Happy to share that Different Pointe of View is still consistently a premiere choice! Had yet another really wonderful dinner here. This is truly as good as it gets for dinner on this side of town: amazing views (day and night), stellar A+ service, and a refined menu that has just the right amount of options with some variety but thoughtfully curated by their chef and team. I can't sing their praises enough. This is THE spot I bring someone from out of town to show off the Valley. It's top notch. Let's get into the food: everything very very well prepared and delicious (as expected). Parmesan black pepper gnocchi: delicate texture and really solid flavors all around. Had us dipping our bread in to enjoy every last bite! Prickly pear miso glazed Icelandic salmon: light but memorable ponzu, tender and juicy cook, and the black sesame bamboo rice was a great pairing. Aged prime New York strip: perfectly medium rare. A great cut. Decadent Boursin potato cake paired very well with it. Overall, this is still a 10/10 for me. Tip: you need to book a reservation. Don't bank on there being a table and just showing up. It's a very popular spot that does often fill up, or also book out for private events. Don't miss the chance to come here!!

Came here for engagement dinner and had the most amazing time! Nash made the entire night so fun and so special. The food was great, the view was spectacular, and we couldn't have asked for a better evening.

This place is pretty pricey but it is a beautiful restaurant with a nice view . I recommend getting the fried shrimp as an app and the filet mignon !

Ate here twice over the Labor Day weekend. I recommend going before dark to see the amazing view. Our first night we ate here it was dark and the view is amazing but seeing it light outside was even more spectacular I thought. The staff are great and took great care of us. The bar is awesome and the outside area to sit and enjoy the views is second to none. I had the Filet (which was cooked exactly how I asked for it) was very tender and mouth watering. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, both were excellent. My wife had Gnocchi and Truffle mashed potatoes as well as the Kale salad. She loved it!

Beautiful restaurant located in a beautiful location. Old restaurant but well maintained, huge with plenty of seating indoor and outdoor on multiple locations. Service is friendly, polite, professional and attentive. The menu is simple but has something for everyone. Everything we had was wonderful, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. This is an amazing restaurant for a special event or just a great meal.

Glad we made reservations in advance to get at the top of this mountain. Wow the food and views were amazing!! I would highly recommend eating at this restaurant if you are in the area or stay at the Hilton Hotel. It's very steep coming up so be sure to drive or have a go-kart. I would definitely come back!

NY Grilled New York Strip Steak with Boursin potato cake

Came here for my birthday and had the best meal I've ever had in my life. Our server was incredible and the ambiance was unmatched. We had the best seat in the house! Unfortunately there was a major ~haboob~ covering the city so we couldn't see much but amazing nonetheless. The gnocchi was so incredible we were wishing there was more. The bread tasted extremely fresh and the pesto dip it came with was yummy. I ordered the filet with potatoes and it quite literally melted in my mouth. Plated so well too. I don't even know what else to say about it. It was perfect. My partner ordered the NY strip and his was delicious as well and the Boursin potato cake was so unique and tasty. Drinks were great too. All around everything was just perfect. If I ever find myself on death row this would be my last meal. We will absolutely be back!

Love coming back to this place for the great service and high quality food, and the view is incredible.

Food was delicious! Went here for a birthday dinner. The tomahawk steak and the gnocchi were incredible. Service was quick and prompt with all staff very attentive. The views from this place were beautiful. Will definitely be coming back!

Mussels with smoked salmon

Amazing views, great food, and impeccable service. Our server (Nick?) really could not have been better. My daughter's steak (ordered medium) was pretty close to well done, and he didn't even ask if she wanted another one, he just took care of it immediately and said he'd have another steak out for her right away. The fried rice egg appetizer was fantastic. The Caesar salad was just okay -- way too much dressing. I got the mussels with smoked salmon as my entree, and it was fine. I'd give the food quality a 4/5, but the ambiance & service definitely make it a 5 overall.

Had some issues at the front desk, our reservation I made on open table didn't pop up. Which is weird because I paid $30. Not sure how that happened or works! Never had to pay for reservations.. that I know of. Anywho, Richard was our server. We asked to be seated with a view and it was beautiful, right at a window! Richard was friendly! He also offered to take our photos outside. He made the experience good. Food was yummy! I ordered the chefs special and he order the NY strip! Both cooked to perfection. We loved the Tiger Shrimp app - tasted fresh which is rare when you order seafood in the desert. Looked at the dessert menu but we were too full. Lots of great photo ops on each floor. We would come back!

The view!

Impeccable! From the view, to the food, to the service, Different Pointe of view is the best of the best. This is a Phoenix institution and if you have not been, you must go. If you're looking to take someone to a place to impress them, this is the way to do it. I was there for a work dinner and we opted to order a variety of items and go family style. I'm so glad we did because we got to try a large portion of the menu and everything was absolutely delicious! See photos for the menu and food. When you go, time it so you can have a sunset drink on the patio before dinner. You will not regret it!

Ask the Community - Different Pointe of View

Do you have to make a reservation?

