I love this store, and I have spent well over $300 in the last month alone on clothes there, but they REALLY need to teach their managers to be nice to their customers. My daughter did not like the leggings that I bought on 11/11/24. She had tried them on, and evidently tore out the care labels. The leggings were PRISTINE, she had NOT WORN them. I had the receipt, and the lady said she could not return them because the care tags were out. I asked to speak to her manager, and she said she was the only manager on site and I could call corporate. When I asked about the "give it a workout" guarantee, she told me that was not in effect because it was the wrong fabric???!! The guarantee says items can be returned for ANY REASON! It says nothing about the care tag. The manager needs training on customer service. I'm terribly disappointed and annoyed. read more

Clothing is crucial, especially when working out, cause there are very few people we really want to see naked, amirite?! Athleta has great garb, for sure, but what makes this location a stand out are the Sunday classes. Most Sundays at 10 (check their community events website), for an hour, the classes are not just free, but they usually have a drawing for free gift card for the store, and discount coupons. Yassss! Other yay about thIs location is they have their own bathroom (woot no public loo!!). But.... Parking is a nightmare most days, so one star off. Cheyanne was helpful and I found a high neck sports bra that is very comfortable. It's cute enough to wear solo under a loose yoga style sweater. The yoga pants had a thin waist elastic which I do not find comfortable in my experience. Much prefer the one inch thick elastic found in some other yoga pants as it is more comfortable when bending over, wrapped in a pose, etc. The dressing rooms were near full so when I had to get my own different size of a sports bra, when I came back someone was about to take my room which meant I would have had to wait twice. I guess I should have asked my boyfriend to grab another size but he was in the waiting area not next to my room. I appreciate that they help get fair wages for the women who make their clothes. I always shop Athleta but this visit was very different and unfortunate. As consumers, we have MANY choices when spending our money. This particular associate JENNIFER doesn't understand that basic concept when it comes to customer service and professionalism. I have never EVER been told by an employee that it is the customer's JOB to tell the EMPLOYEE when they have rewards points to spend! This rude girl JENNIFER did just that! She never greeted me when I stepped to the register to pay for my items, she just wanted to ring me up and get me out! She rang so fast and never checked my profile for rewards points and when I asked her about it she became unhinged and lashed out at me saying it was my job to let HER know whether I had points or not. The Marina del Rey store does a MUCH better job by far! This Jennifer was upset that I said that I would have liked to use my rewards (after she finally looked the info up) and she began refunding an item and re-ringing it to apply the rewards but without even communicating what she was doing. When she was done she whipped head around and turned her back on me after shoving the receipt into my bag! I asked her for her name and she responded "I'm not giving it to you" and rolled her eyes at me. I asked again and that's when her manager stepped in and got involved. The manager gave me her name JENNIFER and I explained to the manager how her employee behaved. The manager agreed with me the customer that it is in fact the job of the EMPLOYEE to look up a customer's profile to check for rewards! JENNIFER then starts shouting at me saying "i was so nice to you"! JENNIFER if you are reading this you have a LOT to learn about self control my dear and also a lot to learn about how to treat a paying customer. Learn to take accountability for your actions and stop lashing out at customers. Learn your JOB and have some humility about yourself! YOU WERE WRONG on so many levels and I hope management has taken the responsibility of speaking to you sternly, and have re-trained you on how to conduct yourself and do your job correctly and more efficiently! I'm an athletic girl so of course I love this store! Their clothes are versatile so they can be worn from gym to everyday. I purchased this fitted button down white crisp shirt that would look fabulously with a pair of black leggings which looks so nice it can even be worn to an interview. There is a similar top at Nordstrom's for $248 and I found one here for $79 so I'm a happy girl. I also got a couple other items on sale and when I got up to pay they were even more discounted...don't you just love when that happens! The store is always clean and organized. I love that they have a little coloring corner for the kids in the dressing area. This way moms can try on their clothes in peace! I love shopping Athleta's clothing line. Been here few times. Tonight was odd. When ringing up my item that was priced a sale price at $59.99, it rang up at $79.99! The staff ringing me up kept insisting the accurate cost was $79.99 even though the price tag has it at $59.99! I get it she's young and probably doesn't get it. If it says $59.99 then it's $59.99! Someone clearly placed the wrong amount. I asked her to get the store manager so that o can ask them to "honor" the $59.99! She comes back to tell me the manager said they'll do it this one time and make an exception! Like seriously, get it together and correct YOUR mistake without trying to imply I'm wrong! Just picked up a hoodie and a light weight puffer jacket. So many great styles to choose from! I love that they have thicker leggings for the winter. I've been wearing these a lot lately and with the weather cooling down in the evenings, these have been keeping me warm. So comfortable, I can wear them all day. I saw some items at the Santa Monica store but they didn't have my size so I ordered them online. After the arrival, I changed my mind and decid d to return them at a local store I found that I didn't even know was there. I don't know what to think of this store really. I automatically went to the register and a blonde girl helped me that didn't look too happy. She didn't ask me if I was interested in exchanging them for something else or not even a "thank you" after the return transaction. I did look around and like the other reviewers wrote about the sales representatives were right. Nobody even asked if they could help me. This Athleta is fantastic. The employees have all been superbly friendly and helpful. I have shopped here about 8 times since the point opened up, since Athleta makes up most of my mom wardrobe. I have had pants hemmed and a dress stitched that turned out wonderful. I really like the quality of the workout material that is in the pants. I don't like the quality of their cotton. It tends to start looking warn quickly. If you want more than a season of wear, stick with the non-cotton items. The dresses that are not cotton have been fantastic. This is the kind of clothing to bring on a cruise or a trip overseas, light-weight and quick to dry. They offer free yoga/exercise class on Sunday morning. These are really for beginners, but the twice I attended, I had fun. They are fantastic with my son!!! We feel extremely welcomed when shopping with our kids. Bottom Line: My favorite store at The Point. read more

