I purchased my Mazda 3 back in February. I took it elsewhere for its first oil change, well the technician told me that they could not do an oil change because my vehicle was missing the oil pan and the bolt they needed to remove couldn't be removed because it had been "rounded off"... I waited over an hour for them to come and tell me this... so I drive to the dealership and walk into the service area and was greeted by Justin. I was upset because a simple oil change was turning into something complicated and annoying. So I explain the situation to Justin and he takes the time to break it down to me to explain that oil pan was cosmetic and could have been removed by the previous owner and the bolt was fine and they could go the oil change for me. So since I was already here I agreed to have my car serviced here. He said he would rotate my tires and just do a full inspection or something of that nature. He came back a few minutes later and told me they would not charge me for my oil change. I was totally taken aback. He could see my frustration and just handled the situation. I was originally going to come on here and update that for the third time I got a rental car from Mazda, and they sent my car to a body shop (I have yet to see if the fix actually will work, it always happens on my way home), but I feel I the need to add more due to the reply from Mazda on here. I am not going to get into an internet war or words, but I feel your reply comes across a little snide with the comment about individuals working with a business rather than resorting to Yelp and other such sites. I did try to work straight with you guys, 3 different times before my issues was resolve. I did not know about those two numbers you posted, instead I had to deal with being told "Bought as is", "We cover 50 % labor, 25% parts", "It is fixed now", and sloppy work to done for a quick fix, and other such barriers before I even, maybe, got some kind of results. I was pushed into doing this, I have never used Yelp before, but felt people should know what I went through. I would want to know too. Like I said, I wont be sure my bumper is fixed until tomorrow afternoon and honestly i am expecting it to not be from past experiences. My bumper isn't even properly aligned still with a slight gap between the light and the bumper. We shall see. I would suggest that if I was in your shoes I wouldn't tell people you hope for a day a person and a business can work without 3rd party reviews because it sounds likes you don't want to be help accountable to the public. I have no patience for car salesmen playing games. I've walked away more than once. I come in knowing the KBB fair trade-in, the Edmunds good deal amount, the factory invoice, and the interest rate I want. I'd built the car online, and gone to a site to figure the payments. If the numbers weren't right, l know it. That makes the negotiations a lot less stressful. Ramon is friendly, helpful, and ready to make a good deal. He found the car I wanted at a different dealership and went to get it, and walked me through the process to a good deal. The manager was good at getting the interest rate, although I provided encouragement. They both listened to what I was saying, and didn't try to sell me something else Nobody mentioned MSRP at any time. I had to wait to talk to the guys I wanted, and to get the car I wanted, but I didn't feel like they were trying to take advantage. I got the Mazda 3 S Grand Touring with tech package. It is exactly the car I wanted. I'd recommend this car to anyone. It's highly rated, especially for safety, fuel economy, and being fun to drive.It has a boatload of gadgets and gizmos (which I love). It also looks like a much more expensive car. I have friends who own one and love it. I'd also recommend Ramon to anyone who wants to buy a Mazda. The car, the salesman, and the manager were recommended to me, and I'll pay that forward! I hope this saves you from dealing with a slimy car salesman somewhere else. They take all the fun out of buying a new car, and this car was meant to be fun. read more

