We came across Por'ketta at an event again and grabbed two sandwich/side meals: the classic BBQ pork sandwich (BBQ sauce and pickles) with chips (a bag of Lays classic) and the Pigcasso (pork, pickled cabbage, pickles, lemon aioli, and Bama BBQ sauce) with potato salad. They also had a seasonal summer salad starring zucchini on the menu, which also sounded good. The sandwiches are great sized and really loaded up with meat and toppings. I have eaten Por'ketta many times. They've never disappointed so I keep coming back. I first encountered them on the inaugural CBus Ale Trail outside of Zaftig (in it's original location). I remember it clearly as I was a newbie to Central Ohio and they sold Cheerwine* in bottles. From there, I've caught them at a handful of small festivals, at Platform, and at Pins Mechanical when they parked there for a while. I've had the por'ketta sandwich, the potato salad, and the pork sundae. I could have reviewed these guys quite a while ago but I guess I was waiting for a certain dish to push me over the 'review this now' ledge. Well, I had that dish this weekend at Platform. (Where these guys are parked on Saturdays.) I had the breakfast sandwich. The bread, same that is used for the other sandwiches, was beautiful. On the sandwich were roasted red peppers, that had been peeled! I really dislike fire roasted things that haven't been peeled (i.e. tomatoes, peppers) so when I saw that the ones on the sandwich were peeled I was stoked! It shouldn't be a secret, I freakin' LOVE mayo and mayo based things (Duke's mayo forever). But, MAN the aioli used on this sandwich was on point. The thyme in it took it over the top! The bacon was great and complimented the other ingredients well. The only thing I wasn't too keen on, at first, were the scrambled eggs on the sandwich. It looked (and smelled) a bit overcooked on one side of the sandwich. However, after a few bites into the sandwich, my dislike of the scrambled eggs changed when I realized that they had crisped the cheese to the bottom side of the eggs. I love crispy, toasted cheese! With the sandwich came a side of griddled potatoes. These guys are likely the same potatoes that get crafted into potato salad. There's a vinegar backing that reminded me of the potato salad. They complimented the sandwich oh so we'll. The gentleman that was working even brought out our dog some chicken! Our dog loved it of course and wants to already know when we can go back for brunch at Platform. Por'ketta serves the breakfasty side of their menu till 2 when they switch to lunch. As a note I had my wife order the sandwich as it comes; these guys would surely honor egg style requests. Next time I get the breakfast sandwich, I will ask for an egg with a soft yoke- as that would have made this sandwich untouchable by any other food truck (and likely restaurant) breakfast sandwich. ----- *Cheerwine is a North Carolina based cherry soda. First time eating here, ordered the slow roasted chicken sandwich with lemon aeolia -- it was melt in your mouth delicious. The roasted pork? Three stars. Juicy. Tender. Their take on salsa verde, spooned I top of the pork, had as lightly salty taste - just enough to make my mouth water I delight. Potato salad was extremely delish!! I can seem to put my finger on it, and I totally forgot to ask the workers, but there is this light vinegar-ish concoction in the mix-up. Wow! I thought for sure I was going to get hit with a stringent burst of sour tart, but not at all. Slight hint of "salt". The purple potatoes are such an eye catcher, too! After first hearing about this in early February, I waited and waited for this food truck to open, and it finally did this past weekend. Unfortunately, I was out of town! Luckily, it happened to be parked out front of Four String Brewery tonight, and I had to go grab it. First off, they have one of the coolest looking trucks in town, equipped with an aluminum roof held up by some big wooden supports. I haven't seen a food truck like that around Columbus, and I like it. I'm an idiot for not taking more pictures, but check out their Facebook page. The guy taking my order, who I assume is the owner and chef, seemed very friendly, and I felt bad because with the OSU game going on, it was a bit slow for them. I went with the porchetta sandwich, because, I mean, you have to when the place is called Por'Ketta, and the Yukon gold and Peruvian potato salad. The sandwich was killer. I loved it. The roll was great, and the meat was cooked perfectly. Paired with the arugula and salsa verde and what looked like some type of aioli that wasn't listed on the menu, it was just as good as The Carvery's porchetta, which is the only sandwich I can think to compare it to right now. The potato salad though was on a whole different level. It was so delicious. I love German style potato salads, and this was pretty much that, and one of the best I'd had. The food comes out fast, which is nice. Everything's already been cooking, so I only waited for about two minutes before I was on my way. I really hope these guys are at Four String often, because I could eat this sandwich every night. It's a bit pricey at $9 for the sandwich, but the quality is definitely there. I suggest if you see this truck out, you stop by and give it a try. read more

Great food (an understatement) plus friendly service will always be winning combination. The porchetta is tender, flavorful and exquisite. The potato salad is quite delicious. I want to try the bean kale salad next. Your sandwiches and platters are assembled on demand so you get to enjoy the sight of the rotisserie where the succulent chicken tempts you to forgo the pork. so I went out with a few friends to Brewdog in Canal, the kitchen was closed due to them fixing up the hotel but they had offered us a food truck to go along with our beer. As I was walking in I seen someone carrying in this bowl of deliciousness, so I looked over the menu and decided that I would try what I seen. I had the Pork Sundae and I'm not a fan of pork but I did enjoy this, it wasn't dry and the red potatoes hit the spot. Definitely will check them out again if I see them around town. read more

I heard that "put it in your face sandwiches" was at the Easton food truck festival. I had met "the dude" who runs this cart at a prior location and acquired his number. When I arrived at this food truck event I was disappointed to see that he was not there so I called him. He informed me that unfortunately they were not attending the event. He recommended that I find por'ketta and try the "pork sundae". F$&@ing awesome dish! For $8 my belly was full and I was greatfull to brag about eating this one of a kind, unique Columbus culinary masterpiece! It's a must try! read more

I'll start off by saying I am not normally a pork fan. Best food truck I have ever had. I got the loaded kettle chips and my friend had the pork sundae. The pork was flavorful and the kettle chips had plenty of toppings. The service was also great. I would recommend this truck to anyone. read more

Food was good enough. Lemon Aioli was excellent ( I tasted my friends) I had the pork sandwich that I did enjoy but was a little disappointed about the amount of fat that was on my sandwich. It was so much that by the time I picked it out I only had the slightest amount of pork on it and at 9.00 for the sandwich I was disappointed :(. I was also surprised in the fact the sandwich was a bit smaller than I imagined. The bean and kale salad was very fresh with lots of good flavor. The disappointment of the meat being very fatty might make me pass it by next time unfortunately. Well, maybe I would give it another chance and try the chicken sandwich out. Food truck had a rustic feel and the people were nice so that is a plus. read more
