The staff was very nice and my appointment started right on time. 9:30am on a Friday; I was the only one for the first 30 minutes. The ambience was relaxing. Everything was great until the nail tech cut me pretty bad. My finger still hurt and was sensitive 3 days after my visit. The thing that really disappointed me was my manicure didn't even last 2 days and was already chipping. I usually expect this a week after a manicure but 2 days later?! Anyhow, not sure if I will go back. If only I could remember the name of the tech who did my nails consistently for a few months last year...

I'm not entirely sure what took so long, except that I've always had my own nail shop to go to until pretty recently and have only recently become a nail shop orphan. It's been tough. Being without a nail shop family is one of the loneliest, scariest, and most isolating places a person can be. Who to trust? How to begin anew? Each mani/pedi with a new shop is a shot in the dark, a dangerous gamble, a risky endeavor. So, my sister has been telling me for a while now to stop complaining if I'm not going to just follow her advice (which hasn't led me too far astray in the last 35 years... mostly) and go to her shop. The staff at Glory are all sweet and the shop is clean and tidy. I also couldn't help but notice that their prices were better than what I had been paying at my previous (more pricey) place, and I ain't mad at it. I called before, so I can't speak for their walk-in wait times but they weren't too busy for a Saturday afternoon. I got in and out in a reasonable amount of time but still felt like the pedicurist spent a while on my massage and didn't try to rush through and part of the pampering process. Glory be.

The first time i booked with a random tech and unfortunately my nails didn't come out as expected. However, Tracy fixed them and was very professional about it. They're one of the few nail salons that openly tells you they do gel-x fills, and doesn't pretend they can't fill gel-x even though they do BIAB. I refuse to have my nails reduced to painful sheets of paper because a salon wants to refile the entirety of my nail beds every time I want to change my manicure! Just, NO. Honest salons like K-Lux should be the standard. Janelle's gel-x sets have lasted me longer than a month, no lifting, whereas every other nail tech I've tried anywhere has my gel-x lifting before 2 weeks is even up. If you were about to give up on gel-x, try Janelle before you do! Even though her sets are long-lasting, I'm pretty much dedicated to going every 2 weeks for a fill when I can find the time! Plus they have every single chrome, glitter, crystal, and color you could ever want. It's NOT just what's on the shelves, the swatch decks, the boards, and books. They have drawers full of stuff you don't see. If you have a color you want and you don't see it, just show them! Glass cat eye? They have it. Glitter cat eye? Yup. Airbrush nails? Yes please. 3D designs? Uh-huh. With the selection of accoutrements I haaaaave seen, I wouldn't doubt they also have things like jelly polish, Mylar, flowers, and nail charms. Don't be afraid to ask! Did I mention they stay open til 7PM!!! on weekdays??? Um, yes!!! Just one star off because although they do acrylic, I'm not sure if their removal is soak-off and e-file, or ripping the nail off your bed like most salons, but I'm pretty sure if you asked them to do a soak-off and e-file removal, they would honor that if you preschedule, or they have the time on a walk in. But those are just the vibes I get. I could be wrong. Again, it never hurts to ask. It's a clean, chic salon with a good vibe, and it always smells nice in there. They're accommodating as long as you communicate with them. Try them out. PS. They're gentle with their e-files LOL vital information.
