We got take out from here last night for the super bowl. The pizza is delicious! The crust is thin which a slightly doughy crust. The sauce is slightly sweet and the cheese is generous. It kind of reminds me of Bridge Street Pizza in Dublin with a slightly thicker crust. We also got garlic cheese bread, macaroni and cheese bites, and mozzarella sticks. The macaroni and cheese bites were good as well as the GCB although a tiny bit cold. However considering we got take out on a snowy Super Bowl Sunday they were pretty good. I think the mozzarella sticks might have either been taken too quick out of the fryer or not at all. Fortunately after putting them in the oven they weren't bad. We will definitely try Sparano's again because the pizza was amazing but will pick a time when things will hopefully be more calm. read more

I guess no one stays on top forever and that's the reason I'm writing this review. A few years ago I found this pizza shop on the fly. They quickly became a favorite of mine and would order a few times a month. The staff was always pleasant and worked to make the food right the first time. Unfortunately my top pizza place has fallen. If I could date the change in taste and quality it would be around Covid-19. There seemed to be a change in staff and food. Sparano's is no longer at this address. They have the same phone number as the Sparano's. Just picked up a pizza from there for lunch. This is obviously not the same pizza I've been eating for the last 4 years. So I called them and asked if they were under New management or something because this is not the pizza I expected. They said yes they are the new owners. They are Kathy's Pizza now. Even though you can search Saparono's on Google and end up here. How frustrating. read more

Edited to add a photo of the Heavy Duty -- this is a medium. Look at those toppings! Added a star because this pizza deserves it. Not greasy, great toppings, tasty crust. They do use canned mushrooms, but that's actually my preference. Funny thing to note: I hate banana peppers but I really like them from Sparanos. read more

This is a very solid choice for a Columbus style, party cut, or whatever the hell you want to call it pie. Mine was extra cheesy so I really liked that, and they don't skimp on the ingredients here. I think my favorite part overall was the crust. It's super thin, and super crispy but not burnt. It really provides a nice crunch when you're digging in to this pizza and was probably the highlight for me. I don't have a whole lot to say about this place other than I wish I had tried it sooner. It's definitely a good option for people in the Grandview/Quarry/Riverside area and just a straight up good Columbus pizza. read more

Easy online ordering through the Slice app. When I arrived they had a lot of to-go orders. I had to wait about 10 minutes longer than the estimated time. I got the garlic Parmesan chicken wings and a pizza. The wings were a bit dry. The pizza was really good and unique from many other pizza places. It was more of a pie but not deep dish. It was filled with toppings. Personally there were too many banana peppers, but easily something that I can specify on a special request next time. read more

My son brought home some leftovers from a friend's game-watching gathering, so I heated it up in a skillet, and was quite pleasantly surprised. Got a salad and pasta plate the other night - salad was half the size of the large we've gotten in the past 17 years - hardly any greens and no dressing was provided. Pasta plate was considerably smaller than normal. And no meatballs available. Will review again IF and when I try a pie. Best pizza in columbus, perfect amount of everything everytime.

I sat to the immediate left of the owner of this place while playing poker in Cincinnati a couple of months ago. During our conversations, he told me of this place and proudly proclaimed how good of a pizza his place made. I told him that in the near future, I'd give it a try when in the Columbus area. A few nights ago I ordered a large, half pepperoni, half sausage. Very delicious and high quality in all ways from the flavorful crust with a nice crunch, tasty sauce, better than average pepperoni, and a very good sausage that blows away the poor excuse of what passes for sausage most chain shops and many local places have as well. Staff was friendly, attentive, and hard working. If I was younger and didn't have a bad back, I'd approach the owner about him opening a location or three in the Dayton area and offer to manage one so that my fellow Daytonians could get an upgrade from their usual pizza offerings! p.s.-4 stars only because it takes complete perfection for me to give 5 stars and that almost doesn't exist! read more

