I love checking out pizza restaurants!! What an awesome chance that we happened upon Dewey's! The server (Kyle I believe) was so nice and helpful. From the second we walked in they were so friendly. It seemed like a manager might have been helping out on the floor, which was amazing to see such great teamwork. Between the two of them we didn't have to ask or wait for anything. The pizza we ordered (half and half, with optional white or red sauce) was delicious and cooked perfectly. If we lived in the area we would come more frequently for sure. I'll admit that I always feel a twinge of embarrassment when I admit to liking a franchise. Hipster snob that I am, surely anything that has more than a few locations can't possibly be good? And if it is good, it's only in a "drunken fast food binge" sense. But that attitude is wrong, through. There's no reason a franchise or chain can't be really solid, and Dewey's is proof of that. It's artisanal pizza tempered ever so slightly, but in a good direction: somewhere between the greasiness of your average parlor and the froufiness of a kale and goat cheese pizza. The Porky Fig comes to mind. A fig jam base instead of marinara makes semi-sweet but tangy, which pushes it more towards artisanal, but then the toppings are prosciutto and Gorgonzola. It s just really tasty. The prices are also very fair, especially if you're splitting a thirteen inch with somebody else. And they're ok with doing a half and half of two specialties, nice considering that that might involve two different sauces. It's kid friendly, but not so much so I feel out of place ordering a beer. It's a solid establishment, one I'm happy to wander in when I'm in the neighborhood. read more

First time here for dinner with friends. Actually, one of my friends has been trying to get me to go to the one in Dayton for a while now, so I'm glad one has opened up in Dublin! (And I found out later there were already two other locations in Columbus already, Worthington and Grandview Heights, but oh well haha!) The atmosphere in Dewey's was very lively. We didn't have to wait for a table on Sunday night even though the place was decently packed. The waiter was super nice and knowledgeable about their pizzas. We ended up splitting two 17" pizzas with the toppings 50/50 (I'm very happy about their flexibility on that). On one pizza we got half Meatball, half Green Lantern; the other pizza had half Ryan's Inferno, half Wild Mushroom. All of the toppings were delicious, but if I had to rate them in order of my preferences, it would be Green Lantern (because I absolutely LOVE artichokes and pesto), Wild Mushroom (also a big mushroom fan!), Ryan's Inferno, then Meatball. Our Ryan's Inferno pizza had a hole in the crust, which we totally didn't mind at all, but the manager came by and told us they had made another pizza to make up for it! We assured her it was fine, but she insisted we take it, so can't really complain about complimentary food :) If there was one thing I think they could work on, it would be to make their waiter system less confusing. It was nice that multiple people came to check up on us, but I think they confused themselves when one waiter would refill our drinks and another came 30 seconds later with more drinks in hand, only to find someone else got to us first. I think we will definitely be repeat customers here! Good pizza, good atmosphere, very nice staff, and our total ended up being only $9 per person! What more can you ask for? read more

Great service and great conversation. As an out- of-towner you value a friendly place and welcoming staff. Often I travel with a colleague and we will usually gravitate towards seating at the bar verse a table. It avoids a wait. It also lends itself to conversation with the staff. Karen and Amanda were incredible hosts. Hats off to their customer service. A rare quality these days. I visited Dewey's Pizza because of prior recommendations and have to say they are spot on. This is worthy of the stop. The pizzas are great. The crust is perfect and cooked well but not over done. The variety of pizza pies is outstanding and you can always build your own. There is no personal pizza size but the 11" inch pie comes very close to a personal size. Makes for great left overs. Great local craft beer choices on tap as well and the atmosphere is just right. I went here for lunch today with my coworkers and was pretty excited, as this was my very first visit to a Dewey's Pizza. We went during lunch hour and were immediately seated by whom I assume was the manager. The staff here was awesome. Our waiter was extremely knowledgable and friendly, and another server was on top of our drinks and other table items. We all decided on getting personal, 11 inch pizzas. After ordering, our waiter suggested that we could just get 3 large pizzas, and they could split up our topping orders on each half to save a few bucks on everyone's bill (which I really appreciated). The pizza came out quickly. I ordered the Green Lantern, which was delicious. Their crust was a little thin and didn't support all the toppings that well, so I would agree that it could've been cooked longer to crisp up some more (minus 1 star) - but that didn't really affect my pizza enjoyment experience. I should also add that I am a little bit lactose intolerant, and most "chain" pizza makes me sick. I ate 3 pieces and I feel great (minus my little food baby, quietly resting in my stomach now). So I can confirm that Dewey's uses quality ingredients for their 'za. I would definitely return to this location again, and would also suggest it to others. read more

