DING DING DING, YES! I absolutely love Ding tea. Not only has Ding tea been around forever but it's hard to stay away. I always visit the Pomona location so it was nice to see their shiny new location in Buena Park. The location itself is located in this great area with so many different food and dessert options. The décor was beautifully done and pretty much the best photo opt. I always say that I will try something different but sadly I'm a creature of habit and order the matcha milk tea. I think Ding tea has an amazing matcha, it has that strong matcha flavor mixed with creamy nondairy milk that goes perfectly with one another. I also got to try a sip of the aloe kiwi and omg, was it amazing! The flavors were perfect together and it was refreshing on that hot day. I used to not like Ding Tea, and then I realized the quality varies per franchise. And let me tell you my friends, Ding Tea Buena Park has got it going on. While I wish they served food and snacks here, I have become a huge fan of their oolong milk tea, a drink that has a roasted tea flavor with a hint of milk. They come in regular and large size. Prices are pretty fair, and it's a total plus that they sell half gallons for less than $25 here! Most drinks can be ordered as a half gallon but not yakult and a few other options. Today I got a Jasmine Green Milk Tea, one of the popular drinks, with 1/2 sweet and I love it!! I can taste the tea better, being less sweet, and it's so refreshing for a milk tea! My sister got the wintermelon green tea with 70% sweet and she approves (she usually gets wintermelon at boba places). Place is really cute inside this huge shopping mall. We ordered the monster boba latte without Bobba and added egg pudding and my hubbys ordered the Aloe Vera Kiwi Juice. Both choices were delish. Time and order management: To be fair, the geniuses behind the counter had to make seven drinks for the customer in front of me. If you aren't a fan of sugar but still want the subtle taste with tea, 70 % is the go to. More tea based then sugar which was perfect for us. The boba was really good, consistent and chewy! The only downfall is it was almost $10 for two jasmine milk teas. A little bit pricey then average boba places. Very busy when I visited today, likely due to the buy one get one 1/2 off promotion they had this weekend. It's on the first floor of The Source OC near the 2 beauty shops - small cafe space with comfortable cushioned chairs, a flower wall with the cafe name on it in gold, and cute flower arrangements on a bar that can be placed on any table you sit at. The staff were friendly and took their time with making the drinks - if you're in a hurry, probably not ideal to go here. I was in no rush but it's nice to see them mixing the ingredients together in front of you. I went with the signature milk tea in a small cup with half ice and half sweetness and added boba. It took maybe 3-4 minutes which was good. The tea was lightly sweet - I think I tasted more tea than sweetener which isn't bad, but I'd almost consider my drink a slightly sweet than a half sweet. Boba was a bit firm but not hard to chew. There were a lot of people snapping pictures of their drinks in front of the flower wall or selfies in front of the flower wall - good way to promote the space and pretty for social media. I do wonder how well they'll continue to do, seeing as the space they're in has been rumored to be filing for bankruptcy soon. I hope things work out so they can continue to thrive. read more

But it just had an off taste and quality over all. The boba wasnt as chewy and rich tasting as most of these places here are. Which really threw me off because i was expecting the "Taiwanese" quality boba to be mind blowing since thats where boba originated. One thing too that always throws me off is when they give you thw choice of how sweet you want your milk tea. I mean, sure i know how i like my milk tea but i could not for the life of me TELL you how sweet thats supposed to be! Youre supposed to figure that out already! Lol When i ordered, i just said the normal phrase of "boba milk tea" to which they clarified as "classic". So they mixed in what they defined as classic amount of sweetness. Tea houses are always a great place to meet up with friends. Located at the source on the third level. This location is on the small side. Especially if you come in a group, which most people do. You order at the counter then listen for your name. It's no lie, I'm more of a coffee drinker than a tea girl. The limited coffee drinks are not made with espresso but instant coffee. I went with Thai iced tea. It tasted like most Thai iced teas taste like. The Mister had a iced mocha. It was very strong and not as sweet as he is used too. I agree after taking a sip. You see, I've been to many different Ding Tea locations and have almost lost hope. I came here a week ago with a friend to prove to me that the Ding Tea franchise has potential and I believed, just enough to try it after it has failed me three or four times. This