Super cool staff ! Very friendly; Alexis was extremely helping in letting me try on different sizes and let me run in a pair on the treadmill. When I finished I completely forgot about my items on the treadmill and when I came back all of it were gone. All the staff was more than helpful in helping me find it! I got my stuff back. This is a big Dicks Sporting Goods with a lot of selection. There is tons of parking and the location is terrific as there are a lot of other stores nearby which you can stop at afterwards including Whole Foods, Best Buy, HomeGoods, The Container Store and PetSmart. read more

DICK'S Sporting Goods - Big time! - Sports Wear Near Me - El Segundo, California

Bought a mountain bike here. They have quite a selection. Prices range from average to pretty good on sale. However, their assembly and tech services are scary. Neither front or rear derailleur was shifting correctly when the bike "is ready for pickup". Took a bike tech 20 min to zero and adjust them. He was skilled, and bike is smooth in that respect now. Bike was SO sloppily assembled so that handlebar stem came loose on first ride, due to steerer tube nuts not adjusted, despite wedge being very tight. There also was a component missing that Dick's claimed didn't exist, until shown the manufacturers page that lists the item. Then a different bike tech magically 'found an extra one' in the back of the shop. Plus small things like a reflector missing the bolt that holds it. What make this store SUCK so bad, is the "I really don't give a sh*t" attitude" from store management. I never asked for anything other than fixing the problems on a brand new bike that should have been fully ready to go. read more

I visited Dick's Sporting Goods this morning to pick up some items and was so impressed by the help and support of their staff. Specifically the manager Stephanie, who ensured that I got a great deal and that I had assistance during my trip. Jamaal was extremely patient and kind while I repeatedly changed my mind during the checkout process. Also - Bryce and Tele'a, who were maybe the most helpful, not only put individual thought and care into all of the items that they recommended for me but they also helped me get my entire purchase out to and into my vehicle. This is our second visit to this location. The primary reason I'm not giving it a full 5 Stars is because and I sadly forgot the woman's name that assisted us but she was very vague and unfriendly. I was too tired at the time to write a review on my experience that day. However today's visit was exceptional especially because the representative Jamaal went above and beyond in meeting our needs. Two things one is he reminded us about our discount to which I honestly would've forgot to use and he also asked if i'd like my sons 1st baseman glove to be steamed. I went to Dick's Sporting goods looking for a pair of Merrell's, since I know they're one of only a few stores that carry them. It was about 8:45 pm so the store wasn't busy; however, there appeared to be a little rush in the shoe section. After finding the shoe I wanted, I waited for a sales rep to come over. And waited...and waited. Eventually I had to hunt the only sales associate down when he emerged from the stock room and asked if I could try a size. Two minutes later he yelled across the room where the shoe I had found is located...and after repeating myself about 5 times he finally found the large display of Merrell shoes. Fast forward another 3 minutes and he asks what size I needed again. Fast forward another 5 minutes and he comes out to tell me that there are no 8 1/2's. Just size 10's and above. And leaves. Weird...because the shoe on the floor was a size 9, and I would have gladly tried that pair on--which I ended up doing by myself with that one shoe and it DID FIT perfectly. At least I found out my size so I could order it on Amazon. Dick's has such a great store layout, and a good selection of stuff. But this is the second time I've come here and experienced really BAD customer service. I'm not sure if they're just throwing new trainees on the field, but they need team members to come and help out when they know one section is busy. I mean there were 5 cashiers at an empty checkout stand while about 8 customers were just lost in the shoe department. read more

Theirs barely any hockey equipment if any, this store carries nothing but clothes it seems. This store is heavy on basketball, baseball and running gear. I'm a huge Nike fan so I'm not sure why the reviews are so low. My only problems were the dressing rooms are locked and they take forever to come open one for you. Also, they don't carry any women's basketball shoes. However, they have great deals and awesome coupons. Prices are competitive to Nike outlet stores and you don't pay for shipping so they are my go to for hooping gear. read more

