Veggie pizza (add pineapple!). Great crust and a nice balance of quality ingredients.

New to the area and first time at Stadz.. Excellent experience! My veggie pizza (add pineapple!) was delicious. Thin well cooked crust and a nice balance of sauce, cheese and fresh ingredients. I had a glass of red wine (Cabaret Sauvignon) that even though served in a plastic glass, was really good and cost less than $5 (compared to the more common $10-$15/glass prices you see). My server was very attentive and pleasant throughout. I arrived later in a Saturday evening and there were various musicians playing live music, with a bit of folk vibe. It was very enjoyable/relaxing. At one point the owner came over and introduced himself asking if was my first time in, and welcoming me. A really nice touch! I get the impression this place is once of those gems where the vibes are as important as the food. A rarity these days. Will definitely be back.

We recently grabbed a quick dinner here. Service was great, pizza was OK. It's a little kind of divey (that's a good thing, btw) pizza place over in Blacklick/Gahanna. They do Columbus style pizza, with a decent selection of toppings and some subs. Wine and beer, not listed in the menu, but on the sign board up by the bar. The guys got drafts and I had a glass of Riesling. There are a lot of fun signs/posters up on the walls. They advertise live music, but it's got to be tight in there on show nights! There were 3 of us, so we went with a large half cheese/half bacon and a side of the cheesey garlic bread. The bread was really yummy, comes with some marinara sauce and it was a really generous portion. The pizza was OK. It comes out HOT - lava-like cheese fresh from the firey portal of heck hot. This is the most acceptable way to serve pizza, so I was impressed. And, it stayed HOT, almost the entire time we were eating it! The crust was really crispy, but the sauce was off for me. It wasn't sweet, and it wasn't overly seasoned or spicy. I like lots of sauce and lots of flavor, so this one just didn't hit it for me.

We arrived at 6 and they could not seat us. They had entertainment tonight so I guess that was the issue. Lots of disappointed people were walking out like we were.

This was the first time I've bee been to Stadz. I sometimes am working at plant just two minutes away and I've never tried it. That was a mistake on my part. Awesome pizza.....Think of an improved Donatos. The pretzel bites were very good as well. The walls are covered with signed photos of bands who have played there. I wish I had come when there was music and I could have beer. I'll be back. That's a promise.

If you enjoy supporting mom and pop places then you must support this incredible pizzeria. The staff is very friendly. Small looking from the outside but surprisingly roomy on the inside. The have music most nights on the Q-FM stage inside. Pizza was so delicious. I got the pizza to take back to my parents' place. We all loved it. In fact we all agreed it was the best tasting pizza. The pepperoni was perfect! Crust was perfect. So very flavorful. Next time, I'm going to eat at the establishment and enjoy music.

Long have I been on the look out for any place that has the least whiff of Old Columbus--that divey feel of the blue collar mixed with counterculture cool that once dressed joints up and down high street, in campus alleys, fanning out to the 'burb, now endangered by the Johnny come lately fashion of the day. Not that the sleek creativity of today's trendy is at all hated by me, as my reviews will testify; sleek foodie cachet is a momentary culinary vacation. But places like this pizza joint off Taylor Road, Gahanna that has that Old Columbus feel is home. In a red house down the road it was once called Big Cheese. The main motif decor wise is music, lots of it. Pictures of bands, quotes from artist and lyrics, and music themed art dress the spot. They have live sounds here. Sans a proper stage a corner is dedicated to soloist and duets. I have caught in my few trips some decent talent. Folk rock, country, blue grass, and good old working class rock seem to be the genres of choice. When the live artists are on break, or when they are none, music comes from Roku on their lone TV. What plays is heartland, blue collar rock: Tom Petty, John Cougar Mellencamp, the Bruce. With a few booths and tables it is the perfect place to chill with some tunes on the weekend. They carry the usual gamut of pizzaria offerings: subs, apps, and salads. The beer selection rotates with a nice mix of IPA, domestics, imports, and crafts. Pizza here are excellent--for the mainstream pie: thin crust, square cut, toasted to a hot crumble. The sauce is a warm delicious base but lacks a bite. Topping are in generously proportions, covering their pie from edge to edge with fresh, well cooked, and tasty items. The cheese is also good. Both their Meat Lover and Lets Go All The Way pies hit the spot. Stadz is a choice stop daily for the local manufacturers and warm hands to chomp some goodies on lunch, or serve the air carrier crews and visitors staying at the hotels down the street near the airport. At night it is a cool hang to relax after a day of summer fun listening to music. The owner's Alex and Toni are super friendly, charismatic, and make you feel like the most important customer. The two bought the place from the former owners and rebrand it to the current name. What they have created is a spot maintaining the feel of what once was--the dark, grungy, and beautiful fun of old Columbus.