We went to the Lancaster Madza dealership in November to test drive and purchase CX-5. the salesman started off by telling us he didn't really no anything about Mazda's. I thought he was joking but he was serious. He started by having us test drive the signature-top of the line model. Of course I liked that one but didn't want to spend that much. Next he took us to the bottom of the line and wanted to write up the deal. He didn't know enough to give other options. We said we would come back later in the day. I however went home and did some on line research. Called Glendale and Santa Clarita and was given better prices and info about other models. The salesman at Santa Clarita was and is fantastic , "Jessie Ruiz". He gave me a price, went down to test drive the Grand touring model. Hes like a walking encyclopedia regarding the Madzas. He has called to make sure I'm happy with the car and encouraged me call him if I need assistance with anything. He traded and got me the color interior and exterior grand touring model with extras I wanted with a great discount and lifetime power train warranty. I was really disappointed that I couldn't get a car here where I live and support the local economy but it was definitely worth the trip to Santa Clarita. Was sent a mailing asking me to come in and get an appraisal on my Mazda 3 and get a $25 gift card. So I do it and the sales guy takes the mailer to some office and I wait for a bit, 5-10 minutes, and he comes back to say they aren't running the program anymore. Why did it take that long? Isn't that like an instant answer sort of thing? Or did they look up my car and decide it doesn't fit there target for trade in? Maybe, maybe not but sure seems fishy. Too bad because I really like my 2014 Mazda3 and at some point will upgrade. Good thing theee are quite a few other Mazda dealers UPDATE based on response: Okay, the Deal ending would be a reasonable reason although what stood out on the flier was "While supplies last". This still does not explain the way the guy on the showroom floor acted. That's an instant answer kind of thing, not make him wait. Then not give me a reason, just say no. What's up with that? Three weeks ago I bought a Mazda 6 at AV Mazda through Leonard Egstrom. To my amazement this is the best car I've ever owned and this is why. This past weekend my girlfriend and I decided to visit her sister in Arizona who lives 430 miles away. I was shocked when I traveled the whole distance on one tank of gas. I had it on cruise control and averaged as high as 64.6 miles per gallon. I couldn't believe that I made it all the way there without refueling once. It was awesome. Alvin was the most unprofessional car salesman I have ever tried to work with. I received an instant cash offer through Kelley blue book for my car so I took it to the dealer to try to sell. Alvin had asked to see the instant cash offer so i pulled up the info up on my phone and he said "uhhh most people print it out, never mind ill just have to look it up." It seemed like everything was an inconvenience to him. He interrupted me 3 times when I was trying to ask a question or gain clarity. I finally had to ask him to stop interrupting me. They "reran" my instant cash offer and it came back about $1200 short. When we had asked to see what details they had put in to come back so low he said "i dont know, my manager did it" then we asked to speak to his managed and he said "he is not in his office". He then asked us to go outside, and pretty much shook our hand and sent us on our way. Didn't try to make a deal, or work with us. BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME. Alvin is a joke. read more

Was met by a staff that made sure I was comfortable with everything I was looking at and didn't waste my time. I went in for an appraisal on my 2007 tundra and was set up with appointment with a Franky Alvarez at AV Mazda. When I went in they told me he was not even working that day. They sent me over to Aron in sales at av Ford along with Nate the used sales manager. They looked at my vehicle and after I said to them that I was not interested in buying a vehicle but just getting my old one appraised they changed their attitude with me to indifferent and uncaring. They told me they would send me a response in mail but never did, after many attempts to just get a quote appraisal from them and from "franky" I was given the runaround. Long story short I took my truck to carmax and was in and out with cash in hand in 30 mins.. I can't stand old school shady dealers that only treat you nice if you buy from them. We had a great experience buying our Mazda5 last week. I had seen the car on CarFax a few weeks ago and contacted them. Carol OConnor was my contact person. She let me know when the price dropped-both times! When we were ready, she did all the paperwork by phone so we knew ahead of time that we had approval as it was a 2 hour drive up there. I'm so glad Carol was the one texting me, she did a great job staying in touch. Chad Davis was our salesperson, such a nice young man. No pressure at all, gave us all the information we needed to make our decision and let us a take a long test drive to be sure this was going to be the car for us! He also made sure the car was detailed and sparkling clean when we were ready to drive it home. Grant Tomlinson helped us with all the paperwork for the financing and explained everything very clearly. He also helped us get a AAA discount on some of the add on's and that got our payment where we wanted it. We hadn't had a car payment in 15 years, so we were very hesitant to commit. I was very disappointed in the service I received at this dealership. My son purchased his first vehicle and we felt that we had received a fair deal until we were ushered off to the bowels of the Finance department. We met Grant in his office and he proceeded to slide the purchase contract to us with no explanation on his part of what my son was signing. Grant became very rude and condescending when I questioned the 18.64% percentage interest rate that was placed in the contract (my son has a 780 credit score). We also negotiated with the salesman a premium warranty, Grant checked the box for the cheapest warranty. When we explained to him that the contract had the incorrect warranty checked off, he became very defensive and challenged my understanding of the warranty contract. Once he realized that it was in deed an error he became irritated and blamed the salesman for the oversight. Grant made no apologies, he remained very impatient and patronizing, as if we were taking up too much of his time. It saddens me that my son had to witness his mother being disrespected and his first car purchase overshadowed by a dishonest dealership! I truly believe the errors in the contract were not a mistake. They were put there to deceive my son and to pad the pockets of the dealership. Thank goodness I was there to help him! read more

