I was standing at the checkout line in the El Segundo Dick's Sporting Goods on December 23rd, 2025, doing my last minute Christmas shopping for the males in my family, when I had a moment. The last time I was in this Dick's was December 23rd, 2024, doing the same exact thing. I feel like what I'm supposed to say here is "I need to be better about Christmas shopping ahead of time," but I'm so tired of just saying what I am supposed to say. I'm going to start saying how I feel, no matter the backlash. Truth is, every time I finish the last-minute-panic-shopping, I come out extremely proud of what I've gotten. Customer service doesnt exist here. Jaslene was our cashier. The transaction experience was awful. My husband had a little sticker shock at the register for the 26 lb weight we were buying. He took a moment because he thought it was a little less online. When he asked "and that's the total with tax?". Normally you hear back a confirmation but instead she said no with tax it's $73.62. Mind you we were at the register to pay not for a price check. My husband was looking at his phone and she blurts out "you want it or not?". We told her yes but I had to explain to her he is just taking a moment to look up the price. Normally someone at the register gives the total price when purchasing not sub total. I walked away once my husband got the receipt and was already a good ways away from the register and she yells out "Good Bye!" In the most patronizing tone. It was the cherry on top for this review. We are all human and can do better but this right here is why online shopping and self check out is putting cashiers out of jobs. Maybe she should remember that the next time she wants to be unjustifiably rude and try to make people feel less than with "you want it or not?". So if you want your intentions to be buy something rudely questioned in front of other guests than this is the place and Jaslene is your go to. read more

Worse location ever..We went today (Sunday) and the black guy with the natural hair, 2 earrings and tatts on arms completely walked by my husband. Then threw the shoe box in my hand...like why are yall at work today?Sad part is we buy not look. Second, why did Jaslene come to work today?? Obviously cranking as he**. She directed us to her register by saying and pointing "there " then rings it up and I had to tell her about my rewards. No hello, how are you nothing. She then rung up the shoes threw the receipt in the shoe box not offering a bag after spending over 200.00. We asked for the bag and rather than put the shoes in said bag she gave us the bag to do it but, YOU are the cashier. Unbelievable. This was my first time in Dick's Sporting Goods today. I purchased a couple of Yeti Rambler drinking tumblers which came with straw caps. After calling Yeti, I found out that I could purchase a magnetic slider cap to fit the tumblers. Rather than order from Amazon, I saw that they were sold at Dick's and placed a pickup order. I was notified probably within an hour that my pickup order was ready. I headed over and brought one of the tumblers into the store to be sure it fit. I was told that if I opened the package that it couldn't be returned. I eyeballed it and it looked like the right size. I didn't see many customers in the store, but it was huge and had a lot of merchandise. I was considering looking at weighted vests, but service wasn't very friendly, so I left shortly after. read more

I don't know what it is, but driving to this particular DICK'S store location was ridiculously difficult using Google maps on an android. However, when I looked it up on my Apple device, I did not get lost. So, note to self, finding your way on an apple might be easier. This store was especially huge. I love that. They have some parking just outside. That was awesome. This store has a lot of merchandise. And I'm talking about a lot. They have a lot of the same products in all different colors and sizes. So seeing that level of ability is awesome. There are so many brands and so many different variations of things here. I have a feeling that you can almost always find any piece of equipment or physical support pretty much anything for any effort here. Now, I can't say that the price will be nice or what you hope or what you want, but I bet you they probably have whatever it is that you need. Unfortunately, when I was looking for help, I couldn't find any. So I kind of moved onto the next thing that I was looking for or interested in. When I moved on that's when I found help but didn't need it. I kind of feel like it's always like that but at the same time when you do see people who are able un willing to help you, but don't need it. It's kind of comforting to know that at least they're there. One thing that is kind of protecting to me is how somebody who works in a sporting good store and apparently has been for a little while now does not know their own stock. I understand if you don't know if there's something very specific available that somebody is asking for, but when something that is being asked for is rather generic and general, I don't get why you don't know whether or not your store carries that item. read more