was my first time back at The Source since they opened up all the stores on the bottom floor and I was also surprised how busy it was on a Saturday late afternoon. Anyways, I got their Hazelnut Milk Tea (50% sweet) with boba. I should've thought better because hazelnut isn't too sweet to begin with, so that was my mistake on that, however, the drink wasn't too bad even after I screwed myself up beforehand. The actual shop is pretty small, but VERY VERY BUSY. The line moved very quickly in an orderly fashion and the drinks came out pretty fast as well. I knew I abandoned coming to any Dingtea location for years now for a reason. I was sadly reminded of that reason this past weekend. It was an hour before closing and since they are the only boba shop still opened my friends and I decided to go with our only option. I ordered the taro smash with boba. When we were walking back to our group one of my friend tried her drink and she said it tasted super watered down and flavorless almost like straight up water. Another friend who ordered a wintermelon tea drink said hers was the same and that she can't even taste the jasmine tea inside. I waited until we reach my group to try mine and before I tried mine I notice that my first friend's drink looked eerily similar to mine so I asked what she ordered and she said taro smash. OMG. Dread filled over me as I poke my boba straw into my drink and what do you know? The same ill-fated flavorless, super watered down taste and what's even worse is that the picture in their promo described it as fresh taro with condense milk puree so I was hoping for some semblance of slightly sweet creaminess. My friend was not capping, this shit literally taste like water with grainy powder inside. It was such an unpleasant taste and texture. We passed our drinks around to 4 other people in the group and everyone came to the same conclusion that they fucked up these drinks. Either that or the quality like we've known before still holds, which is complete and utter garbage. I can't fathom how a business has the audacity to produce this kind of quality and charge people for it. We were desperate for a late night drink before the shops closed and we paid dearly for it lol. Lesson learned. Horrible experience. I have been to several Ding Teas and have had a pleasant experience with their friendly staff. My friend and myself were sitting in the venue, waiting to order after we completed our waters. The girl was giving us a hard time from our entry. She kept asking us when we would order, and finally approached us and told us to leave if we didn't that moment. This was the most disrespectful treatment I have ever received. I ended up giving this girl some cash to shut her cheap self up, and told my friend we should leave. The staff was extremely rude and petty. Relax with your 3 dollar boba and learn to respect your patrons. They treated their own people with kindness but don't seem to be open to diversity. Located within outdoor shopping plaza. This location has lactose-free dairy as three milk tea!!! SD location does not have that option. I LOVEEEE Ding Tea but I had to take off one star due to confusing advertising. I loved the brown sugar milk teas thats I've tried in asia and wanted to see if Ding tea had an equivalent. On their menu, they had both monster boba and brown sugar milk tea. the monster boba looked exactly like a brown sugar milk tea so I don't understand why they don't just take off one of these items?‍‍ I had to clarify with the server working there and she confirmed my confusion! Their milk teas are on the sweeter side so beware. I got a 50% sweetness level and it felt like I was drinking syrup. I could have gone to 30% and it might be just right, but that's just me. Didn't even get to try it ‍ I'm highly allergic to sunflower. Many of the plant based milks have sunflower in it, although there's a few that don't. So when I want a frap or anything of that nature, I always have to check. I asked the young man what milk they use and if it has sunflower, he didn't know, which is usually the case. He asked the lady working the drinks (think she may have been the manager or owner) the same question, she pretty much shrugged her shoulders and didn't care to try and help at all. Her response was pretty much like we don't know, like that's that. Now think about it, I'm literally asking a question about ingredients to one product, not every product they have. Not only that, don't businesses provide nutritional facts upon request, or sometimes just because? Many businesses I go to I have to question certain things because of my allergy, they are happy to help me. Even the big franchises like Starbucks and such. Many a times I've asked Starbucks for ingredient info. No matter how busy they are, which is usually always, they take out a moment to accommodate me. Wow, now that's service! But at this place, she was just not very good at customer service. And it's sad because my daughter really wanted me to try it. Well I won't be going there.
