This place is a 3.5 really, with lots of potential. It's located inside the Tysons mall so there will be your usual issues or non-issues with getting a parking spot! We came for a date night and sat in a really pretty booth. The inside is very well decorated and it has a very cozy but upscale vibe. I enjoyed the masala tacos and the potato starter. We decided to get all small plates. I would definitely say that the naan bread is a skip. Nothing special and not up to usual standards of Indian cuisine in my opinion. The service was a little off. The server, only interested in addressing and speaking to my husband. When I was the one who picked up the tab he seed uncomfortable with this. It was a really quiet Wednesday evening, but I imagine when there is a buffet on the place livens up a bit. This is the only bottomless Indian food I've seen or had, and it did not disappoint. My friends and I came on a Sunday at 1pm. We made a reservation before. Unfortunately, we couldn't get seated outside - it was packed. But they gave us a table inside immediately which was quieter. The service was amazing!! We never had to wait to order food and all the staff was extremely friendly. We had about 4 different people come and check in on us and ask what we thought about the food. We basically ordered everything on the menu, so instead of going through everything I'll give some highlights: - the best dishes for me were all the versions of chai, Nutella pakora, chaat, spinach and artichoke fritters, aloo bravas, and mango parfait. - the ones we didn't like were the butter chicken (it tasted a little too tomato-ey) and malai chicken tikka (could have been spicier) - we ended up ordering the halva trio last for dessert, and it was also one of our favorite but we were so full that we couldn't finish it! All the portions are pretty small, but if you have a big group you can request "family size" for anything on the menu. I would recommend doing this because we were able to try everything and then order seconds on what we wanted more of. You also unfortunately can't take boxes home. Overall, I think this is a really cool concept and the food was great. My total came out to about $50 for everything, and for the amount of food we ordered it was extremely worth it! I came here for the $38 unlimited brunch on Saturday. It was so good and I loved how this was a different kind of style where it was they bring the plates to you and not a typical Indian buffet where you have to go and grab the food from an open bar type of situation. It was really nice that they literally brought out things to you immediately and I've never been to a buffet where they had unlimited mango lassis! Literally, I think me and my friends had five of these each, and they were so nice about it! The favorite things that I tried where the wings and the Nutella bread pakora. The rest of the dishes are good but nothing special. The drinks both alcoholic and non are really good. I really loved the coffee and masala lemonade. Only other thing is that the music is loud so it's really hard to have conversation but for the money and area, the price is reasonable and would go for an event. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt the need to share my experience at DhOOM after trying their bottomless brunch -- and it was deeply underwhelming. While the place has a nice vibe and the service was friendly, the food was the complete opposite of what you'd expect from an Indian restaurant. It was bland, lacked any real flavor, and felt like it was made for people who've never actually had Indian cuisine before. Honestly, I've had frozen Indian meals from the grocery store that tasted better. Most of the dishes tasted like they were reheated leftovers, not made fresh. The spice, aroma, and richness you'd normally associate with Indian food were completely missing. Even simple items that are usually hard to mess up -- like chaat or curries -- were dull and lifeless. The mango lassi was thin and watery, like someone just added water to mango juice and called it a day. The only thing we could tolerate was the butter paneer -- and even that was just "okay." We left most of the food and drinks untouched after just a few bites and sips. It was honestly disappointing to pay for a bottomless brunch where you don't even want to go for seconds. We did bring up the issue with the staff and manager, but all we got was a quick "Thanks for the feedback." No effort to understand or address the concerns. For more than $100, this meal was a total waste. If you're looking for real Indian flavors, skip DhOOM. There are far better options out there. read more

We were excited to see a new restaurant in the spot of one of our old favorites, American Tandoor.  We were finally able to try Dhoom one evening.  The restaurant has both plenty of indoor seating and a nice outdoor patio.  The menu is pretty big and we focused on the small plates so we could try several.  There were several that we liked, including the masala brussels sprouts, the aam chaat papr and the chicken tika tacos.  We were a little disappointed in the flight of chutneys, which were much more like loose sauces than we had expected.  The other disappointments were the drinks which, though the descriptions sounded very good, did not have a lot of flavor.  As an entrée, the lamb rogan josh was tasty and a generous portion.  The dessert of Nutella pakora was a good option and came with ice cream.  The service was very pleasant and helpful and the parking, being that it is at Tysons, is easy. read more

