I brought my 23 Forte in because there's a chemical smell coming out of the AC (I'm only at 37,000 miles so this should definitely be covered under warranty) and the end of three days it hasn't even gotten a diagnostic for them to determine whether or not it's under warranty. If you're in the market for a new vehicle I cannot recommend anywhere else like I would Palmdale Kia. We drove three hours away yesterday just to do business with them (with our four kids in tow) and these guys are truly the best. We had spoken initially with salesman Luis and the sales manager Jason before arriving to get our options squared away. (Jason went above and beyond getting us the best and fair deal while making sure we had everything we wanted in our vehicle.) Our second salesman Isaiah took care of us once we arrived and did a phenomenal job in getting our paperwork done efficiently and then showing us every single detail and feature on our brand new carnival! He helped us transfer and clean everything out of our last van and the help was very much appreciated. Brian (the finance manager) had us in and out of the finance office very quickly so we could get back on the road home. These were the main guys we worked with but you could really tell it was a team effort at the dealership. We encountered several other members of the sales staff who engaged in conversation, offered us drinks, showed us around and truly made us as a family feel comfortable and welcome. There was no sleazy vibes that we've encountered in the past with other dealers, no pressuring into getting or adding something we didn't want or being taken advantage of. Extremely Disappointed - Beware of Kia's Warranty Promises This has been, by far, the worst experience I've ever had with a vehicle manufacturer and dealership. While my service advisor at Trust Kia of Palmdale was polite and professional, they were ultimately unable to help me, through no fault of their own, because of how Kia handles its warranty claims. Let me be clear, Kia's warranties are essentially worthless. Whether you have a basic warranty, a 100,000-mile warranty, or even the so-called "lifetime" warranty, Kia will find a way to deny coverage. As many people are aware, Kia lost a class-action lawsuit due to their engines being prone to failure, including blowing, seizing, or even catching fire. As part of that settlement, they extended engine warranties on many affected vehicles up to 999,999 miles, effectively a lifetime warranty. My 2016 Kia Optima was one of the models covered under this settlement. At just over 102,000 miles, the engine failed due to the exact issues listed in the lawsuit. I called ahead to Trust Kia of Palmdale and explained the situation, fully expecting coverage based on prior confirmations from other dealers. I was told that a diagnostic was required to confirm the issue, and if the problem was covered under warranty, I would not be charged the nearly $300 diagnostic fee. Confident in the outcome based off what the dealership told me was covered, I brought my car in. Sure enough, the diagnosis confirmed it was the same rod bearing failure covered under the warranty. However, after more than a month of my vehicle sitting at the dealership, (during which I had to miss hours at work due to not having a car) I was told my warranty claim was denied. Why? Because Kia decided the maintenance records I provided weren't "sufficient." This is despite my submission of: A Carfax report showing routine maintenance at Kia dealerships Documentation for the three most recent oil changes, including one done just two weeks before the engine failure Still, Kia refused to honor their warranty. To add insult to injury, the dealership is now demanding I pay the diagnostic fee in order to get my car back! I've owned around eight vehicles from various manufacturers and never encountered anything like this. Kia will do everything possible to avoid honoring their warranties, no matter how legitimate the claim or how well you've maintained your car. I will never buy a Kia again, and I strongly urge others not to buy one. If you're considering one, take the time to read reviews on platforms like Consumer Affairs, where Kia has an abysmal 1.1-star rating from over a thousand customers. These aren't isolated cases, they're a pattern. Kia's warranty isn't peace of mind, it's a trap. And their diagnostic process? It's just another way to charge you, even when the issue is clearly known and supposedly covered. In my opinion it's a scam. We had the best car buying experience at Trust Palmdale Kia! We were in the market for a used Honda Odyssey and had been searching for months for the right one. I was online and found a new arrival listed on the Trust Palmdale Kia website with no pictures or details other than year and mileage and decided to try and call to inquire. I was lucky to get Deondre on the phone as my sales rep. He told me the vehicle was so new and was just traded in that I was the first person to inquire about it. We had previously tried purchasing a couple other Honda Odyssey's from other dealerships and they kept selling them within minutes/hours of us finalizing the purchase so we were discouraged and nervous this one would sell as well, especially because we live out of state (Arizona).
