    East Village pepperoni
    Alycia H.

I ordered the East Village Pepperoni because it looked good -- plus it's the owner's favorite, so I figured it had to be worth it. I got it through Uber Eats, and while it did take about an hour to arrive, it was pretty damn good. The crust has that perfect char and crunch, the flavor is spot-on, and the fresh basil on top really makes it stand out. It is a little pricey, but for the quality, I'd still order it again.

Half pepperoni half mushroom some touching table.

When I'm craving pizza, Sexton's hits the spot. It's yeasty and doughy with the right amount of wood burning char. The place isn't fancy - some booths. Paper plates, plastic etc but so yum. Definitely check it out. The only negative- the way they put it on the tray some of the pizza actually was off of the tray and touched the actual table which grossed me out. It was the side of my dining companion's pizza and didn't seem to bother him.

After having lunch at their nearby burger bar we wanted to try the full Sextons experience so we grabbed a pie for Sunday. After getting the pizza it looked so good so we tried a slice in the car. This pizza is unlike many spots in Columbus where it's cut in squares yet nearly close to all of that areas spots are trying to copy or piggy back off of Donatos. This was traditional cut with a unique crust flavor. The toppings flavor profiles of the meat were great as well. Furthermore it had plenty of cheese. My only suggestion is for them to add MORE MEAT such as pepperoni, bacon etc. Outside of that it's a good and decent pizza.

No one can serve beer. What a bummer.

First timer at Sexton's Gahanna. 5* NY style. Great tasty crust, wow on the cupped pepperoni, and the cheese is just outstanding. Only drawback tonight, there was no one to serve beer since all four employees were under 21. The beer on tap selection was very good, which made not getting a beer even worse. You could get cans out of the cooler, but the selection was poor. The team was working hard and they were slammed at 6:30. "I'll be back"! Thanks to Stallone for the quote.

What's the dilly 'yo! That's not a typo, that's the flavor of my new favorite pizza in C-Bus! Square crust with perfectly caramelized crust paired with crunch thin sliced dill pickles, whole milk mozzarella baked to perfection with just a drizzle of garlic olive oil. Is it amazing? Don't take my word for it, they sell out of their pies pretty quick on the daily do place your order and enjoy sooner than later!

Absolutely amazing! You must try! Got the mike pizza and can't wait to come back and try more. Sexton's Burger Bar is absolutely amazing too.

My friend had been telling me about this place for weeks. You have to order online, and I never seemed to be able to beat the rush. But I decided I would get up early and order ahead of time. I ordered the pepperoni pizza, and for a got a side of the ranch and hot honey on the side. I thought the pizza was just okay, maybe I have to try one of their specialty pizzas. But to me the pepperoni was just okay. I was a little disappointed . But the overall service when I picked up the pizza was good, the restaurant was clean inside . I will definitely give them another try for sure.

    1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 mushroom.
    Stephanie P.

I was skeptical to try but the pictures made the pizza look delicious and rich with flavor, the packed pepperoni was impressive. Fast forward to what I received. I preferred 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 mushroom. The bottom was burnt and uncooked in places and tasted as such, the pepperoni was scarce. There was a lack of sauce in places and just dough. Very disappointed.

Decided I was going to finally check this place out. First thing to know is they only have large pizzas. Ordered a pepperoni and cheese pizza. The dough is made perfectly, nice and airy with the slightest char to it. They use a medley of cheeses on it that melts nicely. On to the pepperoni, for me it wasn't cooked enough but that is my opinion. I am used to cooking with Ezzo's Cup and Char pepperoni. If they made different sizes I might return but everything I've read online from them that isn't happening.

Wow. I would write this review solely for my experience with pick up. The front of house staff you have out there was on their A GAME tonight. The second I walked in I was met with a smile. The woman was so friendly and chipper. I think she improved MY mood with her positivity, ha. More importantly I suppose, the pizza is good! It has a crispy crust that gives you a satisfying crunch. Ugh. So good. Their house made ranch is creamy and tangy. And their garlic knots are plush and flavorful. Big fan of the marinara. I'd love to come back and enjoy a pie in the storefront. They have a well-stocked bar and the place was so clean.

Our family loves pizza and follow Dave Portnoy, found this place because of him and disagree with his 8.1.......it's definitely higher, more like an 8.3-8.5! This place is awesome, LOVE the crunch on every bite, the cheese isn't greasy, and the pepperonis are perfect. We are going to make this place a weekly visit. All the staff was super friendly and the pizza came out fast. We always dine in, and the place had great music also. They even gave our kids cookies after we were done. Can't recommend this place enough. I'm already looking forward to our next pizza. The wife enjoyed the draft beer....forgot to ask if they fill growlers.