Today I had the pleasure of going to Dick's El Segundo to purchase some items for the LA marathon. I went to the cashier and was attempting to sound out the young man's name. I pronounced it all wrong and he politely corrected me and said it's pronounced Malachi. We laughed because he stated I wasn't the only one that mis pronounced his name. Went in there yesterday to buy the Jackie Robinson Ucla shirt that just came out on Jackie Robinson Day and the shirts were not displayed infact they were in the Ucla section hidden in between some old UCLA shirts and to make matters worse his 42 Ucla Bruin jersey also came out yesterday and they was still behind the counter on the racks not even displayed smh talk about Disrespect. I recently came into the store with my teenage son to get football equipment. While the store was fully stocked, and price tags were evident, I was very taken aback by the service from the employees. So many employees were tucked away, gathered in corners having conversations, laughing, and not being attentive to customers such as myself. To be honest, I felt like I was interrupting them when I needed help, which is not very conducive to a shopping experience. While I do not expect someone to follow me around, it definitely would have been nice to have the employees walking around being present so that if people did need something, they would not feel awkward interrupting them and their chat chatting amongst each other. read more

When we got to Dick's in El Segundo, the person on the floor and manager knew nothing about the commercial. We just saw a half hour before on TV if you're going to have a commercial on TV Dick's should inform their staff or make arrangements to have the shoes on sale for $99. I needed to purchase a tent for my son and his friends yesterday and James helped me over the phone. He was the nicest guy and went over and above to make sure they had the tent we wanted because it wasn't initially showing up in stock. He went overboard trying to help me and he was so kind and so sweet. My son needed this tent yesterday and James was over the top giving us great customer service and he treated me like family. Went to purchase dodgers ws gear tonight and I was a couple min after they closed. All 6-8 employees were just standing around by the cash registers. A young lady said we will be opening up at 7. I acknowledged sad but understand. I was looking through the windows to see what they might have because I work in the morning A young mad with long curly hair came over to the doors and said what do I want we open at 7am. This was made very clear by the last employee and I ask if I was allowed to look in the window. He said come back tomorrow. Could not hear him clearly but just started yelling at me. This was my go to place for purchasing sports cloths but after this very unprofessional employee attitude. Good selection, friendly staff members, single dressing rooms that required a key. We asked a team member "what gives with the locked dressing room, are people going in there to nap?" She said that sometimes the clothes people try on (but don't buy) pile up. Okay, I guess that makes sense, but there was only one key holder in the entire store. When my husband and I are faced with an opportunity to go out without kids (thanks to grandparents), sometimes we come to Dick's Sporting Goods for fun. We enjoy working out together so we like to update our workout wear once in a while, or even just browse for some inspiration. The DSG brand of athletic wear is highly recommended. They are less expensive than the big brands but are just as great or better. In my very biased opinion, DSG is better quality than Nike, but I am partial to Under Armour so I hunt for discounts on those :) There is a great selection of kids wear as well, also available in the DSG brand. They have sizable various sports, outdoor, and shoes sections. Their bicycle section used to be bare during COVID but they had a full stock last time we were there. If you are anything like us, you will enjoy coming to Dick's Sporting Goods for fun too! read more

Nice looking store, good location, convenient to get to. It also has a good selection of mens clothing. This location is not Veteran friendly like the Torrance store is. If you are a Veteran, skip this store and go to Torrance, where you will get a Veterans discount on regular days. Not just on Veterans Day. I spent over $300.00 today and asked for a Veterans discount only to be told Dicks does not offer one, except for on Veterans Day. Most of us defended this country for more than ONE day. Well I simply called to ask if my sons Bike would be ready for Christmas, she said " No, you are number 30 in line", but she hadn't taken my name or order number and then when I said that, she started screaming at me and telling me I was being difficult. I literally only said "you never took my name or order number, how do you know I'm number -#30?? I asked so nicely to speak to a manager and then she hung up on me. I know people are swamped over the holidays, but it was truly insane behavior. I made a call to corporate as I didn't want to deal with the store any longer. I DO NOT recommend the people there. It was my first visit - ever, to Dick's Sporting Goods. I came to the store on the recommendation of a client. I was shopping for work shoes. The sales associate asked me what shoes I was looking for and I told her. She brought out the shoes and came back once to see if any of the shoes were a "No". She never came back again. I watched her assist another customer, she was very engaged and attentive with that customer. After she finished with that customer, she walked right past me, not uttering a word or any eye contact and proceeded to the back and remained there. I decided on the shoes I wanted and went elsewhere to purchase them. I would never spend any money let alone the $160 I paid, with a store that gave me such a low quality experience. I like that they have indoor batting cages to practice in. The one thing I did notice is I needed help in a couple departments and noticed the employees walk by me, standing their talking about their love lives and just not offering to help. No bueno. Other then that the store has the usual sporting goods selection but the layout is a little crowded and not too easy to find sections. I guess that compared to the big one at del amo mall. Maybe if I would have gotten help from the about 12 employees who walked by me or stood by me I would've given more stars. I also wish they would've placed the prices of the different basketball hoops because I probably would've bought one but as said there was no employees to help. read more

