I cannot speak for the ambiance except for the quick glance into the dining room when I did a pick up. It seems nice. I got the gluten free taco pizza with extra sour cream and such. It was wonderful! The perfect combination of taco toppings and a nice crust. If you are on the fence of having tacos or pizza for your meal, this is the way to go! The service was ok. In the area and hadn't had an Eagles pie in a while. Same consistent flavors...good sauce, plenty of cheese (even without adding extra) and enough pepperoni to get some in each bite. Taco a great specialty (does not come with onions in case you are wondering)...lots of lettuce and tomatoes plus taco sauce and sour cream on the side. We finally dined in! We usually get take away but this time decided to stay. You order at the counter, they give youba number you find a seat and they bring your food to the table. There is a soda fountain so you get your own drinks. Its really cute! Lots of local historical things on display here. They have booths and tables. Our food came out quickly. Used to live nearby and came all the time. Solid local pizza place. Happened to be nearby today and: it hasn't changed. Okay, sure, the menu board is electronic now. I think the bathrooms have been redone. And yes, prices are higher. But same place, same food, same experience. And that's a good thing. In a small, historic building, and the owner is a history buff so the decor is artifacts and photos from the area. (Plus his books on sale out front, Civil War-focused.) Decent sized dining area, but they do a ton of to-go business too. Good pizza. Thin-ish crust, party cut, loads of good toppings. Subs, a nice selection of sides, etc. We got several small pizzas; missed the tiny print about minis, which would be a better individual size. But hey, leftovers. And there is a display of sizes to the left of the front counter, so eyeball that. I got a sub because I remember them being good, and they are: good bread, good meat and veggies. And big. Also a side of fried cauliflower because I like it; it was enough to share. Service was great. The place is comfy. The food is good, maybe not spectacular but better than chain. Back in Johnstown, Eagle's and Johnstown Villa were practically a food group in my childhood. We went with the large Taco and a large Meat pizza because moderation is for people who didn't grow up with this legendary pie. It's great if you eat there. If you get takeout and order more than one thing, prepare for the staff to do nothing to time up your orders so that everything is ready and hot at the same time. Been coming to Eagles with family and friends for over 20 years; the Keesee family is great and love both of their pizza locations. The pepperoni and taco pizzas are legendary! Most recent visit was the first dine in experience in awhile; 8 adults and 3 kids under 6. It was during a busy dinner rush and although the food was excellent, the customer service was lacking. We had one order ticket "misplaced" and we had to remind them of it before it was found and that order eventually brought out. Another order was entirely lost, but rather than easily work with us on the missing order of fries ($2.69) two different employees insisted they had brought out everything we ordered (with the first person being pretty rude!) The second employee came out armed with all the tickets to prove they were right (even though they previously admitted they lost a ticket so not sure why it wasn't possible they lost two) and she was clearly frustrated to the point we felt we needed to calm her down. After an unnecessarily long time - the missing fries were brought out. The experience was not a reflection of my history with Eagles but perhaps the young staff currently employed are not accustomed to busy dinner rushes or how to appropriately handle such situations. read more

Overall a great local pizza place - delicious and terrific service. It has a well deserved reputation. Ordered carry out for myself and eight friends on a busy Saturday night. Despite how busy they were the staff was very courteous, friendly and quick! Plus the parking was still easy to access. While I did carry out, the vibe inside is very cute and gives off classic local neighborhood pizza place vibes. For the nine of us (5 girls and 3 guys in our late 20s) we ordered 3 large pizzas and two orders of garlic cheesy bread. It was a perfect amount of food for us and reasonably priced which is huge these days. The garlic cheesy bread lacks some eye appeal but makes up for it in taste- perfect balance of crunchy and soft bread, garlic that's flavorful and not overwhelming, with great cheese. I don't love spicy so didn't try the sausage and spicy pepper pizza but the others were delicious. I love their BBQ bacon chicken pizza - not a traditional red sauce but very good. They are also very generous with toppings which is appreciated and makes them extra delicious! The toppings were all flavorful and well combined though you are able to choose your own topping combinations. finally, I was very grateful for how easily I could customize pizzas and split them - it makes it so much easier for large groups with different preferences! read more