Second time here and we LOVE the pizza! We tried the salads this time, too, and they were also delicious. We came around dinner time and didn't wait for a table which was nice. The only thing that was odd was we didn't have a specific server. We had several different people bringing us food and drinks, and the girl that brought us the bill was incredibly unpleasant. My husband usually goes easier on people than I do and he even said "well she's full of sunshine isn't she? Who is our actual server??" Wouldn't really recommend this place. My husband and I have a small baby and we finally had a date night. Why we choose this place is beyond me . But, we did. The food was good. Service annoys me beyond belief. So, it was a Friday night and NOONE was there. However, there was a full blown employee training/job interview conducted directly behind us. How's that for romantic/private? Anyway, when we asked them to move, they did but acted as if it was an inconvenience. My wife and I tried Dewey's for the first time tonight and it was fantastic!! Only negative I can think of would be the salad didn't have enough dressing. The pizza? My wife has lived in Ohio for only a few years now but she said it was easily the best pizza she's had here. Can't say I can disagree with her assessment. We got the Green Lantern....artichokes, goat cheese, pesto, mushrooms and garlic. The bomb! Super tasty and not at all greasy like a lot of pizzas. Looking forward to our next trip here. This staff is 5+ stars for sure. Yeah... they mess up every once in awhile, but they're human, so that will happen. They ALWAYS try to make up for their mistakes. They genuinely care about their customers. They greet me every time I come in, they know my order and ask how everything is going. Some of the waitresses even remember details of my life and ask about them in future visits. Makes me feel so at home! Oh... and also the food is good. I eat calzones every time; they are heavenly! In my ripe old age.. It's not too often I drive out of my comfort zone into the city to indulge at the happening places, but I was pretty excited to hear that Dublin was getting their own Dewey's and I had to check it out. Our visit here was not too shabby. The pizza is a gourmet style pizza, which I will highly recommend those who visit to just order one of the pizzas on their menu, or if you're feeling unsure.. ask your waitress. Most of them have a preference, or have a tried a couple different pies, so they might be able to steer you in the right direction. We ordered the Green Lantern. A red based pizza with lots of green veggies and goat cheese on top. It was fantastic! The crust here is pretty good, but I recommend more than just a plain pepperoni and cheese.. otherwise you'll be feeling a little underwhelmed. The server who took our order said they're known for their salads as well, which might be tempting me for a return visit. My qualms with my visit and why this wasn't a five star review is... the layout. The layout here makes no sense at all. Where customers enter you are greeted by a giant freezer, and the other side of the bar. People were standing around for carryout orders at the bar, and we were just la-ti-dah-ing thinking they were waiting to be seated, so we wasted a good five minutes waiting for someone to ask us if we needed to be sat. It's just a hellish bad entrance...that's all. Skip dessert here. That chocolate cake is chocolate covered Sahara desert at best, Dry-oh-dry. Overall Dewey's is one for the books. Get real people, this is not a five star pizza restaurant. My biggest complaint is that they don't cook the crust long enough. My work got this pizza delivered a few weeks ago and I was excited to try it. I've heard great things and thought it was going to be pretty good. Boy was I wrong. The pizza was so salty and greasy. I love a good crust and this was kind of rubbery. I thought about maybe trying a different type since I had just opted for the cheese slice, but I couldn't force myself to do it. She was describing a vanilla bean cake with bourbon cream and if I wasn't weighing in at weight watchers tomorrow, I'd have succumbed. When we first got here, the place looked nice. We sat down pretty fast with no wait at all. The waitresses were very nice and bubbly and they made good recommendations. We ordered two salads, one was covered in dressing but it was still good. The other salad was delicious and had the right amount of toppings. When we got our pizza, half Green Lantern half Southwestern BBQ, it looked very unique, unlike other pizza places. Everyone at the table loved the BBQ side, the Green Lantern was very good, but not as good as the BBQ. Overall experience was very good, even though a bit pricey. My daughter is recently gluten free due to Celiac disease and I was impressed with the measures they take to prepare pizza safely for those with allergy issues. You won't find that level of commitment from a lot of restaurants. And the pizza itself was delicious so it was a huge win for us. The harvest salad was also amazing! read more

Do these people have work permits lol? It's good to hire young adults not picking up calzone gonna have to eat it with a knife they brush it with olive oil or something don't wear white here very tasty calzone cooked really well. This pizza is delicious, but what made our experience a five star was the service. The waitstaff all supports each other in managing the needs of the patrons. We ordered the Bronx Bomber, and when it arrived in all its glory, it had an extra topping of meatballs...bonus, right? We were content to eat this divine creation without any hesitation. The manager came to us and apologized for the mistake and made us a new (correct) pizza to take home and let us eat the one they'd delivered to our table. When the check came, neither pizza was on the bill. I checked to make sure it was correct and the manager had given us both for free. Every business makes mistakes, how they handle them says volumes about their integrity. And this, ladies and gentlemen is why I'll be returning to this establishment. We go tonight for dinner and told up to 15 minute wait, get seated and manager comes and profusely apologized for going over wait time. We go to Deweys for great food, phenomenal service and always consistent service. We aren't ever looking for something for nothing and by no means was any warranted. I was visiting Columbus with a friend of mine, we live on the lake a bit east of cleveland, and I have to say Dewey's was the....least impressive non-chain pizza I've ever had. I'm hesitant to say bad because it really wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't good enough to warrant the price. (We had an 11" Half Hawaiian and Half Socrates Revenge, plus we each had a drink. Total was just about $19) On that note though, after we left my friend and I both agreed our drinks (coke and lemonade) were the best part of our meal. The staff was awesome, the restaurant itself was very inviting and clean, everything was absolutely great except the pizza and the high prices for so little. The pizza itself wasn't bad but...I'd actually prefer Marcos simply for their crust. The crust on our pizza wasn't limp or undercooked like other reviews seem to say, it was just paper thin and didn't really add anything to the pizza. The toppings were good (we had an 11" half Hawaiian and half Socrate's Revenge) and the cheese...well it was tastey and tasted like cheese (looking at you, chain pizza) but we otherwise felt letdown when we left and promptly sought out another restaurant to get dinner at. read more