My husband and I went to a variety of places to get information and test a few treadmills since we know it's a big purchase. As soon as we entered this Dick's sporting goods we knew we wanted to purchase our treadmill from there because they attended us right away. My husband and I look very youg and sometimes we are not taken as serious when making big purchases, therefore we were unsatisfied with many other stores that sold treadmills such as Sears, Best Buy, Walmart that didn't take the time to explain the different machines and quality. What we loved most about our visit was that Mike S. went above and beyond to explain in detail exactly what we asked. He didn't judge us based on our age, he answered all our questions and even offered to let us borrow the treadmill key to test the machines and choose what we thought was most convenient. Mike S. is very knowledgeable on this area since he mentioned installing the treadmills and was very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. I have never been to a store where such trust is given to a customer and especially time. My husband and I even sat on the treadmills and did a little research to make sure we were making the right decision. Another thing that we loved was that no representative rushed us. There were actually other representatives that came over and asked if we had already been helped. One of those representatives was Deon. Deon also gave my husband and I an insight on the treadmills and offered to let us try them a little longer to make up our minds. Everyone from that store that came up to us gave an amazing customer service. My husband and I were later helped by Deon on the register and we appreciated how he explained the importance of the additional warranty. Another representative, whose name I do not recall also gave us insights and additional information which we appreciate. After finding out that Mike S. Was going to install our treadmill we couldn't be happier. Mike S. is very professional and if it was not for the amazing customer service we received from him and Deon since the very beginning, we probably would not have purchased a treadmill there. Overall, my husband and I have never felt so good about a big purchase like the one we had at Dicks. Customer service is everything and we sure did feel special as soon as we walked into this store. After our store experience we were beyond satisfied with the installation services Dicks Sporting Goods offers. Mike S. was very punctual and so professional he even unpacked the treadmill outside my apartment so that he would not dirty my carpet. As he was Installing the treadmill he kept answering questions I had in regards to giving it the proper maintenance. After Installing the treadmill he even offered to throw the huge boxes to the main dumpster so that I would not do it myself since I was home alone. As previously stated, my husband and I are very pleased with not only our purchase but also the great service everyone on that store gave us. Thank you for not judging us based on our appearance and for going above and beyond to help us find what we were looking for. I come here often, for new crossfit gear or what-have-you. I like their large selection and they always have nice sales. The one BIG downside is their customer service, especially when it comes to trying things on. You have to push a call button for assistance at every dressing room, which then announces over the loud speaker that someone (ANYONE) needs to open a dressing room for a customer. Every time, I end up waiting 5-10 minutes for someone to open a room for me. It's highly irritating. If they could fix that problem, it'd be a much better shopping experience. read more

During the years I was running a lot, I bought my running shoes at specialty stores. Then when injuries kept me from running, I started buying them at the Sports Chalet in the Marina. But they've closed. The last two pairs I'd purchased there were so worn out I finally had to replace them. Even though the reviews for Dick's were not great, I decided to give it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice variety of styles, and actual people working in the shoe department. Last two times I tried the Big 5 on the other side of El Segundo, apparently the entire shoe department staff was off on a retreat or something. No one ever came out to help me. At Dick's I was approached by one of the staff the moment I walked into the shoe area. The guy who helped me was very good. The only reason this review wasn't a five star one is that they only had one pair in the model and color shoe I chose. I could have ordered a second pair online but decided to break a rule of mine and buy them in different colors. Price was reasonable. Parking was a breeze. read more

The rep in the shoe section told me the rack where the shoes were in 25% sale and My daughter spent half hour to select the shoes only to find at the check out counter that only the shoes ending with price .93 were on sale. When I went back and ask the rep, she just laughed in my face as if trying to say "got you" and then removed the sale sign. Apparently there were no shoes there on that sale rack that ended in price .93 Didn't expect that type of customer service from a prestigious store and the reaction of the rep was just horrible. read more

