    Old World Peppperoni
    Amanda D.

This is one of our favorite pizza places in town. We aren't big on large pizza chain places. We prefer smaller shops and mom & pop shops. This isn't a huge chain but they do it right. The service is great, the food is great, and it always hits the spot This time we got the old world pepperoni pizza. I was hesitant beside the image on the site shows edge to edge pepperonis overlapping other pepperonis. I do prefer to see cheese on top and I like crispy crust. I was pleasantly surprised when it wasn't exactly like the photo haha. It was delicious. All the little pepperonis all curled up on top. It was nice and crispy and delicious. The Italian sun was great. First time having it. The bread was yummy and the salami pieces were crispy on the edges and curled up just like pepperonis on the pizza. Loved it. It comes in a plastic container, rather than wrapped in foil. It worked perfectly for our pizza left overs!!

    Gluten Free Pizza

We got gluten free pepperoni pizza and wings. The gluten free pizza was amazing and everything was a decent price.

I've been coming to this location for many years and now I'm not sure if I want to come back. My favorite item to get was their traditional wings. I always got the 10 piece wings with hot sauce. Their pizzas are alright, but my favorite is the Old World. That's why they get 1 extra star. The reason I'm giving a pretty bad review is they've changed their wings. They're no longer breaded free/naked, they're now breaded. The second wing in was chewy and fatty. Not only did they change their wings, they've changed the size portion. Now it's 8, 12 and I forgot the last portion. The hot sauce is the same, but the taste was not that great. I could be thinking that because of my second wing being terrible, but even the workers there said they don't get why it was changed. Please bring the old ones back or please have a choice between breaded or not breaded.

    a plate of food

My husband and I have been pinching pennies, and we decided to use our accumulating special cash to get Stromboli. I ordered pepperoni, black olives and banana peppers. This is what I got. No meat. This breastfeeding mamma needs her meat! Our rare opportunity to order food was very disappointing.

Or I've just been lucky. I did not expect to give this five stars, or to enjoy it quite as much as I did. I mean, it's a sandwich shop. Grinders used to be scattered around Columbus, and this might be the only one left. I used to go to the one by me all the time. This happened to be nearby today, and so I stopped in out of nostalgia. And it was pretty much what I remember. But a peak experience. Service was great, fast and friendly. The menu is pretty much the same as it always was. Lobster bisque was one of the soups of the day and I didn't expect it to be great quality, but it sounded good, and I got my usual club sub. Soup and drink, and bread for the soup (you could choose crackers) were up almost immediately. Sandwich took about 10 minutes, but that's of course because it's being toasted. The soup was fine, nothing special, strong sherry odor, lots of tiny bits of lobster. Pleasant enough, and served with a chunk of good bread. And they serve it piping hot in its own little crock with a metal spoon. Don't throw those in the trash. The sandwich was as good as I remember, maybe better. Good bread, loads of meat, tomatoes, and a honey mustard spread. I got a 6 inch and it seemed longer than that, although maybe my estimation skills are off... It was very tasty. Held together pretty well. I was stuffed. They have lots of salads, that is, pasta salad or potato salad, etc. They are always good, but I didn't have any room with the soup. The place was clean, it was steady at 1 PM but not packed. Plenty of parking in the big mall lot. I really enjoyed it. And as far as sandwich shops go, this is about as good as it gets.

The inside looks basically the same, with a small counter for pick-up and a few tables if you want to eat there. I've never had pizza in New York, so I can't compare this to that, but I can say this was delicious. The crust was cooked perfectly, mostly chewy, with just the smallest bit of crunch, and had a nice bread-y flavor. And the Meat Lovers pizza was absolutely loaded with meat. The garlic bread was better than most pizza places -- crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle, with more of a real garlic and real butter flavor. And the marinara sauce that came with it was really good. If it's the same sauce they use on their pastas I'm sure those will be great, too. The menu is huge, with appetizers, pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, salads, wings, desserts, and more. I will definitely go back and try lots of other stuff. Hopefully everything is just as good and I'll have an update to post here. Edit: We went back and got a Stromboli (pepperoni and sausage). This helped solidify my 5-star review! (Two stromboli pics added.) Note: We ordered garlic rolls this time and they were good, but the garlic bread was better.

