My husband and I ordered dinner from here tonight. Disappointed is an understatement. I ordered the Italian Beef Sub that says it comes in an au jus sauce and provolone cheese. I can tell you the meat is nothing more than unseasoned "steak-um" meat. There was no au jus sauce! I opened the sub to find lettuce and tomato which is nothing even in the description. The alleged manager on duty, said the pizzas just came out the oven and ask do I want them or not. He also said you can't go off the delivery time online. I love this pizza! We stopped in to eat for the first time last week. We ordered a large spicy Italian pizza and sat at the one table in the place, but we found out that they serve their food to the bar next door. The pizza has Italian sausage chunks, capicola ham, pepperoni, and banana peppers. The crust is somewhat thin but crispy, so you do get that crunch with every bite. The sauce is a touch sweet and not too acidic. If you eat in the bar next door, you get free refills on soda but if you carry out from the pizza place, they offer canned soda. We stumbled across this place by accident and are sure glad we did. We weren't sure about eating there because we only saw one table inside and didn't know the bar next door serves their pizza so the second time we went we went straight to the bar next door and ate in there. Ange's pizza is some of the best pizza I have had in Columbus. I think the secret to its goodness is in its simplicity. Ange's Pizza is what immediately comes into everyone's mind when they imagine pizza. Chewy crust, not to thick or too thin, just enough to allow you to have that extra slice before realizing you are too full. The sauce is homemade and tastes like it has been whipped up especially for your pie. The toppings are always plentiful and tinged just slightly with the grease of the pizza. Delicious. Ange's has a full menu, but you would never know it . My advice is to not even look at it so you can save crucial stomach space for the pizza, you will need it. The people who produce the pies are very nice and service very fast and friendly. For a traditional pizza that is just a pizza with no frills you can never go wrong with Ange's. read more

Ordered via phone only to show up and be told the credit card POS has been down all day (confirmed this when calling the Karl Road location) - should have told us over the phone... We paid cash only to wait another 40 minutes for them to have given half our order away. At this point we requested multiple times to leave the food and get our money back. The associate in the photo below then proceeded to call my wife a c*@t, multiple times. Delicious Pizza This is interesting about on line ordering. I tried to use the Valpak coupon and there is no code for online ordering. I called and no one had any idea how to use on line ordering including the manager and just suggested bringing in the coupon. There is no where on the website where I can see my member points. There is no where on the website where I can see how many points are needed for what rewards. There is no where on the website where you can find a customer service email. Completely discombobulated Tuesday night pizza review this week.......... With Tuesday night booked, the wife decided to set out on her own Monday night and procure the pizza this week. No comments about the service (I wasn't there) or the great aromas on the car ride home (yep, missed those) or the beer I downed while waiting (sigh). So, this review is entirely about the pizza. Ange's serves up an almost traditional Ohio pizza. It's an almost edge-to-edge toppings pie, with just a little nubby of crust to hang onto. Put this one in the square-cut category. The crust is fairly crispy and not quite thick enough for any chewiness. Being a huge crust fan, I was a bit disappointed, but that is the custom around these parts. What Ange's lacks in a crust component, they completely make up for in toppings and sauce. The ample toppings completely cover the pie. The pepperoni is slightly thicker than norm, giving the pizza a "meatier" taste. Cheese to crust to sauce ratios were perfect. The sauce Ange's uses tastes fresh and fantastic - very savory, with a slight hint of smokiness to it. The pizza had a kick to it - I honestly couldn't tell if it came from the sauce or the pepperoni. Whichever it was, it was a zesty tastebud surprise that I greatly enjoyed. Overall, the sauce and the spiciness made this a great pizza, and one worth trying. I'd place the pizza at three and a half stars. Given my love of crust, three and a half speaks volumes for the toppings and sauce, which were fantastic. read more

I've had Ange's several times when I was younger and while I use to think it was a great pizza, I now just consider it a decent to good pizza. I love the curly pepperoni they use, this has always been a favorite of mine, but it seems Anges tends to have more grease than any other pizza that I've had in recent memory. Also, while their sauce seems to be zesty, it's a taste that is pretty unique in all my pizza eating years and I not my cup of tea. So last night my husband and I decided on pizza and wanted to try something new so we called Angie's pizza in Gahanna. We ordered 2 medium pizzas and some jalapeño bites. The girl who took our order (at 6:10) told us delivery would be 40-45 minutes. At 7:15 I called to see where our order was (it was 20 minutes late at this point) and she checked and said they guy was out with our food and it should be 15 minutes tops. At 7:50 (an hour late past the first time we were told it would be delivered and 15 minutes past the second time it was to be delivered) I called again and asked for a manager. She got on the phone and repeated that our order was out. I told her how late the food was and asked if that was typical. She basically said "I don't know what to tell you we are busy". The food was delivered just after 8:00. The manager didn't apologize, didn't offer us a discount, and when I told her we would never order from them again she only said "ok". I have never spoke to someone more incompetent to be in charge of a business in my life. I will never order with them again. In case you are wondering how the food was, the pizza was actually room temperature and more cold than hot. The cheese was hardened from probably having been out of the oven for at least an hour and the jalapeño bites were greasy and cold too. My card had been charged almost $30 for the most disgusting food, rudest service, and longest delivery I have ever had. I have never written a complaint in my entire life about a restaurant as I have worked in many restaurants when I was in my 20's and usually am understanding when something goes wrong. Ange's Pizza is the best pizza in Central Ohio! When I moved to Ohio a few years ago, I was taken aback by the style. But now that I am used to the style, I can say that the Pizza at Ange's is top notch. The fresh ingredients really make the flavor in the food pop! I love the sauce, its very unique and flavorful, not like the canned, bland flavor at most other shops. And their cheese and pepperoni are in the perfect proportions on their pizza. Their are also great options for vegetarians and gluten-free folks, as some of my co-workers are. So many sub options as well, and my friend says the Steak Subs are over-the-top (not philly-style steak subs). I also don't get the angry posts here on Yelp about customer service. I have rarely had an issue, and the 1 time I did, they fixed it right away. Over 60 years of success really shines through. Love love love Ange's Pizza. I grew up on Ange's and when they opened in this location which was closer to my house, I was a happy girl. Thankfully the location is just as good as the original Whitehall one. Always a good balance of sauce, cheese and pepperoni. The sauce is zesty without being spicy which means it should appeal to most palates. The crust is between thin (not cracker thin though) and hand tossed. I love thick crust pizza but this is awesome. I love the way the pepperoni curls up with little crusty edges and not all flat and lifeless like some pizza shops. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars is it is greasy but it's from that delectable pepperoni. I always have to give it a little napkin patdown but it's a small price to pay for such great pizza. At this location, you can go to the bar next door to order it. It's basically a take out pizza shop. Okay, now I'm really hungry and pretty sure I know what I'm having for dinner Saturday! read more
