Two stars because the meat itself had a good flavor. First, went in post rush, so when I ordered a two meat platter for me and two tacos for my friend, they began assembling it right away. However, the manager pulls the meat, plastic wrapped, out of a plastic refrigerator-looking thing and cut right through the plastic to slice off some meat. He did weigh out the portions, so that was good. The tacos were made from cold, street-taco size tortillas, a half slice of pasteurized processed cheese food, and a small pile of meat. No heating, no cooking, just cold (see the picture). My two meat platter of turkey and brisket came on a fakey aluminum tray with, as other people have suggested, stale mac and cheese with okra right out of the frozen Smart and Final Bag. Even the roll, which deceivingly looked like cornbread, was industrial and flavorless. The "big yellow cups" for soda are a ridiculous $2.75 each for a drink. We're impressed how soft the meat were.. we ordered pulled pork and brisket.. with fresh bread, creamy spinach and bbq baked beans.. fried onion and creamy spinach for my husband.. we got TWO free pulled pork with fresh bread and 2 waffle fries for the kiddos.. ALL free for our two kids to eat free every Sunday! Rarely, we find them eat on their own at the restaurant. Also, we had a free soft serve ice cream each on the way out.. What a deal!! We picked up take out and while the food was decent they are not following safety protocols at all. Not one employee was masked nor were they asking customers to mask while ordering or moving around the restaurant. I have to wonder if they are unwilling to implement the most basic and easy measure by requiring employees to wear a mask what other sanitary practices are being ignored that we cannot see. I waited in line for 20 minutes and to be fair I would've waited even longer but the entire time I watched their employees not wear masks, half wear a mask and another continue to scratch his face with gloves on while fixing food. Pima county is under a county wide 'mandatory mask' health code restriction due to the current coronavirus stuff. So wasn't I completely surprised when I walked into a RESTAURANT and noticed that ZERO of the employees who were preparing food, and working with customers, were wearing masks. Now if you are a civilian and don't want to wear a mask, ok, but a restaurant blatantly not following health code is an issue. I ordered a brisket sandwich for $10 and a side of coleslaw for four dollars so for $14 I got a tiny sandwich with probably 2 to 3 ounces of meat on it dry, the coleslaw was about three spoonfuls. We went up and talked to the gentleman and said to him "hey is this right? these were pretty small for $14." Also said "you should be careful about your pricing, people are going to hit you on YELP." Tried Dicky's curb side service for the first time so that we wouldn't have to go to the grocery store. We ordered 2 slabs of ribs via the app and the process went smoothly. The ribs were very meaty and were fall-off-the-bone tender. Great flavor and with the additional sauce they provided we were quite happy. The waitress for the curb side service wasn't just nice, she expressed gratitude for our business.
