    Shrimp Fried Rice
    Lex J.

We tried Ding Ho because we love Chinese food and were intrigued they're the oldest Chinese restaurant in Ohio, and we first heard about them from Rob Martinez on YouTube. We were excited to try them, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The food was so bad that I ended up with a migraine after eating. I usually order the same things at any Chinese restaurant and have never had a bad batch of shrimp fried rice, but here the shrimp were tiny like the ones you'd find in shrimp ramen noodles. The wonton soup was underwhelming; the wontons tasted frozen and old, though the broth itself was decent. The crab Rangoon was okay, though the filling was much sweeter than usual. My friend got the sampler platter which was just okay, and the fried shrimp had zero flavor and wasn't crispy at all. We spent over $50 and didn't even finish any of the food. Definitely overhyped. I honestly would not order from Ding Ho again.

This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant. It feels like stepping back in time. Reminds me of Chinese restaurants from the 80s with the decor - in a good way. And the restaurant has been there about 18 years. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. They have a huge menu. Everything we tried was delicious. The egg drop soup, won ton soup, kung pao beef, moo goo gai kew, egg rolls! All delicious. The egg rolls and soup were enough for a meal themselves. The biggest egg rolls I've seen! I had 1/2 order of the moo goo gai kew and had enough leftover for lunch themselves next day. It was very fresh and green tasting. Full of veggies. We were able to get a table bw 6-7 on a Friday night without a reservation. I can't wait to go back.

Amazing quick service even on a busy Friday evening. I absolutely love the egg rolls. They are the best in Columbus. The beef and broccoli was very flavorful. The tea is hot with a delicate flavor. The restaurant is perfect for conversation with your husband and not too loud. We will be back!

While we were in Columbus celebrating our anniversary we stopped in for some Chinese food at Ding Ho and was great. Great service and great authentic Chinese food. It is very hard to find Chinese restaurants like this today. My wife wasn't super hungry so she got the small appetizer entrée. I wanted to try their famous entree Wor Sue Gai it was very good and nothing like I've had before. The wonton soup was fantastic. The fried rice was great and the egg roll was on point as well. We will definitely be back, well done Ding Ho. BOOM!!!!

Got influenced by this one creator on Youtube to come here since we were in the area and I'm glad I did! Best egg rolls I've ever had out of a chinese place! Everything we had was great. The Wor Sue Gai was a memorable dish. I think of it as a much better japanese chicken katsu/cutlet. The soup, ribs, and fried rice and pecan shrimp were all excellent, no complaints. Server was nice and polite, willing to accomodate to their needs. And the place has ample parking, nicely decorated with their history and accolades displayed inside. Clean and tidy. Highly recommended!

My husband found out about this place on social media so we decided to check it out! It is a little confusing since the restaurant sign said it said Cantonese cuisine. I feel like it's more Chinese American and the vibe is like a Chinese buffet for reference. I did like the egg rolls though, they were massive and stuffed with filling. I got the veggie one. As for the shrimp walnut dish, it was a bit too sweet for me but a good portion! So if you're looking for good priced decent Chinese American food in the area I would check this place out.

I know there's something about restaurants that can make them extremely hit or miss from day to day, so I believe the people who left less than stellar reviews probably weren't lying but I've never had anything other than a blast here. I've tried ordering wor sue gai at other places and it's just never the same and can't match Ding Ho's game. I LOVE the borderline dated interior. I feel like I'm stepping back into my childhood and it just makes the dining experience that much more special. I adore the no nonsense to the point servers. Do they come off as a little brusque? Yeah a little. But do they also do their job with an efficiency that's near inhuman? In my experience also yes. I get the wor sue gai and wor sue upp every time. I probably should branch out and try something else but that dang gravy has me hooked. I love getting as a "dinner" where it comes with soup and the rib, shrimp and egg roll. The egg rolls! They're so good here! I truly hope I never come on a disappointing day because it would be devastating to fall out of love with this restaurant.

Had the best carryout experience. Having a craving, stopped in and ordered an egg roll, Wor Sue Gai, and a Happy Family both with fried rice. Quoted 10-15 minutes and ready within 10. A yelp buddy of mine (Thanks Mike), invites out a couple months ago and I have been craving ever since. Both visits impressed and I am in love with their food! Definitely recommend.

    Crab Rangoon

Very nice dining experience. I can see why they are a go to Chinese restaurant for the CBus market. The dining area was very clean, the service was exceptional, and the food was good. I ordered the hot and sour soup and was blown away as to how good it was. Also, the crab Rangoon was the best I have eaten. The egg roll and spareribs were also very good. As for entrees, I enjoyed the chicken chow mein (even though it was a little too salty) and the house fried rice was very good. I was a little disappointed that they did not have a "secret Chinese" menu as I enjoy more authentic Chinese food. We will definitely return for soups and appetizers.

Ding Ho Special - fried rice, egg roll, butterfly shrimp, spare ribs

I've been curious about this restaurant for a while and finally got the chance to try it the other evening for dinner. Most in my group had already been and are regulars. They've tried a lot on the menu. I decided to go with the Ding Ho special just to sample different items. It came with fried rice, a large egg roll, 2 butterfly shrimp, and 2 spare ribs. The ribs stood out the most. Flavorful and tender. The fried rice was nothing special and the shrimp was bland lol. The egg roll was pretty big! Could be shared or eaten yourself. The cabbage tasted fresh like they had just made the egg roll. But I did get the chance to sample a couple different noodle dishes from my table mates and they tasted very fresh. Lots of veg. I was impressed! The servers are nice. They really know their regulars. Tons of parking over here. I'm not sure which days they get busy but they seemed to have ample space.

