I decided to go to lavish nails because they had good reviews and it was easy to make an appt online. When I arrived, I was surprised by how messy and unsanitary it looked. I have never seen a salon with so much stuff everywhere. There were nail polishes in boxes stacked on the floor and counter space in the back looked messy and cluttered. My gut feeling almost had me turn around and leave, but I did not want to be rude. I was seated next to the fridge in a pedicure chair. My pedicure was actually really nice. The lady took her time and gave a great massage. I probably would not have taken the time to write a review if I just had the pedicure. My terrible experience was with the nail tech, Simon. I asked for an acrylic fill and asked him for natural looking nails. Half way through, I looked and they were thicker than I like. I asked if they could be thinner and I thought I heard him say mmhmm. When he finished shaping, he showed me them and said he did a curve and that is natural. He stated he was skilled. I did not want to be fussy and now that I look back, I should have said something again because I went home and could not get over how thick my nails were. They looked bubbly and I could not put on my own jewelry on because they were so thick. I convinced myself to go back the next day. I went right when they opened and Simon asked what was wrong and I told him I loved the color and the shape, but my nails were too thick. I was very nice and he told me my nails go up and that is why he had to make them thick. He then said they will break easily once he shaves them down and can't gaurantee them next time. I said, that is fine. (My nails are very sturdy 1.5 weeks later). He begrudgingly filed them down and told me I should never get fake nails if I want them to look natural. I did not respond, but I have had so many fake nails that looked great. He went so fast that my nails have ridges. He did not say bye or anything. The cost for my nail fill and pedi was $120 and I tipped $20 btw.

The staff was very nice and my appointment started right on time. 9:30am on a Friday; I was the only one for the first 30 minutes. The ambience was relaxing. Everything was great until the nail tech cut me pretty bad. My finger still hurt and was sensitive 3 days after my visit. The thing that really disappointed me was my manicure didn't even last 2 days and was already chipping. I usually expect this a week after a manicure but 2 days later?! Anyhow, not sure if I will go back. If only I could remember the name of the tech who did my nails consistently for a few months last year...

I've been going to her for years, and somehow she just keeps getting better and better every time. Not only is her work flawless, but she's incredibly fast. For example, I got a French gel manicure done in just 40 minutes--and it was perfect. I genuinely don't know how she does it. The quality she delivers is top-tier, and honestly, she could (and probably should) be charging more. Her pricing is surprisingly reasonable considering how exceptional her work is. Beyond the nails themselves, the service is just as amazing. Katrina is kind, professional, and truly cares about her clients. She's not just talented--she's a great person. 10/10 recommend.

When I got there, it took about 10 to 15 minutes for my appointment to start, even though I got there on time. When she finally got to me, I asked if it was her and that I had the appointment for 3 PM. She started laughing and the other nail technicians started laughing and talking over each other. Of course I don't know what they're saying, but it felt a little condescending... Maybe I'm just overthinking things? She did a pretty good job. I feel like she rushed through it though. When I was in the middle of getting my nails dried, she said I can leave but be careful because my nails are still wet... I never experienced that before, as usual they let us go when we're done. And everything is dry and ready to go. Tip: If you happen to make an appointment, I recommend doing it over the phone or in person. Didn't seem like doing on their website was a popular choice. The first time i booked with a random tech and unfortunately my nails didn't come out as expected. However, Tracy fixed them and was very professional about it. Tracy is the owner and takes a lot of pride in her work and definitely cares that you walk out of the salon happy with your nails. They're one of the few nail salons that openly tells you they do gel-x fills, and doesn't pretend they can't fill gel-x even though they do BIAB. I refuse to have my nails reduced to painful sheets of paper because a salon wants to refile the entirety of my nail beds every time I want to change my manicure! Just, NO. Honest salons like K-Lux should be the standard. Janelle's gel-x sets have lasted me longer than a month, no lifting, whereas every other nail tech I've tried anywhere has my gel-x lifting before 2 weeks is even up. If you were about to give up on gel-x, try Janelle before you do! Even though her sets are long-lasting, I'm pretty much dedicated to going every 2 weeks for a fill when I can find the time! Plus they have every single chrome, glitter, crystal, and color you could ever want. It's NOT just what's on the shelves, the swatch decks, the boards, and books. They have drawers full of stuff you don't see. If you have a color you want and you don't see it, just show them! Glass cat eye? They have it. Glitter cat eye? Yup. Airbrush nails? Yes please. 3D designs? Uh-huh. With the selection of accoutrements I haaaaave seen, I wouldn't doubt they also have things like jelly polish, Mylar, flowers, and nail charms. Don't be afraid to ask!