Today was my first time ever walking into a Dick's sporting and I got the worst customer services that a manager at a store can provide at the one Located at the Northridge mall. I went to the mall looking for a particular item from the Columbia brand, check a couple stores and I noticed online it said that Dick's sport goods may have it, I walked in from the side of the mall, was there for at least 20 mins looking for the item, they didn't have it, so I decided to leave, when I head toward the way I came in, I noticed that door toward the mall is close and I asked if they can let me out cause, I'm parked on the opposite side of the mall, they told me I have to speak to a manager cause they can't open it. I found a manager and told her that they close the door that heads toward the mall and I need to exist that way cause I'm park on the opposite side of the mall she answer me with "we close that door every day 2 hrs before the mall closes" I don't work here to know that, this is my first time I ever at this store and I'm park on the opposite side of the mall, You can't close that door on customers like with out a warning this bad customer service, "she answers everything is going to be ok go out this door" referring to a door behind that is at the opposite side of the door that lead to the mall, which is where I can in front. I told her, so You want me to go around the store to get back in the mall? Again DO you understand this is horrible customer service! I told her that least you can do is use the. P.A. system and let customers know you're closing the door so they can't leave before you close it and she reacted like there something extremely wrong with what I'm telling her, at then end she didn't move a finger I have to go out the the door that I didn't walk in, to make it worst I had to walk around the parking lot to go around the side of the mall, to walk all the back to the opposite side of freakin mall. I suffer from plantar fascia on both feet and instead of walking on straight like from one side of the mall to the other I had to go around the parking structure and l freaking mall structure to get to my car cause she couldn't have the courtesy, by the time I made it back to my car I was freaking limping cause the inflammation on both of my feet were killing me. I didn't tell her that I suffer from plantar fascia, cause I don't have to play a handicap card for her to do the right thing. This was a horrible customer service experience, and I will always share this negative experience with all my friends. read more

This Dicks is sad. How many times do i need to ask for help? Asked for help on some equipment selection, and didnt receive it as noone came to assist. I shrugged, and walked around and saw only 1 person putting stuff away. Asked for help, and he said someone will "be there in 5 minutes". I aw someone else and asked for help in bike section after about 15 minutes and dude said "oh yea, the bike guy is just... doing something...". So i said okay, ill give it a few more minutes. And after about another 15 nothing. Other than wanting to go home after work, i wasnt in much of a rush, but this was ridiculous. 1st time here too. read more

They are very disorganized. They scanned 2 pairs of shoe sizes for me and they said they were in stock. Then I ask the shoe employee for the shoe. Mind you he seemed to have liked the shoes i picked out and they were 50% off. When he went to look for my shoes he took approximately 10 mins just to come back and tell me they didn't have either size. So I then called the employee who scanned the shoe before him (the one who told me they had both shoe sizes in stock) And I asked. Didn't you say they had both sizes in stock? And his response with a smirk was "yeah but sometimes people steal the shoes" what threw me off guard was the smirk. As if they had been communicating with each other to not sell me the shoe. This place is horrible! I bought tennis strings and grips and left 2 racquets to be restrung and paid a total Of almost $100. I followed up on the string job service and manager said both racquets not done and gave an excuse the stringer did not show up for 2 days and said why don't I just take my racquets somewhere else. It was quite clear he would rather not take the revenue cause he was quite eager to give me a refund. . He mentioned it quite a few times too!!! Meaning if you want your racquets serviced in a timely manner take it somewhere else cause it will NOT happen here!!!! I came here for other purchases but given this situation looks like I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Hello This store first of all looks depressing, the lighting inside is very dimm. I almost walked out with wrong sizes for 3 pairs of Adidas pants. All the hangers said size xl and inside the actual size was medium and large.