Yes! And I recommend making it early. I wasn't able to get one when I was looking three days out.

What's the noise level inside versus outside? Can you easily hold a conversation with a large group of people?

The noise level was moderate but we were definitely able to easily hold conversations with our feeling like you're shouting!

Are we able to reserve where we are seated when making our reservations?

Yes I believe so at least like in a general area near a window so you get the evening view !

Are you allowed to wear base ball hats?

They have a dress code since it's considered a fine dining venue. So I would say no and that would apply to other spirts apparel like football jerseys. Why don't you call them or just go to a spirts bar.

Does anyone know about the prices for their food items? Or approximately how much does one spend for two people?

My friends and I went for my birthday and me and my husband got the risotto, chicken, 2 beverages (1alcoholic bev.), a cheesecake dessert and 1 lobster bisque appetizer and the total was $150 and that included gratuity. Entrees can waiver between…

Can we be seated outside for dinner (not just bar)? We are looking for a place to entertain a business associate and their requirement is that we eat outside.

There was a wedding when I went so I'm sure they can accommodate!

Do they have a bar where you can get a drink if not interested in dinner?

Yes, they have a bar one level below the main dining area. The view is basically the same. We just walked in to look around a bit, so I cannot attest as to the service or if they serve appetizers there or not. But, really nice bar area one level…

Is there a happy hour?

I am pretty sure there are no happy hour specials at the Different Pointe of View. We could only get reservations for right after the opened (I think ours were at 5:30pm and they opened at 5pm). No one said anything re: Happy Hour specials or what…

Where's the best place to sit in the restaurant for the best view?

Definitely outside on the patio. They are all good out there.

How far in advance should I make a reservation for a Saturday evening slot?

Special holidays require advanced reservations, but usually the rest of the time there are eating available. Lot depends on hotel vacancy and events.

What is the dress code?

Casual dress but there were out of town people dress in tees and shorts no so dressy

Does the restaurant have a bar so we can go for a drink and small bite rather than a full meal? And if so, does it have a happy hour?

They do have a large bar that opens to the deck area with panoramic views! I'm not sure about Happy Hour.

Does anyone know if there are vegetarian options at this place ? Please let me know.

The menu is ever changing so I would recommend just checking the menu online before you go or calling.

On OpenTable - it says the Terrace Lounge opens at 5pm and Different Pointe of View opens 6pm. Yet on the Hilton site - it shows both open 6pm. Does the lounge open before the restaurant?

It currently opens at 6pm. Hope this helps. You'll love it there

Hi I have a question how much is the average bill for two people? I'm a college student and wanna take a girl out. How much should I be prepared to pay

Depends on if you do a full course or not. Depending on your entree choices you could be around $100 for two alone, or around $100 with 2 entrees and an appetizer (before tax + tip).

Is there dancing? My significant other is coming in a week and i would love to take him somewhere classy and somewhere we can dance?

There was no dancing the night I went, and I didn't see a place for dancing (unless it would be part of a private event like a wedding).

What would you recommend as the best locations to request for seating (both indoor and outdoor)? Are there window tables indoors that have some view blocked by outside tables?

Ask for a seat by the window looking out on the city if you're sitting indoors. Otherwise, if you're going to sit outdoors, ask for a view of the city.

I plan to come on weekdays, do I need to make reservation?

Here, it is always a good idea to make a reservation. Is it required? No. Is it a good idea? Oh, yeah.

Are they open on sundays?

Yes, from 5pm to 8pm.

But, if you're looking for a really cool bar, KWSC is for you. I stopped by on a week day evening around 8:30 p.m. Located in Roosevelt Row, while there isn't parking, I found free parking on the street a few minutes away on foot. Ambiance (4.5/5): My type of spot. Dimly lit with a speakeasy vibe. There are eight or so seats at the bar, and the rest of your seating options consist of comfortable chairs and sofas. You'll see a lot of photos of people's bums on the walls lol. This is indeed part of the appeal. For free, if you would like, they will take a polaroid of your butt and memorialize you eternally on the walls. While I didn't do that, if that's up your alley, go for it. Service (2/5): This is the main area of improvement. After being seated, I was greeted promptly and got my first cocktail promptly. From there, things fell apart. I had to grab the bartender's attention to order my second drink and to close out. It was a week day and they weren't busy. And there were two bartenders. A lack of attentiveness. When I closed out, I noticed that the cocktails were both $2 more expensive than what was listed on the menu. When I inquired, I was told that the menus were outdated... umm what? If you're not going to re-print your menus, give people a heads-up when they arrive. I understand that most people won't notice, but this is deception. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet. If you're trying to eat here, all they have is snacks. The menu doesn't specify but I'm thinking it's probably chips or somethign like that. Drinks (4/5): A lengthy, and interesting, cocktail list. Similar to a speakeasy, you're going to see creativity and an interesting blend of flavors here. The most popular drink is Fuck Nazis. We're seeing a theme here. KWSC is an interesting spot. For various dollar amounts, you can get funny things outside of the polaroids of your bum. My first cocktail was great. My second one, a tiki drink, not so much. The menu said that there would be some flame action happening. It didn't. Just another example of the service falling short. If the service were better, Killer Whale Sex Club would easily be a five-star experience.