Dicks has a wide variety of brand named merchandise. Their prices are generally higher than their competitors, Sports Chalet, Sports Authority and Big 5. Their competitive pricing policy rarely beats their competition. I recently wanted to get a tennis racquet restrung and saw a good string on sale. Dicks wouldn't waive the $12 stringing charge even after they verified that Sport Chalet strings racquets for just the price of the strings purchased and they couldn't tell me whether their stringer guy was actually a certified stringer. Trust me, you'll see the difference when a "I think I know how to string a racquet" guy strings your racquets. So I took my business to Sport Chalet in Torrance where they matched the string price of $14.97 and strung it for free. No hassle! read more

I was looking for a particular treadmill and when I went to the manufacturer's website, they advised me to visit Sears or Dick's Sporting Goods. Well, Sears wasn't helpful so I decided to go with Dick's Sporting Goods. I called the store prior to my visit to make sure they had the product I was looking for. When I arrived at the store, the employees were all friendly and helpful. No gimmicks :D The sales associate who dealt with fitness equipment was knowledgeable with most of the equipment and didn't try to up sell me the more expensive one. They loaded my car up and even made sure that we were satisfied with the product. I also noticed that parking was ample in a lit-area, not in one of those mall parking lots. I'll be back to purchase some more items should I need to get sporting equipment. Overall grade: A read more

Sometime earlier this week, wandered in here hoping they would have the item I needed. I couldn't find it but the store manager saw me and asked me if I needed help. Turns out that this location did not have what I needed, but the manager went as far as taking his time to call another store for me to see if they had it in stock. He even asked them to hold it for me. I definitely felt like he wanted to help me to get what I needed, even if it wasn't from his store I'm particular. I really miss Sports Authority; my "go to" sporting goods store. By default, I was forced to go to Dick's Sporting Goods to find an athletic back brace. After some browsing, I didn't find what I needed so I asked a sales associate for some assistance. She was able to point me in the right direction, but when I had questions, she called for an associate (Marco) more familiar with that particular merchandise. I waited for 15 minutes, still in the same aisle, and to my dismay, no one showed up. I found her again and told her "he must have found something more important to do than customer service". She appeared surprised that he didn't come over to provide assistance. I totally forgot that there was a Big 5 Sporting Goods store not too far away, on El Segundo Blvd., so I immediately left the store and went to Big 5 where the service was measurably better. The sales associate there helped me find what I needed and then some. I left there pleased with my purchases. I won't be shopping at the Dick's Sporting Goods-El Segundo store any more. Poor customer service is putting it mildly. If this is acceptable sales associate behavior, I don't hold much hope for the new Del Amo store whenever it opens. read more

Came here for soccer stuff for the Fall season and backpacks for school. I felt the amount of soccer gear was good (colors, sizes, etc). The gentleman who helped size my kids wasn't the speediest but he was thoughtful. The backpacks were outrageously expensive. Yikes! read more

Even though what is on the website is not always in the store, the staff was extremely helpful in getting me what I wanted. They help you order right in the store your size and color. Even when I was at the cash register they asked me if I found everything ok; or if I still needed help locating something. Honestly the store is so big I always go here first before I go to the competitors. Upon walking in I was not greeted, fair enough they were busy. As I walked to the back to shop around a pair of shoes I noticed two store associates, one male, one female engaging in conversation. Again, not a problem until I made eye contact with both, yet neither one bothered to come up to me and ask if I needed help finding a shoe size. I spent at least 10 minutes waiting to be asked if I needed assistance. "WAITED TO BE ASKED". Then to top it off another associate walked by without acknowledging me. Visited Dicks to find women's golf clothing, especially blouses with collars, which are required on the course. After searching the entire store, asked an associate if they have any. Was taken to a sale rack with two sleeveless, collared shirts, and then an area where there was a few solid colored tops and shorts - in black, pink and purple. Really? Not a feminist but the men's golf ware was extensive. Even considered buying a men's size small since they had such a great selection, but ended up going to Penny's to find shirts with collars in realistic colors.