Highlights: My favorite find of 2022! Stadz really blew it out of the park for me. It's a casual and friendly joint and you know it's good when most of the customers are locals. They have the crispiest and filling pizza I've ever had. The brews are also super cheap: $4?! Out of this world. Vibes: After a long work week, I walked into Stadz on a Saturday night with a few friends to try out their pizza. The room is lively and chatty. There's a musician playing and taking requests of good ol' classics. The restaurant walls are plastered of music artists' autographs, pictures and memorabilia. Having intimate conversations in this place is real difficult, you basically have to shout especially on nights when they have live music--but it's real fun. Service: I didn't catch our waitress' name but she was phenomenal. It was pretty cool that she got all of our orders correctly without having to write anything down. She also made good recommendations. Food: We got a few brews and ciders. Their cheesy garlic bread with marinara was so good! We got 3 small pizzas: Pepperoni, All the Way, and a Chicken Ranch cauliflower crust pizza. All of them were piping hot, delicious and crispy! Highly recommend asking for mild hot/Buffalo sauce to go with the chicken ranch pizza--this is how the East coast people (like myself) like their pizza :) This place is definitely going to be our recurring hangout place now.

I don't know what happened - but cheese used to be on the whole pizza.

I was visiting from out of town. Mid day decided to get pizza and it was delicious. I wouldn't call the service inviting, but it was ok.

I've heard that they put lard in their pizza crust to make it crispy, is this true?

Don't Know. Just know it's perfectly very very crispy.

I definitly still recommend winking lizard for a good American sports bar meal. Service is always great too and their seasonal items are always really good! I did notice a couple of things, and I don't know if this is a trend or a 1-off. The blue cheese sauce was super thin, the wing sauce was also thin and would not stick/coat the wings, and the draft beer menu seems MUCH smaller that I remember. All FWIW.

Stopped into Winking Lizard on Monday night with some friends to check out their Monday Wing Night…read more Bone-in wings are $0.90 each and boneless are $0.85, ordered in increments of five, which is a nice setup if you want to mix flavors. I went with 5 Bourbon Barrel wings and 5 Spicy Garlic, both bone-in. The Bourbon Barrel wings leaned sweet with a light bourbon note. Flavor was decent, but they were pretty light on sauce and didn't have much crisp for being fried -- honestly, they almost tasted baked. The wings also weren't very tender, and I had to work a bit to get the meat off the bone. And yes, I know some people would say "just get boneless," but I'm a bone-in guy -- the bone adds flavor, and boneless wings are usually more breading than chicken anyway. The Spicy Garlic had a nice kick and solid flavor, but unfortunately had the same texture issues as the Bourbon Barrel wings -- not crispy and not very tender. I also ordered blue cheese and celery. It was fine, but nothing special. The blue cheese flavor was pretty muted and didn't have that bold, tangy punch I usually look for. On the plus side, the steak fries were cooked correctly and did their job. One highlight was their Mardi Gras menu. We tried the beignets with bourbon maple glaze, and those were a pleasant surprise. They came out piping hot, dusted with powdered sugar, and while they're not a traditional beignet, the flavor was really good and easily the most memorable part of the meal. So was the experience great? I'd say it was good. The food was fine, serviceable, but not especially memorable. Would I come back? Probably -- just maybe not for the wings next time. But, let me add. We had Jordan as our server and he was a great server. He did an outstanding job!

Posted this same review to google…read more *Warning* to parents of very young children, specifically toddlers and infants. This place has EXTREMELY intense entertainment. We visited this restaurant for the first time on Sunday evening around 5:30 and had a most unpleasant experience. Not due to food- the food was great. Menu selection great, drink selection great. Little pricey, but okay. The initial atmospheric vibe, great. Unfortunately, we were completely unaware of a ritual apparently the restaurant performs periodically. About 15 minutes into of us being there, while we were eating, the lights went dark. After a couple minutes passed and we're wondering what's going on, music started blasting at an insanely loud volume.I love loud concerts and even I was wincing. And then some wild looking alien/robot guy on stilts comes out and starts dancing around. Our 5 year old son had a complete mental breakdown. He is a little sensitive to loud sounds and this scared the absolute daylights out of him. Understandably so, because like I said the volume was violently loud. Due to this alone, we won't be returning. Even without kids. I can't overstate how painfully loud the volume was, at least during this specific instance. It was one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences we've had. It lasted about 10 minutes. It's a real shame too because before the chaos, we were really enjoying ourselves and the restaurant. We were even going to overlook the fact that our waitress forgot to bring my wife's soda. We just wanted to leave after that for fear of it happening again. I hate to sound like a pansy or overly protective parent. It was clearly a "iykyk" thing. Everyone else in the restaurant loved it. Good for them and to each their own. If only someone had come around to the tables with young children and gave a small warning of "hey, it's about to get loud", that would've been great and very helpful. But nothing. Their website doesn't state anywhere that this is something that happens. There are videos of it, which is fine, but the videos do not convey the incredibly loud volume of the place when this action goes down. We won't be returning unfortunately. So fair warning to parents of toddler and infant children- bring soundproof headphones for your littles or prepare to step outside when it goes dark.
