallarín Verde (pesto spaghetti/parmesan cheese with breaded beef steak) are just as delicious as all the other dishes. The pesto spaghetti is al dente, and the pesto flavor is just devine! If you like cilantro, you cannot go wrong with the Arroz con pollo. Both of these dishes come in big portions, plenty to share for two people. Good service as our waitress was very attentive. Great value considering the cost. Good atmosphere, and plenty indoor seating. Parking in front of the establishment can be crowded, but there are also plenty of parking spaces in the surrounding area. If you are craving for Peruvian food, this is the place to be! Also since this is family-owned, please come and support your local small businesses.

I kept it simple since I wasn't exactly sure what I was craving, back to the basics, as they say. I ordered a simple lomo saltado, since I know exactly what it is and what I should be getting. The meat was well-seasoned. The fries did come out crispy, but they soaked up the sauce really quickly and got soggy fast. The sauce itself wasn't really my favorite as it leaned a bit too sweet and was a bit too watery for my taste. That said, the portions are definitely generous. There's plenty of meat, fries, and rice, and honestly, it could probably feed two people. The highlight for me was their green sauce, which was definitely a standout.

Though it's on the pricier side, the lomo is still worth getting. It's well seasoned, the fries soak up the savory soy based sauce without getting too soggy. They can be a little inconsistent at times when it comes to the pan sauce; sometimes the dish is on the drier side and other times it's the perfect amount of liquid. They do however give a generous portion size for this particular plate. I've dined in a few times and the service is not the best but I'll usually order to go. Recently they stopped including complimentary bread for take out orders so that was a bummer. Still one of the better spots around, just not what it used to be.