I will never do business with Antelope Valley Mazda again. I signed up for their maintenance program, each time I went in I had an issue. They rotated my tires and forgot to torque the lug nuts causing my wheel to come loose over a couple of months time. It cost me $100 to fix it and I was lucky that it wasn't more. They also cost me entire day's pay because they forgot to put the key to my locking lug nuts in my car and when I got a flat tire I couldn't take my tire off. It took me half the day trying to call them with no answer before I went in to see them in person. Their answer was, we have two keys maybe one will fit your lug nuts, if not you will have to have them cut off and new ones put on. In other words it would cost me money. Fortunately one of the lug nuts fit, but it took me the rest of day, of going back and forth to get the tire fixed. When my car overheated I took that into them and they told me that I needed a new engine for $9,000. When towing it to my mechanic to get a second opinion and finding out finding out it was a broken head gasket, which is extremely unlikely, unless it's a manufacturer's defect, on a three and a half year old 60 thousand mile car. It took need 2 months of calling them over and over, not having anybody return my calls, to try and get information on how to fix the problem. Finally, after being referred to the regional part of the company and having to call them over and over, with no return phone calls to me, I found out they were giving me no financial assistance and not willing to work with me to fix this issue. read more

Took my car in last year for some preventive maintenance and the check engine light was on. I had to go back 7 times, spoke to a manager and all she did was give me a rental. I spent about $2000 they could have offered me some money back. Just went for an oil change at another place and they said I had a transmission leak, or they did not clean it off all the way when redoing it, called mazda the guy who answered said my work was not under warrenty and I would have to pay. read more

1.) I wrote a review of the salesman Oscar Cruz and he is NOT the issue here. Just fyi. I bought a used Honda about 2 weeks ago with a trade in and they were going to take the rest of the payments out weekly. So, I call the bank I was "financed" through on my CONTRACT and they have never heard of me. After that, I called 3x to AV Ford /Mazda to finance LaShawn, Frankie and Manager Gio/Bob. They say that my loan is funded....well they cannot provide a loan id number...nothing that shows I am financed with the bank noted on my CONTRACT. Note: Day after purchase, I added my car as full coverage to my insurance. The insurance required a copy of the CONTRACT so they know who to send the payment to in the event of an accident. It says Santander Finance USA..so cool the payment would go to them...and any payment I will make to pay down car note...you would think..... These are my phone calls on 11/24/2015 after the bank says on the 14th day they do NOT have me financed and have no record of me either by my social and/or name.... Call #1 to Tim : Tim said I was not financed by who is on my CONTRACT. I am financed by AV Ford...I did not know they offered financing......so after 14 days and my insurance thinks my lienholder is Santander........all I want is a contract or a written anything saying AV Ford is financing my loan. Tim says he cannot give me anything saying that. He says "send your payment to whomever is sending you a bill". I hang up frustrated, trying not to be rude. Call #2 to Tim : I ask Tim what is the deal....either I bring the car back or he can tell me who is financing the loan so I can have something in writing. He asks to me "Why would you call the bank on your contract....??" I answer......"because I have the right to know.....right as the consumer? I tell Tim I spoke to an attorney (my best friend is a consumer law attorney out of Las Vegas) and she is telling me this all does not sound legal/legitimate......because it raises a few red flags a.) who will it say on my registration as the lienholder? Am I on the registration? Shouldn't I have received plates and registration by now to remove paper plates?? b.) who will my insurance pay if I was to get into an accident , hypothetically speaking..... Anyways, I tell Tim who is now getting very demeaning to me....I am going to write a Yelp review and go on BBB if he cant just tell me what is going on after almost a month of having the vehicle....he says "GO AHEAD!" He starts being VERY demeaning about my credit. He starts treating me inferior. He does not know I used to have a 789 score and financed and paid off 6 vehicles...which i bought all from Galpin Ford (much better customer service by the way, and less demeaning managers). Only recently has my score suffered from a layoff from the construction industry and a hospital stay from a sickness without insurance. He doesn't have to treat me as below him. All i am asking for is proof of financing, if not....then take the car back and give me my trade back to make it easy on them. I don't mind paying the salesman a commission because this is not his issue, or even a restocking fee. I don't know what to do because now Tim says I am not financed and it could take 2 months to two YEARS to get financed. I have never heard of that. Tim told me in attitude way after I told him I was going to send my payments to the bank on my CONTRACT......that they were affiliated with Santander Finance USA....I called to verify that and the funding department told me "No we are not affiliated with AV Ford other then loaning money to consumers for a vehicle...we do not take payments for AV Ford and if you send us a payment we are going to send it back to you , because you do not have a loan with us." I told Tim this and he said "Goood you must be happy then that they will return the payments" No, ACTUALLY I am not happy, the point of the car was to raise my credit and AV Ford does not report to credit and does not to "in house financing " because if that were true I would be able to get a paper saying that I will pay to them....etc and it will be reported to the credit bureaus. But, Tim said he cannot provide me anything, neither for myself or insurance. So I continue to drive a car that has no funding after 2.5 weeks.....and my insurance will send the payment if I get into an accident to Santander Funding USA. Because that is what is on my CONTRACT.......and Santander will continue to not know who I am...all I am asking for is the truth Av Ford/Mazda.....you did not have to make it this difficult. I am asking who is funding my loan because your finance guys says it was already funded but the manager says it has no financing. Either give me honest answers , or take the car back, because I am driving nobody's car right now and the down payments coming out of my debit card are stopped until someone can give me answers and stop lying to me. So I have bad credit for the moment......does that mean I am not human too? read more