Based on how this place is described and marketed, we were expecting an intimate, vintage-feeling evening where we could sit down, have a cocktail, listen to jazz, and enjoy the atmosphere. That was not our experience. There were definitely things we liked. The location was great, the overall theme and decor were beautiful, the lighting created a great atmosphere, and we enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was also very good. However, the entertainment was a huge miss and completely took us out of the experience. We walked in and the band was performing "Genie in a Bottle," followed by other current/recent pop songs, Backstreet Boys songs, and "Creep." The singer was repeatedly screaming into the microphone and encouraging everyone to scream and make noise. At one point, while sitting in what is supposed to be a speakeasy, we were literally listening to him sing "creep" which is one of the most depressing songs of all time. It felt much more like being at a loud dive bar or country bar than an intimate 1920s inspired speakeasy. My biggest issue is that the entertainment did not match the experience being advertised. You can decorate a room beautifully and make it look like the 1920s, but when the soundtrack is "Genie in a Bottle," "Creep," and Backstreet Boys songs being loudly belted into a microphone, the illusion disappears pretty quickly. The noise level also made it difficult to simply sit, have a drink, talk, and enjoy the space. We specifically chose this place because we wanted that relaxed jazz/speakeasy experience, and that simply wasn't what we got. The cocktail selection was another disappointment. For a speakeasy-style bar, I expected a stronger selection of specialty bourbon and whiskey cocktails. The prices also felt excessive for the overall experience. On top of the already-high prices, we paid a $20 entertainment cover ($10 per person) specifically for the band. I wouldn't have minded paying a cover for quality live entertainment that fit the advertised atmosphere, but the artist was not particularly impressive and, more importantly, the music didn't fit the theme at all. There is a lot of potential here. The space itself is beautiful, the service was good, and they nailed many of the visual details. Unfortunately, the entertainment is such a major part of a speakeasy experience that it overshadowed everything else for us. If you're specifically looking for jazz, flapper-era music, and an authentic-feeling 1920s speakeasy atmosphere, I would not recommend this place based on our experience.

Wow. All I can is what a restaurant! Came here on a Wednesday night 3 weeks before Christmas and…read moreit was a vibe. Secluded upstairs dining area with heaters available. Excellent service, a Christmas tree upstairs, and no reservations required. Glad they were able to seat us considering we showed up without reservations. Downstairs gets quickly reserved so seats upstairs are where they push overflow patrons. Right outside Flint's doors downstairs there is a staircase which opens up to the upstairs dining area. Service was prompt, and we got our drinks by the time we had our mains decided. I got a glass of red to pair with my steak. My partner had a refreshing cocktail, but it was decent. The highlights of the night were the food. SO MUCH FOOD! And it was TERRIFIC! For starters we got the artichoke hummus. It sounded a bit weird, but all it was was regular hummus with 4 artichoke hearts that were crispy. The artichoke hearts were crisp, but moist, and I could have kept eating those all day. It comes with 1 pita bread. The server told us to order another and we did, turns out we needed it as the pita breads were quite small ($3 +). Sure only 3 bucks, but nickel and dime if you are spending $14 on an app... For mains I got the filet medium rare with a side of regular potatoes. My partner got the salmon skewer with a side of asparagus. Both the dishes were cooked perfectly and they were familiar dishes with a slightly exotic touch to it. Must be the middle eastern part of the restaurant. The steak came with a ganache or accompaniments of middle eastern sides. Can't recall what they were but they were great when I dipped my potatoes in them. It was sour, tart, acidic, kind of like middle eastern soy sauce. The server recommended it to us and we got it. The salmon skewer came with 5 decent sized pieces on it. Great for a small eater or someone who doesn't want their own meal. It too was delicious and had light touches of sauce or smoke on it. The asparagus is a favorite. It was cooked as usual, typical steak side and both me and my partner enjoyed it! For dessert, as it was my partners birthday the server comped the pound cake. While it was delicious, it was definitely the letdown of the meal. It was way too sweet including the layer of cream that it was doused with. The sweat cream wasn't necessary as the pound cake was incredibly sweet itself. Also, the pound cake wasn't soft like normal cake. It was quite dry once you peeled away the creme layer up top. I definitely should have gone with the Chocolate Ganache Tart. But their mess up worked in their favor. I'm definitely coming back for another meal at Flint!

Upstairs at Flint is just as AMAZING as inside the restaurant! The food is STILL on 1000% DELISC!…read morethe Service is PERFECT as always! and the ambiance is STELLAR! A beautiful view of the Camelback Mountains. We had a reservation but decided on sitting upstairs, instead. I love that the hostess' are very nice about giving you the options. I have been going to this restaurant since 2018 for business lunches, nice dinners, a company Christmas party-Upstairs. iI is my go to and I highly recommend Flint to others.