My husband got the Korean BBQ Scotch Egg (so different but very tasty), BBQ glazed meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes, lemon chilli green beans (he normally doesn't like his vegetables, but he said these were so fresh and tasty), and Espresso Martini Pot De Crème. I had the Italian Wedding Soup (very good but did not have the meatballs), Pasta Bolognese (pasta was cooked perfectly and drained properly, so it did not water down the sauce!), and Apple Pie Mousse. I also got one of their mocktails called Brambleberry Tea. I could have easily drunk a couple of those! I forgot mention that they pour some nicely chilled water from a bottle that they leave on the table when you sit down. That is a nice touch for us since that is our choice of beverage when we eat. We were treated so warmly by everyone from the time we walked in until we left. Our server, Tyler, asked if we had been before (and this was our first time), so he welcomed us and asked if we had any questions. He was attentive during our time and even asked my husband if he needed any more sauce for his meatloaf. Marvin, the manager, stopped by to see how our first experience went and wanted to invite us back by gifting us coupons for an appetizer on our next visit. Thank you! The atmosphere was rustic and casual. I loved the picture frames hanging (used like walls) and lots of exposed bricks. The bathrooms were clean, well-stocked, and warm. We are looking forward to coming back to try the regular menu!

My dad and I ordered brunch- avocado toast for me and the skillet pancake for my dad- and they were both cold. Not warm, mine didn't have any warmth at all. My mom's mac and cheese looked awesome, very warm, and her grilled cheese dip plate was too, and she loved them. I knew I didn't want to eat my meal as-is, and was going to ask them to at least warm it up, but my waitress never came back to check on us for so long that my parents were almost done eating (my dad ate his cold, but ice cold egg was a no-go for me). He had to wave her down to come back to us, and I just decided to not bother and they took it off the bill. She also forgot to refill my coffee, but the manager came over I asked for it from him. He explained that the toppings on the avocado toast make it cold, so I guess be warned. Disappointing visit for sure.

The bread was perfectly toasted without being overdone, the avocado was fresh and generous, and the two basted eggs were cooked perfectly. I also like the little details -- real salt and pepper grinders at the table, plus hot sauce if that's your thing. This is my fairer place to order biscuits & gravy for a few reasons: -the sensible portion doesn't make you feel like crap (only 1 biscuit opened up on plate) -the turkey makes it lighter yet at same time this is a chunkier gravy than most...I'm not having to look for the meat -they put so much pepper in it normally that it has a nice kick of flavor, instead of the traditional bland one you get at many places. Switched out the potatoes for a side of cheesy grits which always hits the spot. The breakfast quinoa bowl is something I used to get all the time so I was really craving it, but it didn't hit the same way this time. Also ordered a mimosa, which I'm a fan of them bringing you a mini split bottle when you order it. Service is always good especially for how crowded this place gets. Overall, I'll be back at some point but this experience doesn't make me want to rush back to do so anytime soon.

When we walked in the hostess told us, it would be a two hour wait. Yes I expect delays on a Saturday evening, but when I asked if the bar was open seating, she told me yes. I walked around the bar and noticed that the bar was full, but there were the small tables around the bar. I asked the hostess are those tables part of the open bar seating and she said yes. There were a couple available and of course we sat down, but my wife and I were both surprised that the hostess would not have encouraged us and informed us right upfront that those tables were available rather than running the risk that we would leave due to a two hour wait. We then ordered a drink before dinner and I asked for a Corona. The waiter said we're out of corona and I said that is too bad on a Saturday evening at 6:30 PM -- how is an upscale restaurant out of one of the few bottled beers that they offer? We noticed also on the drinks menu that wine is served and poured at 5 and 8 ounces, but it is priced rather high and certainly as high as a 6 and 9 ounce pours, which is more customary at those price points The meal was ok, but the chicken breast was a little bit overcooked and the seasoned sauce was stronger than our pallets can handle. We also ordered dessert and decided to have coffee. My wife asked for a decaffeinated coffee. The waiter said to us "we don't carry decaf coffee only regular." I said you've got to be kidding, really? He said yes. I said well it's not your fault at all. You are just doing your job, but please have your manager come over, so I can speak with him. He never came by, so I asked another waitress walking by to have the manager come by. He finally came to our table and he opens by saying "It's a busy night." Clearly conveying that he was annoyed that he was called to our table. I explained to him that a restaurant like Firebirds that's on the higher end of the price scale in the area should definitely have Corona beer in stock and certainly decaffeinated coffee should be on the menu on a Saturday night, in frankly every night of the week. And all he could say to me is.. " I'm sorry we'll work on that." and then he walked away. Bottom line, Fire Bird's, you lost a good customer in us. Somebody needs to council the manager on how to communicate with customers and to express genuine concern for their interest, wishes, and any inconvenience that they might encounter. For this reason, two stars is probably a generous rating, and I will give credit to our waiter who did his best and behaved far more professionally than his manager.
