I give my meal an 8 out of 10. Pretty darn good for AZ - I've done worse in New Orleans! The two meat platter with ribs and brisket brought a smile to my better half's face. She gave the ribs a 10 and the brisket a respectable 8. Portions were huge and most of the brisket came home. Sweet potato fries were very good, extremely hot and fresh. The cheesesteak chicken sandwich was also rated a 10. Our fourth diner ordered the chicken salad, which was a huge salad based on a bed of romaine with lots of chicken, black beans, crispy onions, avocado, corn, and other stuff. Also rated a 10! And enough left for lunch tomorrow! Our server Alyssa was great. And the chef, Jesus, came out to see how everything was. Kudos to him and the restaurant. We are not locals, but my father in law is. It's disappointing because as a guy who's been to the original Anchor Bar back when I lived there, it could be so much better. These two times we left aren't our first issues with the service; it's been somewhat dicey every time. I do not like leaving low star reviews. I really hope the service team gets its act together.