Even though I live very close, I don't eat here much, but I should. We got a pizza and it was delicious! Also, we had fried mushrooms and onion rings. I think they need to change the oil in the deep fryer, because the onion rings are pretty hard. When I bit into them, they kind of shattered all over the place and the batter was a dark brown. The restaurant was immaculate and smelled so clean. However, I would ask that you not have employees sweeping with a broom around customers. For one it makes you feel uncomfortable to sit there and eat and watch somebody work around u. And two, all that dust is airborne. One last thing, I think they should play music to drowned out the young staff sitting in the booth across from talking.... or maybe they can take their break in the back someplace. It was weird that the pepperoni toward the inside of the pizza wasn't cooked but on the outside was more crisp. You can see it in the pictures. Ordered a sausage crumble pizza and a salad for pick up. Food was ready within twenty minutes. The salad was just a big pile of iceberg lettuce with pepperoni pieces, one black olive, one green olive, one peppercini pepper and a little bit of mozzarella cheese on top of it. One salad dressing packet of creamy Italian wasn't enough for all of that lettuce. (Order extra if you plan to share the salad) The pizza crust is a thinner crust. It's crunchy and not too thin. We ordered it square cut. The sausage crumbles were also tasty and spread evenly throughout the crust. The sauce was spread too thin to taste and the cheese was almost absent. The sausage sits on top of the cheese. Our pie was baked so that the sausage was all browned and crispy., almost burned. I ordered extra pizza sauce on the side to dip my crust into. I'm glad I did, as they gave me a decent amount. I ended up spreading it over each piece. The sauce alone was almost too salty, but it worked out because I was able to taste it. It's not the best, but tolerable. My suggestion would be to order extra sauce on the crust, then put the sausage on and the cheese on top of the sausage. This will prevent the sausage from being over cooked, and do not get it well done. I didn't take any pictures, but the leftovers were good the next day, and it heated well in the microwave on one minute. I also used the extra sauce on the left overs. Note: This was a carry out order. A fork was provided for the salad, and napkins were included in the bag. read more

2nd time bad experience. First time we were given the wrong pizzas, took them right back in and was questioned as where we got them and they needed my receipt. About 10 minutes later I got my order, and they took the wrong order and put it back on the shelf for whom ever those pizzas were for, honest truth. This time I ordered a half gallon salad and when I got it home the bottom was rotten. Threw it out. Called the first day I had available and the was hit with "why did I wait to call now". Not the right approach. didn't want anything free but I have been going here since the for 25 years. I won't be back. Treat you customers fair, I am not saying they are always right but times you make it sound as though you're getting scammed by the customer. Updated review: I've been here many times now. The Pizza is consistently excellent. The subs are HUGE, and flavorful! I'm not going to be able to add much about the pizza. One underrated menu item is the chicken wings. The sauce is your typical Buffalo sauce, tangy and spicy without burning your face off. Where they stand out is the amount of meat that is on the wings. They are plump, and juicy, and yet still fall off the bone. The balance between wing and sauce was perfect. Not doused in sauce; but, not dry. There was plenty of extra sauce in the bottom of the tray to dip your fries in. I won't go anywhere else for wings from now on. read more

Since this business has decided to try to shadow ban my review on Google, I will also post it here. It is dishonest and unfair of a business to attempt to disguise or remove negative reviews of their products or services. Food was great, but service was terrible. Server told me he'd bring extra cheese for my pizza and never did. I waited several minutes and showed grace, but he still didn't follow through. Then, we asked for two boxes to go and he only brought one. When we tried to say "excuse me" and get his attention, he ignored us twice. I had to go up and ask for another box from a different server. His voice was so high pitched and he spoke so softly we couldn't even understand him when he was confirming our requests. I grew up in New Albany in 80s and 90s, which means I ate A LOT of Eagles pizza. I've only been back a few times since moving in 1997, but every time it has been amazing. My last visit (10/15/22) was no exception. It looked more or less like it did when I lived in New Albany, and the pizza tasted exactly the way I grew up thinking pizza should taste. I gave at least some thought to getting a couple of pizzas and trying to bring them home in my checked bag, but there were just a lot of ways that could have gone wrong. I enjoyed Eagles Pizza, we dined in and you just order at the counter and they bring your food out to you - service was great and actually very quick. We tried the thin crust pizza - half was "all the way" and half pepperoni/banana peppers (my husband's choice). We also love anchovies on pizza and were happy to see them offered here. I'm a combo/deluxe pizza gal all the way.. as many toppings as possible and this truly did not disappoint, the all the way toppings were heaped on. I went to Eagles Pizza with my family last weekend. We ordered plenty of food and had a great time there. The food was well cooked. I ordered the taco pizza. The service was welcoming and I enjoyed my time there and especially enjoyed the desert pizza. I really enjoyed how the ingredients flowed together and melted in my mouth. My little brother enjoyed how nice all the servers were and how friendly the person who took our order was. The layout of the resteraunt was very interesting!