Updated review: So, as you can see below, I had originally given them a 5 star review based on the process. Unfortunately, a few days after the deal was made I got a call from Alvin (salesman). He tells me that they were able to lower my payment and needed me to come in to do the paperwork again. I found it fishy since we have outstanding credit and this had never happened to me before... So I called back and asked for a more thorough explanation. After a couple of phone calls, I get a call from Tim (I believe that was the finance managers name) stating that Alvin was incorrect and they forgot to itemize the navigation system so we have to redo the paperwork. I asked the finance manager straight out "Is this going to raise my payment, because I am not going to pay more." He reassured me that the payment would not go up. We had to waste time and gas to go back to fix their mistake. During the signing process, I asked Mishawn or Lashawn (Finance rep) if my payment would stay the same, again I was reassured it would be exactly the same. Only to find out now that our payment went up $6 a month. Yeah, 6 bucks is not a huge deal, but it's the fact that their team in incompetent and lies to their customers. I am very disappointed and will never be purchasing or leasing a car from this Mazda dealer again. Mazdas are great cars and I recommend the brand, but go to another location. read more

We bought a new Mazda 3 a few years ago from AV Mazda. We've brought it in for regular maintenance service (oil changes, tire inspections due to sensors, etc) Always satisfied and they would do a complimentary car wash as a bonus. The last time I brought it in they said they didn't do car washes anymore because of the drought in California. ok, no big deal. However, on yesterday's visit my wife brought it in because she was planning on a trip that would mostly be freeway driving. She simply wanted an oil change but they recommended a new air filter as well so she agreed. Well, the mechanic apparently "discovered" that one of her tires had a nail in it and said it was too close to the outside wall of the tire and he didn't recommend patching it ( it wasn't leaking air by the way) He not only said that but recommended to my wife, along with the service manager, that she buy two new tires so that they would wear evenly. Luckily they didn't have them in stock and my wife called me to ask what she should do. I told her to come home (like I said, there was no air leaking in her tire). When she got home we drove up to America's Tire Co. to get a second opinion. Sure enough, there was no nail puncturing her tire, just a small screw imbedded in the tread of the tire and a small piece of wood also imbedded in another tire's tread. Nothing threatening the integrity of the tire certainly and the tread of the tire was well within safe parameters that it wasn't nearly time to change them. America's Tire service manager was mystified by AV Mazda's recommendation. Not only did America's Tire thoroughly inspect all of her tires but they also cleaned the outside of the tires...all at zero cost! Trying to take advantage of a woman at AV Mazda and sell her two new tires at $169 each for no reason at all is to me at the very least incompetent mechanic evaluations and at most fraudulent. Are they that desperate for service sales that they'll manipulate their customers into thinking they need parts or services that really aren't necessary? They put a panic into my wife that she was unsafe if she didn't get these new tires! Once again, we purchased this vehicle at AV Mazda and have always had service done there as well. This is the last time we will have anything to do with them. The owner of AV Mazda should seriously look and re-evaluate his customer service practices. It's not the "sales" that determine the success of a company...it's the "service". Once a community can't trust a business to do the right thing and treat its customers with respectful and honest service, then the buying public finds alternative companies to do business with. I hope this gets back to the right people to make sure others aren't duped by tactics that scare people into paying for un-needed repairs. read more

