I'm giving a 5 star review because of the excellent service that I received today from Chad. I had ordered a pair of UGGS online and got a confirmation e-mail that said Frontrunners would let me know when my order was ready to pick up. (Note: these UGGS were sold out everywhere!). I ordered last night but did not get a ready-for-pick-up email. I was in Brentwood, so I thought I'd stop by just in case the order was ready. As it turns out, Frontrunner was not able to fulfill my order as they had very low inventory (no surprise for these boots). Chad, however, found the boots for me and I went happily on my way. I had such a wonderful, personalized sneaker shopping experience at Frontrunners. Honestly, I could even go as far as saying Frontrunners changed my life for the better. I've always wanted to get more into running, but I always found myself getting limited by some aching in my knees or back and not necessarily my cardio strength. When I learned Frontrunners does feet diagnostic tests and matches you with specific shoes based on your feet, I wanted to drop by. They had me stand on their monitor device, and in a minute, my store associate knew exactly which 3 pairs of running shoes were the best for my feet and guessed their ranking in comfort (color/aesthetic was not part of the consideration, which turns out was exactly what I needed to do). I was quite stunned when after trying each of the 3 pairs, the ranking of comfort was exactly what she predicted! I got the top choice she recommended, and it's been amazing for me to able to run multiple miles a week without issue, with the only change in my life being the running shoes matched to my feet. We were greeted with positivity and enthusiasm the second we walked through the door and then were promptly paired with Dave. Dave made this whole process so smooth and efficient, and he was so wonderful to work with! He first examined the slip my podiatrist gave me to see what issues we were working with, and then he had me stand on a machine which scanned my feet. Once the scan was finished, he informed me that my arches were quite low, so he had me try on a couple of different inserts for arch supports. After making sure I had proper arch supports, he helped to find me the shoe that would give me the most support for my plantar fasciitis and low arches. I was nervous going into the store thinking that I would just be upsold left and right, but I felt so incredibly informed the entire time and confident with my purchases. Laura is amazing!!! On two different visits in the past year she has helped me find the perfect shoes for my 10K, Half Marathon, and Marathon! She closely listens, asks questions, and has an incredible amount of knowledge when it comes to shoes, different types of feet, and various training needs for shoes, equipment, etc. Today I was there for over an hour trying on different shoes and she checked in on me every step of the way - I felt so comfortable and cared for, and I never felt rushed. The past 10 years, I've relied on my local New Balance store to custom fit my orthotics. I've been to multiple podiatrists and have had the most painful orthotics "custom made"...(I literally stopped at mile 10 of a half marathon to rip out the worst orthotics because they were hurting me more than helping). The ones I got from my New Balance store were the only ones that worked and didn't kill my feet Fast forward to a few weeks ago...I walked into my NB store and the custom fitting machine was GONE!! Talk about panic!! The kind associate referred me over to FrontRunners (which by the way, is a 45min drive!) saying that they have the same machine. So off I went! Adam was extremely helpful in sizing me for new orthotic inserts. I got measured on Wednesday and received them in the mail by Saturday. Before I left the store, he promised he would make sure they fit in the exact same shoe that I have, which I really appreciated! Very pleased with my experience and I HIGHLY recommend their customized inserts...they are firm, but have enough give to not kill your arches. read more

The low reviews weren't lying when they said the customer service here is horrendous. I came mid afternoon and waited 20 minutes to be helped. They did acknowledge my presence but I ended up being tossed SA to SA with no one to actually take care of me. The customers who ended up showing up after me were taken care of before me. Went to store for the first time yesterday - it was shockingly busy for a holiday and the store also didn't have a lot of styles in my size available - so the good was customer service and analyzing my feet- I learned some things about my feet that were invaluable. Unfortunately they allow dogs in the store - and I'm talking about large standard poodle and golden retriever type dogs. I'm highly allergic to dogs and ended having an allergic reaction while I was sitting there - and yes hypoallergenic dogs cause chaos to those who are truly allergic and I'm still dealing with the consequences of that encounter. The dogs were in the shoe fitting area and walking all along the shoes on display. I did end up with a new pair of shoes I'm happy with but ultimately will likely pass on this store in the future if they continue to allow dogs to roam free like a dog park in there. read more