Needed lunch and thought about North High Street, but was not already mentally preparing to fight for parking like it's a Black Friday sale in 2003. Audible called. Swung into Grove City instead. Smart move. Possibly my best decision since I stopped trusting gas station hotdogs. After some extensive research (opened Yelp Columbus judged harshly, moved on), I had three requirements: 1. Not a cookie-cutter chain 2. Somewhere new 3. A menu that wouldn't trigger "I don't see anything I like" syndrome Enter: Broadway Plates & Pints 4008 Broadway, Grove City Grove City is that sweet spot... close enough to Columbus to feel alive, but still has that "people wave at you for no reason" energy. Parked on the street like a rookie, only to later discover there's parking behind everything. If you can't find a spot, just check the rear. Yes, I said it. Walked in, grabbed a seat. Smaller place, but in a good way. Elevated tables, bar seating, normal tables for us normal-ish folks. Big windows for prime people-watching. My dimpled sidekick even got a wave from a random passerby. #Friendly #ShesGotFans Then... plot twist... Cleveland Ketchup Company Ketchup sitting on the table. Didn't even know ketchup could have a hometown. #OH.. All-natural, Ohio-made, no junk. And yeah... it's actually really good. The Bald Bunch supports local, even if it's tomatoes living their best life. Check Cleveland Ketchup Company out. They have plenty of locally sourced condiment options. #supportlocal Server Emma B rolls up, keeps it simple. Water and a Michelob ULTRA for me. Because hydration matters... and so does survival. We were starving, so appetizer time: Fried Mozzarella Triangles Hot, crispy, did the job. Not life-changing, not disappointing. The Toyota Camry of appetizers. Reliable. Gets you where you need to go. Now the menu... solid lineup. Burgers, wings, calzones, sandwiches, enough options to make commitment issues flare up. I was bouncing between a calzone, Italian sub, or burger... Then I saw it... THE KRAKEN And listen... you don't order The Kraken. You summon it. This thing shows up like it just crawled out of the Atlantic looking for revenge: * THREE patties (because one or two is for amateurs) * Bacon * American cheese * Caramelized onions * Onion ring * Steak aioli * Brioche bun * AND a honey butter pretzel sitting on top like a crown Just in case was not already enough calories. This wasn't lunch. This was a full-contact event. Immediately ate the onion ring and honey butter pretzel solo like a savage. Then went to work. Multiple napkins required. Not first-date safe. Not job interview safe. Possibly not OSHA approved. But man... it was GOOD. Patties cooked right. Bacon had that perfect bite. Aioli and onions brought it all together like a greasy symphony. Left full... borderline questioning life choices... but zero regrets. Fries? Solid. Pretzel Topper? Sneaky good. Honestly might go back just for those. Service? Emma B crushed it. Drinks stayed filled, no disappearing act, no "I'll be right back" and then vanishing into another dimension. Now... let's talk price. $54.25 for lunch. Look... I get it. Everything costs more now. But I'm still gonna complain about it like it's my full-time job. Either prices come down or someone needs to give me a raise. Preferably both. And one more thing... Beer was cold. BUT NOT IN A FROSTED MUG. Unacceptable. Somewhere, Congress is wasting time when they could be solving real issues like this. Draft beer should never warm up mid-drink. That's just science. Final Rating: ‍‍‍‍ - 4 out of 5 Bald Heads Pros: * Parking (once you stop ignoring the back lot like I did) * Great people-watching windows * Filling, legit good food * Friendly, attentive staff Cons: * No frosted mugs (we can fix this, I believe in you) * Prices... but also, apparently I just complain now #OldMan If you're cruising through Grove City and want solid food, a relaxed vibe, and a burger that might require a waiver... this is your spot.