I was at the store last night and I asked about how to sign up for the Sunday class. The employee had no idea and suggested I check the website. I then asked about the Global Run discount for the local run club. She tells me there's none. I tell her it should be so she calls someone in the back room. They confirm there is a 20% discount. I ask if it applies to all purchases. She tells me she thinks only on regular priced items. So, she was unfriendly and unhelpful. I walked out... Lululemon across the way was having a celebration and their staff was helpful and courteous. That's the kind of place that wants my patronage. Athleta... you only get one first impression, you missed out on the opportunity to sell your overpriced merchandise with me. read more

First off, I LOVE Athleta! And I NEVER write retail store reviews, but this location has the WORST customer service I've ever experienced so I felt compelled to rant. Need another size? Good luck! You'll be running out of the dressing room to get it yourself in whatever too big, see through top you've already tried on. And the sales girls will watch you while they stand by chatting amongst themselves and not even offer to help!! Seriously!? I finally asked for help and got one of them to irritatingly check for other sizes. And then she comes back with a completely different item! Awful! Been in here about 3 times, all looking at clothing for my daughters, and the help is awesome. I have two daughters and they love this type of athletic but cool look clothing and every time I have been in here I have been directed on what to buy and my daughters love it. Its almost as though the staff knows what my daughters like! They were very cordial, said hi to me when I walked in, and everyone had a smile on their face. My daughters love it because they are always there for them in the dressing room, helping them out and telling them what looks good and helping then with proper fit. She's assisted me in finding my size, finding the type of capris that I prefer and holding a fitting room for me. She also helped me with an online return, which was no hassle. The sales people at this location are rude. I love Athleta and most of their clothing is very high quality and lasts for years. I only come to the location at The Point when I need a change of scenery. The people who work there are not great most of the time when I am there. While there are a few stand-outs, most seem entitled and annoyed to be working. Tonight is the night I decided not to go back to this location. This is a not a huge deal, but it just rubbed be the wrong way. I did not realize that they close at 6 and walked in a few minutes after in order to return something. 3 people yelled at me that the store is closed, only the third saying, "Sorry, we are closed." She was the last to respond and maybe realized that the other 2 had been rude. First, do not yell at your customers. It is unacceptable. Second, if you are closed why are the doors still unlocked? Third, ask if there is something you can quickly help with and let your customer know when you will be open again. Bottom line, do not act like bitches! read more

As someone who shops online A LOT, I am always stunned when I make the effort to actually go to a brick and mortar store and the effort is rewarded by lousy customer service, which in turn makes me go running back to online. I visited this athlete on a friday around noon, my advice don't go at this time unless you want to tear your hair out trying to find parking, I'll be hard pressed to go back to the point is only for this reason. So I did grab a space on my "last" sweep around the parking lot and strolled into athlete, which had NO customers in it. Where were all those people in the parking lot? Anyway, I specifically went to try the new Moto pants, they are super cute and typically I take a tall ( which is not carried in store) bethought Id take a chance anyway. After looking through a few piles of the style, my size was nowhere, a sales associate approached and I told her what I was looking for and it wasn't in any pile, did she have more. Oh sure she replied and proceeded to look through the piles. Again. I did remind her that I had just looked so she check the back stock, found my size and put me in a dressing room, and of course "let know if you need anything". So far so good. While the pant fit at the top, the legs were ridiculously tight and my legs are not my "fat" part so of course I'm poking my head out to get someones attention for the next size. I spent a few minutes doing this and finally gave up thinking "if I get all the way dressed and no one comes, I'm leaving". So now I take my time to get dressed and no one comes, but damn I really want to try the next size, so out I go back to the piles, where I spy my associate speaking with her manager I think, if not another associate. They both look at me as I look through the piles, again, neither saying a word. Again my size, is not there BUT this time, no one cares, they keep talking. I walk back to the dressing room, put my shoes on,pack up my stuff and leave. on the way out the sales associates asks me if the pants worked out. Seriously. read more

First I hope someone from corporate is reading this reviews and I will contact district manager. I usually purchased everything only from Gap, Athleta, Lululemon and many others. First this store located at el segundo has the worst customer service. the moment I enter the store, the ladies that work there did not even welcome me or my sister. so I sat on one of those chair and let my sister go look for some clothing. A minute later some other people came to the store and the employees welcome them. so I noticed that after 3 more new customers came in to the store they were all welcome but me and my sister never and they never offer us some help to look for some clothes. So I Wonder, are the employees from Athleta racist and only welcome Caucasian people and did not welcome us because we were Hispanic. Second i believe that employees should help customer no matter if they are going to purchased or not. is their job and if they don't like their job, they should get another job. i personally thing this looks very bad for a company such as Athleta to treat their customers the way I was treated. Corporations like Gap, Amazon, Athleta survive because we the customer purchased their merchandised and without us, they wouldn't exists. I will contact district manager from Athleta and complaint with their service how incompetent and awful they were with me. just a little reminder, Athleta is not the only store that sells clothes. I will never put another step into any of the Athleta store. I rather go to lululemon than Athleta stores.
