Whenever I'm in town, I definitely like checking out this Free People, not every store has the same products and I always have really good luck here! On Black Friday, I swung by hoping to find a dress I saw online, no such luck but I was able to find a blouse that was perfect for the holiday events to come! The gal who was assisting me was so good at her job she got me to order the dress and have it shipped to my home. I am not one to do this, I really like to have things in my hand once I pay for it, but she was so sweet and convincing I had to do it! My husband was really impressed with her selling tactic! The staff here are a lot nicer than the gals down at LF a couple stores down, better options, better price points and definitely friendlier staff! I hope this store gets renovated soon, they need to expand! read more

I definitely love Free People clothes! I've been buying their products for years. This store is really cute, located at two blocks from the beach, it's a great place to hit when you are hanging out with your girlfriends. The staff is nice and helpful enough but I do think they could be better. Anyway, this is one of my favorite stores aside from Splendid which is located just across the street. read more

I have been buying Free People clothing at Nordstrom and Macys for a number of years and their clothes are really cute. Very girlie, but kind of hippie and super comfy. They are not always cheap - a lot of items are close to $100 and up, but definitely worth it. This location is really cute, newer because downtown Manhattan Beach has seen quite a few businesses come and go during this recession. The sales people are very friendly, and they even have a nice little sale section. When I went, I had my 3 month old baby with me and he was sleeping in a sling that I was wearing, and the salesperson hooked me up with the biggest dressing room that had a nice couch with pillows, so I put him on a blanket to sleep while I tried clothes on, I was pumped! I'm sure other mommy shoppers would appreciate that luxury :) read more

I enjoy This location of Free People in Manhattan. Especially the store itself. The space is nice and the whole point of being next to the water makes it nice to join in when your walking out in the beach. As well to see the new dresses next to the rest. I am HORRIFIED by my treatment at this store. Absolutely horrified. My entire closet is basically Free People. My father ordered a dress for me online as a present and the dress was too big. It's still in it's original bag and packaging and of course all the tags are in tact. All I wanted to do was exchange the dress for something else, and I was told that I couldn't. They need the "original" receipt, but what are you suppose to do if you receive a gift? People don't always give you a gift receipt. So now I'm stuck with a 200.00 dress that I can't even wear. Not to mention, the employee that "helped" me was super rude and not accommodating at all. Everything I have boughten for my wardrobe in the last three years has been Free People. This experience makes me NEVER want to purchase these clothes again. read more

Cute shop that still maintains a local feel. Great selection with the sweetest workers inside! It's pet friendly too. I found several cute pieces in here and enjoyed exploring around the shop because it was different than other Free People stores I had been in before that felt so department-store like, you know what I mean? This had two small levels and a little back nook with other clothing options. Great experience! read more

This is my first review on Yelp, but I am fired up! The worst company I have ever dealt with. In short, I ordered boots. They sent to wrong city. Gave me the run around, and even after acknowledging their wrong doing and told me they would refund, they then told me I had to file a police report even though they delivered to wrong address. Again, got SUCH the runaround. I even said I would accept boots late. They said no. What a nice company to treat a loyal customer this way haha. My credit card company took care of everything in a snap and laughed at how I was treated by free People. read more

My favorite FP store. Smaller than others but I live nearby so it's convenient. If they don't have what you are looking for they always offer to find it at another store or online. Girls are always polite and greet me and my daughter. Always helpful when you have a question but without getting followed around the store pressured by the sales associate. Love it! read more

I came in here the other day with a friend after spending the day at the beach. We weren't greeted when we walked in and were in the store quite a bit and no one bothered to acknowledge us. The sales associates were gossiping- about other coworkers it seemed. I found some cute skirts to try on and when I found the dressing room, the SA (fair skinned, long blonde hair) told me to take any room and didn't even bother to help me with the items or curtain- the curtains are tied and the one for my room didn't cover the entire doorway. I've worked retail before and it's basic training that you assist the customer with their item and close the curtain for them. She just walked away. Not once did the SA bother to check in with me. When leaving the SA finally asked me what I thought and I told her I needed a different size. Her reply? "Oh I'm sorry we don't have your size," in a snooty, emotionless tone. How do you know? You didn't even bother to check! Ugh. I'm pretty easy going so what bothers me about this experience is that while I was in the store, another woman came in and they greeted her and actually provided her some type of service. If they had treated her the same, I wouldn't care. But since it's clear this SA didn't care about making a sale with me, I'll just buy the skirt online read more

I've shopped at a few different Free People stores for myself and my daughters and I've always had pleasant experiences at each location. This location is one of my favorite, however, due to the great selection of clothes and because of the location. The employees are always wonderful here as well. Vanessa was so helpful in finding the item I was looking for and better yet I called the next day to get a price adjustment on an item I bought the day before and it was done right over the phone, since I live far from that store.