Have ordered Sparano's likely close to a hundred times since moving to the area five years ago. I've always liked the quality of the pizza however will no longer be ordering after tonight. I arrived home and after eating two pieces of my pizza discovered a five inch brown hair in the pizza (pic attached). I immediately called and the manager offered to make a new pizza. I arrived back at Sparano's, hair-pizza in hand, but when told none of the bill would be reimbursed I politely declined the pizza. I ordered food from here probably once a week sometimes twice a week sometimes three times a week. I have been ordering food from this location for the last 15 years. I called and I ordered my food at 7:35 PM it showed up at 8:49 PM not only was it an almost an hour and a half late when they showed up they said I only have half of your food. So I rejected it and I called the pizza place hoping they would at least offer an apology, and I got no offer. I really surprised when i went in. Only half the staff had on masks. Very unorganized. No one wearing gloves while handling the food.

LOVE this place. Honestly this place is about 10 minutes from my home, but it is worth driving a little farther to pick up some good pizza. I havent eaten at this place for several years. I figured to skip out on making dinner tonight and suggested Sparano's to the hubby. We called ahead and picked up the pizza 30 minutes later. GOOOD!!! The owners are always friendly and the pizza is one of the best in the area. We will definitely be back again for pizza!! Went here after a golf outing at Raymond. Pizza was really good. Ordered through Door Dash a few weeks later and added a sub to my order. Subs are great as well. If you haven't had this pizza, I would suggest to try it at least once. It rivaled Tommy's for me. This was a mixed bag for us. I found the pizza to be pretty spicy (in a good way) and would likely order it again. My husband didn't enjoy it and said it was bland. The flavor was reminiscent of Donatos flavoring but not the same or a copy cat at all. It's a hand tossed crust but a little crispy. We also ordered breadsticks. These were something I would not order again. They were bland, and unseasoned. I'm not gonna act like we're casual about our pizza and tend to be a bit picky. Second day pizza this is not either. I would likely order this for myself again but not for us as a dinner. We ordered during an OSU game and were told the order would take an hour. I've had the Italian Sub (very good-nice dressing and toasted bread) and a small 10" Heavy Duty pizza. The toppings were impressive--very chunky. The mushrooms were from a can, which I'm not a fan of, but all in all it was pretty good. Crust a medium thickness and slightly chewy; sauce was nice and mild. If it says anything they have multiple Slice of Columbus award banners hanging on the walls. Speaking of the inside, it leaves a lot to be desired. Not a lot of tables and not very, um, cheery. Order to-go or delivery and you'll be fine. They have a small case of canned drinks and 2 liters. Check out their menu for they have appetizers, subs and pizza. Very good pizza. The sausage was large chunks as opposed to small rabbit dropping sized. Sauce had a little sweetness and crust had a little crunch. Overall a good pizza...definitely will order again... highly recommend over large chains. read more

I had a bad experience ordering from Sparano's using The Slice app. I work at a busy and large office building so I left detailed instructions to ask for me by department. The driver arrived and told the front desk my name not department. The front desk asked the driver for more information that they did not provide. Because of this the food sat for 30 minutes before I was able to pick it up. In that time I contacted Slice who informed me the pizza was delivered but not to where. When I complained later Sparano's said the front desk person seemed confused -- she takes deliveries all day long, she definitely wasn't confused. The pizza seemed like it would have been good, though when I tried it it wasn't fresh any longer so about 3 slices were eaten in total before it had to be tossed (I HATE throwing away food but at an office party it just sorta sat there as the other food had already been eaten by the time it arrived) I would love to try them again, but will definitely be picking my order up or eating in next time! read more

This is my favorite place for pizza. But time after time I've been let down, every chance I give this place, it always seems to burn me. I was ready to order 13-16 large pizza for my guest for my party on New Years. I called and of course Sparano's was closed "due to being out of dough and other supplies" keep in mind this was around 6:45pm New Years Eve, the only pizza shop on New Years who decides to screw over customers, and not take Our money.