Walked in needing walking/workout shoes and insoles; walked out without them. Sales person didn't seem particularly interested in explaining the shoes to me, or in getting me shoes to try on beyond the first two pairs, or in ensuring a good fit, even before another customer came in and took all of her attention away. I waited 15 minutes and called it quits. Seriously short staffed to the point I had to figure out how to validate my own parking. Now shopping for shoes and a new shoe store. This is a fantastic store to find a good fitting pair of sneakers. Extremely knoweledgeable staff with a machine that can properly measure your feet. They also have a great selection of quality insoles and can advise you which type will work best for your needs. Also - incredible selection of socks. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Paige was incredibly nice and informative. She had me stand on this white box which calibrates everything from the size of each foot, the width, where my balance placement was at. It was kind of creepy how accurate that machine was and it pulls up an entire diagram of your feet. She goes back and gets 3 boxes and I try each one on. They all fit perfectly but one pair just felt a little better than the rest. Tried them on and ran a little bit around in them and I knew these shoes were it. Easy and smooth! Incredibly disappointing. I purchased running shoes here, Asics at the recommendation of the salesperson, and after 30 days one of the shoes had a hole in the top near the pinky toe. When I returned to the store to show them I was told to contact Asics directly and that they would handle it. I reached out to Asics twice and never heard back, after about another 30 days the other shoe developed the same hole in the same place near the pinky toe on top. I returned again and was told it was too late for any refund or exchange. He offered to look at my feet again and make a different suggestion for a shoe, however I would need to pay full price for any new shoes that I bought. I won't be spending my money here again given they don't stand behind their products or recommendation. read more

The BEST shoe purchase experience I've had! Started with the convenient location and parking off San Vicente Blvd. in Brentwood, through product variety and availability, finally ease of purchase. Most of all, my outstanding shoe purchase experience was, in the end, the result of Chago, my purchase assistant and resource extraordinaire! THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS! I ventured to Front Runners while on a recent business trip to Los Angeles, in desperate need of new walking/jogging shoes. I am, at 64, in decent condition and move 20-25 miles a week. Hoka brand shoes were suggested to me by my daughter, a suggestion endorsed by Chago, who after a only a few moments interaction, I could tell knew his stuff! (Turns out he has worked at this location for over 2 years and knows product and availability like the back of his hand. His understanding, listening skills and knowledge in all things walking-jogging-running are ery impressive!) Now the good part. After a brief explanation of what I needed and a quick, high tech measurement of my feet, Chago returned with two style selections, and I was in and out of the store with complete satisfaction knowing these new shoes were the best my feet would ever encounter! (They are like walking on a cloud! I've never had a pair of shoes that compel me to walk; these do!) As a bonus, though this store is high-end, I never felt pressured with any upsale vibes. Chago is as authentic as they come and I felt like I got great value for what I bought (later confirmed with an online comparison search after the fact). This experience was so good, I returned 2 days later with my daughter, who purchased her own shoes and inserts from Chago, later confirming the experience was just as good if not better than I had promised. Multiple staff walked by without offering to help us find or try on shoes. We waited 20 minutes on a quiet Sunday trying to get help and finally left. It's always been really hard to find shoes for myself. I just moved back from DC the day before. I was stressed the F out and not only did the first two stores not have shoes that fit my wide feet. The people working were rude and made me feel like they just wanted me out of the store. I wasn't rude at all. I was working with them. Chago made this experience amazing. I walked out feeling like " wow I actually got shoes that feel good and I feel like there're good people in the world" There were only two people working. And it looked like there was a rush.
