Extremely disappointed. I drove over an hour after work through traffic specifically to pick up a birthday gift for my wife, only to arrive and find the store closed for a private event. No notice anywhere online. Nothing on their website, nothing on Google, nothing on social media. Zero communication to customers who might be making a special trip. This is completely unacceptable. I went to the store to exchange a size. My daughter had purchased for Mother's Day, and the sales girl was terrible... so if you hate your job, find another one! She had somebody else bring me the size I needed didn't even asked me to have a seat or anything just stood there behind the cash register looking bored! I decided to keep the new size and she did the exchange and then I left even though I was in the market to look for another style... the prices were good no complaints. read more

Let's be honest here, I have never ever considered wearing Birkenstocks until 2 years ago. My mom's hippie friends used to wear them and as a kid I always thought they were funny-looking. Fast forward many, many years (not saying how old I am, haha) and I find myself with more than a couple styles of them in my closet. I got the clogs first and they were truly the most comfortable shoe I had ever worn. I bought that first pair online and the rest is history- CONVERTED. I now believe in the Birk Life *insert laughing and crying emoji*. Since comfy summer foot covering is necessary, I decided to mosey on over to the Venice location to see what was new and find my next pair/style. I have never been in a Birk store and all I can say is, "When can I move in?" This location is ADORABLE, they have a ginormous selection of styles, both men's and women's (way more for the women though) and I fell in love with about 8 pairs of shoes right away. They have new styles that are very trendy, and the cutest tennis shoes, who knew?!? So many different "in" slides, wedges, sandals, and of course the classic Birkenstock. I meeeeeean, the new gold buckles, the gorgeous nubuck and suede leather color selection... Slurrrrrp! To top it off, they have the coziest, cleanest, breeziest sitting area in between the retail store and the building they use to keep inventory (see picts), SO CUTE!! I'm a sucker for clean and cute, obvi. It's a place to chill while your friend/honey/family shops or a comfortable place to have a seat and try on shoes. My sales person was a tad pushy, which was buggin the heck out of me but I was in my own world, living my best life in the middle of a Birk store- FACT- Lol!! I ended up with a pair of tan suede beauties and I couldn't be happier. I LOVE THIS STORE. Side note: They cannot be reached by phone however, if you leave a message someone will call you back in an hour or so. The other option is email, not very efficient but I'm finding more and more stores going this route. read more

Amazing selection but the service staff couldn't be bothered. Asked to try on some Bostons but they only had the soft footbed in my size and particular color I was interested in. When I inquired about the shoe in the classic footbed I was told, "We make them we just don't have them in the store." That's it! No solution or recommendation on ordering from the website or checking one of the 2 stores in the LA area. That was it. I'm on my own. I checked the Birkenstock website and I can order them but now I am inclined to order from Norstrom, REI or Zappos since the stafff can't be bothered to keep the sale, at least within the company. The other retailers will be my first options in the future now because of this experience. read more

So, I had a really bad experience at this store. The staff just seemed to ignore me and didn't make me feel welcome at all. It was like I was invisible and they didn't want to help me. I explained that I'm deaf and needed to communicate through typing on my iPhone, but one of the staff members kept speaking to me instead. This led to a lot of miscommunication. On top of that, I paid for a pair of shoes but still haven't received them after 10 days. I called them and it took me two hours to get through because they had put the wrong address on the order. They should have followed up with me if there was an issue with the address, but they never did. It was such a waste of my time. read more

So I purchased some Birkenhead back in October for my work in a kitchen. The sole became undone and the shoes became unwearable. Frustrated, I go back to the store and am informed the alleged lifetime warranty (heard through rumor not the company unfortunately) did not apply any longer. The store manager and assistant manager helped me find a new pair and gave me a great price to help me get back to work. It's not often that customer service goes above and beyond to help the customer, especially in such a tourist rich area where the Karen population is booming. But this store exceeded my expectations and helped me reach a reasonable resolution to my dilemma. I've gone into this shop about 4 or 5 times. I've had the pleasure of dealing with Leslie several times and he is a fantastic person to have in the front. Friendly, very helpful, and the most patient. Great store! Been there and purchased several times...inventory was awesome and staff was helpful. Today before I drove the distance in traffic and scuffle to park, I needed to make sure they have a shoe in stock. I've been calling since they opened at 11:00am and it's near 3:30pm. Literally nobody has answered the phone! There's a lame voicemail stating they are helping the in-store customers and to leave a message or email. I've done both and nothing - no response either way. I leave town in a couple days, this was my window to do a pick up. This is just poor business practice. Sad to have experienced this with a place that has previously been worth the effort to get to. I like to support brick and mortar, and community, but online orders are absolutely necessary for antics like this. I suspect the staff just have an excuse not to answer the phone now. I get some companies are short handed, but not to pick up the phone all dang day is ridiculous! Do better please. UPDATE: Never got a person to pick up the phone Saturday 12/3/22, never received a call back from message left nor response via email. Next day called again approx 12:30 same nonsense...no answer! Ridiculous! I took the 45 min drive out, scrambled 30 mins for a park - such a hassle due to the increased limited street parking, even for a Sunday morning. Walked in and within 2 seconds was told they never got the boot and likely won't get it in because boots didn't sell well last year. Counted 5-6 employees all very pleasant and helpful. Just a couple of customers in the store. So available that 2 employees assisted me. I lingered and noticed the phone never rang once. Clearly the ringer is off or low. When I left at least 3 staff were standing around laughing, socializing, chatting it up with each other...neither gave a darn about the phones or potential customers via the phones. Disappointing. I won't waste my time in the future. Today, 4 Days later, Tues. 12/6/22. I received a return voicemail stating they don't have the boots and it's best to order on line...OMG REALLY!! With all the conveniences of technology, it took 4 Pony Express days to respond to a customer Re a super simple question.
