Had an appointment today with TracyTee. I had requested her on their website to make a manicure appointment. I went to get gel nail polish off, and get a regular manicure. When I got there, it took about 10 to 15 minutes for my appointment to start, even though I got there on time. When she finally got to me, I asked if it was her and that I had the appointment for 3 PM. She started laughing and the other nail technicians started laughing and talking over each other. Of course I don't know what they're saying, but it felt a little condescending... Maybe I'm just overthinking things? She did a pretty good job. I feel like she rushed through it though. When I was in the middle of getting my nails dried, she said I can leave but be careful because my nails are still wet... I never experienced that before, as usual they let us go when we're done. And everything is dry and ready to go. Tip: If you happen to make an appointment, I recommend doing it over the phone or in person. Didn't seem like doing on their website was a popular choice. Busy af at 3 PM on a Saturday. read more

Okay, so I finally gave in and stopped by Belle Nails and Spa on my lunch break to have my full set removed and see if my nails were strong enough for a gel mani. Throughout my visit, my nail tech Sarah (sp?) was everything BUT welcoming or inviting towards me, but I figured maybe shawty was just having a day. (Although her demeanor did seem to perk up whenever she interacted with just about anyone else... But, I'm here to get a mani, not a bestie, I think I'll make it.) Sarah kept me pressuring me to get services I didn't want to get done, and after she had removed my previous nails and shaped and filed my nails and was about to put the color on, it was time for her to "trim" my cuticles. When I tell you this woman came at my digits and began hacking away totally healthy parts of my skin that had no relation to anything even resembling a cuticle. Then she continues with pressing me to get structured gel instead it gel polish, bending my nails to demonstrate how weak they are. I had had it. I told her to charge me for the manicure and that I'd be on my merry way. I got to the register and Seedy Sarah proceeded to charge me $10 for the removal (guess that $8 advertised on the website is the friends and family rate?) and $40 for the "manicure" (again... Here's a friendlier version that still gets your points across clearly: --- I arrived a little late (about 5 minutes past my 2:45 appointment), which was totally my fault. I was called back for my service at 3:00 and showed the nail tech a picture of what I wanted. I had originally booked a dip manicure--though I've never had dip before--but I really wanted this specific design. The tech let me know the design couldn't be done with dip (it was just one neon green stripe with glitter), and suggested hot gel instead. She quoted me \$68 *with design*, which I understood to mean the design was included in that price, so I agreed. When I went to pay, I was really surprised that my total with 20% tip came out to $107. I don't get my nails done often, but this was definitely the most I've ever spent. While they do look nice, I honestly don't feel like they look like $107 nails. On top of that, there's polish left around my fingers on both hands (see photos). I didn't notice until I left since I was still in shock about the price, and normally I would have gone back to say something, but I was on a tight schedule. They were dishonest about the pricing. They showed me the menu with pricing included. The regular mani was $28 and the deluxe mani was $38. The nail tech explained the difference in the services. There was no mention of an additional price. I got the deluxe mani and I was charged $58. The reason I was given was the menu reflected last year's pricing. That was unacceptable. Came here when I needed my nails done before a trip. I saw Betty and she did a gel mani and a regular pedicure with the scrub and paraffin. Ambiance- place was super clean and really spacious. Piano music playing. So calming. The chairs for the pedi as well were massaging ones and DAYUM they were a bit intense but I love a good massage! She also gave me a glass of wine :) Service- My services were amazing! Betty was fast with the polishing, but spent a ton of time on the prep- which is exactly how I feel a good mani/pedi should be. My hands and feet turned out so nice, and she was really sweet and funny. The one thing that I wasn't expecting but I ended up liking is that she did my nails first and then the pedicure. I find a lot of places try to do the services at the same time with multiple people. This made my time at the salon last a bit longer, but I was totally OK with that. I usually go every other week when I can, usually an appointment is needed because they are always so busy. The owner Sharon sets the shop up so nicely and keeps everything clean and up to date. Last week was Chinese New Years and she had such beautiful flowers everywhere. Such a relaxing vibe especially with the relaxing music in the background. Another positive is all the women that work here do an amazing job. When the 2 ladies u usually go see are booked I'll just get an appointment with someone else. So I had made my first appointment of 2022 and when I got there I couldn't help to notice the new massage chairs to get your pedi done in. When I got my pedi the chair seriously was so relaxing it massaged everything making the pedicure that much better. Did I mention too that the ladies massage so good as well. The muay thai training I do my hands and feet are always so sore and hurting as well as the work I do. So I don't plan to ever stop coming here. Plus they always do clean work.
