Ding Tea has a lot of locations. This shop is at The Source. Very convenient to have this Boba place here. The nieces are always craving Boba drinks which is why we dropped in here. The shop is nicely decorated, and service was okay. It was unanimous for the group. Everyone thought the drinks all tasted average. Tastes have changed I believe. There are now quite a few other boba places that the family prefers patronizing. Ding tea is solid with pretty reliable quality control/consistency. My old spot closed in Irvine (sad) but this one is a good second with a nice rosey wall and friendly service despite my trouble seeing the robust list of non-caf drinks in front of my face on the wall. Got my go-to decaf wintermelon, which was still a nice sweet treat for me at 50% sweet so these drinks do run a little on the sweet side. Been to different Ding Teas around LA and they've always been consistently good. We were extremely thirsty and craving boba after a long day at Disneyland and ordered online. Ordering online is confusing because there isn't an option for regular boba. It only says Crystal Boba or Golden Boba but the photos shows normal black colored boba. I wrote in the comments that we wanted normal black boba but they didn't put it in the order which is really unfortunate because we wanted boba. Drinks we ordered: 1. Guava Green Tea: My favorite drink at Ding Tea. I love the Guava flavor and it goes so well with the green tea. The drink is always WAY too sweet though even with 30% sugar. 2. A few weeks ago, my dear friend and I were at the Source in Buena Park walking around and checking out the place. We ended up at Ding Tea for some drinks. I ordered the Wintermelon Milk Tea with lychee jelly and my friend ordered the Peach Green Tea. Mine was a tad sweeter than I would have liked. I was prewarned by the cashier that it is sweet, but I like to try a new drink with its original level of sweetness and I would adjust it the next time... should I get that drink again. I probably will not get the Wintermelon Melon Tea again LOL. My friend liked her drink. At least one of us was satisfied. Sometimes it would be nice to get a sampling of the drinks, but I guess it's just not feasible with so many drinks. All we can go with is word of mouth on what is good or just try them first hand. Staff was friendly, but not too smiley though, but then again they were wearing a mask LOL. I can sense it though through their eyes LOL. Prices were okay. At least they don't short you a couple inches from the top of the drink when you ask for no ice like some other Asian drink place (ridiculous! IMHO). This Ding Tea location is inside the Source plaza on the first floor near Myung Rang hot dog, Flip Poly, and a k-pop store. The inside is so pretty and I love the floral decoration on the wall. I think this location is the most aesthetic Ding Tea that I've seen! And I LOVE Ding Tea so I go to a lot. There aren't a lot of seats but the 2nd AND 3rd floor of this plaza has a huge food court to sit! Sometimes it does get quiet so you can definitely sit inside then. The cashiers here are always pretty friendly and chill. I always always order the peach green tea with lychee jelly (75% sweetness and 75% ice level). It's so refreshing and not too sweet. I think the quality of lychee jelly is amazing here! The drink has such a great taste and is so delicious, especially during a hot day. Overall, I would recommend coming here. The service is decent and the drinks are great! I know that my friends love the quality of boba here too so I would suggest it as well. Their menu is very extensive and it's easy to find something for anyone. The price is reasonable as well. The plaza is a nice place to hang out with friends and get a diverse range of different food. Covid 19 times 2020 I am normally a Gong Cha person but I wanted to see what this place was all about. 1st floor location instead of the food court area where Gong Cha and other eateries are located. I appreciate that since one who is shopping around may not want to go all the way to the top just to get some boba teas. Upon entry, there were social distancing signs, hand sanitizer and the cashier is nicely guarded with some plexi plastic for the protection of their workers. There were two guys working that day and they did not seem super enthusiastic about their jobs. I wanted a few minutes before they decided to assist me with my order. I purchased a taro milk tea boba and a signature milk tea with boba. Considering there was only one couple waiting to receive their drinks before me, service was quite slow. Signature milk tea boba- standard, nothing special. Taro milk tea boba- I like their version of this better than Gong Cha as it did not taste like powdered skim milk. It was an average experience. The tanginess from each flavor really compliments one another with the sweetness -- I strongly recommend this with crystal boba at 75% sweetness! This has to be my favorite drink of all time at the moment. The Taro boba and every other milk tea boba I've gotten here is solid. The boba was a little too chewy for me but it's all good. I really like the customization here where you can change sweetness and levels of ice. The website wasn't working properly when I had made my order online so when I came to pick up my order, the workers hadn't start making it yet (since they didn't know about it). I recommend calling in instead just to be sure it's ready before you pick it up -- That being said the workers were super nice about it and made the drinks asap. Here, they pack your boba in a plastic bag for you to hold (the top is covered with a plastic layer so you don't have to worry about spilling) Social Distancing -- Workers wear masks and anyone who enters must as well. All the goods mentioned are very good, each with their own unique taste. I would definitely recommend trying out there new honey drinks as that has become a new favorite of mine. Especially the strawberry honey tea. If you are just going for a quick boba run, I would say Ding Tea is the way to go for the taste. It looked good in the photos, but it tasted average. Get a taro milk tea instead. Make sure to check your drinks before you leave! The Cashier did not inform me of my order number, and the employees in the back wasn't sure at first if the order they mentioned was the drink I ordered. After I said thank you and grabbed my drink, they seemed to proceed to gossip and laugh behind my back as I went back to sit at one of the tables. Please work on having better customer service here because that was very disappointing. The interior of the restaurant is pretty nice and they have several tables for outdoor and indoor seating that are reserved for Ding Tea customers. We ordered the kiwi aloe Vera juice and it was actually quite good. The aloe Vera is chewy and cooling and the kiwi juice has little kiwi seeds that add bits of texture to the drink! I would recommend customizing the sweetness because it is rather sweet for someone who would normally order 50%. This is a refreshing cold drink, and I'd definitely recommend it. This is your typical boba/tea place. Their signature milk tea was good but alittle on the sweeter side, ask for less sugar next time. Their golden boba was surprisingly good - not overly soft and chewy. The girl behind the counter was nice and we got our drinks pretty fast the place was constantly busy but not overcrowded.
