Please keep this place open! WG Grinders is one of my comfort restaurants in Columbus. I always get their turkey reuben which lasts me two meals--a great price for the quality and quantity of food. It's an unassuming restaurant from the outside but they support local athletics and student groups which is great. My family ordered 4 sandwiches and they were finished in about 20 minutes. Kind of a long wait but there were 3 parties ahead of us.

Perfect sandwiches every time. Stromboli's and soup are also very good. Friendly service and never too long of a wait when we call our order in.

    Pepperoni and sausage Stromboli

Stromboli is delicious and has the perfect crunch to the outside. Their subs are also always good. I come here quite a few times, especially when I want a sub. Sweets are always good too. Service is always friendly and fast.

This was my second time here. Chicken Parm Grinder and pasta salad. Great sandwich plenty of flavor and toastyness Based on the others reviews and my experience so far, you can't go wrong with this place !

This happens often, I said no blue cheese on the sandwich twice, and I still get blue cheese put on it ‍

Quick stop off the highway. Amazing spicy chicken sub. Just the right amount of heat on some chucked chicken breast with fresh crisp lettuce and tomato. I opted for the fresh fruit instead of chips and this was just a delightful meal. The staff were pleasant and quickly brought my meal to the outside seating. Yes this place is in a strip mall with a few chicken joints in the parking lot... but you won't get a better sandwich anywhere! Super delicious! Reminds me of the old days... and the place was doing a bang up lunch business. Make this a stop!

I haven't had Grinders in a looooooong time and was in the area so I had to scratch that itch and I have to say it was a great decision. Seeing the checkered floor and the glass cubes... nostalgia. Had a hard time choosing between my 3 favs - the club, cordon bleu, and buffalo chicken w/ gorgonzola. I went w/ the buffalo and the cheddar mac. The portion on the cheddar mac was somehow bigger than I remember and I squeezed two meals out of a 10" sub and one side. Win. I love this place. Just as good if not better than I remember. I'll be back often. Worth the trip to the west side around 270. So glad there's still one or two of these spots in Columbus.

You order before you find a seat, and the host who took our order was so kind and down to earth. He gave us recommendations and affirmed our choices. I can't remember his name but, he was wearing a cast/sling so I hope he gets the appreciation he deserves. I ordered the Everyday Egg sandwich with bacon and substituted a biscuit in place of the brioche bun. I'm going to tell you right now - this was the best decision ever! I also ordered a single ricotta pancake, the breakfast potatoes the Country breakfast, and the iced strawberry matcha latte. The country breakfast and the everyday egg sandwich have the exact same presentation, I wish the country breakfast was presented with each item separately rather than stacked as a sandwich but it was still delicious. Just like on the Egg sandwich the eggs are the star, fluffy, cooked to perfection. The biscuits was golden brown and flaky and had a nice bite. It paired very nicely with the strawberry preserves. The ricotta pancake was a standout, fluffy and beautifully soft and lightly crispy on the edges. It is paired with fresh cut bananas. Everything was delicious. The only issues arose because the kitchen ran into an issue with their fryer preventing them from preparing the breakfast potatoes. It also caused a delay in them bringing out part of my meal. They jumped into action to apologize and they treated me to a chocolate chip cookie (delicious, warm and huge!) and a complimentary meal at my next visit. As I live out of town I chose to redeem this by ordering the simple salad to take home to which I added avocado. The salad was delicious, I loved the croutons and the light vinaigrette - the avocado added an enjoyable creaminess. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Columbus!

The house was frantic as it was packed with several groups either adding on folls to their parties last minute or trying to walk in! Appreciate the staff handling everything with a smile. The chef was out delivering food and shaking hands as everyone shared their favorite memories of the restaurant. Coming off of Bourbon fest, we decided for light fare and got a closing drink along with the Off Menu red snapper crudo with rice paper crackers, watermelon salad, and pomodoro pasta. We shared everything and took half the pasta to go. The crudo was fresh and creamy with an avocado base while the watermelon salad was brine, sweet, and refreshing at the same time. I was a bit worried as it looks more like a night club from the outside, but the food was fantastic! We ordered the popcorn chicken, the Shanghai noon burger, mama Chien's dumplings, drunken noodles, a cobra old fashion and a local beer (paper cloud?). The chicken had some unique seasoning and the drunken noodles were phenomenal; the noodles were giant and cooked perfectly and the dish has some unique touches like pea pods that you don't usually find. You order at the bar, but even with that the service was great! A server brought out an herb for us to try that is in many of their dishes. They checked in on us several times and even refilled water, which you get yourself at the back. The customer base was very diverse. I'm guessing the place may turn more club-like later at night, but for dinner it's a perfect family restaurant.

We were buying drinks for friends, and the bartender asked to see their IDs. Totally understandable and not a problem at all. The problem was how it was handled. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude from the start. When I said she could bring her ID up, I was told it had to be on a separate tab because she wasn't standing with me. Again, rules are rules, but there was a noticeable difference between enforcing a policy and making customers feel like they're inconveniencing you. The food was solid as always, but the overall experience wasn't great this time around. I'd still come back for the food, but hopefully the service is better next visit.