Wow'd! Absolutely Wow'd! We were a group of 9, and Mandy took excellent care of us from start to finish. I mean, she was on point. Everyone in our group got something different, and I kid you not, everyone was complimenting their food. From Lo Mein, to Chow Mein, to War Su Gai, Garlic Chicken, pot stickers, egg rolls, and all the various soups, Ding Ho knocked it out of the park tonight! 5 Stars! And A Little More On Your Plate... My highest recommendations: Soups: Just pick one. They're all savory and flavorful. Egg Rolls, Housemade. They will not disappoint. Entrees: War Su Gai - The best in town. Half dark, half white meat chicken on a bed of lettice with that golden sauce. It's delicious! Lo Mein - Tender noodles with a tossing of bok choy. It's an amazing find. Chow Mein - Lots and lots and lots of vegetables. A mild Cantonese favorite. Honey Walnut Shrimp - A great combination of sweet and savory. Potstickers - A great combination of steamed / fried pork filled dumplings.

Excellent Chinese joint. I had the wor sue gai dinner with fried rice, egg roll, won ton soup, and spare rib. It all exceeded my expectations I've never had wor sue gai before. The breading on the chicken was great I loved the style of the sliced breaded chicken with chopped lettuce underneath and orange gravy on top. The won ton soup was so good the lady said they make it from scratch. I think the best egg roll I've had as well. Good stuff. I also loved the atmosphere.

When I walked in the atmosphere was great, I could smell good food and heard conversations. There's a large area with large round tables to right and to the left are booths and almost all of them were full. The menu was a mix of Americanized Chinese, traditional Chinese and included Dim Sum as well. There were a number of dishes we didn't know much about and there were dishes being enjoyed by other customers that looked delicious. The wait staff was more than happy to explain the dishes and/or show us on the menu what someone was eating. They took very good care of us and shared the tasks of bringing our food, filling water, and just checking in. Now the food. The food came out very quickly! We all received a well filled bowl of rice. First out was the string beans, perfectly cooked, not droopy, and the flavors of garlic and hot peppers. Even though the peppers were there the heat was not overpowering at all. Next was the shredded pork with garlic sauce. The textures of the pork and bamboo shoots were a nice contrast and the sauce was perfectly balanced and craveable. The special grilled lamb, I was told, was some of the best in the city. It was tender and well spiced. Even when he said he was full he just couldn't stop eating it. For the dim sum order we got the shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, scallion pancake, and sesame balls and they brought a soy sauce and a chili oil with them. The shrimp dumplings were tender but the dough was pretty sticky. I think this is normal and they were tasty with some of the oil on them. The scallion pancakes were very thin and gummy, this is the only thing we ordered that I would not get again. The soup dumplings were very small but packed a lot of flavor. The dough did stick together a bit so unfortunately some of the soup did leak out. The sesame balls were the hit and we're just the right amount of sweetness that we considered them desert. They were large, at least 2" in size, with a wonderful sesame seed covered exterior and a soft, sweet center. Chuan Jiang Hao Zi is a wonderful somewhat hidden gem. If you want traditional Chinese cuisine including all the different offal they have it and I would totally try it here over anyone else if I was brave enough. Portions were a good size for the price. I highly recommend checking them out!

We were greeted and seated quickly and service was very friendly. As we were hungry, we took a mi Ute to decide what to order. We had planned on storm fish, but made a last minute decision to Sichuan sliced beef (we loveeee a numbing pepper!) with starts of egg roll and spicy wontons. Seriously those wontons are one of the best things in the whole city. They're SO good I could eat a few orders of those alone and be happy. Egg rolls are nice, but just a simple egg roll. Nicely crispy and tasty with the spicy mustard. The Sichuan sliced beef was the perfect thing for a chilly rainy dinner. We love spicy so I'm a bad judge of heat level, but this is spicy but a numbing spicy. Lovely spooned over steamed rice. The cabbage and bean sprouts were my favorite bits in this dish because they added a crunch. Might ask for extra next time!

I wasn't sure if there would be dine in, but there is, plenty of seating inside and out. Inside there are seats at the counter, plus booths, plus I think a couple tables. Menu is pretty basic: hibachi and a few sides. I got steak and chicken, with fried rice, and you pick two vegetables so I picked cabbage and bean sprouts. You get a Yum Yum sauce, and you can add others, but I didn't need them. And the sauce container they gave me was plenty big. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender and flavorful, cooked in a nice sauce. The fried rice was great. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. And it all came out in about five minutes. They had a steady stream of carry out customers, but they still got mine on the grill, apparently as soon as I ordered it. Fast and good, and competitively priced for hibachi. A big portion, but not a huge, two days' worth of leftovers portion. But I was stuffed and couldn't finish it all. When I saw the drink cooler with just water and a few juices, I figured I'd have to go with those, but they do have fountain drinks. And they actually have a pretty good variety, cola, diet cola, cream soda, blueberry, cherry I think, and a few others. Anyway, several pleasant surprises, the food lived up to its reputation, I was in and out fast, and for not a whole lot of money in this day and age. I will be back.