I told her my budget and she said they can make it work and said the manager would be calling me. Never did. She ended up calling me back saying he was too busy to call but she got the price. I asked her 3 times if that was the OTD price for THAT car and she said yes! I drove over an hour to get there (which she knew) only to be greeted by a young kid.. First week on the job that knew absolutely nothing about any vehicle on their lot. I come to find the video she sent was "accidentally" for a Mazda6 not a 3 and the price she quoted me was for a grey Mazda3?!?!? Who does that? She lied and manipulated me just to get me out there knowing it was an hour away. Spoke to the manager and all he can say was "sorry, it happens all the time here." Very bad business practice.. These guys pulled some shady shit while I was working with them to buy a new CX-5 (ended up buying from Santa Monica Mazda, who I recommend highly). They had a few leftover "new" 2015 CX-5s on the website at a deep discount that were interesting to me, so I spent a few days back and forth trying to figure out if they were for real. I was assured over the phone that these were brand new cars and then asked for a full pricing breakdown for the out-the-door price. They sent me a purchase agreement for one of the cars which showed that it had 10,000+ miles on it. Not a new car! Plus the purchase agreement had a 9% loan stuck in there even though I had asked for the cash price - then when I asked about the loan, I was assured this was standard because you can't leave that section of the agreement blank, or some shit like that. At best, this shows a lack of attention to detail on their part, at worst, it shows them trying to pull a fast one on me in multiple ways. These are things you need to explain to a customer upfront; I shouldn't have to find them out on my own. Honest feedback to AV Mazda: your pricing is competitive, just be straightforward about what you're selling, don't send a potential cash-paying customer a draft purchase agreement populated with a BS 9% loan (don't send them the agreement at all until you're 100% sure it's correct), and don't wait until your customer notices something is off to then explain it to them. read more

Please note that his review is for Oscar Cruz (sales rep), not AV Mazda as a whole. I would give 4.5 stars if that was possible. I went to AV Mazda knowing what vehicle I wanted. There was no need to convince me of anything. Oscar was not at all pushy and understood that the first day I met him was not the day I was going to buy a car. I came back when I was ready and Oscar was more than helpful in getting me set up and ready to go. For the most part, the process was smooth and painless. The one BIG complaint that I have with AV Mazda and it's manager (Alvin) is that my credit was run without my permission! Alvin assured me that my credit was not going to be run (because I was financing through an outside bank). In the end, I was told that my credit was run - without my authorization or knowledge. I was not a happy camper. Back to Oscar... Oscar understood my frustration and did everything he could to make it right. Oscar went out of his way to make sure that I was a satisfied customer. ok so my issue is with av mazda. i bought a 2012 nissa cube from them. biggest mistake of my life. the windshield is so bad i cant even see to drive in the morning or in the evening also the back door gets stuck they told me the part was ordered and would call when it came in, im still waiting. the back windshield wiper is broken as and the windshield leaks so much water into the car all over the dash as well as the back leaking so bad. i cant even wash it. also found that there was no jack for my car and now the transmission went out i am paying for a car that i cant even drive so not fair. all they are, are greedy sales people who will say and do anything to get you to buy a car. i call and call and get voicemail boxes and they dont care cuz they got their money from me. real nice i think they should be shut down. horrible horrible place. thanks av mazda for ripping me off!!!!! read more