My friend and I had heard about this new restaurant online and from other people so we were dying to check it out. We made a reservation but they had a lot of open seating so I think we would have been okay without a reservation. The hostess was very polite and got me seated right away. We did the $38 unlimited brunch option which was amazing. You can order 2 dishes at a time (per person). We got to try a variety of dishes and everything was so tasty and flavorful! My favorite was the spinach and artichoke fritters. The only complaint I would have is that the waiters got the orders mixed up and twice tried to give us dishes we did not order. We also asked for more rice with the butter chicken and they gave it to us no problem. The decorations and ambiance at Dhoom is beautiful. The owner came and chatted with our table and made us feel very comfortable. The menu is mostly family style so we got to try a bunch of things. Great new trendy spot in Tyson's. They have a creative approach to "tapas-style" applied to Indian appetizers and dishes. Fun and tasty cocktails inspired by Hindi movie titles were an enjoyable touch. We enjoyed all the dishes we tried, including the eggplant dip and mango chaat small plates and the halwa trio appetizer. Decent service for a brand new place. We got aloo bravas that were over done, tandoori chicken wings and tikka chicken flatbread were not that good either. Pros: Biryani we ordered was good. Cons: The butter chicken was average and the sauce was room temp warm. The Diet Coke was awful. No gas and tasted warm. The water was served from the tap and in an old fashioned style of a milk bottle BUT had no lid to keep it from getting sneezed on for example or someone spitting in it. They left Cutlery and napkins on each table to self serve. However, and once again, hygiene was not taken into account. Meaning that the forks and knives were open to all hands touching it and the risk of germs as people pass by it or maybe sneezing or touching the cutlery. In professional restaurants Cutlery Is Always kept away from the public and Only brought out as and when the customer is seated. This restaurant has been opened twice It was started by a Sikh outfit who sold it with the help of a professional restaurant started to a Korean family and they re-opened it and closed twice under different Indian names. The third time now has an Indian investor but doesn't look so good. They seem to always pass it from investor to investor and the opening is okay but it declines very quickly. First time at Dhoom (Tyson's Corner Mall) today. What a wonderful restaurant. Loved the food, chicken, lamb, paneer and the eggplant dishes come in small plate style. Even the Gol Gappas/Pani Puri do not disappoint! Cocktails are well priced & named for chart topping Hindi film soundtracks. The service was great, and the owner Mr. Rahul Arora was an absolute gentlemen making sure all his customers were well fed & looked after. My seven year old loved his mango lassi just as much! Delayed, kept forgetting our orders, kind of awkward and some miscommunication. The mango lassi also could be sweeter. I was there with my family on 6.18.24. It was a very welcoming greeting from the hostess, and the waiters were also pleasant. The owner/manager was also very kind to my dad and made it feel like a family setting. Food was great as well! The Maggie Ramen was interesting but everything else we ordered (daal makhni, sarson da saag, appetizers, etc.) were all very good. The only thing that was not a 100% is that I asked for a cutting chai but it never was brought to the table even though it was on the receipt at the end. So we went here after seeing it feature in a few food bloggers Instagram reels. It looked really yum so we decided to stop by for a lunch date. The good: 1) The ambiance and vibes are immaculate. From the lighting to the decor, and my favorite is the cheeky food names. Tugged at my Bollywood loving heartstrings. 2) The workers were attentive, especially considering besides us there were only two or three other tables occupied. There were more than enough waiters to go around. And that's it.... The bad: 1) The good (the most important thing) was very disappointing. We got: Gol Guppa Shots (~4 for $8.00) - that comes out to be $2 a Gol Guppa... wtf? The filling was maybe 1 1/2 table spoons like 2 pieces of diced mango, 6 slivers of onions, and like 3 potato cubes with a little sweet tamarind sauce on top. The water was okay, mostly leaning sweet. I prefer a more salty and tangy sauce. Rating 3/10 Maggie Ramen with Chicken ($9.00 + $3 for chicken add in) - this tasted absolutely NOTHING like Maggie. Not in flavor, not in consistency... nothing. It lacked so much flavor, I resorted to adding the remaining Gol Guppa water in it to give it some flavor. And don't get me started on the chicken. It was literally the consistency of spam, that is cut up into cubes and boiled. I wouldn't get for free, let alone pay $3 for it! Rating 2/10 Chicken Tikka Flatbread ($10.00) - this is described on the menu as (Naan stuffed with chicken tikka and shredded cheese, served with our masala makhani sauce)...... um.... Where was the tikka flavor? This had NO FLAVOR AT ALL. We had to ask for salt, pepper AND sriracha to even stomach it. The chicken inside is 100% just canned chicken spread out; there is zero tikka masala, flavor nothing; the masala makhani sauce lacked salt and spice... I ate it with a thick layer of sriracha on top. I mean, don't call it chicken tikka if it has NOTHING related to its flavor or textures in your item. Rating 0/10 Fountain Drink ($3.00 - refillable) - normally don't feel the need to comment on sodas but had to here because even after asking to have it changed 3 times, each time the soda lacked any carbonation and tasted stale. Ugh Now besides food, this is a little random, but they put a big basket of spoons, forks and knives on each table... I get they're trying to make it convenient but I don't think it's practical or hygienic as no on would be able to keep track if anyone contaminated it or put a used utensil back... so maybe just stick to putting a set each per seat/guest. ------------------ Overall, this place is such a missed opportunity. The marketing, the theme, the decor, has SO MUCH potential. It has the scope to be such a big hit. But none of that matters if the FOOD isn't good. Now of course, we only had three things, but if all of them are ranging between 0-3/10... sheesh. It's not looking good. Their menu and recipes would benefit immensely with a refresh! I was invited by my friend with a group of friends for an afternoon brunch couple of weeks ago in April 2024.. The several course buffet brunch was served to us at the table. The appetizers were mouth watering and cooked to perfection. The entrees were selected both for vegetarians and non vegetarians. Every dish was served timely and with care.
